What I find is trying to get a visa from Nigeria is really hard. Those foreign missions are aware of all the challenges facing Nigerians. Even countries that are not first world countries make it difficult for Nigerians to get a visa how much more the first world countries.

Right about now, with Trump in power, many black people both indigenous and immigrant are feeling the heat of this administration. The only black people I know who keep praising Trump are Nigeria-based Nigerians. Nigerians will praise just about any white bigot so I am not surprised.

Trump wants an all white America and since Nigerians are not white, you shouldn't be surprised at the high rate with which you are denied U.S visa.

Try another country!
He has had some good popular policies like the tax reduction and before, the "racist" thing seemed like a label democrats and cnn placed on him to make him look bad but it's looking like the guy is indeed racist. He keeps doing extreme things. He's an extremist. I thought he was going to tone down after winning the election but as it stands the guy is taking America in the direction Hitler took Germany, trying to give Americans a superiority complex and negative nationalism. And he has really capitalized on unfortunate things like radical Islamic terrorism to peddle hate.

Best comment so far. If Madrid could treat Casillas, Raul and Guti like shit those guys did a lot for that club, CR7 won't be an exception. Other clubs treat their ex-players well. Real Madrid is a capitalist club.
funny thing is that this is what helps them win. I'm a Barça fan and I get annoyed when some players like Pique and Andre gomez are messing up but they keep using them when there are better guys available just because of Barça's family-like values. And this affects us many times and makes us lose. Sometimes our players are over-relaxed because they know it is Barça. See when we lost 3-0 to Roma after winning the first leg 4-1. In Madrid heads would roll for such a loss. You can't try that at Madrid because they will bench or sell your ass immediately and are ready to spend big to replace you. They will find a replacement very quickly. This is bad but it works for Madrid. They place winning over values. But players like Ronaldo do the same thing when they dive and win penalties. It's bad but when it works for you, I guess you'll say "who cares"

After getting my passport last month, when I read all these comments, I am still afraid of applying for a visa to the USA. I don't why I am damn scared.
be scared o, but still apply. But don't go thinking your it is sure cos if they want to deny you they will keep asking you questions until they find a reason to deny you. Just apply and know it's 50/50 for you. And don't duck up your chances of ever going to the US by presenting a funny application

It all boils down to the racist in the Oval Office. It's called Browning of America and that's why Trampy said that he prefers people from Norway to come to America instead of the people from shiiithole countries in which he specifically mentioned Nigeria. That's Trump way of sending subliminal messages to the embassies around the world.
but the person that denies the most at that Lagos embassy is a black woman. She fit deny her own mama visa sef as I see that lady.

I am asking this question with a heavy heart because a friend of mine told me his F1 visa application—as well as that of all intending students to the US—was denied this morning. He answered all the questions of the visa officer perfectly but he was still denied. He was aked if he is married and had kids, and he answered in the negative. Could his being single be a factor in the denial of his application? Or is there something else prompting the US embassy to deny Nigerians visas? I am really perplexed because my friend expended a lot of money to apply and gain admission to a US school. If the US doesnt want Nigerians to come to their country anymore, they can as well a formal and well publicized directive to that effect. The practice of swindling Nigerians of exorbitant visas fees must be deprecated and discouraged by the Nigerian Government.

According to my friend, all intending students for masters degree to the US were denied their visas this morning. Not even one was issued a visa. This is the height of visa discrimination and something must be done to remedy the situation. Nigerians cannot continue to waste their hard earned money to apply for visa that has already been denied by fiat of the authorities at the State Department(Foggy Bottom). We need clarity and honesty on this visa issue from US authorities. Enough is Enough. angry angry angry angry angry angry

Mods, do the needful, please.
tell your friend to get a full scholarship. He stands 90% chance of getting visa with this. That's what I'm working on.

i live in the US. I dont know what peoples intent are but just fyi many but not all Nigerians abuse visas by overstaying....go to atlanta n see how many nigerians are there on temp visa....
But isn't this visa issue the same thing as racial profiling. Think well about this. I hope those visa officers are reading. But really it's our fault, if we developed our country, we wouldn't be applying to go and study in another country.

