2023: Bello Ambassadors Visit South-South Political Stakeholders, Woo Supporters For Yahaya Bello

The aspiration of Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, to become the next president of Nigeria after President Mohammedu Buhari, has received a major boost from the South South region of the country following a consultative tour to stakeholders in the zone by a political group - Bello Ambassadors Network (BAN).

BAN, a major body formed to propagate youthful leadership with the projection of Yahaya Bello for the 2023 presidency, with over 3 million members across the country, ransacked the nooks and crannies of Akwa Ibom, Edo, Cross Rivers, Rivers, Delta, and the Bayelsa States, meeting political and traditional leaders, youth groups, professional bodies as well as students groups soliciting endorsements for Yahaya Bello.

The group led by its national coordinator, Hon. Anthony Edogbo in the company of its South-South regional coordinator Comrade Paul Ibara visited former House Members, party chieftains, academic dons, renowned traditional rulers, grassroots mobilizers, as well as several former and current local government chairmen and councilors across the states in the region.

Noteworthy in the group's your of South South was when it was welcomed to Rivers State by mammoth crowd comprising of youth and political leaders awaiting the arrival of the team. Upon arrival, the team was led to the famous palace of King Tom Ateke, the Ex-Militant Leader and first Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom in Okirika, where BAN received his support and royal blessings for Governor Bello.

Meeting with a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Akwa Ibom State and Former House Member representing Oron III Federal Constituency, Mr. Otu Ita-Toyo, the group led by their grand patron, Chief Sunny Ibanga, didn't struggle to get an endorsement for Bello as the former lawmaker said, "I will gladly offer him ideas for the development of our country," noting that they have played their own part while in the government and that it is time for the young people to wake up and take over.

BAN in its tour consulted met several other noble personalities including, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Prince Udom U. Ekpoudom; Chief Godwin Afangide, Former Commissioner in the Akwa Ibom State; Arck Samuel Akpan, Former Senior Special Assistant to the governor of the state; Captain Sam Ewang RT, Formal military Governor of Ogun and Rivers state and respected traditional rulers like the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V; Hon Sam Obo - a two times council chairman and party chieftain as well Member of the Edo state APC working committee; His Royal Highness RT. Hon. Agolia Cookey Aboko Benebo (JP), KING OMONI XII, Amayanabo of the Ke Kingdom in Rivers State and former House of Representative Member as well former Deputy State Chairman, Rivers State PDP; It also met Mr. Omiete Eferebo, the Rivers State APC Deputy Chairman.

Others met include Dr. Omoh Francis - Edo State APC Welfares Official who assured BAN that they "We will do the needful," and several other personalities in Delta and Bayelsa states; Engr. Lawrence Okah; and Chief Barrister Frank Okafi Erewele.

The team met with several groups which include the National Association of Nigerian Students - South-South chapter; National Association of Akwa Ibom State Students drawn from all higher institutions in the state, Igbo youths network in Akwa Ibom State, Charging Point International Political group in Calabar, Concerned Citizens of Cross Rivers, National Association of Cross Rivers State Students, National Youth Council Of Nigeria, Cross Rivers Chapter, and Cross Rivers Progressive Union.

It also made a special visitation to the Former House of Rep. Member representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, Chief Ernest Irek; Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Cross Rivers State on Political Matters and Former Commissioner Local Government Affairs who was also Former State party chairman, Chief Dr. Ntufam Peter Ojie who said: "He looks into the future with a lot of hope for this country."

BAN, before leaving the South-South, also had a significant meeting with National Youth Council, Rivers State Chapter, led by Comrade Nwisabari Bani Samuel. In the confab held in GRA Port Harcourt, the youth told BAN that Yahaya Bello remains the eyes of the young people. The youth council said it has no alternative other than Bello as it has become obvious that the time for the young people has come.

The consultative tour which took BAN many days moving from one state to another across the South-South led to a declaration of support for Bello for the 2023 presidency in a communique issued at the end of the South-South Town Hall meeting held at the Legacy Hall Samlaw Hotels, Uyo which was attended by stakeholders and several group leaders from Bayelsa, Rivers, Edo, Delta, Calabar and Akwa Ibom States.

