Some herdsmen have reportedly r*ped a woman and then beat her husband to a pulp, weekend, at a farm in Ubuneke-Ivbiaro, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.

According to Vanguard, husband of the r*pe victim, Umoru Agunu, said armed herdsmen, numbering six, invaded his farm at about 10.30a.m. on Sunday, beat him up and r*ped his wife.

According to him, “no sooner had I arrived at my farm with my wife than I saw six armed herdsmen demanding for my phone. When I told them I don’t have any, they beat me up mercilessly and two of them r*ped my wife. They were also with a young woman, who probably is their victim.”

Commenting on the incident, Yakubu Ibrahim, one of the community leaders, noted that armed herdsmen have laid siege on the community.

Ibrahim added that the Sunday incident had been reported to the Divisional Police Officer in Afuze, the administrative headquarters of Owan East Local Government, who promised to send his men to comb the bushes along with the volunteer vigilantes.

Contacted, Head of Local Government Administration, Owan East Local Government, Akeens Ade-Akhani, said the council was aware of the situation in the area, saying his admini-stration have been mobilising policemen and vigilantes to Ivbiaro-Auchi Road.

He said the security challenges in Ivbiaro, Warrake, Ihievbe and other parts of the local government have been reported to the state government to empower the council’s vigilante group with the necessary incentives and manpower to provide security.

The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, YOWICAN, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration of marginalising Christians and running Nigeria as a Muslim organization.

Rising from an emergency meeting in Abuja, on Monday, YOWICAN claimed that the Buhari-led Federal Government was executing Islamic agenda.

A statement by the group’s National President, Daniel Kadzai, pointed out that the removal of Christian religious studies from primary/secondary schools, especially in the North and the alleged unequal treatment meted out to Christians in the North showed that the current government was out to kill the Christian religion.

The statement reads, “The worse form of social injustice, terrorism and religious bias is to deny Christian children their right to practise their religion despite the role of Christian Religious Studies in helping to shape the moral character and integrity of our children as future leaders.

“Perhaps, it is in furtherance to its Islamic agenda that the APC government appointed the likes of Prof. Ishaq Oluyede, a known Islamist, who has never hidden his bias and prejudice against Christians, to head a most relevant educational institution like the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB.

“Despite the denial that the government is not slipping Nigeria into an Islamic country as evident from previous antecedents, Nigeria’s participation at the Islamic solidarity sports federation speaks volumes and confirms the obvious.”

Former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, says “the humane nature and policies” of Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has endeared him to the people while “his political achievements have made him a legend.”

Shekarau, a former Minister of Education, hailed the affection Fayose shows to the people.

A statement on Saturday by Chief Press Secretary to Fayose, Idowu Adelusi, said Shekarau spoke during a visit to Ado-Ekiti.

Shekarau, who was taken round some projects by Fayose, said he was overwhelmed by the close relationship between Fayose and the people of Ekiti.

He charged Nigerian leaders to emulate the Ekiti governor by identifying with their people and meeting their needs.

He said, “I am not surprised by the great performance of Governor Ayodele Fayose in Ekiti State.

“We were governors at the same time in 2003, though we were in different political parties, he did wonderfully well then too.

May 11, 1981, Aba: This sad day retains poignant memories. On this day, news of the demise of Prophet, poet, singer, Africanist and lyricist, Bob Marley, hit the small community of students at the Federal School of Arts and Science, Aba. It was mind-numbing and shattering.

We drowned our sorrows collectively, Lower Six students, by gathering at the bedside of Benedict Chidorum Nwakanma. I had a cassette tape recorder, a bequest from my parents for passing out in Division One in the School Certificate examination in 1980. It was a treasured gift.

There was no better way to celebrate this gift and my coming of age. I would go into town and buy tapes. For every three tapes, two would be Bob Marley and the Wailers. In whatever combination.

We would go for meals and return to that corner listening to Bob Marley songs and sharing accounts of the man, his exploits, our understanding of those exploits and more. Some of the stories sounded apocryphal now in retrospect. It added to the pathos and the sense of immense loss.

Bob Marley was the star at the reggae side of a young man’s initiation into the world of music.

Since 1976, I had followed Bob Marley, as a young secondary school student. Seniors told interesting stories of the man as we sat listening to the music. That was the year he came unto the world stage, courtesy of Island Records. They released his Rastaman Vibrations in London to global acclaim.

