Speak to ur doctors n midwives o!.me i have serious phobia for any oyibo contraceptive. We use CD sometimes dou.i hate dt stuff.we rather hold body for all my unsafe days instead.

Thought I posted this yday. Guess d network was bad when I submitted.
When I had my dd, her sample was taken d third day to check for jaundice,that's d normal routine in my hosp. She had 11.3 or so, I was told in the hosp to take her home and expose her to early morn sunlight and bring her bk again on d third day! I did when we got home. I also checked online and found out that the more they wee and poop the less the effect of jaundice in their system and dat formula will make them poo often. I got Nan 1 for her and fed her like thrice daily. By the time I took her to d hosp d 3rd day when they checked it had reduced to 10. The paed said I should take her home and continue that no cause for alarm and within that week she got over it.So the baby will be fine. 10 isn't so bad.
Babies that are given birth to before 38weeks have a higher tendency of having jaundice too

My sisters mil wanted to offer her unripe pawpaw water she swears by it but my sister and her DH no gree. Thanks dear the jaundice is now under control and reducing.

My daughter's own was 11 when i had her cos my hospital takes sample of newborns to check for jaundice.
i was told to take her home and expose her to sunlight and bring her back on the 3rd day . i did and by 3rd day it reduced to 10 and gradually it weaned off. i fed her well with formula also so that she could poo often cos d more they wee and poo, d lesser d effect of jaundice.
you can try that ma. give her formula like thrice a day, she shd still continue breastmilk. i dont think there's a need for transfusion yet except if the result doesnt go down. it is well with her in Jesus name

My baby niece is down with jaundice, she's been very sleepy ever since they returned from the hospital hardly opening her eyes. I curiously(I've read about sleepiness a symptom of jaundice) raised her eyelid and was shocked to see the whites of her eyes all turned yellow we rushed her to the hospital last night and she's currently receiving phototherapy.

Seeing her little body under that light is so heart breaking her parents are so distraught.

Mamas that have had jaundiced babies please is there any thing else we can do other than wait, watch and pray? Any suggestions will be welcomed thanks.

@lilybestie pls take at least 4 clothes especially if you are a first timer, most nigerian hospitals wont leave you the ff day, you might leave on the 3rd and baby will do change of clothes at least twice

Hello family, how is everyone? I registered here sometimes ago as team August and I have a testimony to share. I got married Nov 21st 2014, I got pregnant in January 2015 and I lost it on May 22nd 2015. I couldn't get pregnant immediately cos I had staph infection due to advice from people that we should start trying immediately and I couldn't wait for the lochia to stop flowing before resuming kpekus. in Dec 2015, I decided to do all I can to get rid of the infection before the year runs out. I started using one particular herb with lime and at the same time was on streptomycin injection for ten days . when I didn't see my menses on time, I decided to do pt and it was positive. I was supposed to be happy but I was sad cos if all the combination of things I took that cycle. I learnt that streptomycin injection has negative effects on pregnancy, either the pregnancy will not stay to term or the baby might have hearing problems. maybe that's the reason why I wasn't active on the thread cos I didn't know my fate. but to the glory of God that uses basket to fetch water in order to disgrace the bucket, I gave birth to my beautiful princess on the 10th of August through vd. My princess is very active, responds to the tiniest sounds . glory to God. I pray that God will surprise all our atc mamas in Jesus name.

Birth alert,gave birth to a baby boy thru elective cs.weighing 4kg ,but scan told me 2,9.wish all mother's safe delivery.

It happened to me when I was preg, I went to d hosp and was given amoxilyn and flagil, I was also scared to take drugs anyhow, I later saw a pharmacist dat prescribed canestin or sabrestin tube,just rub on d affected area. PLS don't use d insert o,just rub d cream.
I got relieved,d itching stopped (infection) but d discharge stopped when I gave birth

Please help me touch light this matter. I was feeling itching on my jajaina some weeks ago and when I went for ANC I complained, my doc prescribed Amoxicillin which I used but it seems to trigger the issue, I was felling more itchy and discharge... I complained the following week and he said I do HVS test.. The test result said growth of Proteus vaginalis[b] i don't know if I spelt it correctly..... I met another doctor when I went to submit the result and he prescribed CLAVULIN every 12 hours, I have used that for like 2 days now and I haven't gotten any relieve..... Am 39wks plus ... Am scared ooo hope the drug won't affect my baby and is there any other way apart from using the drug...... Also it seems I have pile and when I told the doctor, he said I sshdnt orry that it's because of the pregnancy.... Please don't read and pass ... Am tired of the severe itching... Any momma experiencing same thing

Pls mamas let's be careful of where we buy our hospital needs o especially stuffs like methylated spirit,olive oil n co. This is nigeria,if you don't know d original pls buy at a registered pharmacy and get a receipt.
A friend bought methylated spirit in d market alongside other stuffs. She had her baby and started applying it on d cord day and night, not knowing she bought fake. Close to 20 days d umbilical cord did not detach! I went to see her, she complained and was cleaning in my presence! I picked up d bottle and I realised d smell wasn't so sharp. Immediately I said so, she ordered her dh to buy anoda from a pharmacy and d second day, d thing dried off and detached. The fake spirit almost gave d baby infection oo, once they clean with it,instead of drying and becoming hard, d cord will be so soft and sticky, already bringing out creamy discharge
Please let's be extra careful as to what we apply on our LOs. God bless us