He has nothing on CR7 who is the greatest of all time. If this one thinks he can replicate what he is doing in Barcelona, let him dare to leave them for another club. CR7 has proven himself over and over again every where and i am confident he will do it again in Juventus.
Messi doesn't follow Ronaldo, Ronaldo follows him. If Ron is good let him come and play for Enyimba. Prove himself to who, you're the only one living in denial. He can't leave because he presently can't be replaced. Your boy was kicked out by Florentino, there's no challenge in Juventus, they've won the league 7/7 or is he looking for league wins lool. The Messi effect. Ron is a sharp guy. Wuru wuru to the answer player, that's where he's better than Messi lol. The truth is the photo was controversial politically but that is not Ozil's problem. Where there is no law there is no crime. He broke no rules.

The German FA should have supported Ozil and maybe made very clear rules for the futureThose commenting here are ignorant of one key fact.

Turks are the largest single non German group in Germany and they are not really loved and that is the background to all of this
There is no officiial posture of the German government against Erdogan and there is no official bar to associating with him
it was controversial politically because it had one politician inside it but not controversial footballtically. Erdogan was democratically elected by the majority. People should respect other people's backgrounds and that's why he was pissed.

I think Ozil brought this on himself.

You don't associate with a character like Erdogan and not expect a massive backlash. It's just like taking a picture with Bashar al-Assad, claiming he's your root, while you play for Israel.

He was naive.

The deal breaker was when Joachim Low asked him to do a joint press conference to clear the air. Bros started beating around the bush.

Given his level of influence and reach, he should be more discreet next time.
bros if you were the one, you would do the same thing. He's a footballer not a politician. He was disrespected because he's an immigrant. You don't have to explain taking a picture with the president of your country of origin to anyone. Anyone who doesn't understand it's an ordinary picture is an immature fool and racist.

Hello good people.... The queen of silent followers association over here whup whup

July 21st, 7:30 I was interviewed by the beautiful black American Lady (the young light-skinned one), she was just so calm and focused and it really helped me regain my confidence. Whenever she asked a question I didn't have an immediate answer, I would say excuse me.... The time it takes for her to reply, I was already thinking up an answer. I did breathe-in-breathe-out exercise at the beginning.

She was just staring at me and smiling, not typing much.... I couldn't afford to fidget or flinch at any question.

I: Good morning ma'am

VO: Good morning, and how do you do?
I: I am great, thank you and you?

VO: good, good. pass me just your i20 and passport please. So what's your course of study?
I: Masters of social work at east Tennessee State University in Johnson city Tennessee

VO: what do you do now?
I: I am currently employed at xyz specialist center, a special needs school that caters to children with developmental disorders like autism, ADHD and Down's syndrome. As a program facilitator, my main duties are (she cuts me off, she was cross-checking with my DS160 throughout)

VO: so who would be sponsoring this trip?
I: I got a merit scholarship that covers 50% of my tuition, my great-uncle and sister would cover the rest of my expenses. Then she goes through my i20

VO: Why didn't you apply to more affordable programs?
I: well most of the other schools expect their MSW students to pick a concentration at the second year but since I don't have a BSW nor basic SW knowledge, I wanted programs that offer a generalist practice model where I would be able to experience every aspect of the profession

VO: any standardized tests
I: yes, I sat for the GRE with a score of 314 and IELTS with an overall band score of 8

VO: who would you be staying with? Do you know anyone that has applied to or attending this school?
I: I will be staying on campus at the Buccaneers ridge apartment and already made a deposit. No I don't know anyone at the school

VO: how then did you know about the school
I: I made use of the worksheet available on the EducationUSA website and was able to solidly define my priorities. Then I researched for schools using socialworkdegreeguide.com, usnews, mastersportal and gradcafe and I was able to shortlist the programs fitting my requirements.

VO: What other schools did you apply to and how many admits?
I: southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, University of Maine at Orono, Michigan State University at East Lansing, Ohio State University at Columbus and Georgia State at Atlanta. I was admitted by four of them.

