The police have arrested one Olawalw Raji a medical doctor, alongside one Funmilayo Olesugn a nurse for allegedly causing the death of a pregnant woman after an abortion they had conducted, went wrong.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer confirming the story, told journalists that the suspects were arrested on the 26th of July after the sister of the deceased made a complaint.

Speaking on the arrests, she said;

“Police in Ogun state on the 26th of July arrested one Dr, Olawale Raji and a nurse Olusegun Funmilayo for carrying out an abortion that led to the death of one Aminat Iyanda Atisola.

“Their arrest followed a complaint from the the sister of the deceased one Bose Kazeem f’ of no 6, ireakari St Atan Ota.”

The deceased one Miss Kazeem, was reportedly two months pregnant when she engaged the services of the suspects who work in a private hospital to aid in eliminating the pregnancy.

“She stated further that the suspects carried out the unlawful act right inside the house of the deceased.”

He added that trouble started when the deceased started having complications shortly after the abortion. She was rushed to the Federal Medical Center Abeokuta for treatment but died on the way.

“On receiving the report, the DPO Onipanu Division SP Sangobiyi Johnson led his team of detectives to the scene where the two medical practitioners were promptly arrested,” he said.

Mr Oyeyemi stated that the corpse of the 35 years old deceased has been deposited at the General Hospital morgue, Abeokuta for postmortem examination.

He said the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.

“He equally warned that abortion remains an unlawful act and whoever caught engaging in it without any medical justification will have the law of the land to contend with.

“The Commissioner further appealed to members of the public to always seek lawful professional advice on any health related issue.”

Abortion is largely illegal in Nigeria thus putting thousands of women at risk as they try to get an abortion through unsafe means.

The 23-year-old female youth corp member, Linda Igwetu, that was shot down by a trigger-happy policeman identified as Benjamin Peters, has been laid to rest.

Linda reportedly bled to death at the Garki General Hospital, Abuja after being hit by a bullet released from Benjamin’s gun on the 4th of July, despite all efforts by the surgeon on duty to keep her alive.

Linda was reported to have gone out with some friends to celebrate the completion of the compulsory one-year youth service required of Nigerian graduates. While returning back home, Linda and her friends reportedly refused to stop at a police checkpoint when Benjamin Peters opened fire on the car they were in.

The police officer trying to defend his actions alleged that he heard someone scream kidnappers, thus prompting to offload his gun on the escaping vehicle.

23-year-old Linda was, however, unlucky as she met her demise just a few hours before her passing out parade, and before she could achieve another milestone towards becoming a functional member of the Nigerian society.

Linda Igwetu was laid to rest on July 28 in her hometown in Ukpor, Nnewi South local government area of Anambra state.

For the second time in less than two weeks, Senator Dino Melaye has seen his constituency project destroyed for the second time.

The lawmaker representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, suffered a blow early last week when his constituency projects in Lokoja were burnt by thugs suspected to be sponsored by politicians.

The latest project that was vandalized, is the skills acquisition project situated at his country home, Ayetoro Gbede, in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Daily Post reports that the skills acquisition project facilitated by the embattled lawmaker in Ayetoro Gbede was vandalized by unidentified hoodlums.

Elder Olorunfemi Ezekiel Adekunle the national president of Ayetoro Gbede Development Association, (AGDA), confirming the incident, stated that the vandalization was carried out at night, with several attempts made to set the place ablaze.

Elder Adekunle, who described the act as not only wicked, said that the hoodlums in their dark mind thought that they are destroying Senator Melaye but forgot that they are destroying community asset.

He revealed that the community has officially reported the incident to the Nigeria Police and have met with their monarch, His Royal Highness, Oba Ehindero on the need to stop the further attack on the centre.

According to him, the services of vigilante have been engaged to watch over the place and called on the people of the area to report any suspicious movement around the area.

