Johnnie ZM: Wrath of God fall on me for saying the truth? I have proof my guy rock solid ones! Even St Paul after his conversion faced the Pharisees because he was once a pharisee. I was born a Catholic but unlike you refuse to die a Catholic, I attended Catechism, took first Holy Communion, did Confirmation, almost got listed to be a priest by dad, member of the legion of Mary, foundational leader of block rosary in my local area then, a staunch Catholic...what other proof do you want?

Am not surprised, ur lik Judas Iscariot who sold him Jesus.

Johnnie ZM: Which Holy Spirit? Abeg don't even let us go to that area...is the Holy Spirit in the Catholic Church? Purgatorian doctrine is one from the pit of hell, Jesus died for all of us so that we can live a holy life through him. God says in Lev 11:44 and 1 Peter 1:15-16 that be ye holy as your father in heaven is holy, so it means your purgatory is void if the Lord can say that. Let me sound this again unless you give your life to Christ and live holy, if you die in your sins hell is your home- a place of torment where their worms and flames die not. Again you said the Catholic Church has been around for long, but do you know that witchcraft is as old as the world itself even older than Christianity and the Catholic church? Then does that make witchcraft good? By no means! Being an Ex-catholic I have no problem with the church since they gave me my first foundation about God, but my problem with it is that there are many beliefs that have no biblical legal backing that they preach and teach people-more like brainwash and hypnotism. God save the Catholic Church members.

yommy2sure: Wow...so much debate.. Its not just the catholic church but even mainstream christianity that practice stuffs that are not biblical. Sabbath was originally saturday, Jesus wasnt born on chritmas day, he did not die on friday evenn to rise up on monday morning (that isnt a complete 3 days and three nights)the original festivals in the old and new testaments are passover, feast of terbanacles,etc. All these were fused into christianity by the emperor constaintan wen he accepted christianity, he wanted to unit christinty and all the pegan religeon then hence he created a hybrid christianity mixed wit pegan symbols and theories. Sunday was originally for the worship of the sun-god in exchange for the son-of-God hence the name sun-day. The mary and jesus images were to replace a goddess nd her son...and many more, and pls the church Jesus talked abt wasnt a physical building built on Peter's grave, he meant he will be the head of those that will preach the gospel to the ends of the earth...people shld learn to read and find out things for themselves abeg... The basic thing is a personal relationship with God 2tru his son Jesus Christ not Mary or any other 'saint'

This is according 2 ur own reasoning. U hav a long way 2 go.

Christ's aim was to abolish hypocrytical religious practices (especially those practised during the Mosiac era) and inculcate spiritual & Godly relationship practices instead.

Or have'nt you read that it is appointed unto a man to die once and after that Judgement - HEBREWS 9:27.
So where does forgiveness comes after judgement?

lets talk about d role of Peter. He was chosen by Jesus as his first disciple. Again given leadership role by jesus. Jesus declares peter blessed in mattew 16:13-20. John 21:15-17 jesus gave him authority 2 tak car of his flocks.he also gave peter the key 2 heaven in mattew 16:17-20 sayn dat what ever u bind in earth shal be bind in heaven and who u forgive shal b 4gevn in heaven. So what ar u sayn. Its lik a man on a dieing bed give a land to his son to own and control. Wil u cal dat a spiritual statement or say dat he was meaning that d land belongs 2 his other brothers? See its beter u accept the fact or hold ur peace.

Peter was buried in rome. years later after the death of peter, from 4th century, Constantin who was the roman empero from 306 to 337 and was also the first empero to accept christianity, he then decided honor peter and built a large basillica no his grave. My brother by thats the professy has been fulfilled when jesus told peter u are a rock and on this rock il build my church. Mathew 16. Even when peter fled rome to avoid execution, Jesus came to him in a dream which made him to go back to rome and accept his martyrdom dere along with paul who was beheaded cus the professy must be fulfiled.
You talk about the seven churches in revelation. And u said that rome was not mentioned let me ask u is Nigeria mentiond in the bible but some churches has its origin from nigeria.
Catholic means universal. The catholic church was founded right from christ even before the bassilica was built. And its the only church that can claim to have been founded by christ personaly. Every other churches trace its lineage back to a mere human person such as Martin luther or John wesley. But d catholic can trace its lineage back to Jesus Christ who appointed st Peter as the first Pope. The line of pope continued unbroken for almost 2000 years. Please its beter to follow the faith that has its origin dated back to christ. Than folow this new generational churchs. We hav many churchs in nigeria 2day and coruptn and crime is more in dis generation. U alowed ur self 2 be deceived by people from other churchs. Instead of u 2 stand by what u believe in. Its at ur best intrest to change and practise the only true religion. I strongly beleive in d Catholic faith.

