Bross howmany yorubas import spare parts, electronics, building materials, textiles, iron rods, aluminum, processed food, etc howmany? lets be honest.
I was in China December last year to buy goods, I know the people I saw in the trade fare. Im being realistic here.
The idea of importation is one of the things that is killing the country. Companies like Flour mills of Nigeria imports flour every day of the week. The numerous brewery in the SW do the same thing. Oil companies import petrol everyday, The Chinese import everyday,Omoluabis imports cars, textile building materials among let other things everyday.
The big players are responsible for most of the revenues from the port. It is the same for every country, company or business. Bulk importers or buyers provide a reliable and steady source of income. They are so reliable that they have standing facilities at the ports.

Multinationals are the ones killing the Ports cos the pay chiken change to the OGA at the Top why me and you pay extreme duty to the pockets of these OGA at the TOP aka customs.
You are dancing around ,Im struggling to get meaning or significance of your argument to the relative discussion. If the IGBO importers take their containers to ONE and ABA ports, would that not have significant dent on the Lagos ports??
Those are vain threat with no impact at all.
Yorubaland revenues for yorubas in the yoruba country .if your business pollutes our environment, your trucks destroy our road, the packaging of your goods litter our streets, then you should pay your taxes in yorubaland.
Anybody who does not like it can take their business elsewhere.

Osezua:
The press is one of our major problem in this country. Our mumu don do group are not Anti Buhari Protesters. The group are protesting against the continued stay of the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari in London asking him to resume or resign his office. why tag them as anti Buhari.
The fact that no jobber lawyer has taken up this case should tell you how retardedd and dumb the protest is.
Of all the things to protest.
I cannot remember when falling sick became a crime or an impeachable offence?
Is the president not in a sound state of mind?

Would have made sense if the protest was about the tax payer footing the bill for the president's illness.
But like everything with Nigeria, everything and everybody comes off like retardedd zombie.

Not to talk of the protest being led by Deji Adeyanju ( a thug with no redeemable quality) and Charlie Boy ( a failed man-child of a musician with suspect judgement)

read well again, I said %30 of revenue generated by the seaport, meaning people of the SW are not the main patronage generators of the seaport, you get me now?
The biggest players in the port are multi-nationals, big firms and demand generated in yorubaland ( those include yoruba owned firms . We will be happy to see a reduction in Port usage in exchange for peace.
The peace dividend is more than enough to offset the handicap of being in a country known as Nigeria.

None of the core problems afflicting Nigeria originates from the SW.
Absolutely None.
We carry our own weight.
Only Ekiti is somewhat of an economic dwarf in Yorubaland.

Yet some brain dead people will tell me to join hand together to make a dead country great.
Nigerians are used to dysfunction like the proverbial frog in a pot of boiling water.

would that not be taxing your own people? cos from where I stand I can confidently say each state can do all that, check you Biz base for Seaport, the SW do not account for %30 of it revenue.what else?Education? there are more schools elsewhere as you know, transaction? explain this one plz,Mining, what would that be, the major infrastructure of the country is Iron ore, well thats available too in other paces, but I give you that %30,so waht else?
We have been paying those taxes to a useless FG for donkey years.
Anybody who does not want to be taxed can take their business elsewhere.

The SW does not account for 30% of its revenue

You do not know how we economies work. You certainly do not know anything about the SW ecomomy.

Anyway we are happy to starve on our "less than 30%".
Everybody should just carry dem wahala go.

13% of revenues generated in the Southwest
VAT,
Corporate taxes,
Business taxes
fuel tax,
Land use including the use of our ports
education levy,
transaction tax
Mining taxes
And so on.

The young man has a point but i disagree with his assertion that Nigeria is a fraud. Yoruba is benefiting for being part of Nigeria just as nigeria is also very lucky having the yoruba as part of it. If Nigeria breaks or continue to be, it is a win win for the great yoruba tribe, we'll continue to make progress. There is no tribe in Nigeria that is not benefiting in one way or the other for being part of it,we are not enjoying equal privilege though,if that now warrant calling for the breaking of the country is the question begging for answer in my mind.
No,we are not benefiting from Nigeria.
Every indices of development started going south immediately after the crisis was Orchestrated by "you know who" in the the western regional parliament.
His point on the extraction of wealth from Yorubaland is right though.
Just 13% derivation would make a lot of difference.
But we are already at a point where it is better for everybody to go their separate ways.
PoliticsRe: Photos Of Man Injured By Buhari's Boys During Resign Or Resume Protest In Abuja by oduastates: 9:46pm On Aug 15, 2017
The fact that no lawyer has taken up a case against buhari's sick leave show the stupidity and partisanship of Charlie Boy's protest.
He was so obvious and in his absence under Jonathan.
A simple question , if you are sick and absent from work but can still function , do you lose your job because of the illness?
What exactly does the attention seeker do for a living ?
He thinks he is in yorubaland where there is tolerance for protest , even to display your stupidity.
Abuja , a place with a few rich men and lot of unexposed masses
This is one of the reason why I'm glad the capital was moved to Abuja
Men we need to get out of this damn country fast.

