You can never see Nigerians do this. Ours is a country devoid of patroitism. The best my countrymen can do is a protest rally against a president who fails to take the bullet in his chest for their sake. |

Ralphlauren: Rochas and amaechi have seen all the mess in the SE and SS hence why they are all affiliated with buhari because they want to see things change. Its a pity that majority of Ibos/SS are blind to all the mess around them and would rather continue to support Jonathan foolishly. You haven't answered my question. Does it mean their sacrifices are in vain? Are there no supporters of GEJ in SW and the Northern regions? Will he not get millions of vote from Yorubaland? Is Afenifere an Igbo or South-South group? Is it not in Lagos that APC and PDP are fighting each other? Where in Igboland was APC given similar fight as witnessed in some parts of Lagos? Even in Katsina where Buhari comes from, thousands will still vote GEJ. Please open your mind-it's politics. |

Ralphlauren: The only region supporting Jonathan is the SE/SS. Clueless bunch.
Those supporting Jonathan in the second clip. . . . See so much poverty around them . . . Smh. Yet, they want him to continue.
Thank goodness the other regions are wise and are in support of Buhari. Aren't Rochas and Amaechi from the SE and SS respectively? Does it mean their sacrifices in APC are worthless? |

AlpineSnow: Not much other than where they live. But I do know that they were incorporated into Biafra when Biafra's map was demarcated. Some of them sympathized with the Igbo, while some of them feared that if Biafra were to succeed, then they would be the minority group with the Igbo being the majority. The fact that Maj-Gen Phillip Effiong, an Efik man, was second in command to Gen. Ojukwu didn't help matters. So some of them kinda rebelled (not with arms) and were locked up during a good portion of the war by the Biafran Secret Service. Elechi Amadi was one those locked up. He gives a good account of it in his book "Sunset in Biafra".
I don't really anything else about them. Elechi Amadi is from Rivers State. He is an Ikwerre man. His name are Igbo mames. You are right about Philip Effiong. He is Efik. I love your interest in Nigeria. You may as well include a visit to the war museum and Ojukwu bunker at Umuahia in your itenary. Safe trip. |

koife: As i write, i am thanking my God almighty for sparing my life by just a stroke of luck. It all started like every other Sunday and I got ready for service particularly today being the first day of the month. Had a great service and on my way home I had a life threatening experience when I boarded a commercial bus from Kd south going to kawo. I gave the conductor 200 naira and he shouted at me claiming he hasn't change ba- change before I knew it they were speaking in Hausa saying I am Gej bro unknown to them I understood them. They gathered and started shoving me around. Next I felt a bang on my head I got scared, threw my bible and belonging running towards military check point at kawo by fly over and I was safe. I thank God they didn't open fire at me coz the crowd went rampant trying to accuse me of various allegation. This makes me wonder what our country is turning into that I can't dress in Niger delta outfit again simply because of politics. May God have mercy on the already dividing contraption call Nigeria. In pastor Chris Okotie's voice, ' Are you still there? . |

So dey can take in junior lecturers, assistance lecturers and build dem or send dem out to equip them? Dis country need deliverance No be lie you talk bro. I graduated from this University as the best student in my department missing first class by the whiskers. They advertised for GA positions which I applied for. To my greatest surprise, the day I went to submit my application form was the day they were conducting staff regularisation and one of my class members was among the newly regularised staff. Meanwhile forms were still on sale. Note we just came back from NYSC then. |

What a way to start a new day?,FTC... Modified; but wait a minute. If all this 'positions' numbering well over 300 (Op its over 179,count well) have been vacant, then how has the school been functioning? Was there a mass retrenchment? How have the students been learning? Some of the courses are newly introduced while in some cases there is need to increase the carrying capacity of the departments. |