PoliticsSouth West Youths Gather In Lagos For Yahaya Bello, Vow Support (Photos) by Oluboh(op): 9:22am On Feb 27, 2022
Youths across the six states of the South-West, on Saturday, converged on Lagos to ask Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State to contest the 2023 presidential election.

The youths, who expressed confidence in Bello, vowed to rewrite what they described as “Nigeria’s political history” of “recycling old, tired politicians”.

They also promised to chase away money bags.

The youths disclosed this during the launch of Rescue Nigeria Mission (RENMIS), in the South West.

The group canvassing support for Yahaya Bello presidency had been earlier launched in several Northern states, as the youths said they were ready to mobilise for the Kogi State Governor, no matter what happens within his party, the All Progressives Congress.

The coordinator of the youths in the South-West, Shola Saheed, said, “We are excited today that all our youths are keying in. As we speak today, over 20 million youths (PVC holders), at home and abroad, are already actively involved in the struggle to install our own, Governor Yahaya Bello, as President. Others are already trooping in.

“We are set to rewrite political history of Nigeria. We will not listen to ‘Baba sope’, we will collect their billions if they bring it, but we assure you, we will put Yahaya Bello there with our numbers. Don’t ask me how we will do it. Just watch and see how we would rescue this nation resolutely and peacefully.

“This is the time for us the youths to change the status quo. If we don’t get it now, we might not get it again. I am calling on Nigerians to rise up and support a man that has the capacity to rule Nigeria.”

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku, who was invited to witness the South-West declaration, thanked the youths for their support for his principal and promised that he would not let them down on the call on him to contest.

He said, “Governor Yahaya Bello is the face of the youth in the Nigerian governance system today. Kogi State is the centre of Nigeria, being the only state bordering 10 states, including the FCT. Governor Yahaya Bello came on board as governor and governed Kogi State without a porous border

“The economy and IGR of Kogi State tripled within the short period. Such a man who has been able to transform the economy of Kogi State, unite the people and fix security issues in record time is the man Nigeria needs.“The South-West youths of Nigeria are here in Lagos to call for a replication of what is happening in Kogi State in the larger Nigeria.”

He said Nigerian youths must be ready to end recycled presidency, saying there is need for a change of status quo.

PoliticsRe: APC Convention: Mutiny By Yahoo Yahoo Politicians by Oluboh(op): 10:55pm On Feb 21, 2022
*Re: APC Convention: Mutiny by Yahoo Yahoo Politicians*

By John Ali

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has a pressing challenge on its hands that it may not fully appreciate yet. This challenge has nothing to do with the now controversial scheduling of the party’s National Convention nor is it about the contentions on how key national party and elective positions should be zoned. The conundrum is what APC will do with the erstwhile Director General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Salihu Moh. Lukman, who was recently disgraced out of office when it emerged that certain governors in the north were using him to undermine the APC.

Going by his latest diatribes, Lukman has apparently spiralled into depression. The only other logical explanation for his outbursts is that he got himself hooked on some cheap cocktail of drugs that is proving destructive to his mental capacity, one that may well cause problems for the APC unless it does something to urgently rehabilitate the former DG of PGF, who now brands himself as a Freelance APC Campaigner, even though such anomalous designation is not known to the party.

His outburst that prompted this response was titled “APC Convention: Mutiny by Yahoo Yahoo Politicians,” which normally should not merit a response owing to its inanities. But from a different perspective, the piece would one day be quoted by the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) or any other political party that Lukman sells his soul to. It is thus necessary to give context to the issues raised in the referenced piece so that history is not left distorted owing to a failure to answer a fool according to his words.

First, it is totally irresponsible for Lukman to refer to APC leaders as “Yahoo Yahoo Politicians”. He is by extension demarketing the entire party. These are people he rolled with daily before his treachery was discovered and properly addressed. If they are Yahoo Yahoo Politicians as he now calls them then he is himself one by association. He could have resigned his then position upon the constitution of the APC’s Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), but he stayed on and only discovered that the Committee is mutinous when it refused to do the selfish bidding of some northern governors to whom he is beholden.

