Controversial Nigerian Senator representing Kogi west senatorial district, Dino Melaye, today, escaped assassination attempt on his life as unknown gunmen attacked his residence in Ayetoro-Gbede, Ijumu local government area of the state.

The assailants were said to have invaded the residence at about 12 am, shooting sporadically into the building.

After the rain of bullet that lasted over one hour, two of the vehicles parked within the premises were damaged, while part of the building was also destroyed.

Narrating his ordeal to newsmen, the senator said the assailants came in
some minutes after 12 midnight and started shooting indiscriminately into his building.

He said the hoodlums shot at intervals with little break for more than one hour where two vehicles, a security van and caravan bus were destroyed.

The lawmaker however accused chairman of the local government, Taofiq Isa, of masterminding the attack because of his criticism of the state government.


“I got a rousy welcome from Kabba to my home town yesterday (Friday) and I know it angered the power that be in the state which mobilised for this assassination attempt on my life.

“At about midnight we started hearing gunshot. They fired more than 200 rounds of bullet into the house. This attempt to kill me will not stop me from speaking the truth.
“If I speak the truth I will die, if I lie I will die. Me, I’ve decided to speak the truth and die. I’m not afraid of death. I only respect men I don’t fear them.

“This attempt is being championed by the chairman of my local government. He had said it many times that he will do everything to stop me from coming home. Beside, those assailants when leaving were chanting ‘We will know if it’s Taofiq that owns the land or you.

“I am championing an administrative course. I will continue to speak and be voice to the voiceless. I’m not deterred, I remain resolute to make Kogi better. Noting will stop me from coming home.”


Melaye also said accused the Police division of Aiyetoro Gbede that allegedly failed to come to his house until three hours after the assailants had left despite.

“The DPO did not come to my house until three hours later. Even the area command in Kabba was not notified until I called the CP. I suspect a satanic collabo between Taofiq and the police in Aiyetoro because the duo had a meeting two days ago.

However, the local government chairman, who is also the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), said he had no hand in the alleged attack on the senator.

He said he had never been a violent person, saying he had been busy attending to his sick wife.

Isa, who challenged Melaye to prove his allegation against him said;


“I’ve never been a violent man. My running battle with Dino if any is because I have asked him to stop vilifying the state governor, Yahaya Bello.

“Let him (Dino) prove it. I lost my uncle a week ago, I’m still attending to my sick wife and busy supervising the APC re- registration programs. I’m a democrat and law abiding. I challenge Dino to prove his case.”


Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya, said the command had already commenced investigation into the issue.

27-year-old bride-to-be Kerry Wilkinson, who took to Facebook to disclose that she's selling her wedding dress after her ex-fiancee cheated on her has gone viral.
The wedding dress which she originally bought for £500 from Bows and Bells In Kirkcaldy, Scotland, was sold on the Facebay Fife Facebook page for £100.

In a post accompanying the advert, she wrote:

'Never used due to ex fiancé receiving o*** off my son's godmother.
'Sooner the gone it's better. Just want every last bit of him out of my life.' (sic)

The former soldier, from Dunfermline, said:

'The reaction’s been great. 'I’m not normally one for posting private stuff on Facebook but I was just thinking I need to get this wedding dress out of my life.

And I thought the guy’s an a*** hole so I’ll warn all the girls in Dunfermline what he’s like.

'I put it on for a wind-up. That’s just my sort of banter. I still haven’t sold the dress though, unfortunately.'

She added that she was informed of his alleged infidelity with her friend Nicole Martin, 23, after being shown private messages between the pair.

However her ex, Dave Notman, 26, denies the claims and says the pair split up before Christmas due to the relationship no longer working and thinks of Ms Martin as his sister.

'I was surprised to see her post and thinking "Where is she getting this from?" I texted her asking Where have you got this information because it’s wrong? But I didn’t even get a reply.

'I think it’s because I’m in a new relationship and she’s just jealous and trying to make this up to try and make my new girlfriend think I’m something I’m not.'

Officers of the Ogun State Police Command, have arrested 37-year-old Ifeanyi Ajaero, for allegedly chaining his 28-year-old wife, Obiageli, to a generating set from nightfall till dawn, after she had been seriously battered.

