Business / We Are Adjusting Our Troops Deployment To End Agatu And Fulani Fight-army by okpiewon(m): 12:02am On Mar 20, 2016
Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, the chief of army staff, has stated that the army will deploy troops as part of measures to end the killings in Agatu communities in Benue state. Vanguard reports that Buratai said this during his visit to a military tactical operational base, near Otukpo in Benue. He noted that all logistics and other requirements have been provided for the operation. “The crisis here is unfortunate, the farmers and herdsmen fighting must not be condoned. I have heard from the commander about the existence of criminal elements who engage in cattle rustling. “We have observed the deployment of troops on ground, we are adjusting our troops deployment to take care of the flashpoints and likely areas where the criminals are hiding,’’ he said.

Business / 5 Reason To Prove That Your Success Depend On Your Clear Vision by okpiewon(m): 6:42am On Mar 16, 2016
There are many people out there who’ll want to be with your business because they share a similar vision for themselves. Maybe they’ll see you as a vehicle for how they’ll achieve their own goals. Maybe they don’t want to run a company, but they want to be part of one that aspires to be a world leader, socially responsible, an innovator, or any of the many things you might envision for your company.

One of the biggest benefits of a business plan is to help acquire outside funding from lenders or investors, but in itself, a business plan might not sell your business on a personal level. Your vision tells investors and competitors what you’re about. It tells the world what you want to achieve and on what scale. It can be inspiring and grand, or focused and efficient, but the vision has to be yours.
1. Be Realistic
A word of caution. When you create a vision for yourself, be sure it’s something you can actually become. For example, when you set your vision for your life as an adult, you didn’t say, “I want to grow up to be a polar bear.” Well, maybe you did, and if you were five years old when you said it, some people might have told you you could be one. But if you’re old enough to be reading this, you’re old enough to know you can’t become a polar bear.
If your business is in pouring concrete, it might be a little ridiculous for you to say your goal is to build battleships, or break into the fashion industry. You may have a personal ambition to do those things, but that shouldn’t be the vision statement for your business if that’s not what your business is.
Think about it, why would a potential employee bring their concrete-industry skills to your company if your vision was to depart from that industry altogether?

2. People Need a Purpose
Every human being wants to make a difference. It’s in our nature. So if you want total commitment and total “buy in” from your employees, cast a vision that includes helping other people, or incorporates making a difference or leaving a mark.

Jobs/Vacancies / 6 Steps (before Quitting Your Day Job) To Build Future Consulting Career by okpiewon(m): 6:10am On Mar 16, 2016
The sales cycle for consulting can be long, so it is easiest if you start planning for your consulting career while you are still working. That means extra work on evenings and weekends for planning, marketing, and developing your profile

—not necessarily starting consulting assignments. If you do start doing consulting work while you are still employed, make sure you are not breaking any rules or obligations with your current employer.
All the following things are easily done while you are still working and will help to kick-start your consulting career.

1. Decide on your niche
Before you even start consulting, you need to decide on your specialty and understand the market. There is no sense consulting in an area where you can’t make a living.
If you are a one-person consulting company, you shouldn’t and probably can’t do everything. So what areas do you have both an interest and background in to begin consulting? It may only be one aspect of what you do in your day job. Since credibility is important in consulting, it must be something you can justify and support based on your past work experience. If you can’t show expertise and experience in your consulting niche, you won’t be able to sell your services to others.
When deciding on your niche, research the competition, talk to potential customers, and get an idea about what you are up against and whether you can compete and get your share of the business. This is basically market research and is an essential first step.

Business / How To Overcome 5 Business Obstacle That Usually Hold Us Back by okpiewon(m): 11:00pm On Mar 14, 2016
Check out the five business obstacle that holds us back from startin our own carrier.
If you’ve been struggling to get your company off the ground, then it’s likely one of the following obstacles is preventing you from moving forward:
1. Fear of the Unknown
There’s something really scary about launching a startup. (Okay, there are a lot of scary things about building a company.) But at the root of each anxiety is a fear of the unknown. What will happen if you start a business? How will you react when a particular situation unfolds? Where will you be in three, five, or ten years? Will you end up rich or broke?
The fear of the unknown is enough to cripple even the most talented and ambitious entrepreneur. And in order to overcome this, you must adopt the right frame of mind. It may sound cliché, but you literally need to take things one day at a time.
For many entrepreneurs, it helps to keep a calendar. On this calendar, write down simple daily objectives, weekly objectives, and annual objectives. By breaking things down into digestible bites, you gain control over things that might otherwise seem impossible.

Science/Technology / CBN Commend FG For Their Stand Not To Devaluate Naira by okpiewon(m): 3:55pm On Mar 06, 2016
Some capital market operators have commended the Federal Government for resisting the pressure to devalue the official rate of the naira.
They told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that rather than devalue the naira, government should address the wide margin of the exchange rate in the official and black market.
NAN reports that the market operators made the suggestion against the backdrop of recent calls for devaluation of the naira.

While the official naira exchange rate has remained stable at N197.50 to the dollar at the CBN, it once depreciated to as low as N390 to the dollar at the black market.
It is currently within the band of N320 and N330 to the dollar at the black market.
