I really happy with this "Federal Government will not be raising tax rates at this time, based on the Finance Act 2019, it is already empowered to widen the tax net, including by collecting taxes on the Nigerian income of global tech giants |
All what I see from this agitation is that we should focus on a man who is competent and who has been working tirelessly to revive the correct situation of our dear country, someone who's capable and ready to work effectively is OSINBAJO |
Politics of 2023 presidential election appears unpredictable as many political gladiators on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) are already jostling to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari. Political power is understandably expected to shift to the southern Nigeria after President Buhari must have completed his two terms of office. This calculation is based on the unwritten agreement of rotational presidency between the North and the South. Undoubtedly, the leading and most popular of all the gladiators that are aspiring to occupy the number one seat of Nigeria on the platform of APC is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Aside being the National Leader of the ruling party, the former Governor of Lagos State was highly instrument in the formation of APC and eventual capturing of power from the PDP led government in year 2015. Realistically, BAT has the goodwill, widespread acceptance, political structure and financial wherewithal to clinch the presidential ticket of APC and still go ahead to win the presidential election. Inasmuch as these permutations look strongly favourable for Bola Tinubu, it should also be noted that some forces within the APC are already plotting to stop his emergence as the party’s candidate. It has even been argued in some questers that Asiwaju has since transmuted to a kingmaker; and it is a general belief that kingmakers are never known to have become kings. In spite of cold political calculations that may not not be to the advantage of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, one thing that cannot be taken away from the highly cerebral and smooth operating politician is the fact that he is always a step ahead of his detractors. While his detractors appear fixated on working against his next political ambition, the Jagarban Borgu is also expected not to have gone to bed without giving serious thoughts to all possible options available to him. Without doubt, one quality option that is available to Asiwaju Tinubu and indeed the APC in 2023 is the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo. The intellectual and legal genius may not be politically savvy like other gladiators, however, his competence has readily make up for whatever he may perhaps be lacking as a career politician. He has evidently demonstrated capacity to competently administer the affairs on Nigerian nation on several occasions. Osinbajo had on severally seized the opportunity of the president’s medical visit to the United Kingdom to proved his competence and leadership acumen to all Nigerians. Osinbajo has left no one in doubt of his ability to skillfully and expertly manage the nation’s affairs whenever his boss travels abroad for medical check up. The fact that the Vice president is eminently qualified and highly experienced to succeed his boss should not be argued. As a lawyer, Osinbajo became a Senior Advocate of Nigeria at a fairly young age. He had later served for eight years as Lagos State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General. He has also been in the saddle as Nigerian Vice president since year 2015. It will be recalled that Osinbajo had properly pilot Nigerian economy, strengthened the Naira and ensure security across the country in his capacity as Acting President while President was abroad for medical treatment. It should also be noted that Osinbajo demonstrated his firmness and capacity to the admiration of most Nigerians. One instance of this was when the Vice president promptly sacked Lawal Daura as the boss of Department of State Security (DSS) in August, 2018. Unknown to many people, Prof Yemi Osinbajo actually anchored the international conferences that led to the creation of strategic institutions such as the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Road Safety Commission and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). More so, the twin qualities of integrity and loyalty that have since become very rare amongst Nigerian politicians are what Osinbajo is truly known to have in abundance. He has evidently shown genuine loyalty to his boss, even when President Buhari was critically sick and flown to the UK. All the the while, Osinbajo never contemplated any act of disloyalty. He has also resolutely committed himself to the cause of Nigeria and her dreams. He has established himself as a political soul-mate and a dependable ally of his boss, President Muhammadu Buhuri. The Vice President is also a model of integrity as he has for more than forty years maintained exceptionally clean lifestyle and conducts. Another outstanding quality of Prof Osinbajo is his deep sense of patriotism and commitment to excellence and hard work. In addition, the alumnus of London School of Economics is a detribalized leader who also sees himself first as Nigerian and never known to have manifested tribal or religious sentiment. He is a strategic leader that knows what to do, when to do same and how to get it done. Despite being a pastor, he has continually promote religious tolerance and harmony in the country. He is also imbued with genuine fear of God, which is responsible for his trademark humility, loyalty and patience. Osinbajo is also a lover of peace and firm believer in one strong and indivisible Nigerian nation. He is undoubtedly an egg head and a great strategist which are great attributes that great leaders should posses. Another reason that also makes Osinbajo a credible option for the APC presidential ticket is the fact of his unblemished records in both private and public sectors. This fact will also make it a lot easy to market him across all ethnic divides in the country. More so, the Vice president is comparably young and he is loved by most Nigerians. As things stand today, Nigerian youths, professionals, civil servants, artisans and peasants will prefer to have Osinbajo as their next president because of his close interactions with them. While others gladiators are busy scheming to grab the presidential ticket of APC, Nigerian Vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has always count on the same grace of God that sought out David amongst his brethren and eventually made him a king. The 64 years old lawyer and pastor is divinely positioned to be the joker of APC in 2023. He is clearly positioned not only to help the party retain power, but to also unite all factions and restore lasting peace and discipline to the ruling party.