1. Make money online as a content writer
Content writing involves researching, planning, and crafting unique content for online promotions across selected channels. Content writing is part of a digital marketing strategy and one that is most important in content marketing. Without content, there will be no marketing, of course. This content can, however, range from articles to blog posts, posts for social media, press releases, brochures, business proposals e.t.c.

As a content writer, depending on the task, you may be asked to write technical content, creative content, stories, web copy, email copy, and the list goes on.

To become a good, highly sought-after content writer, you’ll need to build some skills and meet specific qualifications. Skills like:

Writing skills
Keyword research skills
SEO skills
Analytical skills
In addition to these, you must be able to collaborate well using collaborative tools and excellent communication skills.

College degrees are less important when it comes to freelancing. If you want to work in organizations, your plan should include a college degree, usually in English, marketing, or communication and journalism.

A college or university degree isn’t always enough, and so getting content marketing certifications can help boost both your skills and reputation.

In addition to content marketing certification, It’s advisable that you start your blog. Writing for your blog or website is an excellent way to show recruiters your skills and your level of expertise without saying much during an interview.

Having your writing sample of work as a portfolio will also save you stress and time with clients.

Content marketing freelancers often get paid per piece (per article) for somewhere between $0.10 and $0.50 for each word they write. But the exact rate depends on the type of content you are writing, the delivery time, and your level of expertise on the subject.

You can also build the necessary skills and become a content marketing specialist. In this case, the average salary for a content marketing specialist is $81,000 per year. This number will vary based on your location and level of experience.

You can also develop yourself to become a content marketing specialist working for organizations, which could see you earning up to 600,000NGN a month.

2. Become an SEO specialist and sell SEO services
SEO is another fascinating digital marketing area that you can master within a short time and start earning money online.

As an SEO specialist, you can sell SEO services to clients. Your clients will most probably be business owners and bloggers.

Becoming an SEO expert isn’t something hard. SEO is not rocket science. Once you understand how search engines work and follow the best practices, and then study and know how to use SEO tools, you’ll soon be making money from the comfort of your home.

There are numerous videos on SEO courses you can find on the web, especially on Youtube. When looking at these online resources to learn SEO, it’s advisable that you search for a high-quality SEO course as you can easily get lost sifting through the endless amount of articles.

As you increase your expertise level with relevant online resources, you should get familiar with the popular SEO tools to streamline your work.

Search engine optimization is a constantly changing field, and as such, you’ll need to keep updating yourself every day. As an SEO Expert, you would want to set alerts online using Google Alerts tools to keep yourself informed with happenings in the industry.

SEO changes because search engines such as Google and Bing constantly make changes to their algorithms, making all SEO at the search engines’ mercy.

Learning the theory aspect of SEO doesn’t make you an expert. Seo is a broad field, and just like arts and science, you’ll need to practice regularly with the tools and implement them on your website or blog.

Having a website gives you a playing field to try it yourself and see what works and what will never work. This way, you can boldly create SEO services and market them to clients.

You can start a blog or website and drive targeted traffic, capture leads for email marketing.

You can also improve the speed of your web pages.

If you know how to do this, you’ll soon become the SEO expert you want to be.

How much can you make as an SEO expert?

This question is one of the most frequently asked questions on google. SEO often earns an average hourly rate of between 5,000NGN – 30,000NGN in Nigeria.

3. Earn cash online with affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing is part of marketing that’s been around even before the advent of search engines or social media. Affiliate marketing works by referring to sales of other people’s products while you earn on commissions.

The process is simple and very straightforward – you take my products and sell them for me, and then I pay your commission per the products you sold based on our agreement.

To get started, you will have to build your own website/blog, find a profitable niche, take products that sell fast, and start promoting them to drive interested visitors to your site.

In affiliate marketing, you have a standalone platform where you can establish an account directly with many companies, form and manage multiple partnerships on a single platform.

This single platform is your blog or website. It will function as the primary way of promoting different affiliate products.

What makes a successful affiliate marketer?
There’s no affiliate marketing without the ability to write unique content. Therefore to succeed as an affiliate marketer, you must understand at least the keyword researching methodology part of SEO and how to research and identify your target audience before settling on a niche.

Keyword research allows you to know what people that you have identified as your target audience are looking for. And develop a strategy on how to be there (at the forefront) the moment they’re looking for that thing.

