Politics › Re: Northern APC (CPC/ANPP) Can Pull Out Of APC by Ojiofor: 6:53pm On Aug 04, 2024 |
CriminalTinubu: If this happens, ACN will automatically become minority in all chambers of government.
Futher, the Northern faction can consolidate with other smaller parties, maybe not fully but on various levels and situations. They have nothing to lose in a 50-50 arrangement since they are not even having 10% of their way in the current APC setup.
For example, CPC can align with PDP and LP in the Senate just to impeach Akpabio. CPC can also align with LP & PDP governors on various interests.
The ACN lack the national support or structure to mount a challenge to any of the above scenarios as no opposition party member outside the South West will be willing to align with them on anything seeing their current predicament.
Another angle is that this move will level the playing ground for all parties in Nigeria as any wrong calculation by one party can result in it's annihilation since the others have similar individual numbers.
The APC currently have 59 senators while PDP have 37. If the Northern APC pulls out, ACN will drop to less than 30. Similar scenario in the House of Assembly of 176 lawmakers.
This move will really weaken Tinubu's 'federal might' since he has to now build bridges with 1 or 2 parties to pass anything unlike the rubberstamp modus operandi of the day.
This move can also help the governors so other party governors should be considering it. Take Rivers and Edo states situation for example under the chokehold of APC's 'federal might'.
If the North doesn't take advantage of this opportunity now they may never get it again and if they think they can wait till 2027 and hijack the party they will be gravely mistaken because Tinubu will not hesitate to do exactly what I typed up there if he senses his loss just to ensure that the Northern faction does not get the upper hand. By then, it may be too late.
Buhari, El Rufai, Ndume & co surely must be considering this. What happens to northern PDAPC? |

Politics › Re: Why Biafra Lost The War - Lessons Biafra Agitators Must Learn by Ojiofor: 4:54pm On Aug 04, 2024 |
franchasng: Good morning brothers and sisters from the Eastern Nigeria.
My message is mainly for the Igbos and to those who are agitating for Biafra now or may want to do so in future.
Before I move to the main points, let me make this known to all; failure is common to every successful person, most times the number of times you fail determines how huge your success will be, but you must learn from your past failures and make corrections where necessary in order for you to win tomorrow.
It is no secret that Biafra lost the war to Nigeria in 1970 even though Gowon the then Head of state of Nigeria cunningly declared the war a no victor no vanquish. Nigeria won Biafra, let's not argue that, but what we should focus on is why did Biafra lost the war despite the fact that they were fighting a just war to defend themselves from unwarranted oppression and persecution by people they called countrymen?
As someone that comes from a family that played major role in the Nigerian politics from 1950 to 1970, even though I wasn't born when the war was fought, but I can confidently tell the full story about the war; from what led to the coup, who participated in the coup and what led to the outbreak of the civil war and finally why Biafra lost the war.
For the records, my father fought in the war even though he wasn't a trained soldier, he was only a young civil servant who got conscripted into the Biafran military to fight at the war front with little training. But my uncles who were trained Nigerian soldiers, who attended the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst and one being a strong ally of Ojukwu and another an ally of Kaduna Nzeogwu, I can say I have the full history in my palms because they told us every truth about the coup, their mistakes, their initial plan and why Biafra lost the war.
Meanwhile, I am not here to talk about the January 1966 coup and the counter coup that led to Northern pogrom, etc, maybe I will find time to talk about that some other time, but in this very write up, I want to talk about why Biafra lost the war to Nigeria, as a way of teaching other Igbos/Biafrans some lessons that we Igbos must learn in order to triumph in this Nigerian contraption we found ourselves in, if not, our journey will be very long.
I will continue in my next post, follow me.
Dear Igbos, you can also read why Biafra lost the war by another Igbo personality who witnessed the war firsthand by going here https://ariseafrika.com/2023/10/geopolitical-wisdom-for-serious-reflection-o-ji-ofo-gala-ma-ya-mara-uzo-by-prof-chidi-osuagwu.html Lack of adequate preparation, lack of weapons and international support is just few reasons that led to defeat of Biafra. We should get over it andmove on.The current agitation for Biafra led by charlantans like (MNK&Ekpa) is the worst thing to happen to the legacy of Biafra and Igbo nation. |