Secondly, the premise of Lukman’s tirade was that some governors are working on their agenda to become president, vice-president, or secure ticket for a second term in office. The poser here is: when has it become a crime to aspire to what one is qualified for? Interestingly, the people on whose behalf Lukman is running a fool’s errand have the very same interests. He is inferring that his clients-principals have the right to aspire to these offices while other Nigerians must be criminalized for aspiring even when they are qualified. Contrary to the impression created in his write-up, his clients are the ones desperate to become president or vice-president to the detriment of the party and certainly to the peril of Nigeria.

Furthermore, there is an urgent need for Lukman and his puppet masters to note that the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) is not on the same pedestal as the CECPC. APC as a political party is envisaged in the Constitution of Nigeria and CECPC as a committee it legitimately constituted derives from the party’s own constitution, which gives it legitimacy that makes its actions known to law. PGF on the other hand is not known to law; it is at best an interest group that has no means of attaching itself to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a village association for butchers is likely better anchored in the law than PGF. This makes it perplexing that Lukman has a gripe that PGF is being snubbed by CECPC. The APC committee was not constituted to take orders from PGF, which has by the way exhausted the goodwill people had for it as a non-statutory body that arrogated the roles and took on Supreme Court role to be the final arbiter in its own case.

Equally interesting in the possibility that Lukman might be struggling with multiple personality disorder. Only last week he accused the Chairman of CECPC, Governor Mai Mala Buni of not being approachable and being hostile to interaction. But in his latest piece he accused the same Buni of relating only with “His Excellency Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and His Excellency Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State” which implies that Buni is in touch with the north, south-east and south-west. That is quite some geographical spread unless Lukman does not know what he is talking about. It is tragic that the disgraced former DG of PGF decided to rubbish the CECPC as a political Ponzi scheme because the Secretary, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, is not at loggerheads with the chairman. This speaks to how he is so traumatized psychologically that he expects the whole world to be in crisis to suit his mood.

Not to be overlooked are the symptoms of hallucination exhibited in Lukman’s tirade. He sees shadows behind every furniture in the room such that he now engages in a toxic mix of conspiracy theory that has hints of a heavy dose of hallucination. In one breath he accused Buni of hobnobbing His Excellency Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and His Excellency Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State “based on the plot to retain His Excellency Mai Mala Buni (as substantive APC chairman) and next thing he claimed the quartet are after the same thing? If the four gentlemen are interested in the same position how then can they be friends? If Dapo Abiodun is interested in a second term ticket as claimed, how did he become mixed up in chasing a presidential ticket. It is not an easy task having an insight into the mind of a troubled person.

Lukman went on to describe the running of the party’s affairs as tales by moonlight, which is unfortunate because a man who sees politics as tales by moonlight has no business being even a gate minder at the national headquarters of a political party. Yet this one wants to be the one calling the shot in the very establishment he sees as farce. The delusion that drives Lukman is sever, otherwise when did deferring to the wishes of stakeholders become dishonesty? The distortion of perception disturbing him must have come from the relativity of where Lukman stands - with emperor-governors for whom democracy is a meal ticket. He claimed that some governors are opposed to zoning because they know that their aspirations in the 2023 elections would be over if certain party positions are zoned to their geo-political zones. If any governors are opposed to zoning and they made it known Lukman should have been specific in mentioning name so that one would not conclude that he is hearing voices.

All doubts that this man is dealing with a severe case of emotional dissonance are laid to reast when one considers that he still ludicrously talking of the convention being five days away when stakeholders are resolute on shifting the date to buy time for undoing the damages done by his principals. He was even questioning why the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must be considered in requesting a date change. INEC’s presence as observer at a political party’s convention is a matter of the law and if the electoral body has other fish to fry by way of a bye-election it must attend to there is nothing anyone can do about that. But the disgraced DG of PGF would rather have it differently as he would prefer to hold a convention that would be invalidated by INEC’s absence, which would be consistent with the objective he has in mind of destroying the APC.

Additionally, it would be interesting to know what standard Lukman applied to arrive at the conclusion that Mai Mala Buni, Yahaya Bello, Hope Uzodinma, Dapo Abiodun, Uzor Kalu and some few others are dishonest people must be punished. His clients, even as fellow state governors as the aforementioned, rate nowhere near these men when integrity is the subject of discourse. It is up to these men to take Lukman to task for impugning their integrity. But he may yet be correct because there has been a mess and APC must punish offenders. It is those that have pitched the party against itself that must be sanctioned and not CECPC - Buni and Akpanudoedehe. The good work that the CECPC team did is what kept the APC from derailing on the scale that the PDP derailed. Lukman should rather explain the destabilisation role he is playing for the PDP and the party being put together by former President Obasanjo and the interface he has maintained for his principals with these two entities.

