Education / How To Do Jamb Matriculation List At The Comfort Of Your Home by olabiyisi(m): 8:01am On Apr 26, 2021
It is important that you confirm your name from the matriculation list. Only candidates whose names are on this list are recognised as bonafide students from the various accredited institutions.

By implication, if your name is not on this list, your application to the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC scheme for the one-year National service shall be declined.

What Happens if Your Name is not on the List?
If you have been admitted to study in any accredited tertiary institution and your name is not on the list, it simply means that your admission is not valid as it has not been recognized by JAMB.
It means that you won’t be mobilized for NYSC when it is time.
How to Check and add Your Name on the List
Follow the procedure outlined below to check your JAMB matriculation status.

Go to the matriculation list portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/checkmatriculationlist

About Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNNAB

Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, or FUNAAB, (FUNAAB) was established on 1 January 1988 by the Federal Government when four universities of technology, earlier merged in 1984, were demerged. This led to the creation of the first two universities of agriculture in Abeokuta and Makurdi.

On the same date, Professor Nurudeen Olorun-Nimbe Adedipe was appointed the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the university. Professor Adedipe officially assumed duty on 28 January 1988. For many years the date which Professor Adedipe assumed duty was wrongly adopted as the foundation day. Following a revisit to the instrument setting up the university, a council decision at its 53rd statutory meeting in June 2010 reverted the foundation date to 1 January 1988 as prescribed by the law which established the university.

Three Rare University Courses In Nigeria That Can Give One A Multimillionaire Career

Three courses that are very scarce in Nigerian university but they have the potential of giving one a multimillionaire career.

These courses are;

(1) Aeronautics Engineering/Pilot :

Many scholars lacks the information that this course are offered in some Nigerian universities like covenant university, FUTA, university of ilorin, kwara, international aviation school etc . Having a degree in this course means alot to one's career as they are one of the high paying professions

(2) Petro-chemical Engineering:

A degree in this course gives one a chance to work in an Oil company but not many university offer this course in Nigeria. If one can give all it takes to study this course, a millionaire career is very visible. Some universities like Niger delta university, rivers state uni have this course.

(3) Metereology:

Many people have the dreams of studying and forecasting weather. Although it is a rare course yet it can be studied in Nigeria. Federal university of Technology Akure (FUTA) is a nice place to study this career boosting course.

Education / Opinion: Waec Students To Be Allowed To Come Out And Write Their Exams During Th by olabiyisi(m): 10:33pm On May 27, 2020
West African examination council (WAEC) is not only taken in Nigeria, Waec exams is being taken by all West African English speaking countries. West African examination council (WAEC) always holds every year between the months of June/July But due to the coronavirus outbreaks in Africa and entire world beyond that's why Waec exams is likely to be delayed.

we all know that the covid-19 pandemic is still out there spreading with massive cases across Nigeria and West Africa beyond, but at the same time we should also know that the education of our children is important. Waec should set up a date for only their candidates to come out and write their exams.

in addition, if Waec students are being given the privilege to write their exams I don't think that maintaining all the safety measures provided by the Nigeria center for disease control NCDC will be hard for them to maintain.

Opinion

Do you think that it's a wise decision for Waec students to be allowed to come out and write their exams during this covid-19 pandemic period?

Nairaland / General / Makinde Kicks Off Testing Of 2,000 Oyo Residents For COVID-19, Says Outcome Will by olabiyisi(m): 6:47pm On Apr 14, 2020
Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, kicked off a rapid testing initiative for COVID-19 in the State, declaring that the outcome of the exercise would help contain the spread of the virus.

Governor Makinde, who declared opened the COVID-19 Drive-Through/Walk-Through Testing, an initiative that is expected to test 2,000 samples within two weeks, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, said the rapid testing initiative aligned to his administration’s commitment to test at least 10,000 residents within a short time.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted him as saying that the State was scaling up testing in alignment with expert opinions that the best way to contain and control the spread of the novel Coronavirus is by ensuring mass testing.

Governor Makinde appreciated the Citizen for Citizen, a non-governmental organisation headed by the chairman of First Bank Nigeria, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, which provided the 2,000 testing kits and the LifeBank Nigeria, for partnering with the State on rapid testing for COVID-19.

Speaking on behalf of the NGO, Mrs. Temidayo Olatunbosun, said that the guidelines of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) would be strictly followed in conducting the COVID-19 tests in Oyo State.

She also urged residents of Oyo State who have the COVID-19 symptoms to call the emergency operation centre for necessary action.

In his speech, Governor Makinde said: “Experts have opined that the best place to start in solving our peculiar problems is by ramping up our testing capabilities. For this reason, a few weeks ago, the Oyo State Government, in collaboration with the University College Hospital, Ibadan, set up a diagnostic centre to test for COVID-19 right here in Ibadan.

“Indeed, with social distancing through lockdowns proving to be the most effective way of checking community spread, and the fact that people can have COVID-19 and be asymptomatic, large-scale testing will help us determine where and when targeted lockdowns are necessary.”

The governor maintained that his administration had begun to put necessary things in place to ensure its capability to prevent, contain and control the spread of COVID-19 even before the index case was recorded in the state.

