What should I do? I paid for my transcript since January 29 still no update till now.

At times, ignorance makes one to become a victim of certain things. Have you ever wondered how the NPF wandered all over Nigeria searching for IMEI and, by magic selected your brother's phone? I haven't heard of any tool that scans IMEI on the fly as we pass anyone on the road, even if it exists, NPF do not have it. How then did they handpicked your brother? The NPF is playing a smart one on you guys and sadly, you fell for it. You and your brother are not tech aware at all. Did you bother to ask of the formal complaint laid by the said person looking for his phone? I don't even know what to type next, you fall our hand. You still even come NL on a Sunday morning to disturb us. To see the number of youths arguing about whether two phones can have same IMEI sums up the problem solving state of our youths. Have you guys thought about how the police managed to singlehandedly pick his brother given the fact that this incident took place in two different states? Is it my voodoo or NPF dey maga somebody?

I didn't tell you that he was picked on the road, they call him to inquire about where he schooled. Just to ask for his where about and he told them his location. Where he was picked up that such complaint has been laid against him. I don't understand what you want him to do. You want him to resist police and got dealt with mercilessly?

try and make photocopies of the receipt. That's the only proof you have against slot. Protect it with all your might. Slot may even deny if you can't present it. Infact laminate it

The receipt has faded but it is still with him but he paid with their pos and that pos recipient is also intact.

except there is another complain of phone theft from the former "complainant", if there was any. Slot should also be involved in it but trust the normal Nigerian business people mentality of always withdrawing from everything and pushing the problems to the customers. I just pity op's brother the way he will be treated by npf when he was accousted. It is unimagineble. NPF doesn't know what is called "innocent until when convicted".

I have instructed him to go and tell them and that we need to see them taking actions. Else we will start seeing them as seller of stolen phone.

I remembered one time they use to change phone IMEI. Don't know of now or is possible that there was a mistake from the info given to the police. It is also possible with low branded phones like infinix, Tecno and their families

Tweaking of IMEI no is what you refer to but the original IMEI should be on the phone which mean that if he had tweak his own IMEI they won't see the IMEI on his phone.

Indeed. Four or more phones can have the same imei number......... It's easy to change/swap imei numbers, the reason you see people conceal their devices imei numbers......

Thanks, but this is a case of two new phones, so tweaking of IMEI doesn't come up.

When the NPF is involved, how are we even sure they weren't trying to extort your brother if not that he had evidence of purchase? I don't trust the NPF. If two devices have the same imei, they won't work because they will be black-listed. Your imei is your real number, even without sim cards, it is possible to make calls, especially emergency calls with it. When you check the website imei.info, what particulars of phone does it display concerning the imei number of your brother's phone? If it displays particulars exactly of your brother's phone, then conclude that the NPF was only trying to extort him.

My concern is that won't he be harassed again with the phone still on him? Can slot take the case up for harassment of their customer?
Or should we put it up to slot that they sold a stolen phone to him?