As many as 22 men, including security guards, elevator operators and plumbers at an apartment complex in Purasawalkam area of Chennai, allegedly raped an 11-year-old girl with a hearing disorder for over seven months.

18 out of the 22 men have been arrested for the continuous rape of the 11-year-old school girl.

The hearing-impaired girl was allegedly sedated and given spiked soft drinks by the accused, which include the building’s security guard and lift operator.

The men, aged between 23 and 66 years old, made videos of the crime, blackmailed the girl and threatened her with dire consequences if she approached the police.

The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the city police on Sunday after the girl narrated her ordeal to her elder sister.

“We arrested all the 18 accused for the heinous crime,” a local police office said on condition of anonymity.

“They sexually assaulted [her] multiple times in a storage room on the building terrace over the past seven months.”

The accused appeared before a court that sent them to jail pending trial.

They have been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The Indian government recently approved stringent punishments for sexual violence against children, including the death penalty for those convicted of raping girls younger than 12 years.

The decision came amid spiralling outrage over the rape and killing of an eight-year-old girl in Jammu and Kashmir and several other cases of sexual assault involving minors in recent months.

The identified suspects include security guards Murugesh, 54, Palani, 40, Abishek, 23, Sugumaran, 60, Prakash, 58, and Umapathy, 42; elevator operators Ravi Kumar, Paramasivam, 60, Dheenadayalan, 50, Srinivasan, 45, and Babu, 36; plumbers Jaiganesh, 23, Raja, 32, Surya, 23, Suresh, 32; an electrician Jayaraman, 26; a housekeeping employee, Rajasekar, 40; and a gardener, Gunasekar, 55.

A Policeman believed to be under the influence of alcohol shot 32-year-old Victoria Ekpe to death at a close range on Sunday at Ikot Ansa in Calabar Municipal Area of Cross River State.

An eyewitness who declined to give her name said the victim was shot on the neck and she died on the spot.

She alleged that the suspect was shouting, “I feel like shooting somebody” and ended up shooting the victim.

When DAILY POST visited the family home of the victim at Joseph Mkpa Street, Ikot Ansa community in Calabar Municipal, our reporter met a large crowd of sympathisers.

The suspect, Sergeant Edu Nkanu, from Abi Local Government of Cross River, allegedly returned home drunk from a party at about 8.30 pm on Sunday with a locally made pistol in his pocket.

Another eyewitness, Elizabeth Bassey, said Sergeant Nkanu came home drunk from a party and when she asked him why he always comes home drunk, he brought out a pistol from his pocket and pointed it at her, but sensing danger, she ran but her late cousin who never took part in their discussion was shot.

“On Sunday around past five in the evening, myself and my late cousin went out and came back by 8.30 pm, she stood outside pressing her phone while I went in to change.

“By the time I came out, she was still standing there, fiddling her phone and she asked me what was going on inside the room and I told her nothing and she asked me I sprayed perfume and I said yes,” she said.

The eyewitness further said, “At that particular time, the policeman came back from an outing and our mummy was also outside, Mma asked him what he brought from his outing, he told her he did not come home with anything, he left Mma and came to the passage where I was standing,

“I asked him why he always gets drunk anytime he goes out, immediately, he turned and brought out a pistol from his pocket cocked it and pointed it at me, saying this is what I brought from the party. I got scared and ran and my dead sister who was just busy with her phone, not knowing what we were discussing, he turned the gun to her direction and shot her at her neck”.

The elder Sister to late Victoria, Ekanem Ekpe, said her sister was killed in front of her 6-years old daughter, Blessing who drew her attention to the death of her mother.

“This is her daughter Blessing, and she was standing by the mother when she was shot. I was inside when I heard the gunshot but I did not come out immediately until when I heard the daughter screaming, ‘uncle you have killed my mummy’ that was when I came out.

“Behold my sister was lying down dead, blood was gushing out from the side of her neck. I saw him with a gun and I said, ‘Nkanu, what happened, you have killed my sister, he was just staring at the gun and at my sister, all he could say was, Mma Nurse, I don’t know what happened.

