As I speak , many Nigerians in the diaspora have children in mission schools and who are being educated for free while they are at work .
The funding for those childrens' education partly comes from donation to the church .
If they fall sick , they will be taken by an ambulance run by Saint John's ambulance.
When they get to Saint Mary hospital , they are visited with donation and gifts by people from Saint Patricks Charity.
When they get well , they recuperate by swimming in a community swimming pool owned by our sisters of Christ for free.
All these benefits while not being a member of the church.
Meanwhile Nigerians have children roaming the street or not being properly educated while their parents head to church in the morning a working day to donate their dinner to a fake materialistic pastor/ or general overseer.

We are not sacking teachers governors, we are replacing unqualified teachers governors .

There is nothing wrong in pooling resources. Pooling resources form the basis of every great civilization and organised society. The concept being that we are able to do together what an individual is unable to do alone .
From the ancient Yoruba farmers cooperatives to the traders forum , these ideas have been practiced for ages.
the Anglican , Catholic, Methodist etc schools of yore (Go to most towns and cities in yorubaland, you will find missionary schools or hospital right behind these churches) were fully embedded in the local communities.
They were funded by the tithes and offerings of the local church (at times , by the international or national church) . Their aims beyond just preaching was the general well being of the community ( not church members alone)
These pastors and churches are nothing but one of the heads of the hyra headed monster unleashed by the application of IMF and world Bank policies on the country. They are hucksters. They preach individualism while misappropriating the pooled resources of their congregation. They suck those resources from the local communities into their headquarters where the money is spent anyhow .
You therefore find communities without electricity where church goers are happy to donate multiple times in resources to a church that doesn't care but find it hard to pooling resources together to buy a transformer or clear their drainage or build a community school.

Restructuring without altering the fundamental character of the country is as doomed to failure as the current system.
If the restructuring is only based on money , then failure is universally guaranteed. But if it also allows failure to be localised, then we are on to something.
