I'm dissapointed at you...do u know dat not every kid in somalia would get d hugh opportunity like urs to go on exile in America. So u should consider yourself blessed. Millions of other somalian_ children depend solely on d aid like d $6 the earlier guy donates monthly...this is actually what keeps them alive...shame on u if he actually stops donating because of u...I once almost shed a tear when I watched a charity advert about ur country...I had to thank God for the little I had...simply because u hav d money to buy an Iphone and school in OSU doesn't mean u should deprive ur relatives in somalia of their well needed aid... u might just have d blood of some hungry somilain kid on ur hands, simply because they won't feed tonight because u discouraged some donors...all for a dumb BET. ayanle456: I have won my bet. 10 pages have been reached. As for all of you i thank you for your cooperation. As for the guy whi said he donates money to somalia. Plz dont. Somali people will be more happy if you collect that money and open a plastic surgery center so you can fix your peoples big noses and lips. |
I see a lot of infiriority complex here...there is absolutly no need for any form of boycott whatsoever...when blacks were not allowed to sit in d front seats of buses in America, they didn't boycott the buses, rather they earned their right to sit in d front. |
Thanks for sharing...was it for graduate recruitment or professional? Thanks. maryini: I was interviewed by a panel comprising of a few departmental heads. The questions asked were technical. What happens to hydrocarbons when they escape into the atmosphere. What is fire point and flash point? What is the second law of thermodynamics? Alternative sources of energy? What is NDT (non destructive test)? I was handed a diagram showing different tanks and pump configurations then asked to choose which is the best position for placing the pump to move fluid from one tank to another. FInally, I was asked what safety meant to me. |
I understand that the increase in d required cgpa to be benefit in the LASU scholar program from 4.0 to 4.5 is quite harsh and maybe uncalled for...but in d VC words, "The reason is to seperate the men from the boys"...so don't be daunted...u could still boost ur cgpa to d required level...BTW if the required cgpa was 4.5 in my time, I would still have gotten d scholarship... So future Lasuite...get admitted and avail urself the opportunity of the scholarship, which would be well over 300k for u guys... Bliss ajasa4link: @amare i agree with on the issue of lasu getting better with result processing and provision of new structures, but i beg to differ on the issue of the scholarship. The new scholarship nothing but a fluke and an attempt to short change those students. Am also a scholar on the old scheme of 4.0 cgpa. You and i know that having 4.5 in a session in lasu especially in management sciences is like the proverbial camel passing through the needle's eye...or are u telling me if 4.5 was the benchmark in ur time u will be a beneficiary?... To be candid i think the review of the scheme was un-called for.... And even when one qualifies for the scholarship, the money is not always forthcoming due to beareucracy |
I did a course in 500 level "Operational Research"...it has answers to most of these questions...I was particularly interested in discounting techniques used to det present and future value...it has a very practical application in daily activities...unlike some other engineering elective courses... tanimola22: Very trivial input: |
Good day, I'm a recent mech grad with a "superior" undergraduate degree from a public uni in nigeria...I would be through with Nysc by june nxt yr...I intend to get into the o&g industry immediatly I'm done...I would like to know the things I could do btw now and june next year to improve my chances...already I have self taught myself SolidWorks, pipeflow, matlab, c++, autocad suite...I'm also a member of p/bodies like spe, asme... tanimola22: Many things in naija have always depended on whom one knows. |
Hello...I'm particular concerned with your statement about the 400,000 naira the government collects as tuition for medical student...its actually 350,000...believe me I've been to the lasuth...that fees paid there is cheap compared to the facilities u guys enjoy...very few medical schools in the "world" have facilities to compare...I'm very serious about this...ur laboratories have state of the art equipments...ur hostels are something else...70 inch tv's in ur fully aircondition common rooms, with italian leather sofa's....pls very feww schools treat their students like this...if anyone has been to the tiolet are muson center/sheraton lagos, it can't be compared to where u guy take a crap...and u are complaining about paying 400000...u need to study madcine abroad in maybe a school like "Yale"...u'll probably spend 30years paying off ur school loan... I believe LASG is doing a great job in d health sector...with the best facilities in this part of the world...well I have some friends in lasu's college of medcine...studying in dat environment would definitly invoke a supiriority complex in anybody...they'll probably expect to earn a million naira per month after graduating...but LASG can only work with what it has... Nonetheless...I look forward to when...engineers would also be respected in Nigeria...to d extent dat we can demand for a special civil service pay...then Nigeria will be a force to be challenge developed nations...after all, we built the 3rd mainland bridge, Aso rock, etc lol sartorius: M totally dissapointed in fashola 2nd term. Performance is poor. -I am a doc in lag. Lasg has escalated the problem, dissenting views among medical guild wud easily be rallied. The same goverments that collects close to 400,000 from med students in lasuth. Dr9ce is right lasuth house officerns earn abt 168 half of which no accomodation.Close to 12 states pay conmess, no excuses Lag iGR from ikeja Bola tinubu diagnostic centre within ayinke house is well enuf. |
