What's your advice on buying the dip now boss CSblackpink: Actually, the chart is research from CardinalStone, and the forecast has been accurate with the market trend. |
Investment › Re: Equity Investment. by Ogborokiri(m): 10:44pm On Jun 04 |
Boss make we still buy the dip CSblackpink: Investing in the stock market or any equity drama is not for the faint of heart; if you are not a day trader or a swing trader, I recommend being extremely patient in order to see significant returns. The market fluctuates, and a single year can produce negative returns. Except for "crypto," those who made gains from high-risk investments held through volatility. If you have made a lot of money, take your gains; however, doing DCA pays off in the long run. Finally, if you expect to make quick money from the market, you will be disappointed. |

Can we compare this to the previous day if anyone has the record?
From my end, I lost. We need to confirm so I can take the complaint to ZedCrest to correct the system anomaly. It could have happened to anyone, it could happen to anyone tomorrow. |

Can we still buy the dip on equity CSblackpink: Samsung is going on strike; those trading foreign equity should expect tech stocks to bleed more aggressively. However, now is the time to capitalize on the chaos and buy the dip. During times of chaos and turmoil, wise investors relax and make money. |

Please can you recommend 5 stock I can buy and hold for the next 5 years Beeron: Your concern is really valid and honestly, many experienced traders, investors and Equity fund managers will start getting cautious when everybody suddenly becomes a “market expert” and some low cap stocks start doing x2/x3 quickly, social media becomes euphoric with the news and some people will begin to believe stocks only go up and they can quickly invest in hope to double and triple their money and so they just buy in and in the process creating a bubble.
But first:
let’s separate crypto psychology from stock market reality because they are similar in some ways — but also very different.
I also trade Crypto, crypto futures precisely not spot trade, Infact, crypto Futures trade was the reason I had to learn and figure out a strategy to study and predict market behavior via chart after losing lots of money trading futures, so you can say I learnt on the job lol.
Anyways, eventhough if a bubble is created in the Nigeria stock market, Nigeria stocks doesn't crash like crypto, Crypto can crash 70%-90% quickly but NGX crash slower, first, it enters a bearish season(the phase where CSpinkblack usually says, top up, top up... ..... I love that guy lol), then secondly, it enters a phase of trapping late buyers, thirdly, it enters a phase of wiping out speculative stocks (this is why people always advise newbies to invest more in large cap, high volume stocks and ignore speculative stocks like Zichis, redstarex, stocks in the insurance section etc)
Now large cap, high volume stocks are usually tied to companies earnings, dividends, interest rates, inflation, FX, and corporate governance and policy.
So, high volume, large cap stocks usually recover eventually "quickly" after bubble burst, correction or crash. But you can't say the same of crypto or low cap speculative stocks as they usually take long time to recover.
So to your other question, Can forthcoming elections affect stocks negatively?
The answer is yes, because before elections markets often become nervous, volatile, cautious and foreign investors especially reduce exposure. If you ask me why.
Well it's because, Investors hate: uncertainty, policy surprises, instability risk
Foreign investors may wait until election outcome is clearer and stability is confirmed in the country. |

💯💯💯💯💯💯 Iamblessed8888: One of the proponents of this concept is warren buffet. This is a practical example of what DCA means.
Assume on Monday, Zenith bank share was 100 naira and you invested 1K, means you have 10 units.
On Tuesday, the price fell to 50 naira, you refused to panick, you invested another 1K again, and bought 20 units.
Now you have 30 units.
Two things happened,
1. Your 1K got you more units on Tuesday 2. Your average cost per unit is now (100naira + 50naira) /2 =75 naira.
If you did not buy more, zenith shares would have to rise to 100 naira for you to break even but because you bought more when the prices were down, you have reduced your break even price to 75 naira, meaning zenith does not need to rise to 100 naira before you break even anymore. Anything from 76 naira and you are in profit.
In summary, it does 2 things
1. It reduces the price at which the shares need to rise to before you make profit.
2. It gives you more units for dividend day.
That is what averaging down means and that is why people pray for red day at times especially when they invested at high prices |

I just did that this morning I don't even look at my portfolio I just dey topup dey go CSblackpink: Dollar cost averaging—topping up no matter what the market scenario might be. Yakubu or Kanayo, just keep buying. |
Investment › Re: Equity Investment. by Ogborokiri(m): 10:09am On May 09 |
Thanks I have been doing that I even topup today self auschris: "Dollar-cost averaging is a strategy where you invest your money in equal portions, at regular intervals, regardless of which direction the market or a particular investment is going. In other words, your purchases occur regardless of the changes in price for the stock or other investment, potentially helping reduce the impact of volatility on the overall purchase. This can serve as a risk management trading strategy if you end up buying more when the price is relatively lower and buying less when the price is relatively higher."

Abeg this DCA what does it mean CSblackpink: For a foreign portfolio, it's not too late; just make sure you do DCA everytime you have a tiny change. I do $20-100 weekly before getting my salary. DCA helps you to buy more units and supercharges your portfolio for Yakubu. |

Yes I saw it boss and I did that thanks Beeron: Oga Ogborokiri, did you see my update regarding Dangote Sugar?
Secondly to answer your question; Just withdraw profit made in Equity fund and move to MMF, then wait till ASI find support and about to go up, then you can now begin to top up using that money already in MMF however, if you have money to keep topping up, even when it dips further and further, don't go through this stress. |
