Hello guys,

I recently requested for a driver’s license extract from FRSC but the letter was addressed to British Columbia instead of Ontario (I plan to move to Ontario)

Can I work with what they sent?

Submitted mine at Lagos end of July. It took a little over 4 weeks. (Accra)

Hello all, please I have a question related to passport submission. I have read a lot of concerns about delays on passport submission/return. Can anyone say which of the VACs is fastest to use and can return passport between 1-3 weeks? I hear it takes 6-10 weeks for Lagos/Abuja VAC.

Please how long did you wait after getting the vfs notification that your passport has arrived before picking it up.

I recently saw on this thread to wait 2 or 3 days. Not sure why though

*Passport submitted - 23rd June (sent to VFS Lagos via courier. Dispatched to IRCC office same day).

**Unexpected event. Received an email update on 11th July and rushed to gckey hoping to see counterfoil; lo and behold, it was an ADR for passport photographs. Apparently my photos got missing somewhere between vfs and ircc (up till now I still don't understand how this happened). Contacted vfs to find out how my photos got missing and what i should do next; they provided zero explanations and the CS rep I spoke with said they don't accept any submission(s) apart from international passports. I was so confused and perplexed at this point. I searched and searched online hoping to see info from anyone who had experienced something similar; thankfully i found a nairaland post of someone who went through the exact same thing last year. Long story short, I sent my photos directly to High Commission of Canada via DHL on 27th July and package was delivered 31st July.**

*NYSC cert (added this just to put my mind at ease, lol)
*LOE for source of funds and another for previous Schengen visa refusal


The devil tried but God prevailed as always. To anyone else who's going through challenges/difficulties in this journey, just surrender all to God (and please do your due diligence too). This PR journey has been known to offer unlimited subscription of sleepless nights lol; you just never know what to expect! But once you involve God in your matter and let Him lead, you can be sure it will always end in praise! To God be the glory for everything!

So about 2 weeks after counterfoil. Any particular reason why you should wait a couple days after collection mail to pickup?

Also it might take another +or - 2 weeks to get to Ircc.. IRCC will take 3days max to issue counterfoil and close your case...
then another plus or minus 7 days to get to Abuja or Lagos then you get collection mail wait 2 to 3 days after collection mail and go pickup or use courier if you wish.

Landing Gist!
Started my whole journey 2021. In 2022 I was denied student visa, Feb 2023 my new student Visa got Approved & in May 2023 PR.

It's been a while I saw one here, so I felt to share mine.
Left Lagos on Friday. Travelled with Lufthansa Airlines.
I got to the airport by 9.30pm when my flight was for 12.40am I felt I had time only for me to be told checking is closed! if not for the fact my mum was with me 'you know African mothers' I'd definitely not be checked in as they weren't gonna listen to nothing.
I had 2 baggage 25kg,24kg , an additional one I paid for 25kg. A carry on bag 8kg, a school bag 4kg all checked and tagged.
Our flight was then delayed extra due to whatever excuse they gave but we later took off almost 2am.

The flight to Frankfurt was smooth, our pilot didn't eat clouds unlike Nigerian local flights
They served us meal everyone around me went for 'chicken' I went for 'pasta' only to realise they got jollof rice while I was given some white stuff with red oil looking stuff. Apparently it was vegetarian pasta. I don't even want to remember the food sef.

Frankfurt airport is huge!!! Very neat & orderly. The washrooms are very clean. I saw so many whites on at my connecting flight I felt like i was the only other black person until I saw a Nigerian family.
My flight left on time this time and we landed in Vancouver 24hrs after my first flight took off.

I went ahead to the self declaration portal like everyone else. I was just following what people were doing lol. After that I got my receipt and was directed to immigrations.
We all stood on a line. All new immigrants. When we got to the door the students were asked due introduction letter while I was asked for my COPR.

It was all fairly easy. No long talk, super nice people. They asked basic questions, a lady put me thru the things I'll do next, gave me leaflets & She collected my address for the PR card. I was directed to the border security. He collected my COPR, asked basic questions, asked me to sign and gave me a copy of the COPR. He was super helpful and nice.
Finally I picked up my luggage and headed for the exit of the airport. As I reached outside cold wipe me . 22° and I'm thinking it's cold lmao.. Can't wait for the winter.
My sibling picked me up and we went back to her place...

Beautiful buildings and roads everywhere, no littering, no loitering, fine people everywhere you turn to.
The Journey has been long, but I thank God I arrived here at long last

Everyone's opinion & view differs.. But I'm enjoying Canada much more than I thought I would.

If you're in BC. Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Burnaby area definitely reach out won't be bad making new friends. Also if you have eligible single ladies send them my way too.

I got Aug 10 at first then 5 days later i rescheduled and got July ending..retry you might be lucky

Congrats. This is a season of good news! did u notice if/ when Background/Eligibility checks changed to Completed,before the RFV?
Which VFS did u book? Why not use courier, so you can send immediately or at an earlier date of ur choice?

On tracker, it changed to completed the same day. Hours before getting the RFV mail.

On GCkey, it was still showing ‘processing’. Although there was a final decision update the day before (July 17)

I booked at VFS Lagos. How does using courier work? I’m looking for the quickest option. Thanks

I booked passport submission at the earliest date which is second week of August. Is it possible to submit at an earlier date?

Please who has tried booking medicals recently?

Just got ITA and Qlife is fully booked till July. IOM has available dates but the booking site seems not to be working. Saying I've booked yet no confirmation.

And their customer care has not been going through.

Did mine this month. I kept sending emails and calling IOM customer care. If you get on the phone with them, you can explain your situation and they’ll help book an appointment

Concerning the express entry application, I have uploaded all the necessary documents and I’m about to pay.

I want to pay the RPRF but it isn’t in the summary of fees. I might have selected to pay later but I can’t find where to change that payment option.

I intend to pay all fees now to reduce processing delays.
