PoliticsMore Doctors Sponsored By Yahaya Bello Set For Induction Into Medical Profession by Oluboh(op):
More Doctors Sponsored by His Excellency Yahaya Bello, CON, Set for Induction into the Medical Profession

Another set of medical doctors, fully sponsored by the immediate past Governor of Kogi state, His Excellency Yahaya Bello, CON, will be inducted into the medical profession tomorrow, March 13, 2025. This is a significant achievement for Kogi State and a reflection of the former governor’s dedication to education and healthcare.

The journey of these doctors has not been without challenges. At one point, the Kogi State University (KSU) Medical School lost its accreditation, leaving many medical students stranded and uncertain about their future. Upon emerging governor of Kogi State and recognizing the urgency of the situation, Governor Yahaya Bello took immediate action, setting up a committee to assess the best way forward.

Based on the committee’s recommendations, the government ensured the transfer of affected students to accredited medical schools across the country, preventing their dreams from being cut short. At the same time, Kogi State’s teaching hospital was upgraded to meet the necessary standards for accreditation.

Beyond facilitating their relocation, Bello went a step further by fully sponsoring the students throughout their medical education, covering tuition, accommodation, and other academic expenses. This sponsorship, which cost millions of naira per student, removed financial burdens and allowed them to focus entirely on their studies.

Now, as these doctors prepare to take the Hippocratic Oath, the impact of that investment is clear. They are ready to serve in the healthcare sector, bringing their knowledge and skills to improve medical services in Kogi State and beyond.

Congratulations to the new doctors!
Congratulations to former Governor Yahaya Bello for his commitment to education and healthcare!
Congratulations to Kogi State on this remarkable achievement!

PoliticsTinubu, Yahaya Bello, Ododo, Others Attend APC National Caucus In Abuja by Oluboh(op): 9:01am On Feb 26, 2025
Yesterday, Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State, alongside his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus meeting at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The high-level political gathering, aimed at shaping the party’s strategic direction, brought together progressive governors, former governors, and other key stakeholders. The meeting was presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Bringing together APC governors, national leaders, and top government officials, the meeting reaffirmed the party’s commitment to unity and effective governance. The presence of both Governor Ododo and former Governor Bello indicates Kogi State’s strong representation in national political discussions as the APC continues to strengthen its internal structures and policy agenda both at the state and federal levels.

Nigerians Blast Natasha Akpoti for Suing Akpabio Instead of Apologizing for Senate Outburst

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is facing heavy backlash on social media for suing Senate President Godswill Akpabio for defamation instead of apologizing for her outburst over a routine seat reallocation in the Senate chambers.

Many Nigerians see her lawsuit as a desperate attempt to shift blame after she publicly disrespected Akpabio, Nigeria’s number three citizen. Critics argue that rather than owning up to her misconduct, she is playing the victim to gain public sympathy.

Social media users have called her actions disgraceful and unbecoming of a senator, demanding that she take responsibility for her behavior instead of engaging in unnecessary legal battles.

Alleged Money Laundering: EFCC Witness Says Yahaya Bello’s Name Not On Property Documents

...Case adjourned to March 6, 7 for continuation of trial

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, adjourned the money laundering case instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to March 6 and 7, 2025, for continuation of trial.

The court adjourned after the prosecution counsel, Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, called his two witnesses, one on subpoena.

When Pinheiro, SAN, called the first witness, Segun Joseph Adeleke, the Defendant’s Counsel, Joseph Daudu, SAN, objected, saying that the witness’ name was not included in the initial list of witnesses provided by the prosecution.

This, he said, could affect his cross-examination.

The trial, however, proceeded and the witness, who identified himself as the General Manager of Efab Properties Limited, was asked to tell the court what he knows about a property on 1, Ikogosi Road, Maitama and another one in Gwarinpa.

Adeleke told the court that the name of the former governor did not reflect on any of the two properties being examined on Monday and that he did not sight him throughout the transactions.

Giving an account of what transpired, he said sometime in 2020, his chairman, Chief Fabian Nwora, introduced him to a young man called Shehu Bello and that they had a discussion concerning the purchase of the property.

“We had a discussion concerning the purchase of the property in question. And he told me that the young man would be coming back to make payment for the property at an agreed price of N550 million,” he said.

When asked if he had seen Shehu Bello since that day, he said, “I saw him three times. The first time was for introduction, the second time for payment and the third time was when he brought a legal document for the execution of the EFAB property.”