“That was when I held him and started shouting; people came out and managed to collect the gun from him. I don’t understand why a police officer would rather take people’s life instead of saving lives.

“We were told at the police station that he had killed someone like this before where he was serving in Obubra. He has a criminal file in Police custody before now. Please, we want justice for my sister,” She lamented.

When contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer, Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident and promised that the culprit would be dismissed and tried in the court of law.

“The Policeman has been arrested, he is in our custody and we are going to deal with him decisively because the gun that he used to shoot the deceased is not our gun. It is a locally made pistol so he is going to tell us where he got that gun and who ordered him to shoot an innocent woman.

“There was no quarrel between them as we were told. Although we heard that he was used to threatening people in the house. We are going to try him for murder, dismiss him and send him to court.”

According to a report published by TMZ, Justin Bieber proposed to Jessica Baldwin after dating for just one month.

The corpse of Miss Adenike Khadijat Oluboyo, the daughter of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo, was found in her boyfriend’s house in Akure on Sunday.
Miss Khadijat who is a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, was found dead in the house of one Mr Adeyemi Alao, popularly known as Q.S, who is also reported to be her boyfriend.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ondo command, Mr Femi Joseph, while speaking to the News Agency if Nigeria, described the incident as an unfortunate one.

 “It is not a rumour but it is a fact that the young lady was found dead this morning and it is saddening and very unfortunate.

“We are on it and trying to get some facts but the Commissioner of Police will brief the press about the details in another 48 hours,” Joseph said.

A woman identified as Christiana Eze, has been arrested by the International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA for bathing her 13-year-old housemaid, Beauty with hot water.

The 31-year-old housewife who resides in Rivers State, reportedly poured the hot water on her maid for sleeping on her couch.


The 13-year-old maid who hails from Edo State, reportedly who was accustomed to sleeping on the ground, resorted to sleeping on the couch as a result of the cold weather on the day of the accident.

Lailasnews reports that Christiana was arrested on the 3rd of July after she pushed the girl to go to school, with the injuries she sustained from her evil actions. She, however, ran out of luck as the girl’s teacher on seeing the injuries, filed a report against her.

The maid narrating her ordeal with her Christiana, stated that she had also used a belt to flog her own the same spot where she had poured the hot water on until her skin peeled off.

Neighbours corroborating Beauty’s story, stated also that the maid’s experience for the two years she had spent with her madam, was nothing but torment and torture.

A security man who also corroborated the Beauty’s experience with Christiana, revealed that he occasionally gave her food, as she only eats once a day.

Investigations into the girl’s living condition with her boss, revealed that she had no room in the house, and her luggage was left under the staircase, where she usually dressed up.

The Nigerian Police of the Federal Capital Territory Command, has arrested the trigger-happy police officer identified as Benjamin Peter who reportedly shot a member of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps, Linda Igwetu, in early hours of Wednesday.

It was gathered that detectives of the forcehad commenced investigation into the death of the 22-year-old, who was shot while driving with two of her colleagues around Ceddi Plaza, Central Business District, Abuja.

Following the death of Baidian’er, thousands of Chinese have taken to social media to pour their grief over the loss of the psychic cat.

It was quite a scene in Maiduguri, Borno state capital as men of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), who were deployed to the troubled state on special duty took to the streets, barricading the highway to protest six months of unpaid allowances.
The police officers were reportedly deployed to  Borno state from various units across Nigeria to help in the fight against the insurgency rocking the state.

Premium Times reports the police officers created chaos and a state of confusion at the state capital, as they were reported to be shooting into the air on Monday morning, causing motorists who were close to the scene to take to their heels and scamper to safety.

One of the Police officers who spoke to Premium Times on condition of anonymity said:

“WE CAN NO LONGER TOLERATE THIS; FOR OVER SIX MONTHS NOW WE HAVE NO ALLOWANCES NOT ANY DECENT ACCOMMODATION; WE SLEEP ON CORRIDORS OF OFFICERS AND SOMETIMES IN THE OPEN AIR; ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”.

