So how did your document your micro job, because me am a personal assistant to a very big person and since he pays me personally as a very high ranking government official, I am wondering how to go about enlisting it on my DS-160 form for my application. Olusegun26: |
Mobilia:I really can’t place a finger at why am being denied, the last study visa I applied for, I didn’t answer some of the questions confidently and was scared of the VO’s harshness, I faltered in some key questions cause he interviewed me over the normal 5mins, he kept on looking at my face and finally made the decision to deny me. |
Hello guys, am new on this thread, I was invited by my high school classmate who is getting married in the USA, though he is a permanent resident, his wife is an American citizen, she sent me her passport bio data pages and drivers license alongside a letter addressed to the USA consulate in Lagos to me, now I work as the personal assistant and secretary to the area tax controller and assistant director of taxes of a region in delta state, now the thing is, he employed me personally not as a government staff and he pays me directly, outside that I am a blogger and have been able to generate income via blogging as a side hustle, I am graduating from my first degree in June, I have been to Southafrica once and Dubai about 5times, I am not looking to immigrate one bit as am doing fine here, what are my chances should I apply? |
What if one decides to apply a week before his expect d time of arrival in the USA would it be a bad thing to do so? |
Hello house, please I have some questions as regards obtaining a visiting visa to America, my bestfriend who is a PR is getting married to an american citizen, I have been denied study visas to Canada and subsequently America, my friend wants me to come over to his wedding and the wife is sending me an invitation, am a bit tensed as I have been denied visas to both America,UK and Canada on grounds that they were not sure I would come back should they grant me a visa, now to the reason am here to seek your opinions, I am the personal assistant to an area tax controller and director of taxes, I am his personal staff and he pays me around 60k, but outside that part time job, I am a blogger and own a blog which fetches me close to 1.6million a year, I have a company registered under my name by my dad, but it’s been inactive, I have been to Dubai five times or more, Southafrica once, so considering the fact that my boss is a high ranking government official and wants to draft letter stating he employed me and his paying me directly, does it count for anything? I am not willing to give any false info as I have never done once before, I am open to suggestions. |

i got the visa finally on the 23rd, leaving next week, my leave was extended for a further 2weeks,i am most grateful to you for helping me wait it through, johannesburg now, then italy, france and germany next, God bless you. |
Ndukaikenna:i think you are right nduka, its like they know they want to give you already, so they just wait for when your date is close, my departure date is 28th though. |
today makes it technically 2 weeks and am yet to get any form of response, my live expires in 12days time, i just do not understand why its taking so much time, from November 7th till today, i have not gotten any form of response and am getting really tired of waiting, its pretty obvious i might not spend more than 5 days on my trip, my only hope is i get multiple entry, at least am sure of getting the week preceding the christmas and newyear as off days, so i go before my leave expires come back and go again the christmas break. |
i dont understand why my application i submitted in lagos same day with my friend who submitted in abuja isnt ready, its like all applications to abuja are faster,my application got to their embassy on the 7th but i submitted on the 4th, still dont understand what they are processing, my leave is almost running out, even if its 5days i spend i dont mind in as much as i get the visa ASAP. |
please i applied for a south african tourist visa, i have been to dubai three times before, i work as the secretary and personal assistant to the chief inspector of taxes at delta state board of internal revenue, my boss drafted an official letter introducing me and stating my intentions and stamped the letter and signed, am also a blogger and stated my website address in the self introduction letter, i had a closing account balance of 710,000,an inflow of 3million and outflow of 2million plus, did my flight booking with wakanow though didnt confirm, i just want to visit the place as am tired of going to only dubai all the time, do i stand a chance? |
@spikec sorry to disturb you,but I know you have an idea of a possible outcome for administrative review, since mine is on 20days with no response,is there a need for panic? And please when do they normally request passport for the visa,is it after or before the 28days elapses? |
@spikec I know you must have an idea of someone who has gone through a successful administrative review before, please could you help us find out how long it took for the embassy to call them to bring forth their passport for a visa? I remembered when my friend did his 2months ago,he submitted and was called to tender his passport after 2weeks,then after the submission it took the embassy another 2weeks to issue the visa. Mine is 2weeks and 2days today, and nothing yet,and again they said once the decision is against you, they normally tell you in 5days. |
