The situation when you refresh your gmail account every second in anticipation for UI hall approval mail. Viola! New mail popped up! No doubt in your mind; your mind said and confirmed it as the hall approval mail. The anticipation grew intensively and your anxiety became abnormal. You are praying from one small corner of your mind. Firing and swearing the devil of negative mail with blood of Jesus and in veracity of Mountain of fire devil-crushing prayer.

You finally evoked the courage and check the message. shocked but the subject of the message was ' Effective Penis Enlargement Medicine' from Mr Emeka Chukuma.

However, if you want to do hall application process by yourself, pls do strictly follow the instructions. The instructions on passport in particular. Because, your application would be automatically disapproved if you disobey the instructions.

I've applied.

Have a saved passport on your phone or pc in an easily identifiable folder/location

have your 3 referee contacts.

Enter every data carefully, enter your referee data then tick the attestation box that your infos are correct then submit application.

A link to download your data will be displayed upon submission of data, click to download/print.

Hall Authority to Pay will be sent to your school email.

This is where my concern lies. What email exactly? An email that Google doesn't recognize? I haven't seen anyone here that has shared the case of being able log in. UI admission unit needs to do something in regard to this obscure process. I have u been able to log in yourself, cassy?

Whaylecs:
The next time you come across a well-dressed young man arguing vehemently and threatening to do battle with a bus conductor in Lagos, don’t walk away like most people do. Wait till the fight is over and ask the young man this question: Are you a Zikite? In eight out of 10 cases, the guy would be a graduate of the University of Ibadan who was "unfortunate" to be offered accommodation in the institution’s most popular hall of residence.
Zikites, as residents of University of Ibadan’s Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall are addressed, are known for their uncompromising stand against injustice. However, they sometimes take their activism too far and that’s why the institution’s central administration has consistently branded the Hall as a "haven of thugs and notorious elements".
I’m a Zikite and forever will be one. Having graduated from UI last year, I must admit that I miss living in Zik Hall. The hall is a replica of the Kalakuta Republic, and Fela would not have hesitated in making it an extension of his liberal kingdom, were he to be alive. Don’t get me wrong, please. The activities of Zikites do not come near what obtained on Gbemisola Street. Though Zik Hall is a place of contrasts, its residents respect the beliefs of one another.
It is a hall where Christians will be praying and someone with a lit cigarette (and sometimes a roll of hemp) between his fingers will walk by and greetings would be exchanged. The Moslems wake up early, do their prayers and head back to their rooms to devour pots of beans with their roommates who are Christians, Buddhists etc. Though the Hall has been labeled a den of rebels, it is a nice place to live in. Nice in the sense that you can’t be oppressed in Zik Hall. The Hall has a unique culture that is strictly observed and valued by true Zikites. Unlike some other Halls of Residence where students lord it over one another, you are a freeborn in Zik Hall. It is a place where 100 level students and finalists see themselves as comrades, rather than trying to subdue one another. When you’re broke as a Zikite, all you need do is to pick up your spoon and enter any of the 253 rooms in the Hall. You will come out smiling with the hunger getting conquered.
Have you heard of the word "Zikism"? Zikism is the philosophy that defines the lifestyle of residents of Zik Hall. Zikites are an unusual lot, I must admit. The Hall’s geographical location on the UI campus does not help matters. It is very close to the university’s Zoological garden, so Zikites enjoy the queer privilege of being woken up daily by the roars of the zoo’s lion. When some baboons escaped from the zoo in 2001, they naturally came to Zik Hall and Zikites were on hand to catch and return them to their enclosure. People have attributed the strange behaviour of Zikites to the proximity of the Hall to the Zoological Garden.
You need to be around when Zikites hold their yearly carnival. Brilliant students would stay away from their books for some hours to show the university community their weird attributes. They dress up as ghosts and zombies (remember Michael Jackson’s Thriller?), masquerades, Ifa and Sango priests, Count Dracula, Okija shine priests (with plastic human skulls tied round their necks) professors, madmen, pastors and Imams, etc. They would move round the campus, dancing to music supplied by a hired band and the Hall’s supporters club. The Zik Hall carnival is always a sight to behold with residents of the university’s other halls of residence being held spellbound by the tantrums of their course mates.
Writing comprehensively on Zik Hall could lead to writing a Ph.D. thesis. However, it should be noted that the hall breeds great men. Call them what you want, but Zikites are intelligent, resourceful, law abiding and God fearing. Right from its inception in the 60s, Zik Hall has continued to produce men that have done the nation proud. The list includes Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, Mutiu Adepoju, Dimeji Lawal, Oba Wole Amele (councilor Balogun of the village Headmaster series), Major General Victor Odeka, Chief Dayo Abatan, the late activist, Dr Kumolu Johnson, amongst others. Anytime you are on the UI campus, try and take a cab to the Hall referred to as the heartbeat of the university – Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall. It is the abode of unpretentious undergraduates.

