seguno2:Listen fooool. Lagos does not need your validation coz you are a nonentity. You can continue praising your Anambra state while running down Lagos from now till tomorrow sef. But folks like myself will always be on ground to bust and expose your hypocrisy. Best believe that. |
seguno2:See your life? You can't even refute me with a straight face. I will continue exposing you as the Yoruba-wannabe impostor that you are, keep exposing your hypocrisy, and giving you nightmares for as long as you continue using that misleading moniker. Your hypocritical behind never finds fault with your shythole Anambra state, yet you are always running amock on Lagos threads yapping your stinking mouth. I get your size and will continue to expose you. Evidence brekete below: seguno2: seguno2:
Is UI not in Afonja land? What of Yabatech? Is it in Igbo land? Why did your genius brother not accept the Anambra state university in Igbo land instead of coming to Yabatech? Please ask whoever borrowed your brain to return it.
seguno2: seguno2: |
seguno2:Your punk a$s has been busted long before now. So you ain't fooling no one but yoself. ![]() |
seguno2:How come you never ever criticize Obiano your state governor but you are always on Lagos threads trying to run down the state and its leadership? Abi dem shekpe for you in? Go and tackle Anambra misgovernanance and leave Lagos the fvck alone you shameless lout. |
seguno2:You no dey shame/tire Leave Lagos and go face your Anambra!! You can whine from today till tomorrow but that won't stop Lagosians from reelecting Ambode. |
seguno2:Come sef, What is this your obsession with Yorubaland and it's leadership? You never criticize your igbo leaders/governors and their abysmal performance. Or you think we don't know you are igbo/Anambrarian? |
Jowonloju:See, if there can be 24hrs uninterrupted electricity in Lagos, most won't even mind paying for it coz they are already paying way more than whatever the price that would be charged for it via generator fueling costs amongst others (not to mention pollution). If you want good infrastructure like the standard other progressive countries enjoy, you must be willing to pay for it. It's that simple. |
I don't understand what the fuss is all about IBB supposed statement, considering that he has never really supported Buhari owing to their rivalry that dates back many decades. They should just restructure this country for the sake of peace and sanity. That is the only thing that will bring peace. |
Efewestern:Yinmu. Ambode was just being a typical humble/diplomatic Yoruba visitor in igboland, nothing more. You and I know that Jimi Agbaje was the preferred candidate of ibos in 2015, and that igbos didn't contribute anything tangible to his election, even in spite of all the federal might intimidation by PDP, yet he won without their support. How much more now that APC is more grounded than ever in Lagos? The last LG election in the state reinforced that fact sef. So quit reading meaning wey no dey their into his comment. He won without igbos in 2015. He can and will do it again in 2019. |
Ambode go attend Ekwueme burial for SE and in the process e kukuma join his predecessors in plessing their mumu button. Lol. Ride on A+. |
Amosun should quit this habit of disparaging yayi the way he's been doing lately coz it's making him look desperate. As the incumbent, imposing his successor should ordinarily be a cakewalk for him, but the way he's been going about antagonizing Yayi's ambition gives the impression that he's seeing the guy as a real threat or something. He can have his way without this public show of desperation on his part. |
If he truly said that then he ought to be picked up immediately for incitement. |
jamesibor:Go and face FG na. Lagos is generating its IGR via the ingenuity of her administrators, not from Oil money Mr (yeah, I know your life begins and ends with oyel money). And before you scream Lagos ports, the state does not get a dime from the revenues generated from the ports or even it's land borders (which all goes to the FG). |
jamesibor:No be only 'share'. Money wey no even reach na im wan split into 36? You wicked o. |
Ikengawo:The Op is an igboman like you so you have no reason to drag Yorubas into this. |
See the pic below. Our people have been using native intelligence to create solutions and innovations since time immemorial. I recently learned that the popular black soap is a Yoruba invention. And that it was Yoruba female traders that exported the craft and know-how to the Ghanaians.

