WritterNig: ⚡Israel faces a war on five fronts: with Hamas, Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Palestinian militants in the West Bank, - Bild, citing experts from the Middle East center Le Bec.
"Iran and its allies have made the Palestinian issue a pillar of their ideology and therefore cannot simply stand aside." Attacks from Syria or even Iraq and Yemen should not be written off. Israel (believe it or not) refrains from blaming Iran. knowing that this will further back him into a corner and lead to a multilateral war," experts say.
It is argued that Iran has already demonstrated the ability to start a war on multiple fronts. This West should not sugar coat this. This is a war between Palestine and Israel. Hezbollah has not join yet. There has been exchange of fire though. But Hezbollahh has not joined. Palestine, Hezbollah and other militant groups are not peer competitorss to Israel. |

According to Ukrainian government Putin may have ordered the Russian military command to hold all Russia’s initial defensive positions to create the illusion that Ukrainian counteroffensives have not achieved any tactical or operational effects despite substantial Western support. This is very stupid. They are holding the line because they can. It is as simple as that. The strategy is ‘hold the line and inflict as much casualties on the enemy as possible’. |

barojana: It depends on who is fighting a defensive war because Israel has no real capacity to wage offensive war against Russia.
If Russia attacks Israel, it's army could only be deployed via Syria. Egypt, Jordan, are not possible entry points due to treaties signed with Israel. Russia's navy would be deployed from Isreal's western sea front.
Russia's attack from Syria would be utterly difficult. The Israeli have a cutting edge land and airforce force armed with the latest defensive and offensive assets Merkava tanks, Patriot, Arrow3, Arrow2, David Sling, Iron Done, Spike anti armour, trophy protection, Jericho 1,2,3 and a plethora of EW systems. In addition. Importantly, Israel has three squadrons of f35s for air superiority. This would blow out any Russian air asset. In addition to a fleet of f15s with advanced avionics. Plus the Russians would have to spend great time with logistics of airlifting resources into Syria.
The Israelis on the other hand would be fighting on home advantage. It's military is specially built to wage war on the rocky deserts of the middle east. Knowing exactly the route of the Russian army means Israel can extensively lay mines.
On the Syrian front, Israel would destroy Russia.
On a naval front is where Israel would suffer enourmously. Israel is extremely outclassed in naval warfare. I don't see how Israel can successfully ward off a Russian naval assault. Perhaps if it can keep it's submarine fleet functional it could do some deterrence. Nice comment Israelis and Russian military were primarily built to protect their individual territory. Russia got comfortable when her military was modernize and upgraded. She was able to send troops to Syria to wage successful war against Western led coalition groups. The West started paying attention to Russia, when it military turn around the Syrian conflict. At first Russia deployed huge amount of military equipments to Syria with the hope of competing with the West on the battlefield. But the West were not interested in competing with Russia. So Russia had to scale back it capabilities in Ukraine. It troops were downsized after few weeks. Russia was able to perform wonders in Syria. But I don’t think they can do the same with Israel. Israel air force is very strong. It air force will cause a lots of problem for Russia. Russian troops will need massive air defense assets to engage Israel. Although Her group troops are not really good. Israelis forces were bled dry in Lebanon in urban combat by Hebollah fighters. The bottomline is Russia can go on an offensive against Israel, while Israel can not do the same to Russia. Israel can inflict heavy damage on Russia military if Russia is on offensive against Israel. In fact, it will be difficult for Russia to defeat Israel on it soil. If Russia can survive Israel air assault. Then they have a chance. |

Militarily, they have more troops and military equipments (especially aircrafts) than Russia.
So if they fail eventually to push Russian troops out of Donbas and Crimea. Then, it will be a disgrace on their part.

WrriterNig: ⚡Russian attack on 🇸🇪 Sweden 'cannot be ruled out', says defence report.
A Russian military attack against Sweden "cannot be ruled out".
That's the conclusion of a report by the Scandinavian country's parliamentary defence committee, according to public broadcaster SVT.
Citing sources, it says the report - due to be published on Monday - warns 🇷🇺 Moscow may carry out operations "with air forces, naval forces, long-range weapons or nuclear weapons".
"Russia has also further lowered its threshold for the use of military force and exhibits a high political and military risk appetite," it says.
According to SVT, the report also outlines a new defence doctrine for 🇸🇪 Sweden based on membership of NATO. I think these countries are just looking for opportunity to reduce the fund they spend on welfare for their citizens. In other to spend more money on their military. Russia is still struggling in Ukraine. I don't see getting involve in another war at least for the next 8-10 years. Unless if it necessary. |