He said: “The flag-off that we are witnessing here today is a culmination of weeks of planning and hard work. Even before the index case was recorded in the state, on the 21st of March, we had started putting things in place to ensure that we will be able to prevent, contain, and control the spread of COVID-19 in Oyo State.

“As I have said in the past, we are walking in uncharted territory, and no one can claim to know it all when it comes to the best way to handle this pandemic. We can only listen to the experts and apply common sense. Especially in Africa, and indeed Nigeria, the challenges we face are multipronged. Aside from not having health infrastructure that can handle a full-scale pandemic, we also have a largely informal economy.

“Caught between a rock and a hard place, we must find and apply solutions that are a product of scientific and logical thought. These solutions must also take our local circumstances into cognizance.

“In recent times, the Oyo State Government has come under intense criticism for not implementing a total lockdown in the state, and for not forcing people to shut down their businesses. We have seen the result of more extensive lockdowns in neighbouring states. Yet, we are not celebrating a win, because this is not a competition.

“Today, we are implementing one of the actions that is fundamental in deciding what our next steps will be. In the next few days after we increase testing, we will see for ourselves whether a complete lockdown is necessary. Our aspiration is to test up to 10,000 people within the shortest possible time. We are starting with the first 2,000 from today. I have been told we can complete this round in two weeks.

“Let me use this opportunity to express our gratitude to the Citizen for Citizen Initiative led by Mrs Ibukun Awosika, which donated the 2,000 test kits we will use for the tests. We also thank LifeBank Nigeria, which is collaborating with us to conduct the tests.”
Governor Makinde, who also used the occasion to appreciate health workers in the State for putting their lives at risk for the people, assured that his administration would continue to prioritise their welfare and safety.

The governor stated that 610 personal protective equipment were already on ground for the use of health workers while the State has also ordered an additional 400.

He added that health workers would be the first to be tested in the drive-through/walk-through testing exercise.

The governor further warned residents of the State not to take lightly the Government’s warnings and directives on COVID-19, noting that the virus is real.

He said: “Today is not a day to speak many words. We are here to kick-off the testing, and I will let you get right to it. But before I leave you, I want to say, and I will say this in both English and Yoruba to everyone listening. There may seem to be reasons to disbelieve that Coronavirus is real. Some people have said that the government is just using it to steal money.

“Some people have even used me as an example, saying “our governor had it but was not sick.” But let me say this, Coronavirus is real. I may have been lucky not to have shown any symptoms, my immune system may have fought it, but the next person may not be as lucky. We do not know who that next person may be.

“Luck is not a strategy for beating COVID-19. We have to follow logic and science. This is why we must maintain social distancing. You must stand at least three feet apart from other people. You must wash your hands regularly with soap and water or use an alcohol-based sanitizer. You must co-operate with us when we give you guidelines to follow. After this testing, when we see the results, there may be more guidelines. Please, work with us and choose to stay safe. Together, we can beat COVID-19 in Oyo State.”

By naijalovetips.com

Marital drama is never-ending. From the over jealous man to the protective woman, there’s always a reason to argue. In this post, we are going to share with you how Husbands react when their wife posts her pictures online According to Ada Bekee.

This is another wonderful thread by Ada Bekee a facebook influencer and blogger about marital related matters. Here are the 5 ways husbands react when their wife posts her pictures on Facebook;

#1. The Ones Who Don’t Care

These men would see your post and go through all your pictures. But they would still act like they didn’t see it. To them, silence is golden.

#2. The Ones Who Would Jump and Pass

These husbands will do everything to avoid seeing your post. Whenever your post pops up on their timeline, they will keep scrolling. Your page is your business, nothing concerns them.

#3. The Ones Who Monitor The Comment Section Like Kilode

The only reason these men come to your page is to go through your comment section. They want to know if any man calls you (their wife) names like “darling”, “baby”, or “sugar”… You better be ready to explain to him why a random guy calling you darling.

#4. The Ones Who Critically Analyze Reactions

I usually call these husbands the jobless fellow. They will critically analyze every reaction on your post to make a mental note of the people who used ‘love’ reaction. Be ready for investigation and queries.

#5. The One Who Would Take Screenshots of Your Post and Send To Your Parents And Pastors

These ones never approve of posting your pictures online. Once they see any of your pictures, they take screenshots of them and send to your parents and pastors. They’ll be like, “Can you see the type of pictures Tega posted on Facebook? Is that the kind of posing a responsible married woman should be posing?”

#6. The Ones Who Would Drop Genuine Compliments

These ones don’t really have an issue with you posting your pictures. They would always drop genuine compliments or banter. Every time you post a picture and compliments come pouring in, it only makes them proud husbands.

#7. The Ones Who Would Mark Their Territory In The Comment Section

These ones would always mark their territory in the comment section. They always act under the guise of paying compliments. They’ll be like, “That’s my beautiful wife, the mother of my 13 children and the queen of my kingdom… No man shall put asunder on what God has joined together.

#8. The Ones Who Would Reply Any Inappropriate Comment From The Opposite Sex

These ones are there to react immediately to any negative comment. If a guy comments, “all I see is beautiful skin and fresh laps,” the husband would sharply respond, “May I know you? Are you aware that she’s my wife?”