This is because, there is every need to come out strong against dishonest politicians within the party’s fold. But the first task is unveiling who these dishonest politicians are. A strategy for achieving this is for the APC to move against the hirelings that can lead to the big fish they are running errands for and Lukman is one hireling that has exposed himself. The party should start with him.

In conclusion, Lukman is correct that every genuine APC member and leader must join hands to rescue the party from Lukman and those he represents. His clients, the governors he is running errands for are the real Yahoo Yahoo Plus Politicians who want to continue sucking other people’s sweat and blood. In the interim, PGF should be magnanimous enough to foot the bill for Lukman to have a mental competency test. After all, their decision to sack him as the DG PGF was the trigger for his ongoing psychosis.

One Year Anniversary: 'Bello Ambassadors Network Is Nigeria's Biggest Political Movement'

...thank Nigerians For Supporting The New Nigeria Project

In commemoration of its official inauguration on February 20th at the Merit House, Abuja, last year, one of the currently leading political groups in Nigeria, the Bello Ambassadors Network, a group formed to champion the actualization of a youthful president through the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello come 2023, has made available information about its membership strength so far and what it has been able to achieve within one year of "rigorous" activities across the 36 States.

The leadership of the group, via a statement issued to reporters in Abuja on Sunday, disclosed that the group currently has a membership strength of over 2 million Nigerians with 70 percent youth.

Upon the inauguration of BAN last year, the group had approximately 86,984 registered Nigerians within 24 hours of unveiling its website, making it to become the fastest-growing political group in the country in recent times.

The group said it had targeted a minimum of 5m registered and devoted Ambassadors by December 2021, a fit it got close to through massive support received by concerned Nigerians.

BAN set up with the main objective of creating an exploratory/outreach plan for Nigerians and taking the programs and campaigns to the doorsteps of every Nigerian, has recently toured the South East and South South regions where the people have adopted Bello as their candidate for the 2023 presidential election.

In the statement signed by its national coordinator, Hon. Anthony Edogbo, BAN noted that it has enjoyed rapid growth so far because the man it is out to market is a "sellable product". It said people, particularly the youth, from across the 36 States are rushing to join the group because it is about Yahaya Bello, adding that the governor's towering name is the major factor boosting the membership of the group.

It said the organization is being funded by members and volunteers across the states and has received car donations as well as office spaces across the states.

BAN which has officially inaugurated its state excos in about 16 states said governor Bello is the fittest person to help the youth actualize their dreams of taking over power which has been denied for many years. It said the organization has been able to make young Nigerians realize that their time has come and that it is now and through governor Bello.

On why it chose governor Bello, BAN made it known in the statement that Bello has all the qualities of the leader needed to fix the country, stating that the governor has religious tolerance which he displayed by building the first chapel in the Kogi State government house for Christians as well as creating peaceful co-existence among the religions in the state.

It also said that Bello is the most detribalized leader in the country as the governor's cabinet is said to be made of several tribes in the country. It mentioned the giant strides of the governor in the area of security and education.

Pharm. Asuku: That Rallying Point for Nigerian Youths

By Best Agbese

I had always regarded the role of the youths in nation-building in Nigeria. This much has been reflected in most of my public engagements. However, I was recently confronted with this position when I was a guest at the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja.

Aside from the ambience that was receptive, I noticed a steady flow of processes from the Governor's office to other concerns in the governance circle in the state. The usual government bureaucracy was relegated to the background. It looked like a private organization where time management was at its peak.

I was impressed that I made moves to enquire about the brain behind the seamless flow of activities. This is aside from the array of young people that I came in contact with, holding strategic positions in government.

From the Chief of Staff to commissioners, advisers, and other aides of the Governor, it was a beehive of activities. However, I was particularly struck by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharmacist Jamiu Asuku. He created an indelible impression in me on the role of the youth in governance in the country.

An exceptionally brilliant chap, whose work ethic has kept the engine of Kogi State government house running most impressively, he exhibited a firm grasp of governance issues that justified his appointment as the Chief of Staff by the Governor in the first place.