Learn more about keyword research best practices and methodology here.

Once you identify the type of products people are searching for most and conclude on taking an affiliate partnership with a company, you’ll need to build your blog and start creating content.

Keyword research is essential because selecting the right keywords will make it easier to get started and earn a passive income within a short time.

You would want to ensure that you have quantified traffic before joining affiliate programs because traffic is the heart and soul of any successful website.

However, as you wait and drive traffic to your site, you can read about the requirements, privacy policy, terms and conditions of the companies you’re partnering with.

How much can you make through affiliate marketing?

At this point, I need to say this; affiliate marketing requires patience. If you can be patient, you can earn as high as 100,000NGN in a day, something many graduates don’t make in a month.

The earning potential is excellent, but you will need to establish your online presence and drive a good amount of traffic to your website to see meaningful results.

4. Selling consultancy services to companies.
As a digital marketing specialist, I have worked as a consultant before. I got paid 3x of what I earn from working with an agency. But the fact remains, you’ll have many opportunities and multiple streams of income with little to no stress.

Once you acquire some digital marketing skills and experience, you can monetize your way by offering digital marketing consultancy services.

Follow these steps to get started:

1. Identify your area of expertise – you’ll need to define the specific services to offer clients. Know your strengths and weaknesses because you need to start strong. You don’t want to fail in your first few consultations with clients. You might want to consider these areas as a starting point:

Social media marketing
Branding
Video marketing
Influencer marketing
Local marketing
Email marketing
Web analytics and reporting

1. Pitch in your service to a friend/family member who owns a business

Definitely not to your distant relative or acquaintance, if you have a family member/friend who’s already running a business, offer your knowledge
to them and get them to hire you.

It’s okay if you don’t get paid at first, take it up as long as they are open to spending money on Facebook.

It all comes down to you correctly setting the expectations to them. Asking as polite as “I’m learning a Facebook course right now and would be

interesting in implementing to grow your business” would be good enough to convince them

Don’t be crazy enough to spend a lot right away. Get a small budget, test, and as you get results, proceed further.

Charge a small stipend once you get results.

2. Apply for Internships

Do you know what’s the best way to learn a bicycle? Being handheld by someone who already knows how to ride it

Similarly, apply for internships. Free internship, paid, or you pay to get the internship, it’s okay.

Just go for it.

When you work with a master, just hold their hand tight(not literally ) and they will aid your learning process much faster.

Once things go well, apply for a job in the same organization or start looking for jobs. You’ll end up in a job easily with the practical experience you have got.

3. List your services on Fiverr

Feeling too cheap? Come on, we are literally the same people who actively look for high-quality work at the cheapest cost.

It’s totally okay to list your gigs on Fiverr once you have some portfolio in hand, considering the fact that most people on Fiverr make a lot of
money than most of us here.

It’s gonna be tough only until you get your first couple of reviews. Once people start seeing the value, you might get orders on a consistent basis.

4. Help people

Ever heard of reciprocity? Do good to people and the good shall come back to you.

That’s exactly what’s gonna happen if you start helping people in public forums.

Within nairaland, I’m quite sure a lot of people have got a business in return just by providing value for free.

Once people start seeing you as a trusted advisor, what next? They would definitely need your help when they can’t do something on their own

Be active in relevant groups, provide value to people, build a small following and one fine day, your messenger might have a notification from your first prospect

There’s plenty of advice on the internet from gurus on how to land your first client/job.

The ones I’ve shared are the ones I have done for myself and my friends, and it doesn’t cost too much to do any of these

And the points mentioned above will apply to get any Digital Marketing client/job if you give it a try

Are you ready to get your first job/client? Or do you have better suggestions? Let me know in the comments below

Webmasters / Odigital's Facebook Ads For Beginners: Terminologies Compilation by Odigital: 1:06am On Apr 25, 2020
Buzz Words in Facebook Ads every Beginner needs to know:

Hi, guys, this is Odigital and we are writing down a series of posts for beginners on Facebook ads and its best practices, as long as I can. You can search for my posts with the hashtag #FacebookAds

No Sales, No DM me’s, just content that you can consume and implement.

[LONG POST AHEAD]

While most of us get confused over time with the terminologies people discuss in the group on various topics, I just wanted to compile a list of the common, and the most important buzz words every Facebook Ads Beginner needs to know, as simple as I can.

