bezimo:If you read what I have put up, you will discover how much I agree with the tithing idea. And then the Malachi 3:7-10, are things from under the law. We are not of the law anymore. We are free from the curses of the law. We are new creation beings. Glory! |
IamaNigerianGuy:My brother, part of the reason Jesus came for us is so that we will be rich and wealthy. Jesus while on earth was extremely rich, he had a Treasurer. His cloth was so expensive, soldiers had to gamble on who to take the club home. And the Bible does not teach to abandon this world and go for a reward in heaven. in fact, Jesus said Go ye into the world and preach the life of God. As Christians we are not aiming for heaven, we are in heaven already. The eternal life is now. As He is in heaven, so are we on earth. |
oruma19:Let me quickly explain the concept of tithing to you and what churches preach. 1. Tithe didn't come with the law. Abraham Was The first tither in scriptures. 2. He was already blessed before he gave tithes and he had access to more blessings after tithe. 3. Abraham gave 10% knowing fully well that the remaining 90% belongs to God, why he was able to sacrifice Isaac. 4. Tithe became a law to the Israelites to give 10% of their proceeds to the Levi (who were the priests) cos the levites were not to work. So the Tithe was their wage. 5. If you didn't pay the tithe as an Israelite, God was angry with you and punished you. 6. The new covenant came, Grace took over law. So the tithing concept under the law is gone. 7. The tithing idea of Abraham is what is being encourages by our pastors today. 8. Abraham was not forced to pay tithe, tithe payment is not by force. 9. Abraham was blesses before he laid tithe, we are blessed with all spiritual blessings already (even of we don't pay tithe). 10. Nobody told Abraham to pay 10%, so he could have paid 20%. Pastors today think it is reasonable to give 10% to God (Apostle Suleman already increased his to 30%) 11. Under the new covenant, our given is based on our love for God and our understanding of giving. You can decide to give God your whole salary for a year. 12. Our pastor says just like Abraham paid 10%, it is reasonable for us to have a 10% set aside from our income to give to God. 13. When you tithe, there are blessings attached. If you don't tithe, you are not cursed. 14. In all, God owns all your 100%. |
IamaNigerianGuy:Jesus had no business collecting tithe. He was not a priest in his days, he was what we call church member. He was the one paying tithe. Mark 2:1 (and several other verses) suggests to us that Jesus had a house in Capernaum. Several days later Jesus came back to Capernaum. The report went out that he was home. Mark 2:1 |
Okoyeeboz:... Brother, I don't know if it is ignorance that is making you react like this or you are just angry unnecessarily. The companies you just mentioned are business entities, not people. So, it will be very unfair and inappropriate to compare them with a person. It is like comparing your wealth to that of IMF, that comparism measure isn't balanced. Oxford University Press is a branch of the Oxford University which prints, and of course Oxford University which owns the Publishing company is a big one. I don't really know those who are in charge of the school at the moment, but I know the University on its own is able to own planes. At least, the Oxford University owns an Aviation school and even the University of Mississippi owns an airport. Harper Collins has been in existence for years, they have started operation since the 1800s. You don't ask if Harper Collins owns a private jet compared to Bishop Oyedepo. You ask if the managers of Harper Collins own private jets compared to Bishop Oyedepo. You can check Brian Murray out online, he is the current CEO of Harper Collins, the man is super rich. Plus Bishop Oyedepo is not a publisher, he is a writer. And excellent writers are rich people. JK Rowling, the writer of popular Harry porter is richer than the queen. JK Rowling flies all over in private jet. I can give you countless name of people who are rich through writing: You can check out Myles Munroe, Steven Furtick among others. A great success in writing can get you a private jet sir. And then you mentioned Sony, lol. Sony is not a person. And for your information, there are individual producers and singers that have private jets. Bishop Oyedepo has so many books written by him and tapes acknowledged to his name. Funny enough, he doesn't sell his tape (as far as I know) and he has publicly declared that he doesn't make money from his books. You See, this men of God are rich because they understand that money is spiritual and they are able to obey and command the spiritual laws of money. Tithe or no tithe, offering or no offering, the church will still be very very rich, because Money cometh to the church. Years ago, it was a luxury to own motorcycles, Archbishop Benson Idahosa bought one and was sent away from church, later everyone started buying Motorcycles. Then it was a luxury to buy cars, Archbishop Benson Idahosa bought a Mercedes Benz and they called him all kinds of name, today cars are no longer luxury. I see that men of God we're divinely paving way for the entrance of abundance then. First bike, then cars, now it is private jet and you have started shouting. Soon, private jet will no longer be a luxury because Christians will be buying them, it will interest you that Winners Chapel is preparing for this move already. If we can't buy private jets, how do we prove that God can do all things. As long as the kingdom work needs to be done and Christ needs to be taken to the ends of the world, everything needed will be acquired. If you understand this mystery, you might be the one to catch the fire to build the First Christian Airport. Shalom. |
