Programming / Python Certification Associate Program (PCAP Weekend) Has Just Begun! by Oiselenjakhian(m): 4:02pm On Feb 04, 2019
What is PCAP?
The Python Certification Associate Program (PCAP) is tripartite program for kids and teens who want to learn to code with Python programming language.

The First term program took off on Saturday the 26th of January and we have 7 more weeks to go. It was an amazing time learning the basics of programming with Python.

This is an introductory course to computer science based on the Python programming language. In the weeks to come, students will learn the foundation of computer programming, basic computer algorithm and data structure and how to use them for effective problem solving.

What Will My Child Learn at the Python Certification Associate Program (PCAP)?
1. The first class was all about algorithm – A step by step method of solving a problem, based on conducting a sequence of specified actions. Think about an algorithm for getting dressed in the morning. You would want to wear the right piece of clothing in the right order. Try writing an algorithm for a RoboChef to cook a delicious indomie meal for lunch. Congratulations, you have just written your first computer code.

2. Other skills to be discovered and developed in this unique learning process are the ability to learn concepts and apply them to other problems, basic mathematical skills, passion for problem solving, good communications skills, good writing skills and resourcefulness.

3. Best of all, we have taken learning process outside the four walls of the classroom to Emerge Tutors Slack Channel, an online e-learning platform that enables both learners and facilitators communicate and collaborate on the learning process. All students are invited to join Emerge Tutors’ Slack Channel and parents are welcome to be part of this learning process too and maybe pick up one or two computer programming skills.

Registration is still on.

How to Register for the Python Certification Associate Program (PCAP) ?

Programming / Technovation 2019 South West Nigeria by Oiselenjakhian(m): 3:16pm On Jan 23, 2019
Since 2016, it has been my priviledged to be involved in the Technovation Challenge.

Last year the team from Nigeria won the world finals. That team was from Anambra state and part of their reason for winning was that they qualified from the regional competition in Abuja.

When the teams are judged regionally, their chances of getting to the finals increases.

This is what the team from Anambra state did last year and this is what I intend to do this year in the South West.

For this to happen, we need mentors who will help to work with a team of girls and form them into teams.

If you know anyone who would be interested, please get them to fill this form: https:///forms/DOZWupGN50AHDFbS2

Hello Everyone,

In my work as a CodeLagos Master trainer, it is my responsibility to recruit, train, select and allocate CodeLagos Out of School facilitators.

Last week, we took in a new batch of facilitators for the CodeLagos Out of School Batch 4.

At present, the ratio of male to female facilitators is too low.

It would be my desire to increase the number of female facilitators as we move to the 5th and final batch of the year.

If you or any female you know can teach Web Design, Python and Java and would like a job as a CodeLagos Out of School Facilitator, please send your CV to trustonailende@gmail.com with the subject: "CodeLagos Female Facilitator".
