If you like have first class upper it won't stop them from north posting you to the NE though it might not be immediately but at a time in your career you might be posted there, only women are exempted.
It goes like this
Computer science.. Signals
Geography, artillery.
Engineering, engineers.
Chemistry, ordinance.
Intelligence study, intelligence or military police.
etc People that studied wonderful courses like Fishery, forestry, religion, animal husbandry etc has higher chances of being posted to Infantry etc
And for RC they have always written promotional exams before promotion except moving from 2nd Lt to Lieutenant.

Me think otherwise. It's a privilege to fight and die for your country. How will someone join the army thinking they won't taste action? especially in this trying times. Now posting is on rotational basis(turn by turn) usually 4-5yrs unless such a person has a godfather influencing his posting, but one day na one day, the god father might be sent for a course abroad or retire, that time the person eye go clear.

I dey always enjoy u senior.....even the SSC 45 as at last week they were given 3 optional to select corps they want to join ( as in u select 3 different corps) though NA have d final say....Also there course of study and class of degree was also asked for.....meaning not all of them will go to war front, some might not even near NE till they retire especially the gallant 14 females among them.....so you can predict NA DSSC/SSC na same same How many people here have heard that RC guys will start writing promotion exams ...preferentialtreatment for RC is declining in NA

read my comment again... I've been there... SSC Course 45 has the lowest number of cadets in a very long time... Most of them dashed.... In my state there's only one left and some states have none

Present SSC 45 have been back dated to Jan 2017...so u know what that's mean. ...they will be hanging liteuanant in 2yrs+ to come

SSC C44 passed out 2017 September making them 2 years now, and they are to hang Substantive Lt from March 2020 which makes them 2 years 6 months with 2/ Lt. From there it will follows as this Below....

I understand ur points clearly. .....but presently RC will hang lieutenant immediately they knack 1yr previously 6mths,while SSC will hang immediately they knack 2yrs ....
