They usually call Ibadan brown roof city, but many of them don't know that Ibadan is one among the fastest developing state in Nigeria. If you have money for real estate, It's advisable to go to Ibadan or Abeokuta. IMO! Aerodrome estate is the most expensive place in Ibadan.
I think Alalubosa GRA beats Aerodrome, sir.
Have personally been to the two.
Alalubosa has some of the choicest modern houses in Nigeria and it has the most expensive land after Lagos and Abuja.

Mind you I am not from southeast but I just don't like hypocrisy

As regards ritual killing the yoruba are the undisputed Champions to argue shows foolishness

You mentioned one shrine okija we read from their mud region years ago but daily we see ritual killings from all over the southwest either boy friend is killing girlfriend or boy friend used wife for rituals or alfa caught with human parts so leave that one .. you can still argue other things like fraud which you will still fail yoruba are the most fraudulent tribe in this nation

Yahoo is your main business . Who brought yahoo to my state (Edo state) and Nigeria as a whole nor be una?

See oga go siddon
Even ritualism is smelling from your moniker,OSU man.
Great ritualism is daily perpetrated by Igbos in Igbos-only-certified baby factories all over Nigeria. The remains of the babies are eaten by professionals in the art of cannies.

I know you just deactivated this account as you always do, but hold this in the meantime while I make time to get back to your criminal brother, Etinosa — aka, ayoola27.

Liar! No where does the above 1948 video documentary say that the Ooni of Ife is not a king but a priest. Neither was he introduced as priest.

You’re just simply being yourself — a fugly liar!! grin

Rather, the video states at timestamp 0:14 and I quote here below:

“The Ooni of Ife, spiritual leader of over three million Nigerian tribesmen, was one of the important arrivals”.

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=989866004541431

And that is accurate because all Yoruba kings (that is, including the Benin monarch) are considered in, Yoruba religious belief, to be demi-deities — ikeji-õṣà.

Since the Ooni of Ife is the leader of all the monarchs of Yorubaland, this fact thus rightfully makes him the spiritual leader of all Yorubas (and Binis).

Notice that this 1948 meeting which held in Lancaster house and entitled “The African Conference in London” had the Ooni of Ife representing Nigeria in his capacity as leader of the south-west ‘tribes’ — which included the Binis among others.

This leader of the then south-west ‘tribes’ was not deemed to be the Alaafin Oyo, nor was it deemed to be the Omonoba n’Edo, but rather the Ooni Ife.

Note that he wasn’t yet honored as a British knight at the time. Neither was he yet a Governor at the time. He simply represented Nigeria in his capacity as a tribe leader — a tribe which included the Binis.

In addition to the above 1948 documentary, the attached pages below are from a 1903 publication entitled “Native Crowns”.

These attached pages from the paper shows the published summary of a proceeding in which the Ooni of Ife was clearly and rightfully identified as the leading monarch for all of Yorubaland.

You translate sentences !

Stop debating what you don't know !
The most important thing.....

The only thing that is obvious here is that Lagos belongs to the Awori....Yorubas from Ife....but Benin came along and occupied the Island, becoming the ruler but not owning the land, reason they could not sell any land.
Later, the real owners, who are Yorubas, eventually took over their God given space which is Lagos.

And the Yorubas live happily ever after..

But some people continue to wail sadly ever after..

Not just that, these guys have never taken any serious class about translation. Everybody who did knows translating sentences is different from translating words. And that words which look alike in different languages may not have the same litteral meanings in both languages. Even in French alone, the word they keep talking about has several meanings.
So 'designent' means 'refer'?

Please, let us see where designent has ever been translated to refer, sir.

I say it clearly, I don't have the energy nor the time to go through your extremely long post. The original text is less than five lines and so is its translation. But you managed to concoct a bunch of lies numbering more than 70 lines.
“le capitaine Horseley nous l’a appelée Eco*, et c’est ainsi que la désignent les Ijebus”.

(1) Ulsheimer’s report as cited above states clearly that this settlement of the Bini immigrants was confined to only one island.

In other words, these Bini immigrants settled NOT on all the islands in Lagos, neither did they settle on the mainland.

(2) Ulsheimer’s report (as cited above) states clearly that this settlement of the Bini immigrants (which is on the island) was a frontier settlement.

In other words, this Bini settlement lies on the border of (at least) two other settlements on that island.

(3) Ulsheimer’s report as cited above names this settlement of the Bini immigrants as ”Lago”.

In other words, “Lago” was just one settlement (wherein the Bini immigrants lived) among others’ settlements on that island.

(4) Ulsheimer’s report shows that as at the year 1603 when he (Ulsheirmer) visited the island, he already met the Bini immigrants already living on the island — within a fairly large fenced settlement.

In other words, Ulsheimer was not an eyewitness to how the Bini immigrants first penetrated into Lagos from Benin.

In other words, he has no information (eyewitness or even otherwise) regarding whether the Binis penetrated into the island (from Benin) by warfare.

Neither does he have any information on whether they acquired the settlement from the native people by means of some peaceful negotiation.

(5) Regardless of how they originally acquired their settlement (by conquest or by peaceful negotiation with the natives) the settlement — as at the time of Ulsheimer’s visit — was already the exclusive property of the Binis.

(6) The only writings which came to make the first statements on the manner of acquisition of their settlement are writings from the year 1878, 1914, 1929, and 1952.

(7) The 1878, 1914, and 1929 writings are known by historians as the Lagos account — and these three all agree that the Binis acquired their settlement on the Island by means of a peaceful negotiation with the native owners, the Aworis.

[See attached for an excerpt from the 1929 recollection of the Lagos account].

(8 ) It wasn’t until the year 1952 (decades after the Lagos account have been published by British colonial authorities) that a Benin Chief by the name J. U. Egharevba came up with his reactive account that the Binis acquired the Lagos settlement by warfare.

(9) It is clear who was narrating an account unconditionally, and who woke up decades later (without any prior evidence) to react that it wasn’t so.

First of all, the last time I schooled you on the “Ooni” topic, you were caught pants down lying about why your Obas visit Ile-Ife when they’re newly enthroned.

You claimed your Oba Akenzua II’s visit to Ife was to greet the then Governor of Western Region — the Ooni.

However, I disgraced you by demonstrating that the Ooni wouldn’t be made Governor until three decades later.

And how did you react to the disgrace? The same thing you do when in shame. You deactivated your account and fled in shame.

Moreover, I have already debunked your reta.rded unsubstantiated claim into silence on this same page. Thanks for helping me bring it to this current page.

Having debunked that, I like to add that: The oldest known written evidence of “Oba” for your a Benin monarch is in the 1860s.

Whereas, we have seen an 1845 usage of “Oba” for Yoruba monarchs. LMAO!

The link below debunks the lies of the Benin lying machines and exposes the fact that the word “Oba” was borrowed by the Binis from the Yorubas.