VO: can I have bank statements to backup your claims (handed over my sis first, savings with over #11m) what does your sister do?
I: she is a level 13 civil servant with the Lagos State govt

VO: (just looks at front page of the statement), has she ever left the country?
I: No, she hasn't

VO: looks at my Uncle's (>$100k), where does he reside and what does he do?
I: He stays at Maryland and is a real estates agent

VO: how did he get to the US?
I: (laughing) he's my great-uncle and it would have been rude for me to ask him that, it was a long time ago even before my mum was born. From the stories passed down, I hear he was given a federal scholarship when he was in secondary school and later citizenship, I don't really know specifics, you know how stories can change when passed from generations to generations.

VO: (laughing along with me) congratulations, I would be approving your visa..... Blah blah DHL.... Blah blah i20.... POE
I: thank you ma'am, I do hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
VO: I hope so too, thank you

This is my second interview, was denied June 27th.... Will dig that up and post later.

It would be remiss of me not to thank the wonderful people of this thread especially Texrem (wonderful man with a beautiful soul), Sorelee, Walsprings, lagosismyhome, profojah, meritdee and sponge3.

Well, everyone is entitled to his opinion. i have giving u reasons why messi can never be mentioned in that categories of players. Club football is great, but the world cup is the greatest. bale is not in the world cup of which some of the faults are his. Shevshenko was able to help Ukraine qualify for the world cup wiyh a relatively weaker team compared to present wales team with ramsey, bale and other premier league stars. Maradona won the world cup with a relatively less quality players. Zidane led an unfancied french team to world cup glory. Ronaldo delima led a brazilian team that struggled to qualify for the world cup to win it in 2002.

Messi has been unbelievable, but he is still behind those guys
why do you say zidane led the team to victory. Deschamps led the team. Zidane scored only in the final. And France won because they had a great defense and because they hosted. Ronaldo's impact in 2002 was much greater than Zidane's in 98 though he had the support of fantastic teammates like ronaldinho, Rivaldo etc. But it's all subjective and I respect your opinion
Sports / Re: "Kylian Mbappe Better Than Thierry Henry At 19" - France Coach, Didier Deschamps by Oegbeyem: 9:11pm On Jul 21, 2018
ashacot:

Sometimes i wonder how we see and watch football and how we analyze it too.
Messi is a great player no doubt but the above players are very much ahead of him and.

Maradona, messi, delima, zidane pele are great and special players, but for u to be considered the greatest, you have to not only win the world cup, but lead your country to win it with your performance.

The world cup is the biggest stage and messi has never had an outstanding world cup of his own talk less of winning the biggest football tournament. You may say he won the golden ball 4years ago but you and i know messi only had a good group stage performance at that world cup.

The above players has done so. They shone on the biggest stage. they were the best players most of the world cup they played. You may argue that players like griezman, ozil, muller iniesta has won the world cup, but these players are not the very special players like the zidane, delinma, pele, maradona and Pele, messi, cruff, c ronaldo, de stefano, eusobio, pukas, best.

You may want to say messi has been consistent in the champions league, but so was alfredo de stefano, pukas, eusobio, cruff. And that is the reason why i mentioned messi in that category of players. They didnt win football biggest price or lead their country to winning it. but they are great players anyway.
The team you play for plays a role and the world cup is a short tournament. It's too short, just seven matches for the finalists, every other team plays less. The best of football is seen when the biggest European clubs clash, because that's where we see the most balanced teams face each other. Some players are unlucky and come from weak/unbalanced teams. Bale is one of the best 5 players in the world but he didn't make the world cup because of his team. Or do you think Griezmann is better than Bale. It's all subjective. The world cup is not all that matters. It's not absolute. Messi didn't have a bad knock out stage in 2014, Messi can play well without scoring. Some of his best matches in his career were matches he didn't score in. Messi was unlucky, a 113th minute Gotze goal denied him a gold medal when they had easy chances to kill the game before that. All in all Maradona has had the best world cup performance and was an extraordinary talent but all-round in football Messi has done more than him individually. Messi has played many positions, he has played 9, played 7 and played 10. He's a better goal scorer than Maradona. Dribbling they are both superb.