Kobojunkieee: No! The masses are doing exactly what ought to be done. This is what our parents and their parents before them should have done and done it right. But because they choose to believe the many lies their so-called leaders and politicians fed to them, their children and children's children are paying dearly for it today and may continue to if this problem is not absolutely nipped once and for all.
My hope is that the death of those who went out to protest this time around would not be in vain; only the Nigerian people can decide that for them. Amen! May Nigeria succeed! |

Kobojunkieee: So? Do you stop demanding change because the opposition fights back? I don't follow at all. Do you, for example know how many people died to buy the people their rights and freedoms they have today in America? No,that is the reason people keep protesting. You sounded as if the masses are not making any efforts to hold their leaders accountable. |

Kobojunkieee: The ones to hold those in government responsible are the people though.
↪ Democracy is NOT a Government for the people by the thieves and the corrupt. ↪ Democracy is NOT a Government for the thieves by the thieves. ↪ Democracy is NOT a Government for the rich by the rich. ↪ Democracy is NOT a Government for the people by the rich.
Rather, Democracy is Government for the people by the people. Those that were shot dead by the military and police during ENDSARS protest came out to hold their government responsible only to be killed. Today people are protesting against bad governance in a bid to hold their government resposnsible but the government have refused to be responsible. |

Raskimonojendor: It would be rare to find, not just Yorubas but for every other tribe, even ibos themselves.
Remember that tribalism and clannish tribalism is high in that region. E.g. Abia people recently rejected a mayor from Anambra. Bianca Ojukwu was rejected by some Anambrans in contesting for election in the state because she is from Enugu. Don't let me even talk about that of the discrimination on Ebonyi people hahaha And who is Mayor of Aba today? Same man. |

LandMann: Your father is an idiot.
Perhaps you are one of the government propaganda zombié on nl. Any southeasterner who believes in your misleading logic will only put their region in more problem in future.
Yes, you don't need anything from Nigeria. But Nigeria will make it difficult for you to achieve anything if you keep fighting a lone battle.
Funny enough, it's easier for Igbos and Hausas to work together and build Nigeria to enviable heights if not for the perpetual brainwashing that you government propaganda zombiés spread to discourage any unity between Igbos and Hausas. Forget street protest Igbos don pass that level. We are protesting in our own way.Once we enter street to protest,Yoruba Ronu Tinubu camp will twist the whole thing and label it 'IGBO PROTEST' and the whole country will start fighting against the great Igbo nation. Dey your dey make we dey our dey. |

T9ksy: Major Victor Banjo was not part of the Jan '66 coup but somehow I suspect , you knew this but being such a despicable fella, you just have to include him (Banjo) to give your lies a certain level of authenciticy. Banjo was arrested on Jan 17th allegedly, for trying to yopple Ironsi's illegitimate regime.
As for Col Fajuyi, if he's implicated in the Jan 15th coupthen so tooust Ironsi as they are both very close having fought together in the congo war . Banjo was part of the coupist and the reason he was arrested by Gen Ironsi. How come a coup that Yoruba military officers actively planned and participated in become an Igbo coup? |

Kobojunkieee: These people use words to manipulate people into living as cowards in their own papa land. Look at the cunning way this man insists, without evidence that Ibos will be wasted if they go out to protest.
Below is a list of those who were killed during the EndSars protest. Note how the list cut across tribes as as no one tribe was targeted or spared the evil onslaught that ensued. These protestors died while protesting for what was right yet these insensitive individuals you have in government ridicule their dead and the meaning of it for their own interest and purpose. Why Nigerians continue to stand all of this insult and disrespect, the world is yet to understand. APC and Sanwo Olu said nobody died during Endsars protest. |

sIfioksq: The North has every right to be cautious. Igbos have a history of using protests as a cover for their own agendas. It's always about them, and when the dust settles, they leave others to deal with the chaos. The deception runs deep, and it's time the North stands firm and distances itself from such antics. Enough is enough. Did the North participate in #ENDSARS protest? Did anyone drag them? Are they not adults?Meanwhile ndi Igbo are as honest and straight as a stick of cigarette they made it known to every one that they won't protest against Tinubu's government weeks before the protest started. If Igbos had joined the protest they will be blamed for any violence and to avoid that they refuse to join the protest and still they are being blamed as if those that portested have no brain of their own.Una no be malu na. |