Saverin:I have an issue with those of you who think Jesus was poor when He was alive. Who told you that? Go and read Chapter 3 of the Midas Touch by Kenneth Hagin and you will understand better. How can Jesus be poor? He was presented with Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. He was so rich He had a Treasurer. His cloth was so valuable that the soldiers had to gamble on who would take it. Christ even had a house in Capernaum. In a portion of Scripture, Mary used an expensive perfume on Jesus and people were complaining just like you are complaining about the expensive life of Pastors, go and read Jesus' response to them. Jesus had no business collecting Tithe and offering during His days, He was not a priest. But Jesus Christ paid all these things Himself, even up to tax. Have you not read Matthew 23:23 where Jesus recognized that Tithe payment was good (and He gave those factors that are much important in the giving of your tithe). Times and period differ, during the days of Christ there were no Cars, private jets and all. For a very significant moment and time, Christ rode into Jerusalem. My Jesus was not a poor man, if Jesus lived today, He will live one of the best lives ever. |

Saverin:Boss! No one is saying there is no financial fraud in the house of God. There has been from time past, till now. Do you remember Eli's son and samuel's son? Do you remember Ananias and Saphirah? But we can't be pointing accusing fingers to Men of God when there are no evidence that they are defrauding us. Those who have been caught doing fraud in the church have been dealt with in time past and the way it works is that God deals with such people. And if we think that Pastors are defrauding members because of the private jet they have then we are getting it wrong. Pastors are men like us and it is right for them to feed from the Church, the Bible encourages it. These pastors do not then just take care of themselves from the Church purse, they take care of the people too. Just that we see more of the things they do for themselves, than they do for others. Let me round up by saying that no sane Pastor will buy a private jet if it is not needed. Pastors who have churches in countries all over the world need a better and fast means to move around and that is the commission that God has put in our hands, to reach to the ends of the earth. |
yemi1261:You are blessed bro. I don't like denominationalism too or let me say I don't like what we have turned it to. Different church with different methods are available so that you can flow well according to your lifestyle, personality, background etc. But we have turned it into competition, such that we want to outshine each other. Even in the Bible, there were different churches na. Church in Corinth was different from the Church of the Thessalonians, etc. God will help us. There are intercessors praying and working to see that all this rubbish stop in the kingdom of God. I celebrate you. |
yemi1261:And that is why you should understand the true meaning of Christianity, stand for it and let others know. Christianity is in Christ, not our different churches or pastors. We have allowed the world to pain another picture of Christianity for us such that we are dependent on our pastors and churches for everything. Meanwhile our dependence should be on Christ. We are called Christians on the virtue of the fact that we have become like Christ, remember what happened at Antioch. In fact, churches existed before the coming of Christ. The thing is Church is a place of fellowship, where believers get the opportunity to meet- it is as simple as that. And this gives opportunity for Christians to give to the Church and the Church give to people. A church is a place you are taught to be a giver and not a receiver. Bearing it in mind that you will get help when you need it. The example of Barnabas in Acts 4 shows a man who gave to church expecting nothing, in fact the people who received from the Church were mostly the poor and widows. And a time came, the people felt like the Apostles were not distributing the things equally then Stephen and others were appointed. It might seem like the Church is not giving, but they are trying their best- you can't deny that. You might say that the church is collecting much from you and giving small, you have to get your mind renewed by the studying of the word of God. While our prosperity is in God, our manifestation is necessarily not just in the church. If we are able to depend on God and not the Church, you can be certain He will make a way for you (through the church or some other means). Tell your friend who needs scholarship to depend on God and seek for divine guidance, it will shock you how the scholarship will happen (Is there anything to hard for God to do). Let me just stop here. |
I am more than dissapointed at your comment here and I am only responding because you are a Christian and a deeper life member. You said what is written in the Post is a lie and that people just post what they don't know about. I feel you have a dislike for Deeper Life Church within you and you have used this chance to make that know. This post is here to encourage Christians and let the world know that no matter how bad we are painted, we are not moved but are dependent on the love of Christ. Just go back and read the post, it doesn't say you don't pay money for retreat, neither does it say Deeper Life feed members for free. It says Deeper Life Church feeds the POOR and uses the time of retreat as a great Avenue for that. I beg you in the name of God to live up as a Christian ensuring that the Gospel is lived and spread to the ends of the earth. Stop the vexing and hatred. yemi1261: |
IGNORANT VOICES FROM HELL! By Leke Beecroft And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 If you are a believer and you are puzzled by the continuing attack against the Church, then you need to learn a few things. However if you are unfazed by it, then you probably have an understanding of the times. Let me make it categorically clear that the Church will NOT lose this battle. Ask Pharaoh... ask Sanballat and Tobias...ask Judas Iscariot...ask Saul (St Paul)...ask the adversaries of Martin Luther...ask those who mocked Seymour....ask those who called Idahosa 'Mushroom Pastor'...ask those who coined the proverb "as poor as a Church rat" ...ask Jim Obazee...and many others. Please join me on this trip...We are obviously in the last days, a time so well spoken about in scriptures. A time for the Rising or Falling of many depending on whichever side of the divide you belong. Jesus referring to this period prophesied: "And because WICKEDNESS shall abound, the love of many will FREEZE (Wax Cold) But he that shall ENDURE unto the END, the same shall be saved. Matthew 24:12-13. We are seeing these today before our very eyes. Where ignorant voices from hell want to hear everything evil happen to the Church and do not wish anything good for the Church. Truly, this desire can NOT be the Gospel. I went back in my thoughts over the years while verifying with facts where memory seemed to fail me and I have brought this list for all to ponder. Let us look at the issues considered good for news and bad for news concerning the Church over the years. The ones considered bad for news are hardly heard while the ones considered good for news almost always go viral. 