The EFCC lawyer then mentioned another property at 5th Avenue in Gwarinpa and told the witness to tell the court what he knows about it.

Responding, the witness said the property was purchased by one Nuhu Mohammed for N70 million and was paid for through a bank transfer.

He was asked if he remembered which bank the money came from, but he said no.

On cross-examination, the defendant’s counsel, Daudu, SAN, asked if the witness’ actions were purely based on the instructions of his chairman. He responded, “Yes.”

The counsel further asked whether it was correct to say that he did not initiate any discussion with Shehu Bello on his own, to which he also answered, “Yes.”

On the documents signed for the transactions, the Defendant’s Counsel asked the witness if he could confirm that Shehu Bello signed his own part in his presence.

“He did not my Lord,” he answered.

Daudu, SAN, also asked: “Throughout this transaction, did you set eye on the defendant?”

“Not at anytime in the course of this transaction,” the witness responded.

He was also asked if the name of the defendant appeared anywhere on the documents he said were with the EFCC.

He, again, answered, “no!”
The Prosecution then told the court that they had another witness to call, on subpoena.

The Defendant’s Counsel objected that they were being taken by surprise but added that he had no intention of stalling the trial.

The second witness identified herself as Williams Abimbola, a compliance officer with the United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA).

She had the subpoena with her, which the lawyer sought to tender as evidence.

The Defendant’s counsel had no objection and it was marked “Exhibit 1”.

The witness read out the documents the subpoena asked for to include the statement of account of Kogi State Government House, from January 1, 2016 to January 31, 2024.

The statements of account of Maselina Njoku, from January 1 to December 31, 2022, were also admitted in evidence, including the account opening packages of American International School and statements of accounts, from September 1 to September 30, 2020.

Justice Emeka Nwite then adjourned to March 6 and 7, 2025 for continuation of trial.

PoliticsGov. Ododo: Yahaya Bello's Greatest Gift To Kogi Is Flourishing- Kogites. by Oluboh(op): 7:04am On Jan 28, 2025
By Abdul Mohammed Lawal.

One of the biggest tests of a leader is leaving behind a system that keeps working after their term. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State understood this and made it his mission to mentor future leaders who could continue his work. His efforts led to the rise of Ahmed Usman Ododo as governor, showing how good planning can secure a brighter future for the state.

Even though many didn’t see Ododo as the obvious choice, his performance so far has shown that Bello made the right decision. I was inspired to write this article to explore how Yahaya Bello’s leadership and planning gave Kogi State this gift, how Ododo has used what he learned, and the good results the state is seeing today.

Governor Yahaya Bello believed that good leadership means preparing for the future. From his first term, he made it clear that his successor would come from the system he built. He gave everyone in his team, from the grassroots to the top, a fair chance to grow and prove themselves as capable leaders.

This was different from what happened in the past. For example, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, a former governor of Kogi State, struggled to find a worthy successor from his team. Instead, he chose outsiders with no political experience during the two different 2011 PDP gubernatorial primaries. This decision created problems and slowed the state’s development. Bello wanted to avoid such mistakes.

Bello’s planning paid off when Ahmed Usman Ododo emerged as governor. Ododo had worked closely with Bello and understood his style of leadership. His rise wasn’t about being popular but about being capable and ready to lead. This is similar to what happened in Borno State. Governor Babagana Zulum, who was also chosen from within the system, has led Borno successfully, even through tough times. This shows that when a leader is well-prepared, it helps improve governance.

Bello’s aim was simple: Kogi needed a leader who could continue the progress and take the state to greater heights.

Ahmed Usman Ododo is proof that Bello’s plan has worked. Ododo learned a lot about leadership, making decisions, and running a government from his very active role in the "New Direction" administration. He studied what worked well, what didn’t, and used these lessons to guide his actions as governor. He saw Bello’s focus on building roads, creating jobs, and keeping the state safe, and he has continued in the same direction.

Unlike many new leaders who struggle to settle into their roles, Ododo hit the ground running. Because of his experience in Bello’s government, Ododo was ready to lead from his first day in office. He knew what the state needed and started working immediately to deliver results, and this is the defining story of ongoing policies and projects.

By learning from the past; both the good and bad, Ododo has avoided common leadership mistakes and is focused on making Kogi better. His first year in office has been one of the most successful in the state’s history, showing how well Bello’s mentoring worked. This has been a beautiful time where supposed critics easily turned into admirers.

In his first year as governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has achieved important things that are already making a difference in Kogi State. Despite some earlier doubts, he has shown that he is capable and committed to improving the state. It's a blessing to recount some of these milestones.

