AlaniPamoleKun:Candidly, if your greener pasture quest is a promising one (by promising I mean, you having a kinda assurance of getting something to do once you get there, like a job, you get?) & your #400k can suffice to move you there, it is not a bad idea, but if not; Look for something you can invest about #200k in and make #50k your working capital, keeping #150k to (in a piecemeal mode and when highly necessary) cushion the business at its early stage (cos it is bound to be turbulent a bit - though the turbulence level differs from biz to biz). Then see your investment as the ticket money you've paid, don't kill it with incessant withdrawals, rather the stipends you're going to save after then should be diverted into the investment. You're not going to get rich instantly, but I feel you're not going to regret the decision in some 15months to come. God bless your struggle |

When a man legally equipped with arms takes things that rid him of consciousness.......... Would it be too much to tag it a crime for an armed personality to indulge in consumption of these mind stealing things? |

mikolo80:As far as I'm concerned, whatever is taken up on a public servitude ground shouldn't be (morally) to 'make 'em know I did this'. For claims sake, transparency would have won it for anyone in that shoe, if scenarios like publishing how the public funds are used in real and transient forms, while maintaining an open-door policy on how people can question how they are managed are given considerations. Being rational or not, it isn't a certificate to jettisoning something that'd aid public good.... |
Well, @Op, things like that happen, but consider the following: 1. Identify the thing(s) you do/did that usually lead/led to confrontations from her 2. As per this particular case, convince yourself that you were wrong to have shouted at her ( bother less about your having a correct view as per the argument) 3. Give her sometime, like few hours, cos she's still hurt 4a. Tell dad to apologise on your behalf and that she should rescind her deleting you part or; 4b. Man up and go to her, apologise, call her sweet names (I used to call mine, finest girl) and tell her you didn't intend to hurt her, but you just lost control. At the end of the conversation, a peck would do (you don't need to be shy about it) As per number 1 above, make adult decision to be of good to your parents and lay good path for the juniors, eschew what you probably are not doing right, use the rule of not seeing the advantage from your angle alone, rather consider your life, your family and environment. Lastly, try to learn to stay quiet whenever any of your parents is trying to make a point. Even if you have a say, make it an explanation not argument. Calm |
obasiken:Whatever happened to 'government is a continuum'?! Some people are just too sick with greed to see from an all-inclusive advantage point...smh |
[quote author=trillville post=41263362]@TonyeBarcanista, the price of oil, though majorly determined by forces of demand and supply, is also determined by the strength of the US dollar. This is because oil is sold primarily in US dollars hence the term petrodollars. The US dollar strengthens when the US economy strengthens (I.e. interest rates go up so people buy US treasury bills and bonds increasing the demand for US dollar assets), and the dollar weakens when the US economy weakens. Crude prices started falling in the middle of 2014 when the federal reserve chair lady announced that the federal reserve would start lifting rates (basically saying the US economy is strengthening). Last week the US federal reserve raised rates for the first time in 9 years and the price of oil also saw its lowest level in 9 years. Again this December, the Chinese yuan (currency) was given status as a reserve currency by the IMF placing it in the SDR currency basket. Although this takes effect in September 2016. The implication of this should be a weaker US dollar since central banks around the world may decide to switch or include the yuan in their external reserves as this would reduce demand for the US dollar thereby leading to higher oil prices since oil is sold in US dollars. Why am I telling you all these, so you realize predicting the price of crude oil is much harder than simply looking at demand and supply figures. If the US falls into a recession like most other countries today, oil prices may shoot up, if central banks decide to use the yuan (e.g. Zimbabwe), oil prices will shoot up, if OPEC can successfully ensure all its members reduce production by only 5 percent of today's production numbers, oil prices will shoot up. Finally, Buhari has lots of options on the table, by employing 500,000 youths into teaching jobs(very important to our future), he would have the political capital to dramatically reduce the number of civil servants (many not so useful jobs). Let's all hope and pray for the best. We are in this mess already, we can only try to dig ourselves out of it. [quote] |
This kinda comment forces one to 'sit on the fence'. No idea of what he's supporting or opposing. The statement could as well make parties to both sides smile in agreement (hopefully) that he just sided with either of 'em.... |

Humblebloke:When the maker of a car starts to have attributes of a car, can he still be called a human being, no. He'd be called a car. Time is a creature, created by the Creator, it's an attribute of time to pass thereby becoming temporal, so there isn't any attribute of a creature that you can ascribe to the Creator. Once you do that, it ceases to be the Creator. Are you still afraid of telling me why you think there isn't a God? ![]() |
Humblebloke:If you can tell me when time came into existence, then I'd tell you when the creator of it did. You are seemingly hiding under "I've got nothing to prove", you have, brother. I say there's a God (who created everything in the universe), with proofs that the universe has got a maker and monitor of its seemingly perfect orderliness, you say there isn't then you have to bring forth your proofs too, even if you have to tell me that this God can't be seen, that's y He doesn't exist, you still have to attempt, if you'd make me agree that your position is tenable. If not, then it's apparent that you haven't been able to convince yourself on why you see no picture where I see it at. |
Humblebloke:I really admire your courage for accepting that you don't have proofs Proving that a God exists is simple: If you can present to me the first house without a builder and even a maintainer, then I'd agree with you that the universe as a whole came into existence by chance and without a creator. If you can prove that the sequence of the day and night can happen by chance from when you've been non existent, without a particular force monitoring such orderliness, then I'd agree with your terms If you can prove that you actually did evolve from a monkey like Darwin said, then I'd agree with you that the perfection and regularity in the process of human creation, which you know how it happens, doesn't have a controller. Even in the communities of human beings, interactions have proven to us that chaos and insanity thrives where there isn't a structure according leadership to some, followership to some and abiding by rules and regulations. So, I await your claims, for i understand your state of mind and that of any atheist, it's mere confusion. |
Humblebloke:Just like I'd be eager to see the proofs you'd sell for saying there isn't god. Of course, those things need faith to be believed in, except you can provide proofs that say otherwise. |
Reski:Wa iyyaakum |
Humblebloke:I see. Can you please explain your philosophy of divine relationship between man and God to me. I'm seriously being open minded now, brother. |
Humblebloke:As per buying cultures and being pathetic about it, if we go plainly logical, if it isn't pathetic for you to put on shirts and trousers, have haircuts (of celebrities), etc for they are not traceable to being your culture, then it isn't pathetic to adopt an Arabian culture if supremacy is seen in its method and positive outcome. However, I just described it as Arabian culture not Arabian religion. There is a big difference between culture and religion. Religion has a divine touch and have believers from different walks of life Culture is carved by humans and sectarian in nature. If you aren't of the race, you can't do it.........and beauty is no one is practising 100% his culture today, because they subject those ones they want to delete to civilisation. |
