Hmm. You are right to an extent on the missionary part but on the whole, you are simply beating about the bush. The missionaries only educated a few in the West. It was Awolowo's AG who educated the masses. The fact on the ground is that promoting education goes beyond fancy buildings or simply just throwing money at it. It is a state of mind. You cannot be promoting a religious based society, in an already conservative society and not expect to be left behind in the modern world . Science and religion do not mix. Almajiri Koranic education and sharia law were state of the art in the 16th century ;not anymore. Western education is the new state of the art and vastly more superior . The economy of Switzerland alone,is larger than the non oil economy of all the Arab countries. In other words, all the Arab countries can simply be regarded as a gas station I do not see any state anywhere (apart from maybe rivers state)mobilising as much resources for education as Osun. Even in the the south, many states are as bad as the north. E.g bayelsa. Solution to the problem, REDISCOVER THE AFRICAN IN YOU. |
In the SW,You become irrelevant the moment you stray off the course of destiny.Gani speaks for himself. In most cases, it ends once you go to abuja. |
My 2 cents. He should forget about re-election, gather a team of international investigators in finance, find the money trail, find out who stole what, where and when in his administration ,arrest them and finally start prosecuting. That is the only way for him to rehabilitate himself |
Many. Just a couple of minutes ago. B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G : Nigeria shuts down the Interbank Market - Naira oversold at N205/$1 |
This is a world class opinion piece which could easily have been an editorial. |
Him try. Beautiful pix Respect for what this guy has upstairs. |
You think they are insulting him? Let me tell you something. Even African countries ruled by dictators do not like him. For a country this rich to be held hostage by a corrupt cabal of less than 50, a terror group which was left to grow from nothing, criminal militants posing as freedom fighters ; he deserves every ridicule he get. A leader when challenged, should always rise up to the challenges to his constitutional authority by mobilising the country to meet those challenges. Jonathan was elected with a mandate never seen before in this country. Instead of consolidating his support base through good governance, good politics and transparent leadership, he went the opposite way by turning the country into an animal farm. He invited all sorts of evil people into the polity. For instance,Instead of winning the heart of the SW ACN with their army of technocrat who could have easily made his government work, he congregated an army of thugs and never do Wells like Fayose, Obanikoro,Bode George etc. Just Ben akabwueze alone would have given him a budget which actually made sense( unlike Iweala) Same thing for rivers and Edo. Just imagine if Jonathan had taken responsibility and assisted lagos state with the metro instead of another useless monument in Abuja called Abuja city tower. Just imagine if he has invested some of the money stolen under his government on lagos- ibadan high speed rail. Just imagine if he had added 10000MW to electricity generation. With the kind of money earned in the last 6 years, he could easily have done this with billions left to steal. He would have been slam dunking himself back to power. The SW would have simply told the north to take a chill pill. |
One thing for sure, he is of sound mind. Not like the psycho in power right now. |
Minimum wage ( per month)- using today's exchange rate Angola- $170 Nigeria-$90 Chad-$117.5 Congo-$105.75 Sudan-$119.08 @eggheader

Only a matter of time before those soldiers turn their guns on them. Those who refuse to learn the mistakes of history are bound to repeat those mistake. |
That is the official rate. Black market rate is like N250 to a dollar |
babs01:The idiotttttt from Nigerian labour Congress who betrayed occupy Nigeria during the fuel Subsidy protest. The clueless man should have been impeached at that point before doing damage to the country |
PhD ko PhD ni. I doubt the man even saw the four wall of a university. |
This guy is a nutter |
maestroferddi:Like every one in Jonathan's government. From Jonathan, all the way down |
I think general alani akinrianade answered these old foolz. |
I only read the first itemised paragraph to know this is bullock. Obasanjo did not spend $15 billion on power. The amount spent was less than $5 billion and this caused a fight between the governors and obj, when he told them that the expenditure was going to come out of the ECA. Let us assume that you are right, all the amount put together is not up to one third of the fuel Subsidy scam alone. In orders words, you can never banish corruption and I am not going to carry water for anyone but at what point does corruption becomes too much. At this point, if we only have to live with Conflict of interest, we would have made a lot of progress. |
Pls leave him there until after buhari's swearing in. I want to see this man in kirikiri uniform. |
The useless man was trying to saddle the SW with these thugs. He must fall. |
From Jonathan to Anenih to ofonagoro. They are all part of the abacha crew |
If he dies, we will vote for his corpse. |
Look at the hashtag you posted. Which of the two is positive and gives hope, which one is negative? Unless you are hung on tribal stuffs, elections are suppose to be a celebration of democracy. A prime minister or president is suppose to be a servant of the people. Now tell me what you think of a person who gives an order to prevent an aircraft in the air from landing? Is that person normal or just evil? 40,000 dead from boko haram attacks 3 million Nigerian refugees. A dysfunctional country N250 to $1 A country divided. Along ethnicity and religion by this president. An economy destroyed. Institutions of government destroyed Military handed over to terrorists and militias Ask your friends or family overseas what your age mates do from Monday to Friday. Your futures are being stolen and you are still undecided whether to kick out a failed president, who has reduced Nigeria into an object of international scorn, out of power. Many people are already refugees within the country. In fact, most people are destitutes. |
Jonathan is a goner |
This drunk is going to set the country ablaze. |
Now that is a commander in chief talk. |
Even better. Nigeria is a lie. It has always been a lie. As much as you like to deny it,Nigeria will always be dysfunctional. Odua states will grow out of the ashes of the deadbeat country. Government of the yorubas, by the yorubas for the yorubas. On Nigeria becoming a failed state, it is already one. Only the SW seem to be resisting the PDP type of governance. Most of the other parts of the country are conquered or failed territories. Absolutely Dysfunctional with little or no governance. E.g My local government ( not lagos)for example has more public schools than most states. |
I do not want to hear oil anymore. That thing in the hands of the useless leaders have been a curse. |
Jonathan is boko haram Boko haram is Jonathan. The only boko haram we see are Jonathan and his friends. They go anywhere and bombs follow them there. They have been setting off bombs in bayelsa during elections since 2000. Way before boko haram surfaced. From 2011 Another bomb went off at the Labour Party office in Yenagoa yesterday, shortly after Mr Timi Aliabe was declared the governorship candidate of the party. There was no report casualty. The blast occurred shortly after the party’s primaries where Alaibe was picked as governorship candidate the party. The Bayelsa Police Command’s spokesman, Mr. Egweavon Emokpai, confirmed that an improvised explosive device was used for the blast and that the police command is on the trail of the bombers. Meanwhile, the Labour Party has accused the PDP of being the masterminds of series of blasts to intimidate the party’s supporters in the state. Alaibe has vowed that “No matter the number of AK 47, bombs and attacks, that will not deter us from liberating our Bayelsa people from the grip of bad governance and backwardness.” By Okafor Ofiebor/Port Harcourt Culled from PM News. This is your country.

nwafuluozoh:Haha, playing the ostrich like in the first Republic,June 12 and now. Whichever way it ends, you lose. We win |
The coconut will fall on his head and he will not be there to partake in the banquet. |