I was hooked. Here was music that had it all: lyrics, syncopation, yet synchronisation. It was refreshing. Out of this world. Bob Marley spoke to my young soul and still speaks to me now that I understand even more the essence of his music and message.

Bob Marley and the Wailers made the most impact in the 70s and 80s. He released Catch A Fire in 1973, Natty Dread (1974), Live! (1975). Then followed the ice breaking Rastaman Vibration in 1976. Bob surpassed himself the following year with the record that epitomises all of his genius

An 18-year-old girl identified as Miss Faith Pius, has been stabbed by her 26-year-old lover in a hotel room located at Biogbolo area of Yenagoa in Bayelsa state.

PM News reported that the man took to his heels when the cry of the victim attracted the attention of other guests in the hotel who came to her rescue.

One of the guests said that the suspect escaped when other guests and residents in the neighbourhood rushed to the scene.

While speaking to a correspondent, a source who pleaded anonymity, said the incident happened on Friday night, adding that the young girl was rushed to a private clinic where she was treated and the wounds stitched.

“But she developed complications on Saturday and she died on Sunday morning,’’ the source said.

The state Police commissioner, Amba Asuquo, who confirmed the incident, said it was first considered as a case of assault occasioned by harm.

According to Vanguard, the traditional ruler said that such measure if granted by the President Buhari administration, would help to foster peace and douse tension in the country.

“I call on the Federal Government to immediately withdraw all the charges preferred against Kanu in the interest of peace in the country.

“He did not commit murder. He did not carry arms; neither did he commit any heinous crime to warrant such a government clampdown.

“His only offence was that he expressed his opinion in a democracy where people are free to express themselves without the fear of arrest or molestation,” he said.

The monarch said he was not in a position to stop his son from pursuing his conviction, adding that Nnamdi was mature enough to hold an independent opinion.

“He is more than 18 years of age and has become an adult. He is capable of having an independent opinion on any issues. So, I cannot ask him to stop pursuing what he believes in.

“The only thing that can assuage him is to allow him to have Biafra and no amount of inducement, even giving him an oil block, would stop him.” he said.

Eze Israel Kanu, who described the bail conditions by the Abuja High Court as stringent, thanked Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, (Abia South Senatorial District), an Igbo Jewish Rabbi from Port Harcourt , Immanuu El-Shalom, and a renowned Chartered Accountant, Tochukwu Uchendu, for securing his release.

While he assured that his son would not betray the trust the sureties reposed in him, he disclosed that while in his palace, young able-bodied members of IPOB volunteered to restrict the number of visitors around him “so that he does not run afoul of one of the bail conditions.”

The visibly elated octogenarian described the two-year incarceration of his son as a period of depression.

While accepting his election as the leader of the ECA, he pledged to uphold the creed and ethos of the organization, stressing “I discharge my duties honourablly; I would not fail you or anybody who has supported me. The task ahead is tough but surmountable.”

‎On the bail conditions given to him by the court, he described it as obnoxious and unconstitutional, vowing to challenge it in the days ahead.

“On those we left behind, we are making effort to see that they come out because they committed no crime. All we are seeking for is freedom; a return to the values we had before the advent of white men. A situation where people move their cows into our farms and slaughter our people will no longer be acceptable.”

When approached for interview by the media, Kanu declined, citing bail conditions given to him by the court.

It is the end of the road for an unrepentant church thief, Williams Okonoboh Eromosele, 28 after he was sentenced to seven years imprisonment with hard labour by an Igbosere magistrate court, Lagos for stealing a Huawei G73 phone valued at N70,000 from Mrs. Ihindinibu Omawunmi at the Church of Resurrection Anglican located at 1004 estate, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The convict was sentenced by magistrate Mrs. O. Otitoju after the convict pleaded guilty to the one-count charge preferred against him by the police at the Bar Beach division, Victoria Island, Lagos and the facts of the case presented by the police prosecutor, Inspector Okete Ejima.

The police at the bar Beach division, alleged that the convict had earlier been arrested in 2016 for stealing money from church offering box at a church on Musa Yar, Adua street, Victoria Island, Lagos and was charged to court. He pleaded guilty to the crime and was jailed for six months.

