@okolodaniel,

You were not required to submit financial statement. Deakin University is an AL1 assessment. But stay calm most likely they will overlook the statement submitted and concentrate on the required documents you submitted.

As in, I’m just hoping like you say they’ll just overlook the financial part as my GTE and other documents were very well planned. I’ll update tthe house once I hear back from them on the application.

I understand all you have said. Usually, immigration read huge sum of money in an account as money lodgement.
Like I earlier said you may want to summit the 32m fixed deposit statement with a letter attached to it stating how and why the money got there.

If she has received some interest on the maturity of that FD in the past, it will be nice to attach it as well. Australia doesn't ready have one on one interview, your documents speak for you. Also make sure you certify that 32m FD before attaching it.

Thanks so much for this, I really appreciate. This is the second year of the FD so she has had interest payments on the maturity in the past.

Ya you have submitted the bank statement to start with. Well these immigration guys look at the inflow and out flow of cash in your bank statement and if there has been any money lodgement within the last 6 months and how often they occurred.

If the remaining balance was 12m and your sponsor had 13m means they will be left with 1m. Does your sponsor have a family she is looking after or rather dependent on her? How is the flow of money in and out of her account?

I strongly suggest you print, certify and upload the statement of her 32m business fixed deposit and write a short note explaining how the money came about.

Thanks a lot for the quick response.

My sister is married with one kid, and as for the account she sent me, there was very little activity on the account over the 3-month period which was what we used for the application. Is there any way I can attach the actual statement and fixed deposit slip in a pm to you so you have a look? I would really appreciate that.

And thanks, I will go ahead and attach the fixed deposit statement on Monday to the application along with the short note.

Hello house,

Wishing you all the best with your applications!

I submitted my student visa application on the 23rd of May and front-loaded my sponsor's SOA with a balance of about 13.37m naira, I have also paid the required deposit of 8150AUD to Deakin for the CoE with my full tuition for one year being 32600 AUD. When I did all of my calculations, the amount that is needed in my sponsor's account was just under 12m naira. However, I am worried if the 13.37m will be enough considering I saw a case on this thread of someone getting denied because of the funds for the subsequent year of studies.

My sponsor in question has her company (she is the majority shareholder and sole signatory) fixed deposit account with about 32m naira. The fixed deposit has a maturity date of 19th of December 2019. I am now thinking that it might be worth attaching the fixed deposit slip and a letter showing she is the sole signatory to the account to the application on Monday. What do you guys think?

Thanks a lot for helping me with this, you know the usual paranoia during the wait lol it is getting to me!

boko_halal: To Master JustWise, DonXavier, Dharkchild, Kunlewoye, FutureDon, Charles E and other screen names I can't recall, I'm short of words to say thank you o. I have never experienced the kind of peace I enjoyed on this thread on NL.

My visa was ready in 13 working days. When I got to VFS to collect it, my anxiety was so palpable, I even sat down and tried opening the document-containing envelope right there but was directed to look at a notice above that warned not to. I got outside and opened it, there it was--my visa!

I have booked my British Airways flight for Sunday 16th Sept.

Thank you all cheesy

Hey...I'm leaving on the 16th BA too!

How about we catch up at the airport?

My e-mail is okolodaniel@ymail.com

You can send your phone number there.

Atlantis85: *sigh* 12 days more and I've been mentally going over what I submitted to be sure I did all I was supposed to do. Here's all I submitted:

1. Print-out of mail showing CAS number/unconditionl offer letter
2. Documents stated in CAS: Degree cert and ielts trf
3. 7200 in personal bank statement: had lil less than 7200 before 1st august but got total 7200 on 1st and I printed out on 3rd( stamp date was 3rd sept), tho last transaction registered 29th august. Main depositors were my mum and dad but my aunt (diff surname) paid in 400k (after I alrdy had my balance)
4. Mail correspondence between me and the school asking for extension.
5. Oanda conversion print-out for 3rd sept
6. I had paid full school fees and it was stated in cas.

Did I miss anything out pls?

You missed absolutely nothing! Expect your visa soon!

Donxavier: So I got into the UK today hassle free. I have heard countless stories of how scrutiny at Heathrow is really tight and all that. I was pretty surprised when the border officer just asked for my passport, asked if I was a first time student, gave me a first time student form to fill and stamped me in.As simple as that. Even my cousin that came for me was pretty surprised that I was done pretty quickly. No questions were asked me, he didn't even ask for my admission letter or CAS statement.

I love the UK I must say and that's how Nigeria should be hadn't it been that we are cursed with bad leadership. Anyway, will spend the next few days adjusting and shopping before I find my way to Aberdeen by weekend.

For the contract blackberry I intend to get, Can I use my cousin's address or must I use my own address when I secure my accommodation? Will I have to prove that I live there...someone please help me out? what are the requirements for getting a contract phone?

Cheers.

Thank God for journey mercies o!

What address did u fill as your contact address on your landing card as you've not booked an accommodation yet?

Did u put your cousin's address?

Regards.

@justwise, good Morning!

Just got my visa this morning.

Was wondering if I'd need another bank statement printed since they didn't return the one I used in my application. Will they ask for this when I arrive the UK? How does it work?

Thanks for your help.

Good evening everyone.
My status is showing processed application in transit.
I paid for the courier service, was wondering if this meant my documents are with UPS or they are on the way to the VAC.
Anyone with an idea?

justwise:

Even if you did not attach the passport you will still be ok, because you were 12 yrs of age at that time, you can't be hold responsible for the refusal but you did the right thing by giving the little info you have about it.

Thanks very much for the advice. I'll let you know when I get a response from the embassy. I submitted on the 16th of august in abuja.

@justwise what a prompt response. I really appreciate. Also I attached the passport with which I was refused back in 2005 with the rejection stamp.
Thanks very much for your time.

Good Morning house. I just stumbled on this thread after submitting my visa application. It is absolutely fantastic the amount of info on here.
Well, my question is this:
My mummy made a visa application in 2005 and included me as her accompanying child- I was 12 years old at the time. We were refused the visa. In all honesty I didn't even know she made such an application till I was filling my form this year.
In question 6.3 of the form asking if I had been refused, I answered as follow:
Date: 25/10/2005.
Country: UK
Reason: don't know
Reference number: 243415.
I must add that my mum has gotten a uk visa 3 times after that refusal in 08,10, and 2012. But she doesn't have the refusal notice again and she cannot remember the exact reasons for the refusal.
Please do u think that I will be refused a visa because of not putting the refusal reason?