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday, joined other Nigerians at Gbagada General Hospital to launch a mobile facility, Modular Healthcare Facility (MHF) created by Alpha Mead Healthcare Management Services. Osinbajo, who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, said the new medical facility, which is the first in Africa, would support the government’s effort towards transforming medical diagnostics in the country. In her keynote address, she said: “Alpha Mead Healthcare Management Services Ltd and its global healthcare facilities have the potential to reduce barriers to healthcare access in Nigeria.” The Modular Healthcare Facility is a customised hospital, which is mobility-enhanced, prefabricated with detachable modules equipped with state-of-the-art clinical and diagnostic equipment that can attend to over 1,000 people with health issues remotely. Some of the components of the MHF are Digital X-ray, Computerised Tomography (CT) scan, laboratory, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), reception and administrative section with digital communication tools to help patients communicate with medical experts connected worldwide who would attend to patients, interpret lab results and prescribe drugs virtually, thereby solving the problem of distance and competence. Group Chairman, Alpha Mead Group, Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu, revealed that the medical facility was created against the backdrop of 2019 data from the Nigeria Health Facility Register (NHFR), showing that the country has 40,345 registered hospitals and clinics to serve its 201 million-strong population. He said this implies that one healthcare facility is responsible for an estimated 5,000 Nigerians. “The whole idea of the MHF is to aggressively drive the penetration of healthcare facilities in Nigeria by reducing the construction timeline of a healthcare facility to less than 30 days — saving the time lost in design, construction, equipment installation and addressing the issue of inadequate medical practitioners, particularly doctors in the rural areas or crisis zones, by leveraging technology to connect patients with medical doctors anywhere through its telemedicine facilities.”

Truly I believe Buhari/Osinbajo means well for Nigerians and by appointing Osinbajo as the chairman the poverty level will reduce drastically to a minimal level |
The National Steering Committee (NSC) of the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS) has been inaugurated with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as chairman. The committee is charged with the task of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years through a well-researched framework of implementation and funding. President Muhammadu Buhari performed the event yesterday in Abuja with Secretary to Government of the Federation and others as members. THIS came as Osinbajo insisted that his principal was committed to Nigeria attaining greater height in comity of nations. Addressing the launch of a book entitled, “The Buhari in us”, written by Abdullahi Haruna in Abuja, he maintained that those opposed to the President’s leadership style do not mean well for the country. |

This is good and a time for Nigerian youths to be relevant in politics, the era of using an old man of 80 to be local government chairman has gone, youths want to be relevant as well |
The President, Muhammadu Buhari, and Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN have assured youths that the outcomes of the first ever Progressives Youth Conference organised by the APC Youths which held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja will be implemented. The conference which identified that the APC stands the opportunity to mainstream well over 10,000 youths in politics and government by fixing the age of Councillorship candidates to 30 years and below, the age of chairmanship candidates of local government to 40 years and below, mandated the appointment of at least one youth representative of not more than 40 years at the Board and Management Team of all MDAs in both the Federal and State Governments. In the same vein, ensure that with the exception of the position of Chairman and the deputies, persons of not more than 40 years should deputize every other party position at all levels; national, state, local government, and ward. This according to the communique, which was signed by The Youth Representative in the All Progressives Congress (APC), National Caretaker Committee, Ismail Ahmed as part of the resolutions reached at the conference will create the largest political empowerment impact ever in Nigeria This it is believed shall be a legacy for President Muhammadu Buhari and shall strengthen the mandate of the administration that has stood it out, unleashing the boldest socio-economic programmes this country has ever seen, and also arguably the largest in Sub Saharan Africa, having empowered over 1 million youths who are engaged under the NPOWER programme, over 5.5 million school children fed through the Home Grown School Feeding Programme., among others. The conference highlighted that over 3.1 million farmers had been supported through the famous Anchor Borrows Programme to ramp up local food production and preserve forex, while the price of fertilizer crashed from pre-2015 price of N11,000 to N5,500 supporting millions of farmers and reviving dozens of local fertilizer mixing companies. It added that over 400 km of rail infrastructure is being delivered with the Lagos-Ibadan rail service, a failed project that has survived many administrations before the current one, which was commissioned just a few days ago. The conference equally highlighted that by year 2050 which is just 30 years from now, Nigeria’s population is estimated to hit about 500m and that with a ballooning population and that with dwindling revenue at our disposal there is no other option but for the government to deliver mass prosperity and a stable social, economic and political future, which must be beyond 2023, and go beyond selfish interests to a bigger and bolder vision for the children and unborn generations. The conference said that poverty of the mind and of the pocket is ravaging the social fabric of the Nation on all fronts in the area of productivity, values and security. It called for the need for all to rise beyond divisions to deliver functional education for all, affordable healthcare for all, safe and secure homeland and many more progressive solutions through this bold progressive and political platform, the APC. The conference, which showcased the capacity of the youth to take on leadership roles in the party and the government, was attended by delegates from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. There were goodwill messages from notable party leaders and government officials, among whom are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni; Representatives of Progressives Governors, Ministers of Youths and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, Ministers of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; Minister of Housing and Work Babatunde Raji Fashola and several other leaders of the APC.