The Police alleged further that the convict committed the latest crime on 11 December, 2016 when he went to the Church of Resurrection Anglican at 1004 estate, Victoria Island, Lagos to attend their service. Police claimed that while the church members were praying, the convict cleverly stole the complainant’s phone and escaped.

Police stated that when the complainant observed that her phone was missing, she used another phone to call the number of her missing handset but the convict received the call and told the complainant she must pay him N10,000 before he will return the phone to her. The complainant reported the matter to the DPO in charge of bar beach division, Victoria Island, CSP Olusegun Ajamulaya, and he advised the complainant to play along and pay the money as bait into the account the convict provided.

The day before yesterday we were told by the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, that her husband was not as ill as most of us believed and that despite his obvious challenges he has continued to “carry out his responsibilities”.

On the same day the media went to great lengths to convince us, without providing any pictures, that the President had resumed work and that he had had a series of fruitful and productive meetings with his Minister of Justice and the Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) respectively.

They assured us that he would definately preside over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which was scheduled to hold the following day.

All of these assertions proved to be false. Buhari has now missed his FOURTH Federal Ececutive Council meeting in a row due to his chronic and debilitating ill health.

Whoever is holding this poor, frail, sick and elderly man to ransom and keeping him in the Presidential Villa, probably against his will, is wicked and ungodly and he or she is committing a grave sin against God and the Nigerian people.

It is clear that the President is no longer fit to govern. It is obvious that his time is almost up. It is self-evident that for him the bell is tolling.

It is incontrivertable that those around him have held him captive and are indulging in what I once described in an essay that I wrote seven years during the last days of President Umaru Yar’adua as “corpsocracy”. The essay was titled ”Corpocracy: A Gift From Umaru To The Modern World”.

Simply put corpsocracy means the rulership of the living by the dead. It is the art of hiding a walking corpse, a comatose zombie or what some have described as the “living dead” in a cupboard in the Presidential Villa, telling the world that it is hale and hearty and then ruling and running the country in its name.

This is what happened during Yar’adua’s last four months on earth whilst he still had one foot in the land of the living and it is happening to Buhari today.

Such was the ruthless and cold-blooded deception that Yar’adua’s inner circle brought into the equation that they managed to convince the Nigerian people and indeed the entire world that a President that was totally comatose and literally brain-dead managed to sign the 2010 budget all the way from dream-land.

They also managed to conjure up a fake but convincing telephone interview with the … television service which millions of unsuspecting viewers, including yours truly, watched and listened to from all over the world.

Such was the angst of the management of the … when the truth was unearthed and they finally discovered that they had been misled, conned, duped and used that the northern Nigerian woman that organised the so-called “interview”, passing off Yar’adua’s brother’s voice as Yar’adua himself, was expeditiously and unceremoniously sacked.

Her name was …. and she was the head of the … at the time. She was also a double agent of both the MI6, the United Kingdom’s secretive international spy agency and Nigeria’s external spy agency known as the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). One is constrained to ask: what have the Nigerian people not been subjected to or seen?

All these dirty games conducted in a sqaulid and sordid attempt to hold on to power at all costs. Yet worse of all are the nauseating mendacities that the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, keeps churning out. Yesterday he told us that Buhari did not attend the FEC meeting this week because he was “still resting”.

Equally amusing was the absurd assertion from the Minister of Transport, as Rotimi Amaechi, who claims that he “is not corrupt” and that he “does not like money” and who told Nigerians that Buhari was now “putting on weight”, was “much better” and that he was “fit enough to run for the Presidency in 2019”.

Honestly one wonders if these creatures have any genuine love and compassion for their principal because if they did instead of telling us lies about his medical condition they would simply get on their knees and beg him to resign.

One wonders if they have any shame. It is very clear to me that they are all under an accursed hex or Luciferean spell. They have been bound and blinded in body, spirit and soul.

This is a classic case of the Living God hardening Pharaoh’s heart unto destruction. Yet sadly those in power, including Buhari himself, are so obsessed with that power that they cannot see it.

Instead of letting God’s people go and bringing to an end the wickedness, persecution, slaughter and destruction of their perceived enemies, the Buhari administration has gone into full throttle and unleashed even more havoc on members of the opposition and those that they hate.

A few examples will suffice.