One of his main achievements has been in building and improving roads. Ododo has worked to expand important road projects that were started before, as well as begin new ones to connect rural areas with cities. This has made travel easier and helped the economy by making it simpler to move goods and services around the state. The past year has seen over 20 road projects across the state, with most of them finished or near completion.

In healthcare, his government has improved hospitals and health centres, especially in rural areas. This has allowed more people to access better medical care. The most important of the health initiatives has been the continuous funding of the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and the recent approval for the remodeling of 63 of them across Kogi State. This is in addition to the expansion of the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme (KGHIS) to cover more vulnerable Kogites, including people living with special needs.

In education, Ododo has improved school buildings and provided support to teachers in the form of training and work incentives. The State's free education policy from primary to secondary schools has been sustained, with the government paying for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) for all Kogites. This is in addition to the continued infrastructural development across state-owned tertiary institutions. His aim is to make sure that all children in Kogi have access to good education, no matter where they live.

Additionally, Ododo has made sure that he has made employee welfare a continuous priority. Government workers are paid on time and he has approved a N10,000 harmonization allowance for pensioners, which has helped to restore trust in the government. He has also launched numerous programs to create jobs for young people, giving them the skills they need to build a better future.

These achievements show the greatness that Ododo is not just continuing what Bello started, but is also making his own impact. His first year in office tells the story of a leader that is focused on building a better future for everyone. What a beautiful story this has been!

This brings me back to the concept of succession planning that is often ignored in Nigerian politics, but it is important for making sure a state continues to grow even after a leader leaves. Governor Yahaya Bello’s decision to prepare Ahmed Usman Ododo as his successor shows the value of choosing a leader who understands the state’s needs and can build on what has already been done.

Ododo knows that good leadership means being fair, listening to people, and focusing on results, and he doesn't joke with those lessons. In him, Bello successfully avoided the problems that often happen when new leaders don’t know the state well. This smooth change has helped Ododo continue important projects and bring new ideas that benefit the people of Kogi.

Kogi’s experience shows that succession planning is not just helpful, but necessary. By preparing Ododo, who understands the state’s challenges, Bello made sure Kogi would keep moving forward. Ododo’s success shows how important it is to have future leaders ready for the job.

To those who are still asking: what has Ododo done in Kogi State aside from paying salaries? I stand to boldly state that Yahaya Bello's greatest gift to Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, is thriving in the business of governance. His leadership shows that when a leader plans for the future, it benefits everyone.

Ododo continues to lead and Kogi’s future looks brighter. Thank you, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the gift of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The streets of Kogi state were awash with an electric atmosphere as thousands of jubilant supporters lined the roads, waving flags and chanting songs of solidarity. It was a homecoming like no other. Former Governor Yahaya Bello, the man who had weathered a storm of political adversity, returned to his beloved hometown amidst cheers that echoed through the hills of Kogi State.

Only days after securing bail in his ongoing case with the EFCC, Bello’s arrival symbolized more than just a legal reprieve—it was a testament to his unwavering connection to his people. Dressed in his signature white kaftan with a matching cap, alongside the incumbent governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and other personalities, he stepped out of his convoy with the confidence of a leader deeply loved by his community.

As he made his way to the podium erected in his honor, the crowd erupted into a thunderous ovation. Women adorned in vibrant Ankara fabrics danced with glee, and youth groups carrying banners with inscriptions like *"Yahaya Bello: Our Hero"* chanted, “Sai GYB!” The people led a prayer, thanking God for Bello's safe return and asking for continued strength in his leadership journey.

In his speech, Bello did not shy away from addressing the political intrigues surrounding his legal challenges. “This is not just about me,” he declared, his voice steady and resolute. “This is a fight for justice, fairness, and the future of Nigeria”.

He seized the moment to reiterate his commitment to all round development of Kogi state through his successor, emphasizing ongoing projects in infrastructure, healthcare, and education. “We will not be deterred. Together, we will make changes that stand tall in Nigeria—a beacon of unity and progress,” he vowed, eliciting chants of approval from the sea of supporters.

Behind the fanfare, the political undertones were unmistakable. Observers noted that Bello’s return was as much a demonstration of his political strength as it was a homecoming. Key allies from across the state and even Abuja were present, signaling their allegiance and staking their claims in the unfolding political drama.