Pro Tip: You can always find the definitions of these words inside the ads manager just by hovering over the particular keyword inside your ads manager(screenshot attached in the comments).

Here it goes:

1. Reach: The number of people(unique) who have seen your ad.

2. Impressions: The number of times your ad has been shown to your audience.

3. Frequency:
Simply put, it is the Total no of Impressions/Reach. For eg, let’s say your ad has reached a 1000 people on Facebook and there are a total of 1200 Impressions, your frequency is 1200/1000 = 1.2
This means an average user has seen your ad at least 1.2 times on Facebook.

Note: For a healthy campaign performance, suggest testing with new images and ad copies once the frequency goes above 2. This rule does not apply to retargeting.

4. Cost per result: The average cost per result from your ads(Leads, Conversions, App installs, Page Likes, etc).

5. Budget: The amount you spend on ads. You can set budgets on a daily/lifetime basis.

6. Cost Per Impressions(CPM):
The average cost per 1000 impressions. Lower the CPM, higher the performance of your ads.

7. Link Clicks: The number of clicks on links you’ve used on the ad towards the desired end result. In simple terms, it’s basically the number of clicks you have got on your ads that took the user to your landing page or lead form, etc

8. Click-Through Rate(Link click-through): Commonly referred to as CTR, this is one of the most important metrics you need to look at to determine your ad performance. It's basically the percentage of the number of times your ad was shown(Impressions) by the number of links clicks you have received. For eg: Let's say your ad has reached 1000 people and 20 people have clicked on the links on your ad, your CTR is 2%. For an average ad performance, your CTR has to be at least above 1%

9. Cost Per Link Click(CPC): Basically, the number of link clicks divided by the budget spent. Lesser the Cost Per Impressions → Higher Click-Through Rate → Low-Cost Per Link Clicks.

10. Website Purchases: Purchases happening on your landing pages(outside of Facebook).

For E-Commerce/Conversion Based Ads:

11. Landing Page Views: The number of times a person successfully landed on your web page after clicking on the ad. You can track both unique and total no of views.

12. Add To Cart(ATC): The number of Add to Cart events on your Product page that happened through someone clicking on your Facebook ad and visiting the page.

13. Checkouts Initiated(IC): The number of Initiate Checkout events on your Product Page that happened through someone clicking on your Facebook ad and visiting the page.

14. Adds of Payment Info: The number of Add Payment Info events on your Product Payment Page that happened through someone clicking on your Facebook ad and visiting the page.

15. Outbound Clicks: Outbound clicks provide a close measure of the amount of traffic your ads send to your website or app. The difference between outbound clicks and link clicks is that outbound clicks give you a closer approximation of the number of people who visited your web page from ads.

16. Return On Ad Spend(ROAS): Probably the most flaunted and discussed metric, ROAS is a measure of the Returns you have made with Product Sales through Facebook ads. For eg, you have spent a budget of INR 10,000 on ads and made INR 20,000 through Website purchases, your ROAS is 2. While people are being successful in getting even close to 20x ROAS or more, anything above 2 is pretty decent provided your product has enough profit margins.

Understanding these metrics will help you determine the performances of your ads and take action on what to do next with them. To make the most out of your Facebook advertising, create weekly reports of your campaigns with the above metrics, and track the performance of your ads for the best results.

Webmasters / The Odigital Facebook Video Ads Masterclass by Odigital: 2:47am On Apr 24, 2020
Creating Killer Facebook Video ads**

In a world of Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, and video calls shouldn’t you be trying to use videos to grow your business as well?

Jumping directly into the content, here’s an https://odigital.ng article on #FacebookAds with me where I’ll be showing you the tricks and trades to creating eye-catching videos that convert!
Did you know that according to Facebook, people gaze at a video five times longer than images?
We might have witnessed that in our own experience too

With this advantage, read more on how you can create killer Facebook videos that convert!

**1. Content:**

Do you know what’s the best way to create a content structure for your video?

Tell them a story
Start as simple as a question that addresses their problem.
For eg, “Are you worried about not getting enough sales for your business online?”, “Are you struggling to stay fit and healthy?”
You immediately grab their attention when you are talking about their problem and make them sit at least for the next few seconds to know what your video is all about.

**Developing the video script:**

Given the fact that the AIDA model exists, never worry about creating content for your videos.