A couple of weeks ago when my younger brother Mr. Deji Adeyanju, the stormy petrel of Nigerian political activism, together with his equally dynamic colleague Mr. Ariyo Dare Atoye, organised protest marches across the country demanding for the release of the great Biafran leader and irrepressable Igbo nationalist Prince Nnamdi Kanu, they were both promptly arrested and briefly detained by the police.

The same thing happened to them again in Abuja a few days later after they organised yet another demonstration, this time calling for the release of two online bloggers and journalists, Mr. Austin Okai and Miss Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo.

It didn’t stop there. Two days ago the Southern Kaduna’s Peoples Union (SOKAPU) went on a march in Unity Square, Abuja protesting about the continued mass murder, genocide, butchering and ethnic cleansing of their Christian brothers and sisters and people by Buhari’s kinsmen, the Fulani militias and herdsmen.

Amongst their ranks was the courageous, refreshing, young, articulate, brilliant and bright rising star of Nigeria’s Middle Belt zone, Miss Ndi Kato.

Sadly instead of being treated with sensitivity and compassion and being given assurances that the killings would stop and the killers would be brought to justice, they were insulted, beaten, brutalised and dispersed with batons and tear gas by the Nigerian police.

When elements of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group led by Mrs. Aisha Yesufu joined them as a mark of solidarity, they were brutalised and dispersed as well.

Worse still Aliyu Babangida, the former Governor of Niger State, Sule Lamido, the former Governor of Jigawa state, Ibrahim El Zak Zaky, the leader of Nigeria’s Shiite Muslims, Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Advisor to President Goodluck Jonathan and countless other opposition leaders and opponents of the government remain languishing in detention cells and prisons all over the country whilst plans are afoot to frame up and arrest numerous others like the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

This is clearly a government and a President of “no going back”. Like Shakespeare’s Macbeth they are “so far steeped in blood that should they wade no more, returning would be as tedious as to go over”.

Yet the price for their chosen path, their sheer cruelty and callousness and their sanguine disposition is very high.

It is not just a matter of Buhari possibly dying in office as a consequence of whatever it is that has afflicted him but also what the aftermath of his death will bring.

Baba Bisi Akande, a leading member of the APC and one of the most reverred and credible figures in the country, has already fired a warning shot on behalf of the Vice President and the south-west by saying that nobody should mistake 2017 for 1993.

For those that are too young to know what he is saying is that if Buhari dies no-one should dream of scuttling Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s succession and thereby deprive the south-west of the Presidency like they did in 1993 when Chief MKO Abiola’s mandate was annuled by the northern military simply because they did not want a southern President.

This is a timely and useful intervention by Baba Akande but sadly it has fallen on deaf ears. The cabal and the ultra-conservative core north (which is the constituency that Buhari represents) has already made up its mind.

As a matter of fact the spokesman of the Northern Patriotic Assembly issued a prompt response to him yesterday and warned him and other “leaders from the south-west” to desist from making what they described as “such immoral and despicable statements”.

Again at the instance of the northern elders and leaders, the APC Youth Wing issued an even sterner warning and advised Akande to “go for a physchiatric test” for suggesting that the ill health of the President was taking its toll on the nation.

As far as these people are concerned the Presidency of Nigeria belongs to the north and whether Buhari lives or dies, it must stay there.

Worse still their view is that if they cannot have it then nobody will. That is the beastly mindset of those that we are contending with. And those that suffer from it will certainly come to an equally beastly end.

The truth is that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and those that they represent …. They have been rejected by the Living God.

His is a government of compulsive liars, sadistic tyrants, blood-thirsty pyschopaths, closet kleptomaniacs, ethnic supremacists, radical Islamists, skull and bone diviners and voodoo merchants.

Hashimu Jubrin, a 55 years- old man, yesterday dock before a chief magistrate court confessed to have severally had s*xually intercourse with a nine years old girl.

The police dock, Hashimu a resident of Rijiyar Lemo quarters, before the court on a two count charge bordering on rape and unnatural offence, the accuse admitted the allegation slammed against him, “I had s*x with the girl, I was not forceful as claimed by the police” he told the court.

First information report said, the mother of the victim, named Rabi Abubakar noticed a slight change in how her daughter walks, she quizzed her daughter, who revealed that the accuse person had defile her and on numerous occasion had s*x with her.