When contacted through a telephone interview, the State's Commissioner of Police, Damian Chukwu, said that the police was aware of the situation, explaining further that the unpaid allowances, was as a result of the delay in the signing of the 2018 Budget.

The Oyo State Government have shut down Bodija market, Ibadan following the clash between men of the Nigerian police and butchers.

The market was shut down after gunshots were heard and the shut down was publicized through the verified twitter handle of the Ooyo state government.

The tweet added that the chairman of Aare Laatosa Local Council Development Area, Adekunle Oladeji, said the closure was to prevent the loss of lives and property.

“IT IS ALSO TO GUARD AGAINST THE ESCALATION OF VIOLENCE IN THE MARKET TO OTHER PARTS OF THE STATE.”

The state government had directed that the butchers should relocate to a new abattoir outside the town but the butchers did not agree with the directive.

On Tuesday, the butchers staged a protest at the state secretariat in Ibadan over the demolition of the abattoir in the market by the government over the weekend.

The clash began when some of the butchers accused their leaders of taking gratification from the government to support the relocation order.

The clash led to the closure of shops in the market while traders vacated the market because of the commotion.

Miyetti Allah has claimed that the loss of over hundred lives in Plateau State, was a retaliation by cattle herders.

On Sunday evening, The Diurnal reported that there was an outbreak of violence in Plateau State, which was as a result of the unaccounted number of persons killed by the Fulani herdsmen.

The police, however, only confirmed the death of 11 persons at first, but later admitted that the death had risen to 86. Locals in the affected regions are, however, disputing the death toll record published by the police, stating that over 200 persons were killed in the wake of the massacre during the weekend.

To prevent the breakdown of law and order in the state, the state government imposed a dawn to dusk curfew in the affected areas.

Residents have blamed the attacks on the dreaded Fulani herdsmen a group represented by the Miyetti Allah.

On Monday, Danladi Ciroma, the chairman of the north central chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), condemned the attacks, he, however, stated that the attacks were 'retaliatory'.

Mr Ciroma's statement reads:

“THESE ATTACKS ARE RETALIATORY. AS MUCH AS I DON’T SUPPORT THE KILLING OF HUMAN BEING, THE TRUTH MUST BE TOLD THAT THOSE WHO CARRIED OUT THE ATTACKS MUST BE ON REVENGE MISSION,” HE SAID.

“FULANI HERDSMEN HAVE LOST ABOUT 300 COWS IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS – 94 COWS WERE RUSTLED BY ARMED BEROM YOUTHS IN FAN VILLAGE, ANOTHER 36 COWS WERE KILLED BY BEROM YOUTHS. IN ADDITION TO THAT, 174 CATTLE WERE RUSTLED.”

Plateau State is reportedly in a state of tension as the state government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew as attacks are being carried out in various parts of the state.

The cause of the violence is reported to be a protest carried out by the locals in response to the deaths resulting from the attacks being carried out by the dreaded Fulani herdsmen.

The state government have, however, imposed a 6 a.m to 6 p.m curfew to prevent the break down of law and order in the state.

A statement by the Secretary to the Plateau State Government, Rufus Bature, said the curfew is to prevent further loss of lives.

“The Plateau State government has imposed curfew in Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Jos South to avert a breakdown of law and order,” Mr Bature stated.

“Movement is restricted from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., except those on essential duties.”

Security agencies have been directed to curtail the protest and the outbreak of violence in the state.

Five activists putting on a play about the horror of human trafficking were allegedly abducted and gang-raped at gunpoint in India’s eastern state of Jharkhand this week, police said on Friday.

The women, who work with a non-governmental organisation (NGO) supported by local Christian missionaries, were staging street plays against human trafficking in Khunti, a predominantly tribal district on Tuesday when they were attacked.

