Your problem may not just be Staph. Staph will not give you that symptom after a few days. There may be another problem. Staph is the most misinterpreted STI, as it is everywhere, any small contamination while collecting the sample will make the test read positive for Staph. Also, looking at your reckless Sex life, consider running a comprehensive check after some months. Sexual purity is beautiful. |

In light of recent happenings in the educational sector of Nigeria, particularly in Kaduna State, the competency of an average Nigerian teacher is being questioned and their job security threatened. Last week, the Governor of Kaduna State, El Rufai Nasir took upon the state’s Twitter handle to announce the failure of over 20,000 teachers who took part in a primary four competency test. Of the 33,000 teachers who took this test, 21,780 teachers were said to have scored below the pass mark of 75% and thus didn’t meet the requirement to teach. They are all to be fired. This may be surprising, but definitely not the first of its kind. Similarly in 2014, Former Governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, made it compulsory for teachers in Edo state to undergo an assessment test. The comrade Governor did this having discovered a terrible decline in the standard of education in the state’s schools, particularly when he stumbled into a teacher who could not read her own affidavit of age. These are two perspectives of two different states, by two different governors, in two different eras. The question now to ask is “are these governors just trying to make life miserable for these teaching professionals or the average Nigerian teacher is not just competent enough?” Too many questions in my mind. Some time ago, I read the story of a Lagos state secondary school teacher who felt embarrassed when asked by one of his students why he didn’t have a car. This young lad had a very wealthy father and thus cars where sort of in abundance. In the same vein, he thought it was normal and ordinary for his uncle too to also have a car. But while the innocent boy felt it as harmless in asking such question based on his background, the teacher saw it from another light. He felt embarrassed and probably thought it as a form of mockery. Come to even think of it, how many teachers in Nigeria can really afford a car with the salary they earn? As regarding their salaries, in August 2017, MySalaryScale carried out a survey to produce insight on the salaries of Nigerian teachers. The final result of teachers’ average salary was quite poor. It was also not encouraging and quite disheartening. Nigerian teachers were found to be earning an average salary of #49,000 per month. Further study also proved that even after some of these teachers have been there for years, say ten years or more as senior level staff, they still earn an average salary of #59,000. This is only an average. Some teachers earn more than this and some even less. See Nigerian teachers’ salaries for more details. Kaduna State Governor and teachers Now, going back to the issue of Kaduna State Governor questioning the competency of Nigerian teachers. From the story and survey above, it may just be that these teachers’ standard of living and salary structure could have also played a role in their mass failure. El Rufai may find it satisfying in making demeaning statements about the Nigerian teachers on social media, but some other Nigerians have different opinions to that regard. Abbas Yusuf, a Nigerian replying the governor’s statement on twitter said “What do you expect from a hungry person? Most of them have not received their salaries for months, how do you expect them to pass exams?” This now links the two issues together Nigerian teachers’ salaries and their competency. An average teacher has a low standard of living, receives meager salary and also do not receive it on time. Are these not enough reasons to lose one’s competence? Is it not enough to fail an examination? Personally, I think it may just be. The Kaduna State Government and others states as well, should review the salary structure of the teachers and make the profession more competitive and attractive. This will even attract more qualified individuals to take up teaching jobs. If this is done and the competency of Nigerian teachers is still found wanting, then the Kaduna State Government can carry out their judgement justifiably. Not just firing them, without even giving them benefit of a doubt. The questions now are; Did the salary structure and well-being of these teachers affect their performance in that primary four competency test? Could it be that there is a correlation between the low salary of teachers and their perceived state of incompetence? Could it even be that Kaduna State Government and the rest of the northern states in Nigeria generally do not pay their teachers well? Kindly do well to share your thoughts about these questions.

Today being Sunday and thinking of giving back to the society, I decided to pen down 21 ways to avoid scam jobs based on my wealth of experience in the industry. A. Before You Start Your Job Search 1. Be focused: Knowing what you want in life may be the first step towards avoiding scam jobs and ultimately nailing a job. Avoid applying randomly to all positions you see. Many job seekers do not read job descriptions anymore. They simply "throw the ball" as soon as they see "Admin", "Customer", "HR", "Intern", among other titles. THe more your random throws, the higher your chances of nailing a fake invite. B. Before you start applying 2. Do not use general directories. These directories are open to the public and lot's of people advertise different products and services on these platforms. This may not be the best place for your job search. You can message me for names ![]() 3. Use reliable job boards. Identify job boards with very low Spam rate. Now, I will recommend www.myjobmag.com. We go a long way in verifying our jobs. As a mantra, we rather have a false positive than a false negative. 4. Be careful with job aggregators. These guys do a great job bringing all jobs together from different sources and the process is automated. Hence, they do not confirm the jobs listed. While using job aggregators, watch the websites they redirect to and be sure they are trusted. C. Research You do not start researching a company when you get an invite. You should start your research before sending in your application. Serious candidates research companies before applying. 5. Google the company, see what comes up. What can you see about them? 6. Visit Nairaland, search for the company name and read reviews 7. Go to LinkedIn and check them out. Do they have a company page and staff? A company claiming to be in existence for 25 years ought to have a history. There may be few exceptions 8. Google the email address used. This will reveal different places that the email has been used. This may be an eye-opener. 