After careful review of your work permit application and supporting documentation under the International Mobility Program, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your immigration status.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.
I want write a new SOP and respond to their concern and reapply immediately (tomorrow)
What do you think? Am I too fast? From my own view, you are extra fast. In as much as the visa application process takes time, I believe you should not rush it. The first thing here is to apply for your GCMS note which will guide you on your reapplication process. The refusal mail is generic while the real reason for your refusal is found in your GCMS notes. That takes 30 - 35 days. What you can do during the time of waiting for your GCMS note is to start preparing your next document. Thank you Hello, From what I can see here, they have not started reviewing your eligibility. That means you will have to be patient. Although things are becoming faster these days. Pray that your eligibility starts in few days and you get your approval. You can send webforms as well like [b]a week interval [/b]that is if your application has passed normal processing time. If your application is still within normal processing times, send webforms sparingly It will end in praise |

Yes, you can book weeks before starting our study permit application; this is called upfront medicals. (and I personally advise this. but doing an upfront medical doesn't in anyway increase your chances of getting approval over someone that didn't do his/her upfront medical, it just purely speeds up your application processing time).
I am in Alberta province, Edmonton: accommodation can range from 370 cad to 650 cad for a room (definitely all utilities), also mild advice; try not to get a basement suite because some houses rarely heat their basement and trust me the cold is insane, so just be careful about basement apartments. Adeenzo please where is this house at Alberta that is between 370 to 650 cad with all utilities and are the rooms with private bath or washrooms? If you have please let me know or you know someone who knows someone else (lol) |

FINALLY MY LANDING GIST !!!
we departed lagos on Sunday 27th December 2020 with EGYPT AIR.
before my flight
so i woke up at about 3:10AM on sunday, bags packed then it dawned on me me that i was finally leaving Nigeria. i had mixed feelings at first as i was heading to a new country i kept refleting o the journey so far from when i joined this thread in March 2020 how helpful its been cause i didn't use any agent, the long wait with unertainties from IRCC VFS and the likes. when the day broke i was filled with joy as my sister kept hyping me, so went to church to praie and thank God for everything before Leaving for the Airport.
LAGOS AIRPORT
So i got to the airport at about 11AM thinking i would just walk in as i had cheked in online the previous day, but no o, na so them diret enter queue . the checked all necessary documents, it was intact, i didnt need to settle anybody a dime. i saw one beautiful babe but didn't know it was Dameelee since i wasn't sure she was the one so i sent her a message through Nairaland DM she idn't reply so i said nor be she.
naso plane come o, looking very very scary, wasn't sure if i shuld board but when you look nigeria, you nor go thing twice run enter plane.
ADVICE- Bring everything you need cause services at the airport is expensive (Biro N100, Photocopy N300, Mask N500, Withdraw Cash N500 for N3,000 etc)
so the plane left, and time for food naso them give us bread and bread and bread mixed with chicken and cheese, my pain with the food esp the bread i that they were all very cold. for me the food is ZERO, so after 5 hours we got to Egypt, went straight to the immigration section, then i realised i didn't travel with my Tuition Reciept but thank God it was nott noticed. Then i confirmed this beautiful lady i saw in Nigeria was Dameelee and we connected  she was nice, we waited for 4hours and now it wa time to board Cairo to Toronto. the plane was so beautiful and sharp.
tho i never enter plane before but the flight was loooooooooooooooooooooooong 
after about 12hours we got to Toronto, OMOOOOOOOOOR!!!! Na me be this? from Warri to Toronto? i wan happy die but base on who we be we just package like say na normal life for us but if you see my MIIIIIND!!! i don throw backy tire. was still looking out for Dameelee hoping she nor miss for air cause she also got window seat 
Fist time i saw Snow Live through the window i just dey smile inside my mind but outwardly we package ourself 
fast forward, we got to immigration and my tuition reciept became an issue, i was delayed for some minutes cause they had to verify if truely iwas a student of CONESTOGA COLLEGE, finally baba gave me my Study Permit. OMOOOOOOOOR!!! i saw angels rolling re carpet for me to enter, naso me and Dameelee dey call family telling them we don finally land and cross POE
The HON RALFUDOH contacted me to pick me at the airport, when i stepped out of the aiport, MY PEOPLE OOOOOO  the cold wen slap me eh infact the cold when HIT me, two seonds i reverse enter airport again before person turn okporoko  finally HON RALFUDOH CAME jamming Naija gbedu songs in his car, was so warm inside.. As we dey drive, naso i dey talk OMOOOOOOOR!!! na me dey canada llike this Na me dey see Snow like this.
HON RALFUDOH was so nice that the gave me served me RICE and Confirm Pepper Stew, the food enter wella for the cold.
story still dey o but make QUARANTINE FINISH FIRST before them find me come house.
i kept saying when i sleep and wake up and i am still here then i am in Canada as i wake up open window see snow dey fall then YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! i am in Canada

They tried Western Union but Cbn currently placed a ban in Nigeria that money can't be sent from Nigeria to abroad thru western Union. Abeg help a sister  I do not know much. But do you have a dorm account? If yes, then they can send to your dorm account you can then transfer to a dollar debit card (dollar card) and collect it. I have done that in another country before but not canada. |

