Frequency compatibility is majorly about phones not network, the phone manufacturer decides what type of frequency chip it embeds in its device. For the 2G, Edge, 3G it is always easy across board it's 4G and LTE that becomes sophisticated.

Ease of use by carrier sometimes depends on phone type. Some phones just need unlock code and it works while others needs some very cumbersome process to unlock and get things working. I did say I always feared sprint mobile though as there was a time a particular android on sprint can never work with nigerian network.

I would vote verizon best due to some of their phones having GSM and CDMA ability combined which is extremely rear in others.

3 too used to be an issue in the NEC and Motorola series back then. The phone can unlock but to browse nah wahala, I bought a Motorola A1000 years ago on the 3 network it never did browse until I flashed a new upgraded OS (it was a symbian OS).

American carrier branded phones come mainly as the big 4 namely AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint
Although carriers like Breed, Metro PCS, Virgin and some others exist too
Thus many phones from Yankee reach our shores down here
I'd like to know which of this American telecommunication provider networks have

1] the most compatibility with the frequency of our local carriers i.e. Glo, MTN, Airtel, 9Mobile
2] which of this networks have the most ease of unlocking and subsequent phone use for Nigerian carrier frequencies

Seems that's why I kept getting an MSISDN error early this morning when I attempted to transfer credit between the SIM cads using EasyShare.
Its really frustrating to be kept out of the communication loop

And you can't even call customer care to complain yet other networks are all functional

Yes,it is really frustrating and seems to be a widespread issue..glo has never been that good but their current situation is beyond deplorable..
Even the time it took to type this I had to toggle the data to have it come on..TWICE

You even had the liberty of using their data to connect to the Internet
Both my SIMs are showing me Emergency calls only on different phones

Is anyone else experiencing a loss of network on Globacom?
I have 2 SIM cards and both are showing emergency instead of network signals
Am I the only one?
