PoliticsRe: Say No To Sim Card Registration by oderemo(m): 2:12pm On Jul 04, 2010
why on earth we favour ridiculous  and ill thought ideas when ever our clueless politicians decided to shun one out.
even in developed world questions are raised daily on govt. tampering on individual rights and i bet this is the beginning of our govt shipping away our already eroded rights.
Sim card reg. is no.
let get the basic FUNDAMENTAL rights up and running firs. forget what happ. in u.s and u.k . we need to to be able to TRUST the police, various arms of govt. entrusted with our rights first.

At least seven persons have been reported killed while several others were severely injured as Hausas and Yorubas in Ijora Oloye, Lagos State, Nigeria, clashed early this morning.

P.M.NEWS correspondent at the scene of the incident gathered from eyewitnesses that the fight started at about 6. a.m. today when two young men, a Hausa and a Yoruba had a quarrel and started fighting in an Indian hemp joint where both of them had gone to smoke.

The fight was said to have degenerated into an ethnic one, when the Hausas and Yorubas in the locality took sides and joined in the fight.

Weapons such as broken bottles, dagger, knives and cutlasses were freely used by them.

However, over 1,000 policemen from different police commands in Lagos State have been drafted to the area to bring the situation under control.

At the time of filing this report, normalcy had returned to the area, but policemen can be seen patrolling the area, while they stopped and check passers-by.

There was been no official reaction to the clash as at press time.

It is unbelievable that a house that should be found in ghettos in western world goes for such an exorbitant price. This house is not not worth $1.66million. When you factor in the fact that the environment probably lacks adequate infrastructure, the price becomes even more absurd.

I personally think the valuation of houses, land and other real properties in Nigeria are arbitrary and capricious. In a fair market world, this house should be no more than $200,000.00 or 30 million but we are in Nigeria where everthing is rigged against the common man from the stock market to real estate to the government and we wonder why the country is failing?

The inter locking tiles here are simply nasty and leaves much to be desired. For a house that costs this much, landscaping should at least be much better than it is.

With 250 million naira I can do a much better construction myself even in Asokoro. The replacement value should be much less for this house
.

PoliticsRe: Ogun State Government May Go Bankrupt? by oderemo(m): 6:42pm On Jun 29, 2010
what am saying in essence is that you mentioned words like, TRANSPARENCY,AUTHORISATION OF FUND IN BATCHES, going by ogd antecedence he is not one to sign up to guidelines like that .
moreover the governor has been in total disagreement with most if not all of the members of assembly hence the legislators are at logahead with him on state financial issues.
PoliticsRe: Ogun State Government May Go Bankrupt? by oderemo(m): 6:22pm On Jun 29, 2010
What can be done if there is fear of looting is (1) to agree and sign an intense transparency process that enables legislative monitor of how each naira borrowed is spent and (2) authorisation of funds in small batches to address each phase. Basically only a fraction would be released under the incumbent and a process put in place to assess utilization and returns, not to stop government from functioning
@saga, the above reasons you enumerated are the same reason project like ogromma , was nothing but an avenue for him ,{ogd} to embezzle moni. simply cos he would not allow any govt apparatus into your no.1 and 2
PoliticsRe: There Is No Government In Oyo-tinubu by oderemo(m): 6:09pm On Jun 29, 2010
Sure, he stole money from the government coffer yet he still performs more better than the called Akala; while Akala has stolen what Tinubu stole in 8 yrs in just 4 yrs.
i laff in engrish.
you are justifying someone who stole moni and wasted 8 solid yrs in govt. only in nigeria will comparism of common denominator be public embezzment and wantom pocket enrishment.