As the sun set over Okene, casting a golden hue over the celebrations, one thing was clear: Yahaya Bello’s return was not just a moment of personal triumph. It was a declaration that, despite the trials ahead, he remained a force to be reckoned with in Nigeria’s political landscape.

For the people of Kogi, it was a day of pride and hope—a reminder that their leader was back, ready to continue the fight for their future.

PoliticsHow Tinubu Played El-Rufai, Bello: The Loss Of Kogi, Kaduna, And Beyond In 2027 by Oluboh(op):
As Nigeria braces for the 2027 presidential election, the political landscape under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unraveling in ways that suggest a dramatic decline in support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) across key states, including Kogi and Kaduna. Political betrayals, alleged politically motivated prosecutions, worsening economic hardship, and a growing sense of disenchantment among the electorate have created a volatile storm that could cost Tinubu and his allies the presidency.

Tinubu’s Political Chess Game

According to inside stories, President Tinubu’s strategic politicking reportedly involved leveraging Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello to thwart Nasir El-Rufai’s ministerial ambitions. Bello was allegedly asked to influence Senator Sunday Karimi who opposed El-Rufai's nomination during the Senate’s screening, citing national security concerns. This move deepened cracks in APC's northern bloc.

However, Bello’s ambition to seek APC’s national chairmanship reportedly irked Tinubu, prompting a swift response. Soon after, the EFCC intensified probes into Bello's financial dealings, signaling political retribution.

By the time the dust settled, El-Rufai was sidelined, Bello politically weakened, and Tinubu’s influence strengthened. Critics view it as a masterclass in power play, underscoring Tinubu’s deft control of party politics and his readiness to neutralize allies and rivals alike.

The Tumult in Kogi: Persecution or Politics?
The EFCC’s trial of Yahaya Bello, the combative and influential outgoing governor of Kogi State, is being widely perceived as a calculated political persecution. Many observers tie the saga to Bello’s refusal to step down for Tinubu during the contentious APC presidential primaries in 2023. Bello’s bold presidential bid showcased his significant political clout and his ambition to emerge as a national leader—a stance that deeply rattled Tinubu’s camp.

Even after the primaries, Bello remained defiantly independent, withholding full-fledged support for Tinubu’s campaign in ways that created quiet but palpable tension. When Bello later aimed for the APC National Chairmanship following Tinubu’s inauguration, it was seen as a further challenge to the president's consolidation of power. This ambition was swiftly quashed, and the subsequent EFCC investigations into Bello’s financial dealings are viewed by his ardent supporters as deliberate retaliation. The timing and intensity of the scrutiny, when juxtaposed with the impunity enjoyed by other APC powerbrokers, lend credibility to claims of selective justice.
Bello’s Deep Political Roots
Yahaya Bello’s influence extends far beyond Kogi State. His wide-reaching network, cultivated through strategic relationships with youth leaders, Northern elites, and grassroots organizations, makes him a potent force in Nigerian politics. Despite his polarizing image, Bello commands unyielding loyalty in Kogi, where he has constructed a formidable political machine. This network has grown even stronger with the election of his loyal protégé, Usman Ododo, as governor. Ododo’s victory ensures that Bello remains a central player in Kogi politics, a situation that complicates Tinubu’s hold on the state.

With Ododo’s administration deeply aligned with Bello’s vision, Tinubu faces a significant hurdle in rallying support from Kogi’s political base in 2027. This reality is amplified by the popular perception that Bello is being unfairly targeted by a government he helped bring to power.

Kaduna’s Chaotic Rift
Kaduna, once a bastion of APC dominance, has also descended into political turmoil. Nasir El-Rufai, the fiery former governor and erstwhile Tinubu loyalist, was denied a ministerial appointment under controversial circumstances, a move many saw as a betrayal. This decision has fractured the APC in Kaduna, with El-Rufai’s loyalists viewing Tinubu’s administration as insincere and exclusionary.

Meanwhile, Kaduna residents grapple with surging insecurity and economic hardship, issues that Tinubu’s administration has failed to address effectively. The dissatisfaction is fueling the opposition, particularly the PDP, which is capitalizing on the discontent to make inroads in the state.

Northern Politicians’ Plot to Unseat Tinubu

A brewing rebellion within the North poses one of the gravest threats to Tinubu’s reelection bid. Many Northern politicians, including influential governors, traditional rulers, and grassroots leaders, are reportedly plotting to unseat the president in 2027. Tinubu’s perceived favoritism toward the South-West and his inability to adequately address Northern insecurity, economic deprivation, and infrastructural decay have alienated key powerbrokers in the region.
High-level meetings among Northern elites suggest a coordinated effort to undermine Tinubu’s dominance. Discussions are reportedly underway to rally support around a consensus Northern candidate who can unite the region’s vast voting bloc. This strategy, reminiscent of the tactics used in previous elections, could fracture the APC and give the opposition a decisive advantage.