That's why most of us that sent mails to all those email addresses for the medicals got responses immediately and was updated maybe it might not be the main office where your application file is that updated it.It might be other office that's involved in your checking your application that updated it self so they are more faster than each other.Hence the reason they advised you send webforms and emails to different office.E fit be say Nairobi,Accra,London dey on top your matter any of the offices can update your Application as long as the visa officer is attached to your application that's my Analysis though I might wrong!!!. You are not wrong. In fact, I see your point here. Three officers from three different countries reviewed my work. The first office was in Canada itself (the province I am going to) and directed it back to Nigeria office before the Kenya office sent PPR. I called the VO office in Canada and they said it's no more with them. In fact, when I got the GCMS the second time, I was like Nigeria VO advised transfer again on top my matter. Thank God for @Chocs who told me what to do. Please pray o. As a matter of fact, the day I vowed I will never check my portal again this year was the day I got IRCC love letter. Applied on June 16
Submitted a new int'l passport on July 20 via webform (the old passport was going to expire Sept 2021)
Eligibility and background check started sometime around end of July
Upfront medical on Sept 01
Submitted my biometrics on Sept 08; it was updated an hour later
Deferred from Fall to Winter term on Sept 16
Sent in an updated admission letter on Sept 30
Sent a large cache of emails to IRCC between November and December. No tangible response got.
Medical was updated, passed, on December 15. Nothing more since then.
Did you notice any ghost update? Because I saw a lot of adjustments like deferment and a new intl passport. The more you need to apply fast for your GCMS note just like others have agreed. Please do but somehow I have the feelings that you would have gotten your approval before the GCMS notes arrive cos it takes like 30 to 35 days. |

Aah, IRCC! I never believed I could be waiting for BVL and final decision up till this time. Damn! It's 2021 and I'm still refreshing my GCKey account, searching for new update. This is perplexing, very.
No choice now than to order GCMS notes.
As a PhD student who has a 4.17 in undergrad (2015), a 5.0 in MA (Dec. 2019), several published academic papers and a Dean's fellowship (full funding: tuition waiver, living expenses of 22k CAD and option of Graduate Assistantship for extra cash not counted towards my funding package), I had thought that getting a study permit would be easy and fast. But, yeah, it's 6 months and 15 days now, and old boy is still anxiously refreshing his GCkey account. How so sad!
At this point, I'm even beginning to get mad at IRCC. But then, it's their country, and as they'll quickly remind you, study permit/visa is a privilege not a right. Still, it's all so sad! My dear brother, At this point you will know that everything is a privilege and not a right. But I feel you stand a strong chance. In my own case, I applied may 7 when my host has applied for work permit for me. Something like a postdoc you say. I am even fully funded. I was practically begging IRCC. The key is this: Apply for your GCMS. @Chocs told me to send mails and webforms based on what I saw from the GCMS notes. I got my GCMS notes twice. It was a serious case but it ended in praise. So apply for it and pray |

Timeline for my cousin, who got her passport today.
1)Applied on August 6
2)Medical request on November 23
3)Medical done at IOM Lagos on December 7.
4)Medical passed on December 12
5)Passport request December 16
6)Two-way courier was sent through DHL on December 18 (a Friday)
7)Application was received on Monday, December 21 and sent to IRCC on the same day
Decision envelope was dispatched from IRCC on Wednesday, December 23
9)Decision envelope was received by VFS Abuja on Thursday, December 24.
10)Contacted DHL to know if they are picking up packages from VFS Abuja, they said yes.
11)Shipment was put on hold because of the holidays. But it was shipped into Lagos on Saturday.
12)Today, Tuesday December 29, DHL delivered around 1pm.
13)She leaves for Canada next week.
Applications are never the same. What worked for A may not work for B. Do your best and leave the rest to God. These entry officers no dey check everything. I think they just apply discretion.
Never give up. IT WILL END IN PRIASE. What are the documents needed after you have gotten the visa now? what about the letter of introduction? letter of authorization? These are the things I heard from different places. Do you mind sharing what is needed till one flies? |

It takes 30 to 35 days to get it. So you have to wait. if you use getgcms.com then you are likely going to get it in 30days exactly 1oak:

On the contrary, I think she has a limited chance of getting accepted and having SP approval unless she will not state it in her application that she has achieved all that and still wanting to go for another Ph.D. (Senior Lecturer for that matter). At best, she should try and look for a Postdoc. Any reasonable VO (most times they are psychologists) will think She wants to relocate or run away from her country of residence. Another thing she can do is to apply for Express Entry. She has a very high chance and with her Ph.D., she will have a very high CRS score. All the best. Her age will not affect her chances of getting into a PhD.
She won’t have a problem securing another PhD. The problem will be convincing the visa officer why she needs another PhD. If she can do that successfully, she’s good to go.
She should choose her course, check for schools that are offering it and apply.
She’ll have to find a supervisor who agrees to supervise her work before she can apply. But all the rules will be stated clearly on the program’s website.
If she needs any more information, please feel free to ask the house.
