Dreal1247: Who knows where APC will be in the year 2027. The overbearing of Wike is gradually creeping into APC as it destroyed the PDP. Tinubu may not be able to do anything about it as it is a very complicated issue.
Tinubu can start now, by sacking Wike and have EFCC prosecute him to keep him busy like malami, all is supporters he gave political appointments should be sacked also and. Anyone found culpable should be kept busy with EFCC, his sons that acquired properties in Abuja should be investigated if found wanting should also have a session with EFCC, then Rivers APC executive should be dissolved and a caretaker committee put in place, all that would change the narrative and Wike headless supporters would fall in line. Tinubu should start immediately, if not Wike would bribe his way into APC and divide the party
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has alleged that certain political figures are deliberately misleading Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, amid the lingering political tension in the state.
Speaking before a gathering of supporters in the Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Wike maintained that agreements reached to resolve the crisis in the oil-rich state must be fully respected and implemented.
Wike stressed that the understanding brokered in the presence of President Bola Tinubu was not informal or speculative, but a clearly defined accord endorsed by all parties involved.
He accused Governor Fubara of failing to adhere to the terms of the agreement, noting that it was formally signed by prominent stakeholders, including former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, leaders of major political parties, and other senior government officials.
According to the former Rivers governor, it was deeply troubling that individuals who openly endorsed the agreement later turned around to misrepresent it to the public. He described such conduct as reckless and warned that it posed a serious threat to political stability in the state.
“People think they can just say anything in politics and it will not matter. It matters. If it did not matter yesterday, it will matter today, and if not today, it will matter tomorrow,” he said.
Wike emphasized that the agreement was collectively accepted and freely signed, arguing that it was dishonest for any of the signatories to later deny or contradict what they had agreed to behind closed doors.
He described Rivers State as a strategic political stronghold in the South-South region and urged leaders to exercise responsibility and truthfulness when addressing issues that could affect peace and cohesion.
Reflecting on past political battles in the state, Wike recalled earlier attempts by certain groups to dismantle the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers during a national convention. He said those efforts ultimately failed, adding that subsequent political developments had clearly demonstrated the futility of such actions.
The minister reiterated that his political choices have consistently been guided by fairness, equity, and justice, rather than personal gain or blind party loyalty. He told the gathering that his stance on Rivers politics was rooted in principle and a desire to preserve stability in the state.
Wike also expressed appreciation to the people of Ogu/Bolo for their unwavering support over the years, particularly during periods of intense political pressure.
He went on to commend President Bola Tinubu for what he described as unprecedented appointments of Rivers State indigenes into key federal roles, saying the President had shown sincerity by honouring commitments made to stakeholders in the state.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Rivers Ijaw Peoples Congress, George Sekibo, openly criticised Governor Fubara, describing him as ungrateful and declaring full support for Wike. He stated that Ijaw leaders were determined to ensure that the governor would not secure a second term and pledged their backing for the FCT Minister.
Similarly, the Executive Director of Finance at the Niger Delta Development Commission, Boma Iyaye, assured Wike of the continued loyalty of the Ogu/Bolo people. He praised the minister for facilitating key federal appointments and driving development initiatives that have benefited the area.
Earlier, the Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Vincent Nemieboka, outlined several development projects attracted to the council through Wike’s influence. He reaffirmed the council’s loyalty and that of the local population to the former Rivers governor.
The meeting drew a wide range of attendees, including political leaders, traditional rulers, chiefs, and other stakeholders, and was marked by cultural and traditional performances staged to welcome Wike and his entourage.
Your desperation is getting too much, they would mislead him from you, this is a government and not a personal business you can't own the state, if others acted like you are doing presently I guess nobody would have known you, if you still want any form of relevance make up with SIm and give him a free hand to run if not you are done
BondRiv: The national secretary is a nobody with double standards. These people entered APC because of Wike.
Where was Basiru who claims he has integrity when Fubara referred to the minister as a barking dog? Why didn't he caution the governor? But he has an issue with "so-called governor" ? Fubara does not deserve respect. I hate pretenders.
Did he mention the name of Wike, abi na another thing you de think, the end has come for him and his followers
press9jatv: Former Chairman of Emuoha Local Government Area in Rivers State, Chidi Lloyd, has faulted the call by the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, asking the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to resign.
Lloyd said such a call was misguided, as the power to appoint or remove a minister rests solely with the President.
Tensions escalated earlier this week when Wike, during an event in Rivers State, told Basiru to steer clear of the state’s political affairs following the APC scribe’s open expression of support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
In a swift response, Basiru accused Wike of being obsessed with Rivers’ politics and called on him to resign from his ministerial post to focus on the state’s affairs.
Reacting to the development, Lloyd, in an interview with Punch, dismissed Basiru’s remarks as politically motivated and lacking merit.
“He wasn’t the one who appointed the Minister of the FCT, and cannot ask him to resign. I wish he could have said so before the 2023 elections. I wonder how many votes he gave to the All Progressives Congress in the State of Osun,” Lloyd stated.
He went on to accuse Basiru of hypocrisy, suggesting that the APC scribe may have ulterior motives.
“You know, people forget easily. When they come to collect dollars, they forget where we are coming from. It’s normal, but I don’t want to believe that such a statement emanated from him. But it could be dollars, because for you to get the attention of the Governor of Rivers State, you must abuse Nyesom Wike,” he said.