This is why I hold the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, in high regard due to his style of governance that has brought out the innate potentials of the youths in Kogi state. Aside from the Chief of Staff, who has been the forbearer of the seamless administrative machinery of governance in the state, other notable young folks are daily redefining leadership in the state.
This is noteworthy of the Governor, who has been relentless in ensuring that the youths are better prepared and equipped to take over the reign of affairs in the country.

I must add that I have been hearing of the exploits of Pharm Jamiu Asuku long before the encounter in government house Lokoja. He has carried on in such a manner that indeed placed youths in most parts of the country in a prime position to actualize their dreams in contributing their quota to nation-building.

His intelligence is exceptional in the sense that you could notice his penchant for thinking outside the box. For example, it is on record that in his position as Chief of Staff, access to the Governor is not cumbersome as he treats all official matters with decorum and a high level of professionalism, which has been a critical component of governance in the country.

He indeed reminds me of the invaluable role of the youths in socio-economic development in the country. I am tempted to add that what the Governor of Kogi state has done regarding maximizing the potentials of youths in the state should be a template that should be emulated across the board in the country.

The implication is that inputs from the youths in the country would be radically felt across the board by implementing fresh ideas in solving the myriad of challenges confronting the country. Pharm Jamiu Asuku has sufficiently exhibited this much as the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State.

I am equally tempted to add that should Pharm Jamiu Asuku find himself in a higher position of authority either in the state or at the federal level; we should expect to see sheer brilliance and dexterous strategies towards advancing the cause of the common good. This I can vouch for, in all honesty.

Another aspect of Pharm Jamiu Asuku that I need to bring out is his honesty and sincerity of heart and purpose. This much has been confirmed by most of those whose paths have crossed his, including my humble self. I was more than elated that I was forced to ask him what motivates him. His response was simple; leadership should be seen as an opportunity to serve in the overarching objective of achieving the common goal of a society where solutions must be readily available to solve challenges.

I could not agree less with him because Nigeria is due for the paradigm shift from emphasizing challenges to solving them through a combination of capacity to identify the challenge as a first and the knowledge put resources and skills to work and the wisdom to be guided by the bigger picture in all our endeavours. If we must admit, the above can’t be achieved without honesty and sincerity of heart and purpose.

I had several takeaways from my encounter with the young man, which I would readily recommend as lessons in leadership that should be imbibed by young folks in governance, including those aspiring to get involved in governance. The Pharm Jamiu Asuku example is apt. It somewhat gives us the hope that the upcoming youths indeed have what it takes to bring about meaningful development.

I will, at this point, encourage Pharm Jamiu Asuku to see his present position as that stepping stone into the centre stage of leadership in the country, but on the condition that he remains focused. He must also continue to improve his understanding of the complexities inherent in the leadership circle in Nigeria.

I do not doubt that he is a fast learner who has learned quite a lot under Governor Yahaya Bello, who has demonstrated capacity and the political will to redefine leadership in the country. Finally, he must continue to serve as that rallying point for Nigerian youths.

Members of State Houses of Assembly across the country under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have endorsed Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, for President in 2023.

The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued after the extraordinary meeting of the forum of APC State Legislators of the Federation held in Abuja, yesterday.

The 365 legislators, who attended the programme across the country, also passed a vote of confidence in President Muhammadu Buhari for his performance and leadership qualities.

Similarly, the lawmakers passed a vote of confidence in the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee for repositioning the party and for his purposeful leadership.

Explaining why they threw their support behind the presidential bid of Bello, the forum described the Kogi governor as a young performer who has the interest of the country at heart.

The lawmakers also decided to embark on mobilisation of support for Bello’s aspiration in their various states.

They said: “The State Assembly Legislators of the Federation endorse and state their unalloyed and unshaken support for the aspiration of the young and ebullient governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello, who has, against all odds, decided to take the bull by the horn, by aspiring for the office of President of Nigeria in 2023.”

Yahaya Bello halts schedule to attend to people with Special needs

Moved to compassion on Wednesday, Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello, alighted from his vehicle to interact with some disabled persons who had been waiting outside close to his residence.

