I remember years ago when some people were screaming that IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, should be arrested, I told these people that arresting Nnamdi Kanu will not help matters. You can arrest the leader of a movement, but can never arrest the movement its self.

Nnamdi Kanu has been in DSS detention for 18 months and insecurity has only deteriorated. To make matters worse, Nnamdi Kanu has defeated the Federal government in every court and is about to walk away with victory and his freedom at the Supreme court

So what has arresting Nnamdi Kanu achieved? It only increased Kanu's fan base

Now some people are saying arrest Simon Ekpa, to repeat the same cycle again?

Insecurity in Nigeria has gone beyond what guns and arrest can solve. The only way to deal with insecurity is through dialogue. So rather than call for Simon Ekpa to be arrested, only for someone even more crazy than him to step in and take over, we should asking the political leaders of Nigeria to engage with Ekpa.

His arrest will not help matters, and is only likely to make matters worse.