According the State's Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the incident occurred at Ewooluwo Sagamu in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.

Oyeyemi further disclosed that the suspect who was a member of the already disbanded Merchant Navy, used an hand-cuff to chain his wife who had become weak as a result of serious beating she received from the suspect.

“The people in the neighborhood who had witnessed frequent beatings of Obiagelli by her husband, alerted the police over the latest incident, consequent upon which the DPO of Sagamu division, SP Aduroja Moses, led his men to the scene, rescued the victim and got the suspect arrested” he said.

On interrogation, however, the suspect admitted chaining the woman to generator, but he claimed his action was in self defence.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Iliyasu, who described the action of the suspect as “an height of wickedness”, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.

He, therefore, declared that the command will not tolerate any act of domestic violence irrespective of who is involved.

Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, who claims to be an A-list actor was busted today after being pictured dozing off, while gate-crashing for a movie role in his famous shirt.

The actor who has reacted to the report, alleged he was fornicating with an actress, who forced her to one movie audition she went for. According to him, he slept off because the sex he had got him tired.

Yesterday, we brought you reports of a corp member who died of heart failure yesterday in Sokoto State, here's another report of a corp member, Segun Daniel, who died few hours to his passing out parade, after complaining of headache in same Sokoto State.

An alleged online fraudster, who has been identified as Suzan Vega Ochuko, was arraigned before Justice P.I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court sitting today in Benin, Edo State,on a three count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.

It is alleged that she connived with one Tony Uyimwen aka Alex Ethan (now at large) allegedly operating with a pseudo name Alex Ethan to commit the said crime. They contacted one Mrs. Beatrice AUF DER MAUR from St. Gallen, Switzerland via Facebook, defrauding her of €132,000.

Mrs Auf Der Maur was allegedly hoodwinked into a love relationship with the defendant, who subsequently defrauded her of the said amount under the pretence of executing a non existing contract.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum.

According to Sokoto state NYSC Coordinator, Musa Abubakar, Anthony who is from Benue state, died shortly after playing a match with his fellow corps members.

The late corps member was serving at the Government Secondary School, Tsamaye, Sabon-Birni Local Government in the state.

The deceased was resting after a football match between the various batches of the scheme, suddenly he just collapsed and died. His remains were brought to the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto and it was confirmed that he died of heart failure.

A young Nigerian man has made a shocking confession in T.B. Joshua’s controversial Lagos-based church, claiming he was delivered from the “spirit of man” which led him into “male prostitution.” According to Jonathan Etumodor, a Delta-State indigene, he felt an ‘evil spirit’ enter him during a casual swim in a river as a young boy.

Growing up, he began having “affection” for his fellow men. “Older men would meet me, have sex with me and pay me,” Etumodor recounted. “Sometimes, they would invite me to their homes, even when their wife was there. They would put me in their guest-room, telling the wife that I was someone from their office”, he said.

According to the young man, his mannerisms and mode of dressing became increasingly feminine as time progressed, stressing “Everything about me was just like a woman”. Etumodor further
revealed that although he was diagnosed with the deadly HIV, that did little to quell his activities. “I started infecting people and the people I infected, began infecting others”, he claimed.

He said each attempt to start a business from the proceeds of prostitution ended up in disappointment, leading him to delve deeper into the illicit trade, going to gay chat rooms online to advertise his ‘services’. However, when visiting his sister, Jonathan said he discovered Emmanuel TV, the Christian station belonging to Joshua, which she watched faithfully. “If I came closer or touched the TV when T.B. Joshua prayed, I always found myself on the ground,” he recounted.

Jonathan says he felt a strange force visibly leave his body during the time of prayer. “I was trying to hold myself from where I was but I was uncontrollable,” he recalled.

A week after the prayer, Etumodor went to the Synagogue to share his testimony that his desire for men had gone and he had since been “admiring” ladies. “To the people I have initiated, to the homes I have broken and to the husbands whom I have taken away from their wives, I am very sorry for what I have done,” he begged, insisting it was the devil’s work.