10th of last month, its not yet 28days,so let's hope they get in touch with you this week,i applied for my review on the 16th of last month and haven't been replied yet too. |
@spikec thanks for everything, you see i need them to make a decision ASAP in other to make a decision on what next to do,my registrar said if the decision doesn't favor me that they were gonna file an appeal for me over there,I can't make any decision as to if I wanna secure another CAS and reapply,it would then mean me running another account,i am not desperate, but am just disappointed at the way my case is being handled,do you know my refusal came out 23rd september and it took them over 2weeks to notify me to go pick up my package at teleperformance abuja, sorry if I sound a bit difficult, but if you were in my shoes right now,you won't do anything less, with over 3,000pounds of my money hanging somewhere now,i ought to be. |
@spike when I told ECO that my sister was given info about the school by her friend when my sister visited london, she then asked me if my sister schooled in london,i said "NO"cause she just went on holidays, besides my school is a highly regarded sponsor, you can check on their status on home office's website(capitalcollege),go through the third paragraph you could very much see she wasn't making sense there as it doesn't even relate to any of the points, she was talking about my mum. |
@spike very well,i like what you have said,it stated on the letter from my uncle's oil firm that I worked from december 2010 to december 2012 as a store keeper, she asked me to define the course,i did,she asked me to give the course module,i stated it,she asked how the course would benefit me,i did answer correctly, the problem started from when she asked me how the course would help me relate and where would I work with my certificate when am back, she has no right whatsoever to ask me about that part,as for research on the school,my sister's friend told my sister about the school when she visited london, and I trusted her judgment,so am really yet to see what my fault was,a friend of mine was refused on almost 10points,he was successful and am keying into his miracle by faith. |
@spike I was meant to cover up,the time that have been at home since my SSCE was completed in 2008,about the part where i gave out too much info,i had already given the info during the skype interview, was very surprised when they asked me the very same questions on a phone interview,as for the time of completion of my computer programmme,I was caught off guard, and I didn't wanna give a false information to the ECO,i have gone through their immigration rules and guidelines, could not find anywhere where they asked those crap they put on the refusal form,i met the educational requirements, met the financial requirements, maintainance fee and others, which is what was clearly stated in the home office website,so those other questions they asked was uncalled for,i strongly believe that my review would be successful, been that I even forgot to sign the review form, and they contacted via mobile from the embassy t fill it and send to an email they sent me. |
@justwise why is it taking so long for them to decide, though this might just be a good sign, cause a friend of mine's review was decided in just 5days but it wasn't successful, someone told me that it's cause I have a strong case, its why they haven't decided yet, that there is hope, and I was also made to understand that home office have back log of jobs at hand and it's the reason for the delays. |
@justwise I tendered my SSCE results, certificate, letter from my uncle's oil firm where I worked for 2years,before proceeding to do a one year computer programme at delta states youth resource center, couldnt she have seen all the documents to back it all up in its original state, and she claims have been to just one year of school. |
@justwise she got it all wrong,i tendered my SSCE results and a letter from my uncle's company, where I worked as a storekeeper for 3years,before proceeding to do a one year computer programme with the delta state youth resource center,i even showed original documents for all,she is then judging me based on that when she clearly saw my school leaving certificate and result. |
@justwise they didn't mention anything about running the account, besides i was told that in as much as I have paid more that half my fees and hold my maintenance fee,i am more than qualified for a visa,i even called my schools registrar about whether my mum should pay it in bulk or in splits,he said there was no where it was stated in the immigration laws that states that an intending student must run and account,he went on further to state that so far the student is able to show the equivalent of his maintenance fee for 28days,thats all that counts and not the history of the account. |
But that isn't supposed to be a prerogative to judge,my mum converted the 3.5million she amassed from her savings in the last 2years,converted it to euros and opened an account with the equivalent in my name,my solicitor and the registrar said it never matter so far I have the equivalent of my maintenance fee in my account. |
@spike that's my refusal form |