According to police prosecutor, inspector Shaibu Musa, the accuse usually lured the victim into his room, where he forcefully and unlawfully had canal knowledge of the victim, saying the conduct of the accuse contravenes the provision of section 283 and 284 of the penal code law.

He further told the court that, the nine years old victim was taken to Waziri Gidado Hospital for medical examination, adding that police investigation into the matter is still in progress.

The presiding chief magistrate, hajiya Mariam Sabo (mni) ordered that the accused person be remanded in prison custody, the case is adjourned to August 2nd for further mention.

Around 2014 people like me started listening to his laudable brave voice on Radio Biafra.

Though, he spoke with a lot of intelligence, he was fearless and steadfast towards his goal, but some of us never took him serious.

Yes we didn’t take him serious, because we believed it was just another radio station established by some scrupulous selfish and greedy individuals or Nigeria politicians to deceive the gullible.
A day came when I listened to him and some of the things he said caught my mind, when he vowed and swore with his family that if he betray Biafrans just like his predecessor (Ralph Uwazuruike) did, let ChukwuOkike Abiama wipe out his family, and I began to ask questions to everyone I felt could answer. I even had to start browsing about the young man, though the answers I got weren’t satisfying, because he wasn’t as popular as he is today.

Some of his most popular slogans then on Radio Biafra were “is either they give me Biafra or they lower me into the grave”, which gave birth to “Biafra or Death”, and “whiter than white” slogans.
He went to the extent of exposing all that have been hidden from the people.

As time passes by, he became so loved by millions, because he was seen to be pure in the heart, and always speak the truth and was ready to defend and die for his people.

When I knew he has followers was the day he organized rally in 2014, and over 1 million people turned up and I said to myself, this is indeed a man of honour.

President Goodluck Jonathan knew he was existing but kept quiet and let him be because he knows it is going to be catastrophic for him to arrest such a young man who can pull such a crowd.

However, his successor Muhammadu Buhari came in and exposed his ignorance in handling such political matter.

Since 2014 I followed him and gradually loved him even as he was arrested by Nigeria Government in late 2015.

Now I am very sure everyone else knows how he was unjustly arrested and has been maltreated for about two years for committing no crime, except asking for the freedom of his people.

We all know how over 4000 of his IPOB activist, were shot and killed unlawfully by Nigeria evil armed forces for committing no crime.

We also know how he was abandoned and castigated by elders and politicians from the South East and South South (Biafra Land). They called him a small boy, a tout, a noise maker, a war monger, all because they perceived him as just a young man coming to take their positions in the political space of Biafraland.

What baffles people like me is the fact that those who abandoned him are now the ones trying to make a friend of him.

Today he is being seen as a hero and a prophet that every Eastern political class are now struggling to snap a picture with. They want to show their faces as his friends so that his followers will love them.

The question is, who is Nnamdi Kanu that he is so loved not only by his own people, but by people from other part of the world?

Who is Nnamdi Kanu that when he was finally granted bail the third time, many Nigerian politicians were competing to be part of his sureties?

Who is this Nnamdi Kanu ?
An ordinary man of yesterday, who has today transformed as the most popular hero in the world. A man who made Biafra issue to be the most sorted out name since the struggle of Biafra.  A man who brought the Biafra issue to international limelight.

Who is Nnamdi Kanu?
Is he another prophet Joshua? or is he going to be greater than Joshua?
Is he going to repeat what Joshua did in the Bible, by securing the freedom of his people, and lead them to their promised land?

What manner of a man is Nnamdi Kanu? This question is begging for an answer.

Former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has described security votes as the biggest source of waste in the country and asked that governors be made to account for them.

Obi, who also described security votes as unconstitutional, spoke at The Platform, a programme organised by Covenant Christian Centre, Lagos.

The former governor said: “Let me tell Nigerians; there is nothing in our constitution called security votes. Anybody who tells you that is lying. It is a terminology that was formulated over the years. What we have is contingency fund.

“I can say today that it is being abused; it has become our biggest source of waste. Today it is about 30 percent of expenditure.

“For me, there is need to review it. In fact, what I say to people is that when you finish being a governor, in Anambra State for example, where I finished, I should be invited to account for security votes, so people will know that when you are done, you give account.”
