Christianity Etc › Re: Who Is A Christian? by Olodo1: 6:48pm On Dec 11, 2012 |
joseph1832: Often have I ponder the 'real meaning of who or what a christian is? Simple put, being a christian means being Christlike, that's being like Christ. How many of our Nigerian christian today have that christlike attribute?
A person who says he/she is a practicing christian is expected to be like Jesus Christ in every facet of his/her life, yet I've come to notice a drastic difference in the way many 'supposed' practicing christians behave, Jesus Christ himself never condone evil, neither did he tell lies or accept bribes, or cheat, but many practicing christians of today are the exact opposite of Jesus.
Jesus spoke of humility (Matt 18:3-4), Today christians are way too arrogant, they exhibit all forms of hubris, he spoke of love and tolerance (Matt 5:43-44) (Mark 9:38:41) (Luke 6:27:36) for Christians today, just 'cause you don't attend the same church with a Nigerian christian, he/she instantly becomes your enemy 'cause they see you as a competitor or one who wants to 'steal' his/her members.
Just 'cause one goes to church regularly, self style himself in the image and likeness of his pastor and worship his pastor. Does that makes him/her a christian? What an aberration! The true meaning of 'christian' have undergone all forms of mutation, what we now have is the direct opposite of the word, and this is done by those who want to continue to use christianity as a means to exploit, and keep the people under control, just like the white man did years ago.
I urge Nigerians to wake up and see the light! Until we see ourselves and truely practice everything christ taught us our minds will continue to be enslaved by those who want to earn a living, using christianity as a means to do so. why are still asking who is a christian? |

Romance › Re: Ladies Avoid This Behaviors And See Yourself Getting Married Soon (A MUST READ) by Olodo1: 12:07pm On Nov 26, 2012 |
SabrinaNene: I was rolling on the floor when I read this post. Are you serious?...I'm sorry what century do you live in. Maybe cos I grew up with different parents, but I'm not getting married to be some guy's foot stool. Also this perception of "ahh women you better do this or you won't get married" is rather degrading. Last time I checked people come into the world alone and they die alone, yes marriage might be something good to have along the way, but I'd rather be happy and alone *or even in a civil partnership, than be with some guy that tries to treat me like a 2nd class citizen. In my opinion any guy that feels threatened or emasculated by a woman because she asks him to get water for her to wash HIS clothes, needs to check himself. Its called SELF-esteem, esteem of your damn self, and if having to go get water would really hurt your ego that much...then maybe you aren't really a man...ever though of that...#just saying. Yall need to stop blaming women for everything.... this statemenu is misleading. This is africa a place with cultured people. |