A local police officer speaking on the condition of anonymity said:

“AS THE PLAY WAS IN PROGRESS, A GROUP OF SIX ARMED MEN CAME ON BIKES AND BEAT UP THE MEN ACCOMPANYING THEM.

“THEY THEN TOOK THE WOMEN AWAY AT GUNPOINT TO THE FORESTS NEARBY WHERE THEY WERE SEXUALLY ASSAULTED."

The victims, aged between 19 and 35, were later released.

They filed a police complaint on Wednesday, while police arrested one of the suspects on Thursday and detained several more for questioning.

Medical tests to confirm the sexual assault were being conducted.

Police said the attackers were supporters of Pathalgadi, a tribal system that considers the village council the sole authority governing the village and which does not recognise the state’s authority.

“THE HEINOUS CRIME WAS COMMITTED APPARENTLY BY SUPPORTERS OF THIS MOVEMENT, WHO WANTED TO SEND A MESSAGE TO NGOS AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO STAY CLEAR OF THEIR VILLAGES."

Media reports said the rapists made a video and used it to threaten the women with exposure if they complained.

Attacks on women, particularly sexual violence, have been a focus in India since the fatal gang-rape of a student on a bus in New Delhi in 2012 triggered mass protests.

Olashile Abayomi was saved from disgrace after an okada man (bike rider) helped her cover her unclothedness.

Twitter user @FireOFola narrated how an Okada man who saw her skirt had torn at the back, stopped to help her.

The bike rider even went as far as removing his shirt to cover her unclothedness while it was raining.

Overwhelmed in emotions Abayomi bursted out in tears under the rain before heading to a customer's shop to get another shirt foe the bike rider.

Expressing her shock over the man’s act of kindness, she asked to know why he helped her, and responding to her question, he said he saw her as a good person who would do same for another.

Abayomi saying thank you in her own little way, slipped an undisclosed gift into his pocket.

In an era where ladies are being assaulted and catcalled, this serves as a beacon of hope, that good men still exist.

A police officer has been reportedly killed during a clash between members of the Islāmic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), better known as Shi’ites and members of the Nigerian Police Force, which also led to so many of them being injured with two reportedly dead.

Members of the Islāmic group had trooped out en masse to witness the trial of their leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, at the State High Court.

Armed Security personnel, had reportedly sealed off major roads which led to the court and prevented journalists from gaining entrance into the court complex to prevent the peace and quiet of the court from being disturbed.

Chaos and commotion, however, broke out as members of the Islāmic group picked up stones and other deadly weapons and started attacking police officers positioned to make sure the security of the area.

The police officers in response to the violence, release teargas canister to scare them away and quell the situation. This, however, proved futile as the protesters who had trooped out en masse failed to withdraw.

Aliyu Mukhtar, the spokesman of the Kaduna police command, said the deceased officer died after being hit by objects thrown at him by the Shi’ites.

“IT WAS A LARGE CROWD, THE SHIITE MEMBERS AS USUAL WERE HIDING IN THE MIDST OF PEOPLE AND WHEN OUR MEN WERE TRYING TO DISPERSE THEM, THEY STARTED THROWING STONES AT THEM,” HE SAID.

“THE POLICEMAN WAS HIT WITH STONES SEVERAL TIMES AND HE FELL DOWN. HE WAS TAKEN TO THE BARAU DIKKO SPECIALIST HOSPITAL WERE HE GAVE UP.”

Eleven Shi'ite members were reportedly immediately arrested, while the police tried to bring the situation under control.

Femi Falana (SAN), counsel to Zakzaky, told reporters that the court did not sit and the case was adjourned till July 11. He also condemned the decision of barring journalists from the court by the Police, stating that it was public.

“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN YOU ALSO HAVE A DUTY TO INSIST ON BEING PART OF THIS TRIAL BECAUSE IT IS A PUBLIC TRIAL. IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO COVER THE PROCEEDINGS” HE SAID.