There is nothing wrong with reclaiming that part of Lagos .What was reclaimed was land that was eroded by the Atlantic in the last 40 years .

The economy is currently worse than Buhari met it!
The state is the true reflection ol of the Nigerian economy without $120 / barrel price of oil.
Those who could read between the lines got out of that shithole and got themselves a second passport when they could.

Ask yourself,
during the boom, what value was added to Nigeria to support the newly acquired taste for excessive luxury and 5 million new Nigerians (babies) every year.

In 15 years time , even $120 / barrel will not be enough to support y'all.

Jonathan 2010- 2015

PassingShot:
Jonathan remains the worst president to ever rule Nigeria.

He earned unprecedented billions of dollars and has practically NOTHING to show for it.

His five years and four months were a monumental waste. If he had any shame, he will hide his ugly face forever.
That man was a mistake.
I feel like punching somebody whenever he opens his mouth and come up with one of his clueless talk.
Nigerians are economic illiterate. Even those who are graduates have no knowledge of how government works or should work.
This is why they celebrate outright mediocrity.
Flyover,
Boreholes,
Public toilets
Rice
Solar Street light
Wonder stoves
Wheel barrows
Cutlasses
Hoes
Transistor radio
Camel
Town hall
Decoder
Sewing machine
And other things that do not lead to growth and development.

It is not rocket science. The pathway to development
beyond security are

1 Education
2 Infrastructure with power at the very top
3 Transportation
4 SMEs with full backing of the state and banks
5 Heavy industry ( steel, aluminium etc)
6 Market driven diplomacy

At one time, south Korea exported 1 million nurses to Europe to fund their development.

If NERC n FG are sincere, they should licence willing suppliers and importers of meters so that we can easily get the product at a fee, instead of waiting for eternity on the promise of the DISCOs to meter customers for free wc has never been implemented all in the bid to keep swindling the electricity consumers through crazy estimated bills.
The federal government needs to get out of the power business.
Let every state or region run its own power sector. Those who want the federal government to run it on their behalf can have it.

I am so glad we got rid of that Jonathan.
Did he really say that under him dollars was $180?
Was that not part of the problem?
An artificially inflated economy without the capacity to create the forex needed for her bloated taste for foreign goods.
During that same oil boom, Algeria accumulated $160 billion.

PoliticsRe: Metering Of Customers Not Exclusive Right Of Discos – Fashola by oduastates:
is this not a continuation of the fascism of Jonathan?
Why do we keep giving tax payers money to private business.
If the DISCOS cannot supply ordinary meter to their customers, withdraw their license.
If obasanjo had privatised the telecommunications sector like Jonathan did with electricity sector, we would probably be paying monthly levy for mast today

bankylan:
Sorry to say this that your ignorance must be pointed out. Buhari is not the one to say he wants Magu as a must.....Efcc should be independent of any arm of government.....that is how to build institution so that if corruption is found at the presidency, the EFCC chairman will have a free hand to do his work.....efcc chairman is only answerable to the Nigerian people...The presidency can nominate but it cant insist if other army of government finds something against him and can establish it...When it becomes contentious as we have now....the independent judiciary arm of government has to pass a judgement free of influence from both the presidency and the legislative. If the presidency has it all in selecting efcc chairman...the office becomes a tool to deal with political opponents and a refuge provider for the thieves in the government.
Ideally.
But show me one independent organisation in Nigeria.
Even your highest court and the entire Judiciary is compromise.
If Nigeria is ever going to move forward, it will require the will of just a single person or a few people. Not gonna happen with a citizenship with the average IQ of a gnat, curiosity of table and the awareness of the rice and beans.

Back and forth between Akure and Lagos as they fell like.

I'm not an Akeredolu hater but I expected more from him than all his galavanting up and down

It just shows how idle and non directional he's bn since he assumed office
Well put. You definitely know what I am talking about.

This is intelligence I look for when I interview people. People who can actually read the top, bottom and between the lines.
Just like when the useless governors build flyover where none is necessary or where it will destroy the aesthetic of a place. Some fools actually call it development
It took me less than a week to work this guy out.
This guy is just another mediocre governor like Mimiko.

Do you swallow all the bullshits spooled out by your VISIONLESS govt without using your own brain to dissect the authenticity.

At no time, in the history of Nigeria, has corruption been so systematized as under APC. all we know now is that Trillions are budgeted yearly and all we see is failure. Where did the money go?

Before, there was openness and corruption value chain is easy to trace, now secrecy is the order of the day.

Can you tell how the whole money budgeted for ministry of transportation went?

Can you tell about all other ministries?