The plan of federal government to convert 1000 vehicles such that they will be running on gas shows government’s determination for gas expansion implementation project is a huge project |
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday flagged off a two-day national Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) sensitisation and awareness campaign to be held across 12 states of the federation. The programme which held at the Sheraton Hotel Abuja, with the theme: ‘Stimulating National Socioeconomic Growth Through LPG Adoption and Expansion’ aims at showcasing LPG as an important element for clean cooking fuels and technologies. The states where the campaigns are billed to be held cut across the six geo-political zones of the federation, including Sokoto and Katsina in North West, Bauchi and Gombe in North East, Enugu and Ebonyi in Southeast, Delta and Bayelsa in South South, Lagos and Ogun in South West, and FCT and Niger in North Central. This is even as it was revealed that almost 900,000 people are affected every year by the effects of dirty fuels like firewood and charcoal. Represented at the occasion by Mr. Dayo Adeshina, Programme Manager, National LPG Expansion Implementation Plan (NLEIP), emphasized the need for all stakeholders to work together to ensure seamless implementation of federal government’s programme initiated to promote the use of LPG in the country. He noted that greenhouse gas emissions have affected the entire planet including Nigeria, stressing that concerted effort must be made to reduce the effects in the country. “Greenhouse gas emissions have affected the entire planet and Nigeria is not exception. You can see from the way has changed significantly, the intensity of the rains and the storms are much higher, the heat from dry season is quite intense. So it is critical that we all join hands together to ensure that various programmes that the Federal Government has put together are implementated. He reiterated federal government”s commitment to some of the programmes including the decade of gas and net zero by 2030. According to him, federal government’s plan to convert 1000 vehicles such that they will be running on gas shows government’s determination for gas expansion implementation project. Earlier, Adeshina, while speaking in his personal capacity as the NLEIP Programme Manager, said Nigeria has monumental problems with desertification, deforestation and climate change. He said the event aims to outline the importance of LPG for the government, for Petroleum industry and for the people. Every year almost 900,000 people are affected by the effects of dirty fuels like firewood and charcoal. That figure is more than the total number of people that suffer from malaria and tuberculosis together. “So the government’s plan is to displace the energy mix for cooking which currently stands at firewood 60%, kerosene 30%, LPG 5% and charcoal 5%. “The Government’s ambition is to revised that and change that 5% for LPG to 90% in 10 years”. This, he said will be achieved through applying what he called 4As (Accessibility, Acceptability, Affordability, and Availability). According to him, some of the policy directives embedded in the National Gas Policy passed in 2017 outlined various incentives to be given to the LPG industry as the government would act as an enabler.

The N-Power Scheme is one of the initiatives by President Muhammadu Buhari's administration which is target at solving the major problem of the youths of the nation. Over 500,000 Nigerian youths have benefitted from the scheme as they have been engaged in different aspects of the scheme like N-Build, N-Tech, N-Teach, etc. The scheme was first managed by the office of Vice President before it was transferred to the office of the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and disaster management headed by Honourable Sadiya Umar Farouk. Below are reasons why I think Vice President Yemi Osibanjo Better managed the N-POWER scheme: 1. Free and Fair Selection Process: During the selection process of the batch A and B beneficiaries, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo ensured that the selection process was free and fair to all applicants. This singular act had put smiles and given hope to the youths of the Nation as many had believed that you must have someone somewhere before you could be considered for any Federal Government job opportunity. 2. Prompt Payment of Stipend: Vice President Yemi Osibanjo deserved credits for this as he ensured that the stipends of the beneficiaries were paid on time and as at when due. Recall that after the scheme was moved to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, the Exited beneficiaries were not being paid their monthly stipends for some months. 3. Extended Time of Engagement: The N-Power Scheme's blueprint had a two-year engagement period but Vice President Osinbajo ensured that the Batch A volunteers enjoyed another one years of engagement. But once the scheme was moved to the care of Honorable Sadiya, she immediately advocated that the batch A and B beneficiaries be exited from the program. These are reasons why I believe that the scheme should be returned to the office of the Vice President so that it could achieve its purpose of creation