“WHAT HAPPENED IN COURT TODAY IS THAT, THE COURT DID NOT SIT. WE WERE INFORMED BY THE REGISTRAR OF THE COURT THAT HIS LORDSHIP, JUSTICE GIDEON KURADA IS INDISPOSED. IN THE CIRCUMSTANCE, WE HAVE TO TAKE A DATE, THE PROSECUTION AND DEFENSE COUNSEL HAVE AGREED TO COME BACK ON 11TH JULY TO HAVE POSSIBLY THE ARRAIGNMENT AND FILE AN APPLICATION FOR BAIL FOR OUR CLIENT.

“SO, THAT IS WHERE WE ARE. WE DON’T KNOW THE REASON THE JUDGE IS NOT IN COURT BUT WE WERE TOLD HE WAS INDISPOSED.”

Unconfirmed reports also alleged two members of the Islāmic group were killed during the attempt to quell the violent situation by the police.

Antoine Griezmann has extended his stay at Atletico Madrid to 2023 after signing a five-year deal.

Griezmann has committed his future at Atletico Madrid with a five-year deal a few days after playing down any interest from Barcelona and making it clear that he will love to stay at his present club.

Atletico fought hard to keep the French international who has been sought after by Manchester United, and Barcelona.

Griezmann was offered £17.5m to stay and the promise of a £100m improvement of the squad to compete for next season’s top titles.

Thomas Lemar is set to be the first of those arrivals, with Atletico, confirming they have agreed terms with the player and the deal is now only subject to him passing a medical and finalising terms with Monaco.

The two clubs had reportedly reached a preliminary agreement over Thomas Lemar last week.

Griezmann, currently with the France squad at the 2018 World Cup, has now demonstrated his commitment to Atletico by adding another year to his contract after meeting with the club’s chief executive, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, in Russia.

Griezmann has been excited by the project Atletico and manager Diego Simeone have built since 2011. Under Simeone, Atletico has won a La Liga title, Copa del Rey, two Europa League trophies and a UEFA Super Cup.

Greizmann scored in France’s opening game of the tournament, a 2-1 win over Australia.

His team-mate for club and country, Lucas Hernandez, also penned a new deal until 2024 after the meeting.

A retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Pius Olayiwola Aderemi CON, is reportedly dead after a brief illness.

Justice Adeyemi kicked the bucket, on Monday morning at a hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State after a brief illness

A statement issued by his son, Olakunle Aderemi, described Justice Adeyemi as a ‘devoted Catholic, defender of the law and an exemplary and incorruptible jurist’ of Nigeria’s apex court.

Aderemi, 80, was at a time, a member of the National Judicial Council, member of the Body of Benchers of Nigeria, and was a Papal Knight of St. Gregory the Great.

Aderemi was nominated by former President Goodluck Jonathan in December 2010 to head the Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), but he was rejected by the Senate on account of his age, as he was 72-years-old at that time.

XXXtentacion (born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy) was shot dead yesterday by two men unidentified black men in hoodies.


The rapper was ambushed and killed in Miami by two black males who were reported to be wearing hoodies, while the shooter wore a red mask.


The shooters reportedly came in a black SUV.
Another story is that he was leaving the dealership when a ‘gunman driving a black Dodge Journey ran up to his vehicle and shot him’. Multiple gun shots were heard.

The incident has been classified a drive by shooting.

The car used was a Black Dodge SUV with tinted glasses, and black wheels.

Witnesses report that the shooter took a Louis Vuitton bag from the 20-year-old rapper’s car after opening fire at him multiple times.

A record number of 32 persons have been killed while 84 others injured after six female suicide bombers hit Damboa Local Government Are in Borno State.

NAN, however, reports that according to some locals, the death toll increased as a result of a misfiring from the Nigerian Army’s artillery, this has, however, been denied by the Nigerian Army.

A witness Malam Buba Shettima giving his statement said that two separate bomb blasts occurred in Shuwari and Abbachari, at about 8:30 p.m.