Joyfully displaying a banner with the Governor's portrait on it, the people with special needs expressed gladness when Governor Bello moved closer and exchanged pleasantries with them.

"Your Excellency. A man of simplicity. I doff my hat for you," a voice echoed from the crowd as the Governor exchanged pleasantries with everyone.

"I was just told you have been waiting to see me. I didn't know. I had to go out for a programme. So, when I was told, I had to turn back to come and attend to you," said the empathetic Governor.

Governor Bello, however, promised that they will be well taken care of and will listen to their demands/requests.

2023: Bello Ambassadors Meet South East Stakeholders, Gather Massive Support For Yahaya Bello

The people of the South East geo-political zone have given a nod to the aspiration of the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to become the next president of Nigeria following a series of consultative and town hall meetings held between the Bello Ambassadors Network (BAN) - the main political group championing the actualization of the youthful presidency through Bello - and several groups and stakeholders in Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi states.

As its first port of call in the region, BAN national stakeholders in the company of the Ebonyi state executives of the group visited former and current House of Representative Members, Council Chairmen, traditional rulers, and academic heads in the state at the kick-off of her tour.

Among those visited in Ebonyi include a former House of Representatives Member representing Ezza South Ikwor Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Eleme Francis; former Attorney General of the state and Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Augustine Nwankwegu; His Royal Highness, A. Eze Abata of Ezza South who is the youngest traditional ruler in the state.

Other critical stakeholders visited include Prof. B.C Ibekwe who described governor Bello as a "dynamic" and "energetic" governor who falls between the "age bracket" suitable for leading contemporary Nigeria and Professor BAF Ngwu who said the governor is brave and young, urging that he should be given the chance to fix Nigeria. The academic don added that he is available for any movement in support of the young leader.

A former local government chairman of Ezza South, Chief Joseph Egede assured the group that he would mobilize the people of Ezza which are said to be the largest clan in Ebonyi state, in support of governor Bello's presidential ambition. According to him, he has been an ardent follower of the governor and that he is sure of victory, adding that he is not known for loss.

Meanwhile, while addressing the group, the former Attorney General of the state and Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Nwankwegu noted that every genuine member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) should support the candidature of the Kogi State governor and that there is no single reason to deny him the party's ticket.

The team also met students and youth groups, 2 other local government Chairmen, and other members of the national assembly who openly declared their support for the governor and assured BAN of mobilizing votes in the APC Congress and general election.

As part of its southeast consultative tour, BAN national stakeholders stormed Anambra, the Light of the Nation state, in the early hours of Thursday with a visit to His Royal Majesty, Igwe Peter Nwokike Anugwu - Igwe ka Igwe Mbaukwu in the company of the Anambra State team of the organization.

The ambassadors proceeded to meet with the Vice President of Ohaneze Social Cultural group Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene at Nanka his country residence where he informed the group that he doesn't think it's a better time to still vote aged people as the leaders of the nation.

The group also met with the Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Hon. Basil Ejidike, Professor Paul Orajaka who is a former Vice-Chancellor of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, His Royal Majesty Obi Gibson Nwosu - Eze Uzu II of Awka kingdom - amongst several other traditional rulers, opinion leaders, businessmen and women as well as student and youth groups in the state.
BAN also paid individual visits to the Enugu State APC Chairman, Hon. Ugochukwu Agballah, several former House Members, academic dons, known traditional leaders, party leaders, and former local government Chairmen across the state.
The group on Friday had a Breakfast Meeting with selected stakeholders and representatives of different groups in the South East at the Conference Hall of Geneva Hotel, Awka. It also held a South East Town Hall Meeting where it was discussed and agreed among the stakeholders across the 5 states in the east that it is the time for the youth to take over the leadership of Nigeria through Yahaya Bello.

Discussions were also held with Stakeholders in Abia and Imo states. The team visited high-profiled traditional and political leaders in both states as well as critical youth leaders and professional bodies in the states who all resolved to throw weight behind governor Bello agreeing to the notion that only he can run a united Nigeria.

A communique signed by over a thousand Stakeholders including captains of industries, political leaders, respected traditional rulers, youth and students leaders as well as academic dons across the Igbo land containing a resolution to support the candidature of Yahaya Bello because of his courage, detribalized nature, giant strides in security, and youthful energy was issued at the end of the South East congress.