Stingman:Lol. You are a proper mumu. That person you referred to as a Yoruba that said what you quoted is your fellow ibo kinsman on this forum who uses the 'On.i' moniker to try to deceive people (confam). A thread was recently opened on the matter on this forum and even hit front page, and other forumites from all over Nigerians we're able to chip in their contributions based on experience that the SW (plus and minus Lagos) is unanimously and undisputedly the most developed region in the country. Of course you refugees and almajiris will continue arguing blindly about that obvious fact even while still fleeing your region for the same SW. The thread is still there for you to receive sense: https://www.nairaland.com/4205783/which-most-developed-geo-political-zone |
Op is just a classic hypocrite. Everyone knows that the igbos tribalized the whole issue the moment they started their persecution complex, attributing efcc's handling and response to innocent's thuggish resistance to his tribe ('because he is igbo'), as if he's the first Nigerian that would be invited or detained by the efcc. Look, people don tire of una irritating persecution complex which you lots are fond of using to deflect from your crimes. Are igbos the only ones in Nigeria? Na so Ohanaeze chairman too talk say fuel scarcity was deliberately targeted at igbos, like y'all are suffering from collective mental illness or something. |
MayorofLagos:LMAO! Ipobs no even sabi tell a good lie. Afi 'Grantee' trust Bank. ![]() https://memegenerator.net/img/instances/500x/62604812/laughing-my-ass-off.jpg |
BabaRamota1980:That fool pulls his phantom 'statistics' out of his anus. You would have to be willing to stick your fingers into his rectum to access those 'statistics' he's referring to. |
konoplyanka:Ignore those fools. Before it was 'over 50%' of Lagos population that was igbo. Now it is '40%' of the SW. . Delusion runs in their bloodstream. It must be the water they drink in those parts. |
patrick89:Guy, that's your own fvcking headache. Go argue that with the hotel ratings coy, since you claim to know better than them. |
Sprumbabafather:Liar, liar, pants on fire. Abeg, based on what proof or evidence? In terms of Hotels, Yorubas beat una hands down. Do a search on all the Hotel listing directories (Hotels.ng, travel.jumia.com) per state and compare the number of Hotels in Yorubaland and Igboland. According to a Jovago (now Jumia travels) survey, the following cities have the largest number of 5-star hotels in Nigeria: https://www.okay.ng/list-of-nigerian-states-with-the-highest-number-of-5-star-hotels/ 1. Lagos – 22 (1164 hotels in total) 2. Abuja – 6 (370 hotels in total) 3. Port Harcourt – 5 (226 hotels in total) 4. Ibadan – 2 (281 hotels in total) 5. Calabar – 1 (177 hotels in total) No single 5-star hotel in the entire SE! A quick search on Hotels.ng and Jumia travels show that Ibadan is third city with the largest number of hotels in Nigeria, behind Lagos and Abj, even more than PH. On Hotels.ng (Nigeria's largest hotels listing company), 399 hotels are listed under ibadan, while Owerri has just 138 hotel listings (the entire Imo had just 180, Anambra had 242, Enugu 274, Abia 164, Ebonyi 71), while Oyo as a whole had 505, Ogun had 584, Osun 185, Ondo 117, Ekiti 207, as against Abuja's 799 and the entire Rivers had 414 listings. Lagos is king with 2207. This data is consistent with those from other sources. |
They should just restructure this country along regional lines so that the presidency will become less attractive and rancorous. That way the regions will decide for themselves whom amongst them will rule them. Problem solved. |
Dollyak:I don't expect you to really grasp the motivation of the Yorubas contributing to this thread. No, I do not. Like I said in my earlier comment, this thread was created to set the records straight. It started as a response to igbo taunts, but by now it's evident that it has taken on a life of its own, so to speak. Does that mean that everything is 'peaches and cream' with the Yoruba nation? Certainly not. But that isn't limited to the Yorubas alone. Every race on earth is a work-in-progress in one form or another, and will experience its ups and down moments, rise and decline, and what have you. And I guess Yorubas are not an exception in that regard. Entirely separate threads can be opened to discuss other relevant matters that may be confronting us as a people. But this particular thread will continue to grow as more Yorubas break new grounds and make their marks in their chosen field of endeavour, and that could include even you, if you identify as one of us. I believe the ibadan thread was also created to project the city from a more complimentary and Yoruba perspective, as opposed to the many misrepresentations that abound, especially among certain ilk on this same forum. I don't see nothing wrong with that. |
Dollyak:Your confusion is understandable yet grossly misguided miss, considering that you're of Yoruba+Igbo parentage therefore I can see why you'll be feeling conflicted about which side to identify with. But you are dead wrong. Your Igbo brothers actually triggered the creation of this thread, when in their usual chest-beating fashion they opened a thread in which they we're running down Yorubas, claiming to 'dominate' and 'own' everything in Yorubaland, blah blah blah. This thread is for record-setting purposes and it's here to stay. |