***A - Attention*** (Grab their attention by talking about their problem, stating a fact etc)

***I - Interest*** (Create Interest by how they can solve their problem)

***D - Desire*** (Induce desire by giving them an offer they cannot refuse)

***A - Action*** (Make them take action by showing urgency, scarcity or any other principle of influence)

Let me give you an example of a video script:

*Are you an Entrepreneur struggling to scale your business online?*
*Tried all digital marketing efforts but went in vain?*
*Here’s the thing! You are not the only one smiley*
*Just like you, I was a struggling Entrepreneur praying every day to take my business to the next level, until I found out the one magical system that helped me hit the first 7 figures in just 6 months back in 2019.*
*I call this system “The 7-Figure Online business” with which Dozens of my clients have scaled their business from zero to 7 figures in no time.*
*Now, I’m gonna be revealing this secret to you in my webinar that’s happening on DATE, where I show you Benefit 1, Benefit 2, Benefit 3 etc*
*And just for joining, you’ll get my Bonus 1, 2, 3 for free!*
*The best part? This webinar is free to attend smiley*
*If you are serious about scaling your business online, then the tips I give you in this webinar would do the job to get you there…*
*So why wait? Click the sign-up button right away smiley*

Got the script? Maybe the script I gave might not be as great as copywriters do, but all that I’m saying is you can follow a structure as simple as this to create your script

It only took 5 minutes for me to write this down
You can also have a good habit of taking inspirations from video ads that you come across in your feeds

Tools like** “Facebook ad library”** will help you find ads of your competitors. If you are lucky enough to find a video that’s worth copying, just go ahead and take inspirations from it Don’t plagiarize.

**2. Recording the video**

There are two ways to go about this - to make videos using stock/existing images, or go live and shoot.
Both have their own significance, but it is easy to make a product/stock video than to do a live shoot.

So let’s discuss the latter:

As we rightly pointed out, the best way to do a live shoot confidently is to vomit out your content. It's okay to feel shy in front of the camera, or worry about how you are gonna deliver…

But until you stand on the stage, how would you know what it's like to perform in a concert?
The best way to do it is to let the mobile or video cam on and memorize one or two lines and speak confidently. You can keep the best shots and edit the blooper stuff

Well, that’s how we record our ad and course videos too
In the course of time, you’ll acquire the skill of creating videos in a single take.

**3. Design and Tools**

Square videos work best across platforms**(800*800)**. You can use tools like **Inshot premium, Biteable, Lumen 5, VEED** (and a lot many more, let me know in the comments) to create videos and do all the editing right there. To make it more attractive, add icons, graphs or any content like case studies and testimonials, slide transitions to enhance.

Try adding subtle background music so the video doesn’t play monotonously.

One important thing to do is add a title layer, progress bar, and subtitles to your video.
Because your videos are not gonna be opened with sound most of the time.

And to grab attention, adding a title and subtitle is the only go
Use contrasting colours for the Title layers to make the video attractive and watch

**4. Custom Thumbnail**

Even before people watch your video, your thumbnail is the first thing they notice in a flash. Making use of custom thumbnails will help you convey what your video is all about before they have a look at the video. Use canva to create a thumbnail.

**5. Length of the video**
What should be the ideal length of your video? Facebook Marketing experts say less than 60 seconds is good unless you need to go in detail about stuff.

Be clear and concise instead of trying to beat around the bush.

You can even try short <10-second videos that just talks about the offer instead of using static images.

**Why video ads?**

Videos are a great way to reach more people and make them aware of your products and services. Not just that, you can retarget people based on the time they have spent on your video thereby giving you a quality audience already

Business / Why You Need To Productive During The Covid-19 Lockdown by Odigital: 4:25am On Apr 17, 2020
One Secret That Can Help You Be More Productive

We all have this dream. We all wish for it. We try to learn as many hacks as possible. We read as many blog posts as possible. We devour videos and books. We follow gurus.

But it remains a never-ending quest.

I’m talking about productivity.

Don’t we all want to be more productive? Don’t we want to do more with our 24 hours? Don’t we all want to achieve more working 4 hours a day?

But we struggle.

One day as we read a new hack or a post, we feel pumped. We implement it, follow it for a day or two, and then poof. It’s gone. We are back to our normal productivity levels.