Opposition Unity: A Growing Threat
While the APC struggles with internal divisions, the opposition is showing signs of unprecedented unity. Leaders from the PDP, Labour Party, and other smaller parties have been meeting discreetly to strategize on how to oust Tinubu. Their focus is on building a formidable coalition that can capitalize on widespread discontent with the APC.

Key figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso are reportedly considering a unified front, setting aside personal ambitions to prioritize removing the APC from power. This coalition-building effort, combined with grassroots mobilization, is poised to present Tinubu with his toughest challenge yet.

Economic Despair and Political Disillusionment
Under Tinubu, Nigeria’s economy has faced catastrophic challenges. Inflation has soared to unprecedented levels, the removal of subsidies has left citizens reeling, and the devaluation of the naira has pushed millions into deeper poverty. These economic woes, coupled with the APC’s perceived failure to provide meaningful relief, are eroding trust in the party’s ability to govern effectively.

Political betrayals within the APC, ranging from Bello’s marginalization to El-Rufai’s exclusion, have added fuel to the fire. Former allies who were instrumental in Tinubu’s ascent are now disillusioned, with many quietly plotting to undermine his reelection bid.

#### **The Gathering Storm for 2027**
If Tinubu fails to reconcile with figures like Yahaya Bello and Nasir El-Rufai while addressing the economic and security concerns of the North, he risks losing not only Kogi and Kaduna but also the presidency. The growing unity of the opposition, coupled with the discontent among Northern politicians, is a clear warning sign for the APC.

The 2027 election is shaping up to be a referendum not just on Tinubu’s presidency but on the APC’s ability to manage Nigeria’s fragile democracy. Without urgent and meaningful action to address grievances and heal fractures, the APC may face an electoral debacle that spans far beyond Kogi and Kaduna, threatening its very existence as Nigeria’s ruling party.

PoliticsWhich Money Did Bello Steal? How Much Is Kogi's Total Allocation- Barr. Jesutega by Oluboh(op): 7:42pm On Dec 03, 2024
Jesutega Onokpasa, a lawyer and outspoken supporter of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, has once again defended the embattled politician amidst fraud allegations. In a fiery interview, Onokpasa downplayed the accusations, attributing them to political rivalries within Kogi State. “What did Yahaya even do? This is just about the politics of Kogi State, whether Usman Ododo will come back or not. We’re the members of the party. We know what’s going on,” he asserted.
He questioned the validity of the fraud charges against Bello, who is accused by the EFCC of misappropriating over N110 billion during his tenure as governor. “Which money did Yahaya steal? From where? How much money is in Kogi State?” Onokpasa asked rhetorically, dismissing the charges as baseless and politically motivated.

Reaffirming his loyalty to Bello, Onokpasa made his position clear with an impassioned statement. “I’m with Yahaya Bello; anybody who doesn’t like it can go to Sapele and jump into River Etiok. It’s the deepest river in West Africa.” His remarks reflect a deep-rooted conviction that the allegations against Bello are part of a larger political agenda within their party.

PoliticsYahaya Bello: Betrayed By Trust, Redeemed By Choice - Abdul Mohammed Lawal by Oluboh(op): 6:50pm On Nov 23, 2024
Leadership is often seen as a fragile bridge of trust; built with vision, maintained with integrity, and, most times, tested by the actions of others. His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, is an example of the strength needed to overcome such tests. His leadership in Kogi State broke barriers, empowered ordinary people, and set a "New Direction" for governance. Yet, it was not without its share of betrayals, challenges, and eventual redemption.

From the beginning of his administration, Bello’s leadership was focused on empowering the average Kogite. He broke away from the old system of privilege, and gave opportunities to those who might never have had a chance to rise to prominence. By trusting these individuals with important responsibilities, Bello redefined governance and opened doors for many.

This vision brought beautiful results. Many of those Yahaya Bello empowered became successful leaders, and proved his ability to recognise and nurture potential. Their success is a product of his uncommon foresight that hasn't been talked about enough. However, not all could handle the weight of responsibility. Some misused the trust given to them, and turned it into a means to serve themselves instead of the people.

