On the issue of being a lagosian igbo(wat a silly expression) yes obviously. And @ Afam4eva if you dont equate lagos with Yoruba, wat do you then equate it with? Igbo? Hausa? |

YourFather: Because we have a messed up mentality that blinds up from realizing that we can be better by making ourself and others around us better. Instead we preffer to take the cheap road of associating our self worth to how many non Nigerian influences we have access to.
This is the same reason Nigeria is where it is today, we have bad roads, but we drive German Jeeps, but hold on German roads are one of the best in the world. When we decide to build the road, we call a German company, Hello, Nigerians can't build roads?
On Nairaland now, everyone wants you to know TuFace has a joint with R Kelly, so?!! Is the point not to have a GOOD song, should we care its with R Kelly? No, but we do.
Until we realize that by empowering ourselves we ain't going anywhere fast. If THIS DAY invest 10% of the money spent on this event on Nigeria acts, the acts get paid, the record company benefits, the producer get paid, the PA can do her job and get paid, but we all prefer to make J-Zay richier so we can come back on Nairaland and talk about the cars he has, And Nduka can tell anyone that cares to listen that he as hung out with the best rapper in the world. Question: Name one venue in Lagos, that can comfortable sit 10,000people?
Not one, Not one, world class venue do we have in Lagos, Not one, zip, nish, NULL!!!! LOL!!, So true. |

Mostly corrections realy. And just for that feeble attempt at mockery u receive a another dose of correction,
1. Its make conversation not 'make conversations', conversation is already plural 2. And again its not shoprite but the palms,
And so ends ur class Magentam. You're welcome. |

Again pls, all you pple should get your information right. Silverbird galleria is different from silverbird cinema. The cinema is located at the top floor in the galleria. There are over 20 stores, businesses, bars and chill out joints in the galleria. Many people go to the galleria other than to watch movies. I cant even remember the last time i watched a movie there, but it does have nice places to hang out there. |

Abegi its called the Palms shopping mall not shoprite. Shoprite is a store in the Palms. Calling the mall shoprite is like calling every mall you visit in yankee a Macy's. Get it right next time. |
Politics › Re: Lagos Politics And Religion by OluToye: 8:05am On Apr 15, 2008 |
Needlelady: That is a blatant lie. There are more lagosians that practice the true religion than those that practice the great religion. Don't confuse a 'Lagos person' with a Lagosian. There are many yoruba's that practice christiani*ty in lagos, but they all come from different states. I still say that most 'Lagosians'(pple who's ancestry can be traced to lagos) are mostly muslims. Are you a 'lagosian'? |
Politics › Re: Lagos Politics And Religion by OluToye: 7:52am On Apr 15, 2008 |
Needlelady: I'm sorry I can't help you any further when you even find it difficult to decipher the elected ones and imposed ones. And you fail to understand that alot of lagosians are m*uslims. No one is imposing nor creating an 'Only musli*m' political class. |
Politics › Re: Lagos Politics And Religion by OluToye: 7:43am On Apr 15, 2008 |
Looking for fire where there's none. I was born and bred in lagos state and it was never an issue. They might be Musli*s but thats again because of the demography. There is no pro-musli* or anti-christian clique in Lagos. |
Politics › Re: Lagos Politics And Religion by OluToye: 11:13pm On Apr 13, 2008 |
Needlelady: How did you come by this conclusion? More yoruba great ones are from Oyo state and parts of the yoruba kwara. I think christians and a great one lagos indigenes equate each other but there seems to be a power shift. Came to the conclusion because i've met many lagosians who are muslims. And quite a number of the christian lagosians were once muslims( at least the ones i'm familiar with i.e my mum's family). About Oyo, not too sure about that. Can someone explain the significance of 'Great Ones'? |

Politics › Re: Lagos Politics And Religion by OluToye: 10:56pm On Apr 13, 2008 |
Just realised something: Any time i write 'Muslims', the forum calls it "the great ones". It will probably happen again after i post this.
Explains alot of the things i've read on nairaland, |
Politics › Re: Lagos Politics And Religion by OluToye: 10:50pm On Apr 13, 2008 |
Quite(maybe an understatement, majority of them are) a number of Yoruba lagosians are muslims, more so than in any other yoruba state( Kwara might be an exception though). It is only natural that this reflects in the politicalappointments in the state. |