1. It's time to shake off the distraction. Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the Word of God: whose Faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Hebrews 13:7. For unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with Faith in them that heard it. Hebrews 4:2. |

hakeem4:Those are those days. Better days are here. And that is why everyone needs to support KOWA in elections. Together we can make the difference. |
The 2018 gubernatorial election of our dear state is approaching and it is expedient that we let the people of Osun State know our stand and intentions concerning the election. We like to appreciate and commend the people of Osun State for the endurance they have put up so far. It is true and obvious that nothing really seems to be working in Osun State, which has affected a whole lot of people. But worthy of note is that the true Osun State spirit is in us, which has made us joyful people all the way - The Osun State Spirit that will not give up, the Osun State Spirit that is hopeful that things will get better. Sincerely, better days are coming. As far as the Governorship election is concerned, we will be participating and putting forward a candidate to run for the Governor's office. We understand that some people will be scared and intimidated with this declaration already, it is very normal for them to feel like that. We are heading for this mission with energy and power and we are ready to do everything legally and morally possible to succeed. We know it is not going to be an easy task, but we are all ready for whatever comes up because we carry the Osun State Spirit. We would not be playing games like others, but we will be engaging in the true spirit of politics. Other party have intentions just to hold the office, they really do not know what to do with the office. We are not like that, we are running with a vision. A vision to construct Osun State in order that it may leave the dry places and move to better places - this we hope to achieve by setting our priorities right and attaining them in the best way. Osun State people can be rest assured that we will only present someone who is able and fit for the job. We are not ready to put square pegs in round holes, that is what other parties do and we are not other parties. Transparency is our shield and truth is our sword. We are saying with all confidence that KOWA Party will only present a person of integrity, someone they can hold accountable. We will give Osun State people the very best. We are not ready to win this office in crooked ways - that is not what we represent. We say no to thuggery, ballot snatching, rigging, bribery and all other illegal devices engaged in during election period. We are a transparent party and we know that is what Osun State people want. As time goes on, we will give more insights on what we intend to do. But for now, let everyone hear and let them tell everyone that in 2018, KOWA Party will be contesting for the Governorship election in order to rescue our educational system; improve the health sector; develop agriculture; give infrastructure; empower people; improve the economy and ultimately better the life of Osun State citizens. Long live Osun State. God bless Nigeria. SOURCE: fb.com/kowaosun |

Dedetwo:It is actually quite understandable that the IGBOS want to break off. The Easterners were the only people that fought against British colonization so hard (others did, but not as the Easterners did). The Easterners were actually contended with their life, after Independence the Easterners thought things will be better in their own hands but it seems not to be so. |
SpecialAdviser:With the government and calibre of leaders we have today, if Nigeria breaks, don't you think all the different regions/arms/country will still remain like this. Will the disintegration stop the unserious attitude of leaders? Or will it stop them from being corrupt? Or what do you think will be the benefit? |

Who is a Lawyer? A lawyer is a person who writes a 10,000 word document and calls it a brief. A Professor stepped into a law class and threw an orange at one of his students and said "Give it as a gift to any of your friends now". The boy said to one of his friends: "Tee, I give this orange to you as a gift". The Professor gave him a stern look and said: "Like a lawyer!!!". Immediately, the boy straightened up, cleared his throat and began: "I, Stanley Omerfield, adult, male of M16 Stapley Drive, hereby with all intent and purposes, wilfully give unto you, Messrs Theodore Billings of Creepton Street, this citrus with its skin, seeds, segments, juice and supple innings that you may exercise actual and proprietary rights thereon, to hold unto same as a gift, a bequest, an endowment validly so transferred, given out, bequested, alienated, assigned, that you may eat, lick, devour, suck, make juice out of, munch or grant, give out, devolve, alienate in your rightful capacity as the owner either in actual, virtual or constructive capacity of an agent or attorney as may be chosen by you, that the said citrus may be treated in the aforementioned ways or other ways not so listed but not as a weapon to be thrown at persons or animals with malicious intent to hurt, inflict pain or serve as an incendiary action to incite unrest of any kind, but that the said citrus may be used in such beneficial capacity or simply be destroyed in such exercise of legal and equitable ownership as may be fit by the beneficiary of this bequest".
