Please can someone assist. my Wife got a conditional offer from Napier Edinburgh. We ve submitted all the requested documents since two weeks ago. But no decision has yet be made. My question is can we go ahead and make payment for the initial deposits. Or should we still hold on for unconditional offer.
mdeeokoye: Been a while, so from my experience so far. Having previous tech experience puts you in a commanding position for interviews and co and also an opportunity to show what you can do. Recently I have had a good number of friends come in from Naija from the company I work, they have seen that Nigerian devs are really good and our tech eco system is doing really well but you have to know your stuff. I see Nigeria becoming the new India in terms of tech in no distant time so if you have good experience you will get in easily here or if you get in here with a dependant visa you can actually get that sponsorship job really fast. Blending in might take a while depending on how fast you can but the base work is the same, same coding and all but a bit more organised here and they take their time here a lot. For those that have no experience, I would advise you do lots of practise, if you have friends that are developers in Naija, link up with them, get side Gigs even if it’s for free, do it get the experience package it very well on your Cv, even if after school you do not get a sponsored job after school start with any dev job you see, get the experience and then chase the sponsorship jobs, recruiters here are very keen about having Uk experience as well because they have that feeling you have had some form of validation to an extent. I have found out that not so many firms sponsor yeah, the ones that do not sponsor do very interesting stuffs and also use some amazing tech stack. Does not matter which language you do, there are lots of openings for different stack just know one very well and you would be fine. I’m my opinion in tech they need you more that you need them always bear that in mind and have that mind set in your interview, it worked for me ! Lastly getting the job is kinda the easy part, keeping the job is kinda more difficult cos you have to be on top of your game and also have to go the extra mile!
This is helpful. For me, am looking at completely switching to tech. But the challenge is that I have no experience or even have knowledge in it. Though studied Engineering but not IT related. I have been in the banking industry for years, marketing precisely. Now am willing to learn and hope to switch my career to tech. Is it possible for me to learn and be grounded in the tech field.

Femtopford: I truly appreciate your concern. but you know what, I hate those people condemning Ford to my marrow. AM VERY SORRY TO USE THAT WORD " hate", that's the best way I could present it. These same people neither own Ford nor used one yet they spread wrong rumors. Let's talk about your two concerns. EXPENSIVE PARTS and TROUBLE SOME VEHICLE.
EXPENSIVE PARTS: People say expensive parts right, let me prove them wrong here and now. transmission (gear) and PCM (brain box) are common parts that car owners are always concern about. The current price in market now of 2009 Ford edge transmission complete assembly is 70k while PCM is 35k. Lsdipo market is open to everyone, go there and confirm what I said, then see who's saying the truth about expensive or not expensive parts. Please! can anyone tell me which other Vehicle makes of same 2009 year model like that of edge are their transmission and PCM so cheap like that. Most of the time I get mad at all these their wrong rumors, am getting really tired of it. They continue lying, lying upon lying, I continue correcting, correcting and correcting, it's really frustrating.
TROUBLE SOME VEHICLE: Generally, how many Ford edge do break down on the roads or being towed along the roads compared to other vehicle makes except if it's accidented ones. In my workshop Ford edge takes 80% of my customers while other brands of Ford take 20%. My workshop is a small one of approximation 200 Ford edge costumers. Among these 200 Ford edge for the past 10 years, I had only replaced two engines and one transmission and these were new customers that came to our workshop, the permanent costumers that abide by service specifications haven't replaced any of their Engines or transmission. The PCM either consistent or new customers none of their PCM haven't been replaced for the past 10 years. So frequent problems of PCM (brain box or ECU), which other vehicle makes can be compared with the reliability of Ford edge brain box. To hell with this their wrong rumors of trouble some car. Let leave car owners aside, any mechanic or motor vehicle technician that joined in saying that Ford is a trouble some car is definitely a NULL SKULL, I say it boldly, it's better you take your car away from his shop before he input virus into the Vehicle electronic system.
Now, let's assume that we can't use my analysis as criteria because am a Ford ambassador, at least we can here the real truth from the real Ford owners in the group, their experience as they have used forf at first hand rather than the those liers out there.
Thank you so much, Mr Femi. Will go ahead make the payment for my ford edge. Pls dont for get to add me the group as I reside here in ikeja. I will still need your assistance on the dos and donts when the ford edge arrives. Thank you Sir
Hello Mr femi, i intend to acquire a 2009 ford edge. I made enquires about the car. But the feedback i got was really discouraging. They said the maintenance cost is high, that the parts are very expensive and it does not have a second hand value. Also heard things like * is trouble some car dont buy it, go for Camry product* However i love the beauty and body of the car. I really need you candid advice before i proceed. How is the car, is truly expensive to maintain for Average income earner like me. Hows the durablity, fuel economy. Pls was your take on it Thank you.
KenModi: And they would go give ‘testimonies’ in church without also telling how they went through several procedures at the hospital to have the child(ren). We Africans keep deceiving and telling lies to ourselves under the guise of religion.
God still gave the scientists that knowledge. So All glory and praises belong to him. Still a miracle.
You don't need the Govt permission, Just approach them and indicate intrest. But these your suit is a distraction, some people have focused there attention to it rather than listening to the word of God. That is part of what we are kicking against, some of this so called men of God are here to show off. May God help us.
Ashleyeniwin: COVID-19: AKEREDOLU PRESENTS NOSE MASKS TO ONDO MARKET WOMEN
In furtherance of his efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in Ondo State, the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi,SAN, has presented nose masks for the use of market women in the state.
This is in line with the Southwest Governors’ resolve to mandate the use of nose masks for everyone coming out of their homes, effective from Friday 24th April, 2020.
The bundles of locally produced nose masks were received from the Governor by the Iyaloja General of the state, Chief Mrs. Iwalola Adefemiwa and other market women, at the Government House, Alagbaka, Akure on Monday, April 20, 2020.
While presenting the masks, Governor Akeredolu said wearing of a nose mask is very important for the personal protection of the market women who would trade with various shades of people across the state.
He urged the market women to also mandate their customers to also wear nose mask before engaging in any trading with them, adding that there will be more nose masks to distribute soon.
The Iyaloja General, Chief Adefemiwa, appreciated the Governor for always prioritizing the interest of the market women in the State.
She said the market women will adhere strictly to the directive as they get their nose masks.
this initiative is highly commendable. I think is the way forward. I foresee them relaxing the lockdown and enforcing everyone to wear there face masks.
it is commendable albeit, I still have my reservations. Let this disbursement get to beneficiaries. We have over 100million Nigerians that are still handicapped. These people depends on their daily incomes. They are the one's this palliatives are meant for. My problems is, will this our dubious and corrupt leaders channel this funds to their appropriate use, without diverting the materials to their own selfish benefits.