Brilliant write up. But this hall is not for my lifestyle.

OP you have said your mind and you asked valid questions
well, the thing is, nigeria has branded igbo as evil since after the war
federal govts has refused to give SE what other regions have thus se is poor and its mostly only business of buying and selling that thrive there
SE LACKS
SEA PORT
GOOD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
GOOD FEDERAL ROADS AND PROJECTS
etc
so tell me, who would love to live there if not the natives who can manage?
you know, what we have are either provided by state govt or individual efforts and you already know that its not good enough.
we are friendly, honest and hardworking people
but we hate to be intimidated simple
i hope i answered SOME of your questions?
proudly from the erosion ravaged anambra state

i am a yoruba, but i feel for you. i can understand your predicament, but you guys need to look inward. your states executive rake in billions of naira from federal allocation. if WE monitor our state Governors, every states will be a better place to live. those governors are corrupt than federal yam eater.

Education / Student Bags First Class After 17 Carry-overs In Previous Course by ogunsinamayowa(m): 8:31am On Jan 10, 2016
The Internet was abuzz on Saturday after the story of a student, Hillary Agbo-Odeh, who graduated with flying colours against all the odds, went viral.

According to an online medium, Idoma Voice, 30-year-old Agbo-Odeh completed his Psychology programme in Benue State University with a first-class degree after no less than 17 failed courses as an undergraduate.

The Idoma native reportedly completed his secondary education in 2003 before applying for a pre-degree programme at BSU in 2005 with the hope of studying Medicine and Surgery.

Though Agbo-Odeh was said to have emerged as one of the best in the remedial programme that year, he was offered admission to study Physics instead.

It said, “In frustration, he took the plunge and settled with the Physics (programme) he was offered with little interest in the course. He struggled with the course due to lack of interest. It wasn’t surprising at all that he could not cope with studies as frustration and depression set in his academic pursuit.

“Agbo-Odeh was at his lowest ebb in his final year when his 300-level result was published. He was at the bottom of his class crawling with 17 carry-overs; he was placed on probation by the school authority. He became the subject of mockery in the school among his colleagues.

“Hilary came to a decision point: ‘Why stay here and be withdrawn?’ He told himself the hard truth, it was time to move forward regardless of the storms.”

The online medium added that Agbo-Odeh then picked a new form for the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board Exams and applied for Psychology, which he considered to be closely related to Medicine.

“By the second semester of his final year (as a Physics student), the JAMB admission (list) was out and he was admitted to study Psychology. Hence, he withdrew from the Physics Department and started a fresh academic journey in the department of Psychology.

“The young resilient Idoma boy from Ohimini, the worst student in Physics, with 17 carry-overs to his name, would graduate from the Psychology Department of the same university with a cumulative grade point average of 4.57.

“His outstanding performance broke many records in the university, including the pioneer first class in the Psychology Department since the university’s inception in 1992. He also became the overall best graduating student of the 14th and 15th combined convocation of BSU held on January 17, 2015. His exploits came with several rewards, he bagged seven academic awards including the Tony and Awele Elumelu Prize for Excellence.”

UI doesn't run predegree program on full time basis for students. The only option for you is Distant Learning (diploma). It is two years program. and 60 thousand per year. i guess you have knowledge as regard to distant learning?

ogunsinamayowa:

Thanks for your detailed reply. I have another questions:
1: in applying for graduate assistantship: will i send my application with all necessary documents and statement intent when the uni advertising the opportunity for graduate assistantship.

2: Base on what you said, how can i easily find a supervisor that his research interests is comformable with mine and if i find him, will i send my application through him? ( my research interests fall between anything related to electoral practice or subordinate level of government in relation with centrifugal administration.)

3. please specify on those documents which i must submit that will favour my scale in seeking for graduate assistantship application.

4. this is the must significant question of all. when am applying for student permit, what will i tell in respect to financial source for tuition fee, accommodation and maintenance at visa application center ? do i need to provide proof of my financial capability to take care of myself through my studying period before i will be granted a visa after i have accepted assistantship offer from the university? and do i need to provide for anything besides my travelling expenses and hotel accommodation before commencement of my graduate program and assistantship.
thanks for your priceless aid.

Jengbetiele, please do find time to answer my questions. please.
