Well, it's the Yorubas that are aiding and abetting their excesses on Yoruba soil that I blame, not them. The thing is, they're the only settlers that give Yorubas problem in Lagos, the only ones. Awolowo ran with an igbo Christian in 1979 and nobody said kpim against it. Zik also picked a Christian vice. The Muslim North didn't make an issue of it. In that close election of '79, Awolowo got 4.9-million votes as against Shagari's 5.6-million. In 1983, Awolowo picked a Muslim vice candidate and the margin between he and Shagari was 4-milion+. Anyone against Muslim-muslim ticket is free to vote against it. Enough of the noise.

Awolowo and Azikiwe already set the precedents for same-faith Christian-Christian tickets and nobody made a fuss about it. Those making noise are doing so because they know this Tinubu-Shetima combo is the ticket to beat, else all their ariwo doesn't even make sense, when it's not as if there aren't other alternative parties/candidates to pick from.

I've come to the conclusion that if Tinubu could survive the OBJ years and EndSars Tsunamis (the original intent of endsars agitation was hijacked by his political detractors and Ipob sympathizers who manipulated the youths to turn Tinubu into the focus of their angst), he can survive anything. Akuko. Maybe you mean the Simon Ekpa faction, which has since lost its relevance due to Peter Obi's emergence as a contender in the upcoming presidential elections. The overwhelming majority of ipob supporters have dumped the Biafra struggle (at least for the time being) to join Peter Obi's campaign train. Only a dishonest observer would deny that glaring fact and trend. I just hope for their sake that PO wins else it'll be back to their 'Biafra of Death' and 'zoo must fall' ways.

So how should that concern you. There are other candidates in various parties, contesting for presidency who wouldn't even get up to 5k votes, yet they're still in the race. So why bother yourself with Peter Obi, if he's irrelevant and looses life goes on.

In the meantime, it's he's right to contest as a Nigerian, so save yourself the stress and focus on campaigning for your candidate.

Peter Obi would only end up splitting PDP votes in Alaigbo, but I still think that on the eve of the elections more than half of the Igbo electorate would switch to Atiku after facing the reality of Obi not being electable. Ekweremadu already hinted us of that eventuality. Obi himself might even step down for Atiku. But even more importantly, ipob would frustrate electioneering activities, thereby having a negative effect on voter turnout in the region.

I also know of three mad-men that Peter Obi regularly consults with. Either of them would make a good VP to Mazi Peter Obi.