Dy/dx (differential calculus)...is a branch of math that studies how one variable changes w.r.t another...it has vast appl in engineering e.g in a problem invovling finding the cetriod of a large irregular suface or the effect of wind on the entire span of a suspension bridge, u could easily pick a differential element(infinitesimal portion) of the large surface/bridge span...then you could easily solve this problem for d infinitesimal portion (dy/dy)...the solution could then be integrated to get the solution for the entire material... Often, the equations that are use to solve the differential element(infinitesimal portion) of the problem are called models and are therefore used to predict/study relationships; over larger areas, over larger period of time, etc...and thus u have the popular "modelling" term used in engineering. I hope I'm right...lol oremisussan: I was dazed when an interviewer asked this question at an interview I attended some days back. I did flop, I knew. So, I posted this discussion on a Nigerian engineers forum and was dazed by some mind blowing responses I got. In two sentences, you tell why Engineers study dy/dx. You may want to see answers to this question proffered by practicing engineers http://go.engineer-ng.net/forum/topics/why-do-nigeria-engineers-study-dy-dx-nigeria-engineering?xg_source=activity. Drop your response on this thread and maybe there. |
I'm wif u on this...its actually been pasted luvola: our mobilisation list was released ystrday.i graduated frm lasu and will b going for batch b service. |
I tire Oooº°˚ deshclones: lol..you have uniben, ekpoma, auchi poly, igbinedion and benson idahosa universities there nah...or na so education dey shack una there |
And I can proudly say...that in documented history, the decendants of great Ijebu people were the first to produce garri... |
And I can proudly say...that in documented history, the decendants of great Ijebu people where the first to produce garri... |
U'r smart...don't mind others...they neva see d big picture...and FYI batch B would hold...the keyword here is NY"service"C...soo u are ment to serve...Quad erat demonastradum AK 48: unfortunately,u ve to make up ur mind to teach,work/waste in local govt or work in ministry of no works. |
Hello T22 I appreciate ur posts...I would like u to explain what u ment by "superior" Bsc in Math...from a Nigerian uni... Thanks tanimola22: I confirm with 99.27% confidence that a chick I know, who graduated in 2009 from a naija school(zero abroad qualification), finished NYSC in late 2010 and got employed by Shell Nigeria in 2011(obviously as an entry level graduate) started out on a monthly wage of more than 500K, but less than 600K at Shell. She was picked ahead of others with big qualifications from anywhere you can think about. She had and still has only a BSc degree in Math, albeit a superior one. The said chick should not be more than 25. The said chick was already working for one of the major multinational accounting firms in Nigeria. I think she had worked for less than 6 months before Shell grabbed her. The said chick also got other offers from other top financial institutions there in Nigeria. I am not talking of our local banks O. I am talking of those multinational finance companies with branches in many countries of the world; those ones that will never think of paying a wage of 109 thousand naira. |
Chevron iz not a small company bro...it broke outta S.O and S.O's founder is still the richest man that ever lived...maybe up to 6 time richer than bill gate has ever been...his trust fund is over a 100 billion dollars... Soo u got ur work cut out for u, if u intend to out do JD Rockerfella...lol AjanleKoko: I say, actually. |
O'level math is kids play compared to engrn math...u should go for mech or elect they both hv d most math...try downloading Advance Engineering maths by HK Dass...then u'll know d heat u'r about to get urself into...lol Wemmy6284: I'm 17,In dis previous Jamb dat i wrote i scored an excellent mark,i chose Electrical Engineering as my first preferred course @ OAU, but i still have a strong desire to study Mathematics in d uni because of these reasons....(1) I'm so good in maths dat i score A1 in every maths exams i wrote and i'm considered best in d class nd even among d student in d school to d extent dat my mates in d class usually tell me dat it would be good for me to study maths in d uni..in d recent GCE i did i ave A1 in maths and further maths..I score at least 95% in all maths exams i did..Infact i did not just know it but i understand the concept...I even usually derive formulas independently, for example area of a regular hexagon 3a^2sin60 where a is the length of d side, any one can test it and compare it with normal work it out.<u can never find it in d text book> ,i find the distance between any two places on d earth provided they are on the same latitude but one must be at d south and the other at the north but d one at the north or south wil be at different longitude using the knowlede of mensuration, which i tested using a very long method but the answer is just d same with the derived formula and many more things ...i can 'tackle? any question in pure maths, not to use the word 'solve'<it seems like a gift>,.solving maths becomes my hobby and i do it in my leisure hour....But on the other hand I chose Electrical/Electronic Engnring because i just love engineering field nd with the combination of maths/further maths,,physics, chemistry, geography nd TD which are my best subjects i know i am fit in the field and i like solving peoples problem....SHOULD I go for UME change of course form b4 it closes..But i if not studying maths now i will still go for it after my degree in E.E engineering.. |
And this is somebody son Oooº°˚ .... Its people like this that their father works in a farm, and send the wood to his mother to sell...and then claims to everybody that his father is into Clearing and forwarding... God is watching him sha...lol |

. LNG, Shell, Total, Mobil, Eni and other MNOCs are great places to work. One just needs only 15-20 years at one of these places. Let's be hopeful.
