I took out 2days to read through the pages of this thread� and i must say kudos to the founders , danjaninja, sirriddy et al ,may God bless you guys abundantly.
I have an intention to secure a good GRE score thats why i took my time to read most passages of this thread to understand past takers experience and i must say that doing that had a boost on my confidence level.
I studied Accounting at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and wish to pursue a master's in finance in Canada , university of Manitoba being my only choice for now. I graduated with a cgpa of 4.04/5.00.
I have some Questions and Suggestions
QUESTIONS
1)I have seen some materials listed at the initial page of this thread (2014) Are they still valid (up to date) ?so i dont go on preparing with wrong materials.

2)I reside in Enugu and i did some research on centers that offer GRE Registration and training, the least amount for their GRE exam registration is 85k, one center even said they register for 110k, so please house what is the current cost of registration? Can i register by myself?
Also concerning the training i was told 70k for a month � am still wondering how possible it is to cover within a month tho, i need advice on this.

Reading from page 1 of this thread was quiet intresting ,there was no notice of scammers and all that but on getting to the later pages i started seeing such �

Hi guys, please what verbal mock looks almost exactly like that of GRE verbal cos the ones I'm seeing in powerprep online is discouraging......... Looks really really tough, pls you guys help my life in verbal

I have checked ETS website, SAT is not listed there. There's GRE, TOEFL and other exams.

What's your SAT scores?
But importantly, what's your story? Your SOP is your number 1 deciding factor. Stanford is never short of quality applicants, only your story can set u apart, not test scores...from what I gathered.

Also, don't bank on your EE upper credit. Ivy league applicants are known to have taken quite some college level courses even as high school students. So your ND, is not a big deal.

If u can tell them about how u used to trek 12 miles to and from school everyday even with your torn sandals. How with your EE knowledge, u have been able to dam your village river and provide electricity and water. How u are the captain of your village football team n beat all other team in your local government. Things like this.

...u might just get in based on emotional sentiments.


You can apply to ALL ivy league schools, but make sure u apply to easier targets too.

Someone advised I use ETS preps/materials in addition to other GRE materials. Please, does anyone here have ETS materials for GRE?

From comments here, Manhattan is very resourceful in preparation of GRE quant section. Google seems to have blocked download access to it. Any person that can help with the PDF of Manhattan 5LB and Manhattan GRE set of 8 strategy guide?

Not all schools require a transcript evaluation for an application. So this depends on the schools you'll be applying to.

I feel it was simpler because you had very simple and straightforward questions that involved just calculating ratio. However you had to solve a very cumbersome question before getting to the straightforward questions. They were in between themselves.