Basic123:I remember when Ibadan was dragging the position of dirtiest city in Nigeria with Aba before Ajimobi's tenure. It was that bad. Even one of Ladoja's political thugs, Sunday Adeyemo/Igboho, recently acknowledged and credited his strides in keeping the state secure and more stable security-wise compared to the Akala and Ladoja eras. That enabling environment has enabled the state to attract a lot of private capital as well as SMEs and startups. |
wristbangle:Now you are talking. We need to put things in their proper context. The truth of the matter is that both Ajimobi and Amosun have done relatively better than their predecessors. Even though we can all agree that they could have done better, the fact remains that they have also had the unpleasant circumstance of reengineering the entire administrative apparatus of their states in the face of dwindling oil revenues. The past governments of both states were proligate and wasteful. In Oyo for instance, the past administrations increased the salaries of some civil servants by as much as 300%, and even hired more (largely based on political patronage), without commensurate increase in the state's IGR. All this because they thought oil money will continue to flow endlessly. Bear in mind that the state has one of the largest state civil service in the country (whom constitute less than 5% of the entire state population), yet their salaries gulp more than 80% of the state's monthly allocation. Right now as we speak, the monthly allocations can't even cover their monthly salaries. Please how do you expect a government to still be able to execute capital projects after spending all the money as salaries for less than 5% of the state population? Yet the citizens refuse to pay taxes to help increase igr. But even the igr will still end up being used to pay the same less than 5% civil servant population (that is if the same corrupt civil servants responsible for collecting the igr don't steal the money https://www.ibadaninsider.com/oyo-looses-igr-to-fraudulent-civil-servants/ ). The same thing is applicable to Ogun. Amosun spends most of his Igr on payment of civil servants salaries. Again, these people are less than 5% of the state population, but their salaries are more than the state's allocation. Tell me how he will have enough money left to fix bad roads in spite of the high igr he's celebrated for collecting. Ogun has worse roads than Oyo, is less secure than Oyo, yet the state still attracts more industries. Why?? The Lagos factor. |
otitokoroleti:I defend Ibadan on this forum more than you so you can sit on a nail for all I care. But the truth must be told about the general mentality of the residents of the city when it comes to governance and maintenance culture. Besides, anyone that would glorify or romanticize the likes of Ladoja and Akala whose turbulent tenures were defined by wanton thuggery, insecurity, abysmal waste management, and overall lack of appreciable development in terms of infrastructure, can't mean well for the state. |
joyandfaith:Why would I even bother? I already stated that Ibadans are generally averse to modern development. Left to most of you guys, the entire state would be covered in rusted roofs without you all sparing the thought to paint or maintain those buildings. Is it such people that would appreciate a governor that is intent on giving their state a facelift? I don't reside in Ibadan and definitely do not intend to live there any time soon, but I am on ground enough to know and stay abreast of the happenings in the city and indeed the entire state of Oyo. |
wristbangle:Bro, I am not holding brief for Ajimobi but just stating the facts in relative terms. It would be herculian for any other state to outcompete Ogun state in terms of attracting manufacturing coys right now for obvious reasons. Even Ogun is still relatively underperforming in a lot of ways in spite of its proximity to Lagos, as its government is not doing enough to plan, manage, and guide the spillover effects of the Lagos population into the state, which is causing a lot of slums developing all over the state. Ogun being the next door neighbour to Lagos will naturally attract more attention than Oyo or any other state for that matter in terms of being the preferred location for most industries. It's not necessarily because Amosun performed any special magic compared to his peers. A lot of factors are at play here so let's not get carried away. |
otitokoroleti:You sound like a praise singer for those amala politicians of yore. I listed some of Ajimobi's landmark achievements which absolutely none of his predecessors can match. He's changed the state for the better in terms of development, job-creation, attracting of both local and Foreign direct investment. The last released report on the states that received foreign capital inflows included Oyo as one of the recipient states. Give credit to whom it is due and stop being a whiny and bitter fellow. Be objective for once. As imperfect as his tenure has been, he's still far better than his predecessors. You are just being dishonest in your appraisal of his performance because I know for a fact that you have access to a compendium of his administration's achievements. You are trying too hard with your bad belle posturing. |