Ibime: Ukrainians chased Putin from Kiev because they were dug in, he didn't have supply lines nor logistics to feed and fuel his army. His army only actually packed few days food supply as they were expecting a blitzkrieg.
Counteroffensive Vs defending are two different ball games. In Kiev, Ukraine were defending. In counteroffensive, Ukraine's main problem is land mines which force you into a corridor where the enemy will train its fire, so casualty rate is higher till you breach the line.
The Himars and co have chased Russia out of Kharkiv and Kherson before they had a chance to dig in and lay mines everywhere.
And the counteroffensive is only few days old. Don't go singing Victoria like Putards on this very thread were singing in the early days of the offensives against Kharkiv and Kherson. Russia didn't have enough troops in Ukraine at a time when her troops were forced to retreat from Kharkiv. Troops were moved from Kharkiv to Kherson to strengthened the Kherson front. Ukraine found out about the shortage of troops in Kharkiv and they launched counter offensive. The Russian troops in Kahrkiv were not more than 5,000 troops. Ukraine used about 30k troops in it Kharkiv counter offensive. 30k against 5k. HIMARS didn't play any role in the Kharkiv offensive. HIMARS played a role in the Kherson offensive. It was used to destroy the bridge linking east and west Kherson together. This really disrupt Russian logistics. Couple with the Crimea bridge they was damaged at a time. The Russians couldn't sustain the defense of Kherson, and they moved their troops to the other side of Kherson intact. Russia used about 20k troops to seize Mariupol. Ukraine had minimum of 30k troops in Mariupol. They used 30k troops in an attempt to seize Kiev. Imagine the number of troops defending Kiev at a time. Remember also that Ukraine gave fire arms to it citizens to defend Kiev. I don't think Russia wanted to take Kiev (at least not with 30k troops). They want to intimidate and put pressure on Zelensky to surrender. But that didn't work. The troops were insufficient, but they surprised everyone. Because they were closed. They made it to Kiev gate, that was impressive. I don't know what Putin's Gola was in Kiev. But I am 100% that the goal was not to take Kiev. |

Gbadebo19: You are right but the problem is that china and Russia have limited submarines plus the fact that US knows the exact location of their submarines anytime anyday. I got this info too:
The aircraft carrier is vulnerable to gunfire, submarine attack, and air attack, and aircraft carriers have been sunk in this war by all three of these means. There is no excuse for an aircraft carrier being sunk by either gunfire or submarine attack and any carrier so sunk was being very poorly operated at the time Russia has enough submarines to protect it territory. In the wwIi military aircrafts struggle to find aircraft carriers. But nowadays, drones, satellite and surveillance aircraft can find and track aircraft carriers with ease. |

Gbadebo19: My dear, when it comes to war it will not. I am not just hyping the US but if you read about the abilities of these machines, China and Russia are nothing less than 30 years behind. But then, you may be right in your opinion concerning their loss because a defending nation is always at an advantage. But again, the sheer number of these machines operated by US (11 out of 41 in the world and they are spread across every continent) is a very big problem for any country cos you don't know where the next attack will come from. Did I mention that only the US operates nuclear powered aircraft carriers? Those machines can work for 15 years without refueling. The biggest threat to aircraft carriers/battle strike group are missile and submarines. Superpowers like China and Russia have enough missile and submarines to deal with them. They can be tracked and they can be knocked out of operations. |

Gbadebo19: Lmaooo!!!! An aircraft carrier is useless in battle So, you don't know that a destroyer does not even have the ability of an aircraft carrier? China and Russia have various missiles that they can use to destroy the entire US strike group Oh my God!!! We are not talking of Nigerian army here. We are talking about the most experienced and battle tested military on planet earth and you are comparing China, whose army has NOT been battle tested in the last 50 years. The only advantage China has over US is manpower (population) and that is even relatively useless considering the fact that 75% of US citizens know how to use a gun. Please don't say what you just said here in an oratory debate. The US may be able to use it strike group to defend itself. But using them in an offensive against China in South China sea or Russia, will result in the lost of those expensive ships. The US naval power won't make it to the Chinese shore, incase of a war between the two. Likewise if the Chinese navy is on the offensive, her navy won't make it to the US shore/shores. |

Gbadebo19: Of course, they can build their own weapons. The problem is that they are yet to reach the level of technology of US. Thus, their weapons always remain inferior to US. Let me burst your bubble. It is not just by building the biggest nonsense military hardware, it is by building the most effective. China unveiled its aircraft carrier about two or three years ago with amazing abilities but the fact remains that stuff is still inferior to the US Nimitz class that were built in 1975, talk less of the USS Gerald Ford. No country except US has been able to build a NUCLEAR POWERED aircraft carrier. If you know the advantage that it gives, you won't compare US military technology with Chinese rust machine. Let me tell you one: A nuclear powered aircraft carrier can stay in operation for up to 15 years without needing to refuel. All that is needed will be food for those operating it. Compare that with Chinese nonsense and you will see that it does not stand a chance with a military technology built in 1975. All that is needed to ground that Chinese rust is to destroy its supply chain and then it stops working when fuel finishes. I hope you can see why US is a second to none when it comes to military technology. The US most expensive weapon (aircraft carriers) are useless against Russia and China. It can be used against Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and the likes. But not against other super power/powers. Russia and China have varieties of missiles that they can use to destroy the entire US strike group. In a world war, missiles and submarines will play the major role. The billion dollar Zumwalt destroyer and other very expensive US weapon may not see battle. A new world war is going to be a missile war. Nothing more and nothing less. This is the reason Russia invests more on defense systems. The US on the other side invests heavily on offensive weapon, strictly because it wants to be able to project power outside it territory. Majority of those weapons will not see battle in a new world war. |