9. If you are not convinced, check if the company is even existing on CAC website. Read how to do this here: https://www.myjobmag.com/square/article/194/how-to-check-if-a-company-is-registered-in-nigeria-with-cac-corporate-affairs-commission 10. Search for a phrase or two in the job description and see if it appears elsewhere. Watch out for the volume of jobs posted unless it is a recruitment firm. D. During Applications 11. Please please please, do not apply randomly. If you use more than one job website, keep track of all your applications with a diary or notepad. Asides fishing out fake invites, it does not make sense if you are invited and you end up asking your interviewer for the position. I consider this ridiculous. 12. Install Grammarly Chrome extension or simply sign up on Grammarly.com for your English corrections. Pardon me, this has nothing to do with scam jobs, but it will do you lots of good. 13. Watch out for Graduate Trainee Recruitment in unknown organizations. From experience, small Organizations lookout for specialists. Most SMEs do not have the capacity to run massive graduate recruitment schemes. They do not even have the resources to absorb that number. So, before applying to that Graduate Recruitment Program at QtQ, do your research. 14. Watch out for Graduate Trainee Programs with application email. Due to the usual massive response to General Graduate roles, most reasonable companies use portals for easy candidate management. E. When you receive the invite 15a. Be happy (this is a bonus). Some people are praying to get an invite, even if it is GNLD. This is not a joke! 15b. Check your diary to confirm if you sent in the application. I guess you are safer if you did. Watch out for phrases like: based on recommendation, invitation for chat/training, ref code, etc. in invite text messages. 16. Research the company again. Refer to Section C on Research 17. In addition to Section C, check the company's social media activity: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Be smart about this. In another edition, I will write on this. 18. Google the company name, try using the short form if you cannot find good results online. 19. Google the phone number they want you to call (if any). Be careful when they send phone numbers in the text message invites. 20. Google the interview address to see if it exists somewhere and in what context. 21. If the test/interview location is in Lagos, use the Google Instant Street View to see what the area you are going to looks like https://www.instantstreetview.com/ This site is not updated real-time but it gives you an idea. Ultimately, be wise and seek wise counsel. You can email services@myjobmag.com if you use MyJobMag and you are not sure of a job invite. Goodluck in your search. Info-graph 1: Top 50 Companies in Nigeria with the Highest Salaries for 2017 [/img] MySalaryScale Top 50 Companies in Nigeria based on their Salary structure - The oil and gas sector still maintains their positions as the best sector to work in, in terms of their salary structure to the employees which encompasses basic pay, bonuses, profit sharing and other financial benefits. They make over 20% of the companies in Nigeria in 2017 with the highest salary. - Although, firms in the banking sector tend to deal with money on a daily basis, it is however, alarming to see that only three of the numerous banks in Nigeria were able to make it up to the top 50 list in terms of the salary they pay their employees. And one of them obviously is the CBN. - Multinational companies made over 80% of the list, while local companies constituting just a microscopic few. This suggests the need for local companies to step up their game in regards to their salary structure in order to be more competitive against their foreign counterparts. Just 5 of the 50 ranked companies are listed on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange which constitutes just 10%. This means most of the companies that pay this much are mostly privately owned or are listed in a foreign stock exchange. - With all the efforts of Teachers and the educational sector as a whole in Nigeria, it’s quite alarming to see that just two educational institutions made the top 50 list. In addition, none of these two educational institution is Nigerian-owned. This suggests the need for the government to look into the salaries structures of teachers in public universities. Local-privately owned institutions are also encouraged to step up their game in this regard. Surprisingly, organizations that are supposed to be termed “not-profit making” made the list of the highest paying organizations in Nigeria. Most of these NGO’s are housed in the North-east part of Nigeria. This is also justifies the reason Borno state made the top ten states in Nigeria with Highest salaries . Info-graph 2: Top 10 States in Nigeria with the Highest Salaries for 2017 Salaries of states in Nigeria Salaries of states in Nigeria Three of the top 10 lists for states with the highest salaries majorly relies on oil for revenue. This ‘oil’ also explains the reason why companies in these state(s) pay their employees handsomely. See salaries of states in Nigeria Seven of the top ten states are in the southern part of the country, with four as the majority from south-south, three from south-west and only one from the south-east. The three other states are well divided across the north, with each representing the three northern region. Lagos state constitutes about 15% of the entire average salary for the 10 states, showing how far the state has left others behind in terms of rewarding her employees in proportion to their labour. This could be due to the city being the most commercialized in Nigeria among other reasons. It however also has meager pays in some cases, but on the average has the highest in Nigeria. Abuja follows closely with about 11%. With Borno in 5th position with 10%. Most of these NGO’s in Nigeria are situated in the North-east part of Nigeria. This is due to the constant insurgencies in that region. Thus lots of foundations go there to help in different ways they can, majorly to provide healthcare and food. NGO’s in lot of cases pay higher than profit making organizations. Most of the Jobs are on contract basis though. Borno being the main state of these insurgencies, justifies the reason the state made the top ten list in Nigeria with Highest salaries. An average medical doctor in Borno earns more than an average medical doctor in south-south mainly because of the cost of hazards. While Janitors sinks at the bottom of the list as the least lucrative profession in Nigeria with an average salary of 54K Survey Methodology and Respondents Overview The survey was conducted targeting the degree-graduate employees.
