Politics / Re: PDP Publicity Secretary Appologizes For Its Failure In Abia For 24 Years by Oghene86: 10:01am On May 26
OredoPikin:

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Abia State, South-East Nigeria has tendered an open apology to the people of the State for what it says was, “not meeting their expectations” while in power for about 24 years in the State.

The Party is however appealing for another chance, promising to make amends.

Acting State Publicity Secretary, Abraham Amah who addressed journalists after a stakeholders meeting in Umuahia, says the lessons learnt from their mistakes will be used to chat a new course for the party in the State.

He is happy that the PDP across the 17 Local Government Areas of the State is still intact, despite becoming the opposition.

Amah praised the resilience and oarty spirit of the members under what he describes as hostile state and national governments.

The Umuahia meeting is the first by the Abia State PDP stakeholders, since the party suffered humiliating defeat in the 2023 general elections.

The people of abia state should bannish any members of PDP in the state, if all governors had done half of what Otti has done in 1yr the state would be ok,.but you can imagine the evil done by every Governor since 1999 till date should never be voted into any office again in the state

Politics / Re: Letter To Hon Min. Nyesom Wike by Oghene86: 6:25am On May 26
Wike doesn't seem to understand the general politics, even Tinubu wants you to be cut to size. We are no longer talking about the previous intervention of the president, the last we heard from the presidency is that the president is not taking sides, that should be enough warning to call for truce so you don't end up disgracing yourself, nobody of character or might stands with you in Rivers State, just miscreants who call themselves LGA chairmen that have no respect for authority and lawmakers that don't understand the laws they make by decamping and no saying they never decamped, but forgetting that there was or rather injunctions from courts preventing their seats to be declared vacant.

Today they believe the PDP national execution would save them, as it is Wike should count is looses and move on the assembly members are gone, his commissioners are gone, rather he should sit with Fubara and see how he could be giving a soft landing and save his face, but if continues this battle he will end up loosing everything. He should learn.

FreeStuffsNG:

It is a Surd question.

Solution steps below
Rtx + Rtx=2Rtx (LHS)
Rt8 = Rt4 times Rt 2 (RHS)

Therefore 2Rtx=2Rt2 (because Rt4=2)
Divide both LHS and RHS by 2
Therefore Rtx= Rt2
Therefore x=2
Option a is the answer
N.B Rt= Square root

Check my signature for free stuffs!

Give Tinubu maybe it will help with the economy, if not make una carry una surd waka 😂😂

Since morning, only you have spoken. Intelligent and informed talk , the upgradable truth. Fubara and his fellow political neophytes are just widely and sunlessly fighting on leaving obvious legal loopholes here and there. I knew he would soon fall into one, if not all of it. I never take Femi Falana's politico-legal opinions seriously. Sometimes, you see him making obvious errors.

So national chairman and Secretary are with Wike that why the secretary lost in his last election, PDP should continue this nonsense and Fubara would decamp after this issue is settled by the supreme Court, stupid politics they play is costing them to lose every day they would loose Rivers State and try the Power of the people and see if the chairman and Secretary will win votes in the next election in Rivers State, moreover the case is at the appeal courts and the lawmakers never questioned the decamping, na PDP want to Force them to stay

PDP national office has now thrown their support behind the 27 members of the Rivers house of assembly. PDP claims the 27 members are still members of the PDP.

PDP now claim the so called defection was a rumour and has not happened.

PDP has gone to court to say defection is null and void

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkkckfMakmk

There are proof they decamped and even Wike mentioned that in various events they would be kicked out shame on PDP national, it's time nigerians shift their support from PDP, Fubara should decamp from PDP for this nonsense after the case has been decided by supreme Court
Politics / Re: I Cannot Solve FCT Problems In 200 Years – Wike by Oghene86: 8:29am On May 24
Ofunaofu:

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said that 200 years would not be enough to solve the problems in the nation’s capital.

The minister noted the fact that government is a continuum, which means that after him, someone else will take over and continue from where he stops.

He spoke in Abuja at the Ministerial Sectoral Updates as part of activities to mark President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s one year in office.

The first session of the Sectoral Briefing has in attendance the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike; Minister of Youth Development, Dr Jamila Ibrahim Bio; Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu; Minister of State for FCT, Dr Mariya Mahmud; Minister of State for Petroleum, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri; and Minister of State for Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande.

“Even if I’m FCT minister for 200 years, I cannot solve the whole problem. You’ll contribute your own to the best of your knowledge and when another person comes, they continue from where you stop.

“After all, government is a continuum. That’s why Mr President told me, ‘all these projects littered everywhere, you cannot go and start new projects. We had to focus on finishing the abandoned projects’,” Wike said.

Recall that the PDP, through the legal adviser, deliberately misled the public and party members when he denied the allegations of the existence of such a legal process where PDP headquarters gave authorisation for the sacked APC Lawmakers to be reinstated using one Dr Musa Joshua SAN. Fellow Party men, the party headquarters lied and here today, we have the hard evidence and copy of the documents to show what those we left in Wadata House are capable of doing to their own party, which is the reason we insisted we cannot leave those already in bed with APC as our Partys Officials.

Events has already overtaken this, any judge that gives any judgement against the governor would be hanged by NJC no body will touch the case or Wike's money. Everyone is aware

When his comment causes ethnic conflict in Rivers state that is when you will know the nature of his folly. But we Riverians are more emotionally mature than Deltans, that is why we don't have bloodshed everywhere like Delta. Let him face Delta state, they are not in a better position compared to Rivers.
. that's not enough reason to say he talks like a fool, we should be guided on how we talk to we don't bring unnecessary cause on ourselves because we lack wisdom,

I disagree with a lot of Tinubu's policies but I can't insult him. No matter, what he has said is not far from the truth. You may not like it doesn't mean you have to insult him

Politics / Re: Fubara Wins As Court Nullifies Amendment Of LG Law By Pro-wike Lawmakers by Oghene86: 1:44pm On May 21
Ofunaofu:

The Rivers State High Court has invalidated the amended Local Government Law proposed by the Martins Amaewhule faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The ruling was delivered in a suit numbered PHC/1320/CS/2024, which challenged the extension of tenure for LG chairmen for six months after the expiration of their term.

Justice D.G. Kio, presiding over the case, declared the amendment invalid, citing its inconsistency with the 1999 Constitution and Section 9(1) of the Rivers State Local Government law No. 5 of 2018.

The court emphasized that the applicable law governing the tenure of local government chairmen and councillors is the Rivers State Local Government Law No. 5 of 2018, which stipulates a three-year tenure.

The attempt to extend their tenure through the enactment of the Local Government Law No. 2 of 2024 was deemed unlawful and contrary to their oath of office.

The ruling marks a victory for Enyiada Cookey-Gam and six others who challenged the extension, asserting the primacy of constitutional principles in governance.