My brother now i knw wer ur problem is 4m. U allowed ur self 2 be brain washed. Christianity suffered a lot of pesecution b4 it later succeded. No body is disputing d fact dat peter or other apostles of Christ were married. Peter left his family and follwed christ as wel as others. If i may ask what church is d first church on earth? Becus 4m history catholic was d first b4 anglican broke out. U just turned d history upside down. I wonder what church u ar going 2.

Worship of Mary: Catholics claim to be honouring Mary and not worship her but the prayer goes: “……..through Mary the Mother of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” Why? Mary is dead and in heaven in the bosom of the LORD, so why waste your time on a human like yourself after Jesus said categorically that he is the way the truth and the life and that no one goes to the Father except by him (John 14:6) Why all the emphasis on Mary being a virgin as if it’s a big deal…infact Mary was not the only virgin in Israel when Jesus was to be born. She was only a vessel (worthy one) through which the Saviour must come, besides it was a law and tradition in Isreal in the law of Moses that a woman must be a virgin before marriage (see Deut 22:20-21). Also, it was ordained by God and was prophesied that Jesus must come from the lineage of David, so since Joseph was from the house of David and betrothed husband of Mary, then no other woman could have been chosen but Mary the wife-to-be of Joseph. So you see Mary was chosen because of Joseph and it was ordained by to be by God Almighty. (Matt. 1:1-25)

Catholics Vs Purgatory: Now 1 John 5:16 did not in any way support the existence of purgatory though it talks about sin unto death which Catholics tagged ‘mortal sin,’ but this is not anyway referring to purgatory it is talking about sin against the Holy Ghost which can never be forgiven according to Jesus in Matt 12:31. Now let’s look at this critically, Catholics believe in three state of after life:
1. Heaven
2. Purgatory – which is a temporary condition for the purification of souls who although saved are not free from sin to enter directly into heaven. Souls in purgatory may be aided in reaching heaven by the prayers of the faithful on earth and by the intercession of saints.
3. Final Damnation
Beloved, do not be fooled there are only two ways which Jesus our Saviour painted vividly to us in Matt 7:13-14 and Luke 13:24-30; the narrow way which leads to life eternal (heaven) and the broad way which leads to destruction (damnation or hell). See if there is another way Jesus would have told us expressly! Remember now the story of the rich man and Lazarus? Two places – Abraham’s bosom (Heaven) and Hell – no purgatory! (Luke 16:19-31) Need not say more; just read the book of Revelations and you’ll see that purgatory does not exist!!!!

Catholics Vs. Dead Christian (Saints): There is no record in the bible that we read that the living people ask the dead to pray for them. Even Isaac never asked his dead father Abraham (the father of nations and friend of God) to pray for him. Jesus never ask any saint to pray for him neither did Paul, Peter nor anyone in bible history that I know of. God being the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob doesn’t mean we should ask them to pray for us. God gave us mouths to pray for ourselves (that was why the Lord’s Prayer was given) and even for others – but not for dead people, because after death there is no repentance in the grave. Even if you spend a life time praying for a dead relative it will not nullify God’s Judgment over such.

Catholics Vs. Dead bodies: Exhuming the dead is occultism and not to be practiced in church. Elisha was a prophet who received double portion of Elijah’s anointing, so the fact that his bones raised a dead man was to complete the miracles he was ordained to perform. U talk as if u see nothing gud in the catholic church. Hav u head of this sayn " soldier go soldier come barrak must remain" u wer formerly a catholic as u claim, and uve left "SO WHAT" as people ar living more are entering. The tin is what we catholics belive in works 4 us. If u hav a problem with it hug transformer ul see ul get better. I WAS born a catholic brought up a catholic and by Gods grace die as a catholic.

emrino: I wrote last year. 50 questions more of English i tink abt 30 English, 15 maths & 5 general paper (mostly military & defense questions). Its like e regular aptitude test nothing to fear just revise ur GMAT...Good Luck.