He added, “He forgets how the person he is talking to now, who has become his friend overnight, emerged as governor.”
“Basiru Is A Busybody” — Wike Ally, Wodi Also commenting, a staunch ally of Wike, Chimelem Wodi, said Basiru lacked the authority to demand Wike’s resignation, arguing that only the President could make such a decision.
“He has no right to say what he has said because he is not even active in his party. So, he has no such powers and I think he is trying to incur the wrath of Rivers people and well-meaning citizens of the state who collectively backed the FCT Minister to represent them,” Wodi said.
He added that President Bola Tinubu continues to hold Wike in high regard and that the FCT Minister remains one of the administration’s top performers.
The FCT minister has not committed any crime, or whatsoever, that will make Mr President disqualify him. Mr President has on several occasions said the FCT Minister is a good man and a performer. Today, if you are talking about the best minister so far in terms of performance, Wike has done very well. So, I think the APC secretary is just a busybody,” he added.
Chidi that is your national secretary you're talking to like that Wike would destroy his political career along with others. You all will go down with Wike, the APC executive in Rivers State would be dissolved and a caretaker committee would be appointed
miracle002: Tensions within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have escalated as senior party leaders have issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu over the conduct of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Rivers State.
Amid renewed hostilities between Wike and his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, APC leaders say Wike’s political manoeuvres are endangering party cohesion and could force a showdown with the Presidency.
A member of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), speaking anonymously to The Guardian, said the party may soon demand that President Tinubu make a choice between the party and the FCT minister.
“We may ask the President to choose between us and his FCT minister if Wike continues to behave as if only he can serve the political interests of the President in Rivers State or any other state for that matter. He is not a member of this party,” the source said.
This latest warning follows Wike’s declaration that Governor Fubara would not return for a second term in 2027, a statement that has sparked outrage among APC loyalists, especially in Rivers State.
Party strategists argue that the APC cannot afford to let Wike, a minister not formally registered with the party, sabotage the President’s interests in the oil-rich state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Olafeso: Wike Now Isolated In APC
Former PDP National Vice Chairman (South-West), Eddy Olafeso, described Wike’s current political situation as a consequence of being outpaced by Fubara, who he said swiftly aligned with the APC before his former boss could.
Speaking in an interview with The Guardian, Olafeso said Wike is probably the most unfortunate politician in the history of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.
He said the Rivers State governor played politics faster than the minister by joining the APC, leaving his former boss in the cold.
Olafeso also said APC stalwarts have shown Wike the way out by making it clear that Fubara would be recognised as the leader of their party in Rivers, before Wike resolved to defect to the APC.
“Some of them are even calling for his removal as minister,” he revealed.

He is not yet in APC they are already feeling the heat, when he joins APC then he would divide the party into two, this is the time to cut Wike to size, if not this man fit cause civil war
seunmsg: Like I have said severally, Wike needs to calm down and stop fighting the governor. He could attack Fubara and get away with it when Fubara was in PDP. Now that he’s in APC, the party structure will come to his defense.
Fubara doesn’t even need to say anything now before high ranking officials are coming to defend. That should tell Wike that it’s time to backdown and restrategize.
Nothing like restrategize he has only one option which is work for Fubara and remain politically relevant or fo into oblivion. Wike is too greedy .
oyichi: Many of you are not understanding what is happening to wike, when i saw him in that rally, I felt pity for him, he is just on a mission for survival, about five years ago, wike has political structure in all the states of the federation, he has almost the entire South South in his palm, but now, he has lost everything, he is just limited to a fraction of his own state, he knows that he is finished, he knows that he is dead politically. That is why he said that if fubara wins re election, he will be buried politically, his actions indicates fear not show of strength. Tinubu in his own side, knows that wike is finished, he did not consult him before accepting fubara into apc, mark this, fubara will win his second term and there is nothing wike can do about it
Tell them, an experienced.person will tell you that Wike is not doing all this from the side of strength rather weakness. If he is so sure he meet Fubara at the election to test popularity APC national secretary is giving him back to back and it's clear he would not be allowed into the APC. That's confirmed, it would go down in history. By end of 1st quarter he would be done with na gradually
yarimo: Senator Ajibola Basiru the APC National Secretary be careful, before the tiger of the Niger delta handle you with iron hand.
You Wike's handler try advising him, because they set trap for him 😀 and if he falls into it Tinubu can't save him and his headless zombie supporters will scamper for safety
I hope this statement is not from you because you will be cut to size, you arrogance is becoming too much, you will be taken back to 1998 to teach you a big lesson
Melagros: COMRADES, can somebody tell wike to quickly relocate/ defect to apc if he is not scared?
As it stands now APC wouldn't accept him, Wike is trouble, bringing Wike into APC would be problem for the party. What they see him do in PDP presently wouldn't be allowed in APC so a lot of people wouldn't want him in the party
BondRiv: The Rivers State Executive Council has approved a N1.8 trillion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year.
The approval was made at the State Executive Council meeting held on Friday evening.

They should never discuss or try that nonsense of integrating them in the Nigerian army if that is done then the country would be fully islamized.Mossad should visit this Gumi for a cup of tea, hiss plans for this country no good at all