Because it’s hard to sustain the motivation high enough to remain productive.

In this post, I’m going to share a secret that can help you to be productive in the long term without losing motivation.

Why do you want to be productive? What’s your purpose? What are you working for?

There will be a reason why you want to do it.

It could be anything.

It could be because you want to become a brand or grow your career or earn more or live a better life or give your family a better experience or take a vacation you always wanted or something.

Find out why you want to be more productive and reconnect with it frequently.

If your family motivates you, keep a photo where you can see it all the time and use it to remind you why you need to keep going and be productive.

If your career growth motivates you, then find a way to remind you of it. If it’s a vacation, then keep a photo of it and visualize you being there.

Remember, your why doesn’t need to be a constant. It can change. Once you have achieved your vacation goal, you can pick another one and use it to motivate your quest.

Whatever is your why, keep reconnecting with it daily and use it to fuel your productivity levels.

TLDR: find why you want to be productive. Reconnect with it regularly and use it to fuel your productivity levels.

Leadership Exposed: Things You Thought You Knew About Leadership

Much has been expounded on leadership: rules, pointers, styles, and memoirs of motivating leaders all through world history. Be that as it may, there are sure leadership thoughts that we ourselves neglect to perceive and acknowledge over the span of understanding books. Here is a short rundown of things you contemplated leadership. and we breed leaders at the www.odigital.ng

1. Leaders come in various flavors.

There are various kinds of leaders and you will likely experience more than one sort in your lifetime. Formal leaders are those we choose into positions or workplaces, for example, the representatives, congressmen, and leaders of the nearby clubs. Casual leaders or those we gaze upward to by prudence of their knowledge and experience, for example, on account of the older folks of a clan, or our grandparents; or by temperance of their mastery and commitment on a given field, for example, Albert Einstein in the field of Theoretical Physics and Leonardo da Vinci in the field of the Arts. Both formal and casual leaders practice a mix of leadership styles.

2. Leadership is a procedure of turning out to be.

Albeit certain individuals appear to be brought into the world with intrinsic leadership characteristics, without the correct condition and introduction, they may neglect to build up their maximum capacity. So like figuring out how to ride a bike, you can likewise figure out how to turn into a pioneer and sharpen your leadership capacities. Information on leadership hypotheses and abilities might be officially picked up by taking a crack at leadership classes, workshops, and meetings. Day by day cooperations with individuals give the chance to watch and practice leadership hypotheses. Together, formal and casual learning will assist you with picking up leadership perspectives, gain leadership bits of knowledge, and therefore advancing the pattern of learning. You don't turn into a pioneer in one day and simply stop. Long lasting learning is significant in turning into a decent pioneer for every day brings new encounters that put your insight, aptitudes, and at it

It is common knowledge that without traffic we have no business. Like any business, without any customers you donít get sales. Traffic represents all the people that gets a chance to see what you have to offer. The more people who see your products the more people there would be to buy them.

Nobody puts up an E-commerce site that doesnít expect profit. We have a startup capital that needs to be regained. With a consistent traffic, we at least have a fighting chance to achieve that probability. Monetizing your traffic would optimize your chances of making the best out of it.

The best and most proven method of making a profit out of your traffic is using advertising. The internet generates hundreds of thousands upon hundred of thousands of traffic everyday. Most of them are searching for something. While some are just looking for information there is also a good percentage that is looking for something that they need.

The internet has proven to be a very reliable source in finding what was deemed to be a very unsearchable product. The internet has made the world a smaller place; you can advertise a product from the depths of Istanbul and still find a buyer from the center of Philadelphia.

Generating traffic is not an easy task. You have to contend with a great number of sites to generate a good number of traffic flow. But if done successfully this could open up a Pandoraís Box of possibilities. One of the benefits is monetizing your traffic flow.

This scheme is called ìpay-per-clickî. With every click a visitor of your site makes on an advertised link you will be paid. The more traffic you generate and the more clicks that happens would spell to more profits.

Affiliate Programs

Another method of monetizing your traffic are affiliate programs. You can link up with other tried and tested sites and online companies and monetize your traffic by having a percentage of sales generated by traffic coming from your site.

When purchases are made by customers that was led by your site to their site you get a percentage of that sale. Affiliate programs would give you the benefit of monetizing your traffic without the actual need of carrying or promoting a certain product.
