In my confusion, my tomatoes fell. I tried to wriggle free so I might get an inkling of what was going on, but people had gathered quickly. They were too much for me.

I heard him begin to blather about how I and another guy had robbed him of his gold wristwatch last night at the adjacent street not far from the spot of commotion.

I couldn't believe my ears. Last night I was sound asleep. I slept off while waiting for my roommate Tega to return but he didn't until early in the morning.

I tried to speak, but the words had only begun to get to my lips when a heavy small-sized stool landed on my head, just a little distance shy from my right eye. The pain was sharp and the bleeding was profuse.

My weight failed me. I staggered to the ground. I could feel the blood mixing with sweat and tripping into my eyes, forcing them shut. My head hurt, my eyes were burning.

I was blacking out, but not before I saw a heavily built man roll a huge vehicle tyre speedily at my direction, a petrol container in the other hand..

I struggled with my last strength to get up, but I couldn't. I was at the brink of unconsciousness. In a few minutes, I could feel my body burning. It was hot. Intense. But I have lost control of my nervous system. I could not respond. My mind screamed, but I felt trapped at the spot where I had been mauled.

Then I saw him, a man, he was floating, towards me. He wore a dark cloak with a hood, a long sickle in one hand. He was faceless.

He exuded so much energy that I stood up and began to follow him. It was surprising at first that I was floating too but then I saw my body, on the ground, still burning.

It dawned on me what had happened. I was following the Grim Reaper.. He took my shirt and understanding graced my spirit. It was his evidence of the cause of death.

I shouldn't have worn my roommate, Tega's shirt...