Anthony Edogbo in addressing the different groups and stakeholders visited convincingly pointed out the detribalization nature of governor Bello who appointed a couple of Igbos into his cabinet, his age and modern style of governance, the achievements of the governor in the education sector, security, health, prompt salary payment as well as women and youth inclusiveness. He also harped on the marginalization of the north-central region and the need for the east to work together with the region as people have suffered the same fate.

PoliticsPostpone APC Convention In Best Interest Of Party And Democracy - APC-DINET by Oluboh(op): 3:48pm On Jan 21, 2022
Postpone APC Convention In The Best Interest Of Party, Nigeria’s Democracy – Diaspora Group

The All Progressives Congress in Diaspora Network (APC-DiNET) has called on the ruling party to cancel its proposed February 26th national convention date.

According to a statement signed by Dr. Makama Omeri, the Coordinator, APC-DiNET, United Kingdom, the move would be in the best interest of the party and nation.
Failure to consider another date for the convention could ultimately hamper the party’s chances at next year’s general elections and truncate the nation’s democracy.”

The Diaspora group also cited the Electoral Act Amendment Bill as a lingering issue that could affect the convention.
Following the amendment of the mode of primaries, Omeri noted that the process between the transmission to the Presidency and assent could take more than the six weeks slated for the APC convention.

The APC-DiNET also lamented unresolved congresses in many states of the federation as well as other unresolved disputes.

Under the prevailing circumstances, Omeri said it is “absolutely mindless, insensitive and counterproductive to hastily fix APC national convention date in six weeks from today”.

The group, therefore, called for a revisit and extension of the national convention date of February 26, 2022 to allow space and time to fraternally resolve pending crises issues

2023: 600 women groups to stage ‘One Million Women March’ for Yahaya Bello
At least 600 women groups, drawn from different parts of the country have concluded plans to converge on Abuja next week Tuesday, in a solidarity walk for Governor Yahaya Bello of the Kogi State presidential quest.
Operating under the auspices of Women United For Yahaya Bello (WUYABEL), the women groups, including Non-Governmental Organisations, civil society organisations, religious, professional bodies, women in media, politics, market women as well as top women entrepreneurs, among others, will storm Abuja to drum support for the Governor, ahead of 2023 presidential election.

According to the organisers, the women groups, having come to the obvious conclusion that the nation requires one with pedigree, youthfulness and capacity to succeed incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, have taken it upon themselves to collectively canvas support for Bello, who they said had demonstrated the ability to resolve the myriads of challenges confronting Nigeria.
The Global Coordinator of WUYABEL, Dr Hanatu Adeeko who announced this in Abuja, explained that the gathering will be the first of its kind “especially now that the political stage is almost set”.

According to the women of a substance across key sectors of the Nigerian economy, “Bello, as governor, has redefined governance in Kogi State with sterling and verifiable performance, especially in the areas of women and youth empowerment, poverty alleviation programs, massive infrastructure development, and health care delivery among others,”

Dr Adeeko, a Physician, said, “He (Governor Bello) has empowered and supported women to grow. No state in Nigeria has given more positions to women than Kogi. And sincerely, the state is getting it right in critical areas. We want to encourage other Governors to walk the talk by standing with that one Governor that has made us proud. Governor Yahaya Bello must know that once he has women on his side, he can go to sleep. We believe in his capacity and will make it happen.

“This will be the first in a long while that women on their own will come together in their numbers to speak with one voice.

“We are coming to Abuja to demand that the status quo must be changed. This is the time for us to yield power to younger people, especially those who have given a good account of themselves in other places they’ve rendered service.

“We have observed closely the people that are showing interest in the presidency and if we continue to keep quiet, the change we desire may not manifest. This is the reason different women groups are coming to Abuja to say it loud and clear that it is Yahaya Bello or nobody,” he stated.

The organisers further expressed optimism that Bello’s presidency would usher in a breath of fresh air while asking Nigerians from all walks of life to support the project as it would be “a clear departure from the old order.”

The solidarity walk is tagged, “One Million Women March for GYB”.