These individuals worked to protect their new positions by creating a false image of loyalty. To the public, they were not fair in their dealings most times, but they tried to appear as dedicated servants with no fault. But to their principal, they reported a distorted version of events and provided proofs that aligned with their stories. They treated Bello’s kindness as a personal treasure to keep for themselves.

For a time, they managed to mask their intentions and seemed indispensable, but their actions slowly began to undermine the ideals of the administration. Too many lies were told to and against their principal to uphold a status quo that they established. But, how could they think it would go unnoticed forever?

As the saying goes, the truth always comes out. Over time, their real value began to fade, and their betrayals came to light. While they failed to notice their declining relevance, the "New Direction" government continued its work in building a secure, prosperous, and united Kogi State. Bello, always watchful, saw through the games being played, and prepared for the key decision of choosing a successor.

The question of succession brought its own set of challenges. As the New Direction government matured, the good, the bad and the ugly within the administration sought to take over leadership. Some believed their closeness to Bello gave them the right to succeed him, while others relied on the influence they felt they had built. Yet, Bello had always said that his choice would go beyond personal loyalty and focus on what was best for Kogi State.

In a bold and unexpected move, Bello endorsed His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as his successor. This decision surprised many and was met with resistance from some quarters. Those who had played their games now acted like victims, and claimed they had been unfairly treated. But Bello’s decision was clear; it was about securing the future of Kogi State, not pleasing individual ambitions.

When Ododo took office, there was doubt about whether Bello’s decision had been right or wrong. Critics questioned his capability, and those who felt betrayed spun a narrative to discredit him. The ethnic and emotional cards that accompanied the 2023 Kogi State gubernatorial made it easy for them to push their narratives on the common man, but Ododo’s early achievements already proved them wrong.

His performance silenced critics and keeps setting a high standard for leadership in Kogi State. Who said those who could manipulate the emotions of Kogites for long and even play their own principal to take a fall would have ever come close to this?

Ododo’s leadership strengthened the foundations of the "New Direction" government. By keeping its principles alive and adding fresh ideas, he has shown his commitment to the welfare of all Kogites. His practical approach to governance has improved the state and changed public perception, proving Bello’s decision was the right one. However, not all lessons from the "New Direction" era have been fully learned, as His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, continues to face challenges, even beyond his time in office.

Loyalties can quickly shift in politics. It won't be wrong to say some of those who once benefited from his leadership have now turned against him, working with outside forces to damage the legacy they once saw as theirs too. These former allies, believing they know Bello better than anyone else, have used their insider knowledge to try and weaken the system he built. But, knowing Bello like they claim, should make them understand that he won't break.

Driven by a sense of entitlement, these individuals have tried to destabilise Bello’s influence. They fail to understand that the success of the "New Direction" government was never dependent on them alone but on shared values of service, unity, and progress. Teaming up with outside forces, they have shown an unwillingness to let go of the power they once enjoyed. But, will they ever enjoy the trust of average Kogites again?

Did they tell their new allies and the EFCC that, even as they work against him, Bello remains firm. As he holds onto the principles that guided his leadership and the progress he achieved for Kogi State, I wish he could get to do a tell-it-all about these individuals someday.

The claims of victimhood made by those who tried to undermine Bello’s benefaction are now losing ground completely. Their efforts look hollow against the successes of Ododo’s administration. Without the influence they once held, their relevance has faded, and Bello’s vision remains the driving force behind Kogi State’s progress. Thank you His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for setting Kogi on the path to greatness.

The most striking result of this story that I will keep telling whoever cares to listen is how Ododo’s success has confirmed Bello’s legacy. The achievements of his administration have silenced critics and proved the enduring strength of the values of service and strong will.

His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello's leadership is one that has been tested by dishonesty and strengthened by wise choices, and it's a definition of what true governance means. He is a leader who focused on the collective good rather than personal gain, and he ensured the values of his administration would last beyond his time in office with the blessing in the "Chief Servant of Kogi State", His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

In the end, it's not just about the achievements of Bello's "New Direction" administration, but about the lasting principles that guided it and the impact it will have on tomorrow. The ability to tower above betrayal and focus on the greater good has left a lasting mark on Kogi State. Time will tell the real Bello’s story as one of a will too strong in the face of betrayal, and the strength to keep mute and watch the oppressor play the victim cards.

In leadership, as in life, it is not the games people play that define us but the choices we make in response to them. Thank you, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for those choices have secured your place as a builder of leaders in the history of Kogi State. Thank you for all that you have given.
