Traffic today is crazy ooo...
Uber/taxify drivers run from traffic. Waste of time, fuel and money...
Let's keep Lagos moving

My heartfelt gratitude to ogunvic41, thank you and may God continue to bless and grant you more wisdom, strength and heart desires.

You're indeed a good example of patriotic. Not only because you spend your valuable airtime, time and knowledge but from your voice I hear the excitement and joy it gives you to assist another brother in need (that you don't even know).

I am more inspired and fully charged to explore now. Really I can't express my gratitude enough. Thank you again sir.
My pleasure sir... Anytime let's make the money

Don't mind all the people discouraging you. It's a nice idea and you will make it. You can easily get misled on this platform. I am a driver and I'm also a partner so I know what I'm talking about. Some drivers complain because they are always thinking too small. Their attitude is their biggest problem. I have four drivers working for me, they are smart and I also give them better orientation. You don't limit your income generation to just uber or Taxify... people were making money from driving before they came in. They simply identify a need and they came in. There are still many needs people need cars for out there. Identify them and stop limiting your income generation to just uber and Taxify. And example of what I have added is school runs. It's a fixed amount monthly and I share profits with my drivers, it encourages them and it also makes them understand we are here to make money, not just work for uber or Taxify. You just need to think big.
GOD BLESS U MY BROTHER, I TOT I WAS THE ONLY ONE O. I MAKE 450K TO 550K MONTHLY ON A SINGLE CAR. AM A PROFESSIONAL DRIVER, DRIVING IS MY HOBBY...

I was forced to chat them up yesterday because most of my riders always compliment me and I see no reason why my rating will drop from 4.7 to 4.53. To make the matter worst; any rating below 4.5 doesnt not qualify for their promo
One star rating is enough to drop ur rating that low...
Its average so do the maths

Front struts and engine mounts do not wear out at once, wear is progressive.

Your engine mounts and struts were not destroyed by new driver.

Meanwile from experience the struts of your veicle hardly fail, look in the direction of te steering rack.

Good luck.
Boss, I remembered telling u my Peugeot 407 is FAR STRONGER than corolla...

Nice thread here. I have gone through a few pages on this thread in the month of August and September, and I'm keen to have someone explain a few points to me please.

1. The Uber/Taxify business in Nigeria, is it dominated mainly by individual drivers, or are there partnerships who put capital together to buy a fleet of cars which they give out to drivers?

2. How viable is it as a business start-up if the initial cars are bought fairly-used as compared to new? What I mean is, is it preferable to buy 3 new cars, or buy 5-6 used cars?

The reason I'm asking is I'm possibly looking into forming a consortium of like-minded individuals willing to put personal capital together to buy a fleet of cars for this business, a tentative location will either in Lagos, Nigeria or in Nairobi, Kenya. I'm not keen on the individual driver side of things, it's the partnership fleet business I'm interested in.
Email me ur number. Will put u thru, its a very good business...

dawg2002:
Hello guys, fine Uber has sort of made it difficult for guys to break even with their price reduction and also the amount they deduct from the trip earnings is quite high.

But truth be told the attitudes of drivers aren't different from Uber as an organization, cause most partner driver are only out to look for what they can get 100% , while they jump to the next car once they are done wrecking your car.

Have only joined Uber as owner/partner for roughly 3months, gave the car to a supposed experienced e-hailing cab driver, started with N40k per month after just 2 weeks said he cant cope that the e-hailing thing is not that profitable as it used to be...

He negotiated N35k, which I agreed, fast forward to yesterday, he has dropped the car(2011 TOYOTA COROLLA) with my mechanic. Why? two front shock absorbers are gone, engine seat dismantled. I surely wld fix the car and keep it moving.

Information I got is that dude is out there looking for the next vehicle to ride...

How is he different from Uber as company that's out here to maximize their profit, and him that his only concern is to make money at the detriment of someone else's hard earned money.

LETS ALL BE FAIR.
I won't fully blame the driver bro, if u want to be successful in the business the car suspension must be on point as in very strong. Our roads are very bad so ur shocks and others must suffer its normal, that's why I go for cars with STRONG SUSPENSION not just fuel economy many partner only consider fuel economy and neglect the suspension part of it which is more important. Can u buy brand new original shocks for ur corolla? The 4 cost over 200k ASK GAZZUZ, am sure u are gonna replace the spoilt shocks with either tokunbo shocks or a brand new Chinese type that won't last more than 3 months... So who takes the blame? The driver? or You? My observation is MANY SO CALLED PARTNERS DONT EVEN UNDERSTAND THIS BUSINESS AND THEY PUT UNNECESSARY BLAMES ON DRIVERS...Email me ur number I will give u some tips to be successful in this business.

Thanks for your response. I am thinking on taking less than 1.5, repayment is 3-4 years with monthly deduction of 40-50k. Looking to buy a used Honda Accord. Unfortunately, it is not possible i drive it myself except maybe only weekends. What do you think? Do you think i can make 50k net of expenses driving just weekends as a newbie?
Honda accord not good for uber/taxify...
Corolla or Peugeot 407. I drive Peugeot 407 its cheaper to maintain than a corolla. Fuel economy is almost the same. Email me for more advise