PoliticsRe: North Central Lawmakers Endorse Yahaya Bello For President, Stand With Buni by Oluboh: 7:36am On Jan 14, 2022
Simeonee111:
2023: North-central lawmakers pass vote of confidence in Buni, endorse Bello for President

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, state legislators in all the North Central states have passed a vote of confidence in the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress.
The legislators also endorsed Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello for President in 2023, being the only person that has shown interest in the position from the zone.

The lawmakers made the unanimous decision with one voice at the end of a One-Day extraordinary meeting of the APC States Legislatures from the six states of the North Central Zone, held in Abuja on Thursday.
They urged Bello to continue to pursue his ambition, saying he remained the only person that the zone could rally around “for it to be counted in the power equation of the country.”

The lawmakers stressed that the Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee needed the support and cooperation of all parties faithful to reposition the party for better performance and victory in the 2023 polls.
According to the convener, the immediate past Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Ahmed Marafa, the extraordinary meeting was convened to discuss the political future of the zone with respect to what he called the power equation in the country.
Marafa urged members from the six states of the zone to see the reason why all well-meaning men and women must come together and agitate for a fair share for the zone.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Matthew Kolawole, who initiated the meeting over one year ago, commended the lawmakers for their quick response to the meeting, noting that it would go a long way to show their genuine efforts to look after the welfare of their people.
He said since 1960, the zone had been marginalised and neglected in the democratically elected leadership map of the country despite the endowed human resources in the area.
Kolawole said it was time for all and sundry, irrespective of party affiliations, to rise up and join hands to agitate for a north-central presidency come 2023.
In a communique passed at the end of their one-day roundtable, the legislators appealed to all party faithful at all levels to give their support and cooperation to Buni to complete the good works that had led many people into the party since he assumed office.
They also called on all the leaders in North-Central to continue to pursue the North-Central presidency without prejudice to their personal aspiration, pointing out that the number one position in the country would be more beneficial to the zone and the nation at large.

Politics2023: Yahaya Bello Fits Best - PDP PCC Spokesman, Segun Sowunmi by Oluboh(op): 6:29am On Jan 08, 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y29huNvE4V4

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowunmi, has asked Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sowunmi, a spokesman for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in 2019, made the remark during an interview on Friday’s episode of Politics Today on Channels Television.

“If I was to take anybody from APC … I think I will be looking at Yahaya Bello,” he said in response to a question on who he would support to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, other than a member of the main opposition party.

“Why? He (Bello) is young, he ticks your box. He’s been a governor. I have been watching the kinds of things he’s doing, I read the kind of people who are endorsing him, but I know that he is in the party where they will never look at him.

“So maybe I will just say to my friend Yahaya, ‘come to PDP; even if you don’t get Presidency now, we will make you a president one day in our party’. But if you stay with that party, I don’t trust them. They don’t like young people … the only thing they are interested in is their narrow fixation on what they interpret to be the Nigeria of now.”

As Nigerians anticipate the process to elect another leader into the highest office in the land, political actors and parties have begun to intensify efforts at getting their anointed candidate to succeed the President.

Although President Buhari has said he would prefer to keep the identity of his preferred candidate undisclosed, some of the APC members tipped for the office of the Presidency include Yemi Osinbajo, Bola Tinubu, Godswill Akpabio, Rotimi Amaechi, Rochas Okorocha, and Yahaya Bello, among others.

Among those in the PDP are Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Tambuwal, Bukola Saraki, Goodluck Jonathan, Pius Anyim, Bala Mohammed, and Peter Obi.

Despite his position on Governor Bello, Sowunmi believes Atiku remains the best candidate to be elected in the 2023 elections.

According to him, the former vice president fits into the attribute required of the next president, such as age and fitness, religion, ethnicity and zoning, quality of character, ideas, as well as someone who has a unifying persona that can help galvanise the nation.

“I have always said, when it comes to Atiku Abubakar, the issue is not really about where he comes from; the issue is usually about the kind of ideas he stands for over the years,” the PDP chieftain stated.

He added, “I believe that where people come from is an accident on birth and I also hold very strongly that in this country, there is one error we make often – we tend to assume that there are three souths made up of the south-south, the south-east and the south-west and then when we get to the north, we pretend that there is just one north.

“To the best of my knowledge, the North Central has not produced a president in this dispensation; the North East has not produced a president in this dispensation; the South East has not produced a president in this dispensation.”
