Yes true. Range of bids for 364days was around 15-18.24, but it stopped at 15.8%.

It was expected though. Some investors have already locked in on higher yields as they predicted the result of the last MPC meeting.

I was suprised to see rate go up slightly the last auction before yesterday after about a month of rate decline.

We will continue to see gradual reduction in rate across other fixed income instruments also. People will either lock in on available rate or diversify to other asset.

Whilst oversubscribed, the rates of range of bids were higher than the CBN was prepared to issue the TBills at... Interesting development... suggests continued efforts to bring rates down. Thus, I would be surprised if the range of bids at the next auction exceeds 16.5%

Funds are gradually moving to other assets. We have seen subscription few months back at around 4tr to 5tr, compared to yesterday's <2tr.

It's possible the range of bids hovers around 16.5%.
We might get to see rate before December at sub 16%.

At yesterday's PMA, N800bn was offered, N1.9trn subscriptions but only N70bn allotment, cos CBN wasn't willing to offer higher yields. N70bn should be the lowest allotment for this year.

Suprised when I saw the amount alloted. Why then did they offer 800b

NTB Auctions results

Rates increase slightly for longest tenure. I guess they were suprised when they saw the volume of subscription the last auction.

Hopefully, another slight increase next auction

The Koko is for everyone to know their risk appetite ooo. In fact Commercial Papers are still within the range of 18% but one needs to have the required minimum and have a huge risk appetite.

Similarly, with Fxed Deposit need a substantial sum to be able to negotiate a higher rate that the general average one. Also, the firms that give higher rate than the general average are mostly microfinance banks.

Bizarrely, both the 91 & 182 days were materially undersubscribed: less than 50% of the amounts on offer. Cardoso gave a speech last year or the year before that he was targeting single digit inflation. FGN Bond purchasers last year and early this year would be smiling

Bond holders are smiling while rates are falling.

Infact the amount of subscription for yesterday's auction was less than 2tr compared to over 5tr for last auction.

Monies are moving elsewhere.

I have since ported to do FD

You will have to wait for the next auction or go for the secondary market auction.

The minimum amount to bid is actually 50m, with less than amount you can still submit bid with some banks and investment house