“The whole of Damboa was shaken by the unfortunate incident. We all scampered for safety as the blasts were coming from different directions. There were bodies everywhere.

“We suspected that the many deaths recorded were a result of the military artillery.”

Another local Mohammed Hassan, corroborating the claim, said:

“At about 8:30 pm of on Saturday night, an attack suspected to be from an artillery killed 31 innocent people in Damboa Shehuri and Abachari.

The attacks came from two separate directions. My house was among some of the houses destroyed.”

Maj.-Gen. Rogers Nicholas, commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, denied the claim, saying the killings were caused by suicide attacks and not military artillery.

Avengers: Infinity War created a record of making over $2 billion in just forty-eight days and also being the third consecutive Avenger's movie to hit $1 billion.

Avengers: Infinity War is also the fourth movie to hit $2 billion at the world Box office, with Avatar hitting $2.79 billion, Titanic $2.19 billion, and Stars Wars: The Force Awakens $2.07 billion.

Avengers: Infinity War, holds the record of being the fifth highest grossing movie in the United States recording $656.1 million at June 11. It also holds the record as the biggest debut ever in the United States with $257.7 million in its opening weekend on April 27 to April 29, topping “The Force Awakens” by nearly $10 million.

Internationally, it is the third-highest grossing release ever with $1.346 billion, and its combined debuts both internationally and in the United States set a record of $640.5 million. Spanish champions, Real Madrid have ended their search for a new coach as they appoint Spain's Julen Lopetegui as Zidane' successor.

Real Madrid announced the appointment of 51-year-old Spain's coach, Julen Lopetegui as the successor or Zinedine Zidane, and he will pick up the reins of coaching the club immediately after the world cup.

Julen signed a three-year deal at Bernabeu that will see him remain at the club till 2022, just a few weeks after extending his contract to be Spain's coach to the end of the 2020 European Championships.

Real Madrid announced Julen's appointment as the club's new coach on their website with a statement that read:

Two persons have been reported dead, while others have also been reported injured after a suicide bomb attack carried out in Borno on Monday morning.
A male suicide bomber strapped with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) reportedly killed himself and another person, while injuring four others at a security formation at Baga road area in Maiduguri.

The attack was reportedly carried out by 1 a.m on Monday Morning.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations in the state, Mr Wakil Maye while speaking to NAN on the attack said that the bomber was intercepted by the CJTF, who sighted the bomber from a distance.

“WHEN HE COULDN’T REACH HIS TARGET, HE QUICKLY DETONATED THE EXPLOSIVES, KILLING HIMSELF, ONE CIVILIAN JTF AND INJURING FOUR OTHERS."

The Police Explosive Ordinance Device (EOD) team were later deployed to sanitise the scene.

Malam Bello Danbatta, the Spokesperson of the CJTF, also confirmed that one of its members was killed by the suicide bomber while defending his country.

Danbatta said that the bomber was targeting Muslim faithful performing midnight (Tahajjud) prayers of the last 10 days of Ramadan.

The injured were reportedly evacuated to the State Specialist Hospital for medication while the male deceased was handed over to his family for burial.

President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow 10 June embark on a two-day working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The visit, which is at the invitation of King Mohammed VI, will see the two leaders discuss socio-economic matters affecting their countries, following prior engagements in December 2016, during the official visit of the king to Nigeria.

In Rabat, discussions will focus on strengthening existing agreements on the fertilizer industry, education cooperation, the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline project and establishing a basic chemical platform to harness Nigeria’s vast natural gas resources and support Morocco’s diammonium phosphate industry.

In December 2016, Nigeria signed a collaboration agreement with Morocco to revive the abandoned Nigerian fertilizer blending plants.

Since then 14 plants have been revived so far under the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI); with a total capacity of 2.3 million MT of NPK fertilizer.

The President will be accompanied on the trip by Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State and some other senior government officials.
