Shut up there and stop misleading people, who told said you can't pay the price to recover your favour and blessings, look into your Bible you will see that most answered prayers were as a result of sacrifice, the Bible records that a man's wealth(money)maketh way for him. Ask hannah, ask esther, shimmamite woman to name a few.

So in your own version of the bible, Mary paid to give birth to Jesus...

Ozegbe: I’m sickened by all religions. Religion has divided people. I don’t think there’s any difference between the pope wearing a large hat and parading around with a smoking purse and an African painting his face white and praying to a rock.

You mean you are bitter with religion.

Christianity is not about religion so get your facts right. If you know the true God of heaven, you will feel differently.

You are what you believe. You made your choice to follow religion rather than Christ so expect to be double frustrated.

Ozegbe: my problem has always been the fragmentation in church.....
One bible, different translations, different churches, different doctrines. Well, if God is willing to burn 5 billion souls in hell, including Bill gates, Albert Einstein among others who have contributed so much to the world of humanity, then hell will be better place to be.My conclusion of this God or no God issue is that, May God existed before but has now lost touch with the world.

God is who He is whether you acknowledge Him or not.

The mistake people make is they try and prove His existence using the knowledge of the world. No one and I mean no one can unravel or understand the mystery of God.

Stop wasting your time .

sossesam: Firstly, love is not an emotion it is a duty. Love is not about feelings its about responsibility. You can love as many times as possible. Only the rate of attraction differs. And our attractions decides our decisions most times. Love is a big word and is mistaken for attraction. Sorry but I no prepare for lecturing today. Just needed to make dat fact clear.

Nonsense!

I don't want to be loved by someone under a sense of duty.

Love gives you the right to be free. Why love becos you feel you need to?

When u love wholeheartedly there is no control...u can't wave a magic wand and it disappears. U can pretend and put up a front wit others yes, but the feelings can't b coontrolled.....and there is always that "special one" that stands out from the rest....the one u won't forget.

We are talking about romantic or erotic love here, and not filial nor agape. So what's chemical about the addiction? Any chemical elements or compounds involved? grin

Anger is an emotion, can it be controlled? Yes, it can. Even if you're not angry, can you act as though you were angry? Yes! In other words, love as an emotion can be controlled.

BTW, its nice to see this making front page... cheesy

Love is an emotion of a strong affection and personal attachment. Its not physical .

Please can you control "strong affection"?

If you can control it, you are not yet deeply in love. Or should I say you have not lost yourself to the total abandoness of your feelings to that person.

Like I said before, love is abstract! It's a state of mind that you attain over a period of time!

Erich Fromm (1956) in his famous treatise (The Art of Loving), noted the sad consequence of this misconception:
""There is hardly any activity, any enterprise, which is started with such tremendous hopes and expectations, and yet, which fails so regularly, as love."

(chances are he'd be even more pessimistic today.)

In my opinion, real, lasting Love is an endearment that results from deeply appreciating another's goodness. That's why most women think there is no love in the dictionary of an African man.

According to my gran, most African men tend to have affairs when they have attained a higher position of comfort in their lifestyle . It seems they are likely to be more faithful when they are penniless and rely on the goodness of their partner to sustain them.

Statistics today supports her notion!

Love comes in different forms.

Romantic love both exhilarates and motivates us. It is also critical to the continuation of our species. Without the attachment of romantic love, we would live in an entirely different society . So in a sense, love really is a chemical addiction.

Love is an emotion . There are times it cannot be controlled. You can manage it but cannot control it.

Hmm, maybe in truth, there's no such thing as one true love. But i think love is a decision you make and decide to stick to, come what may.

Confused!

You can make a decision to love and stay in a marriage but how can you make a decision to love and stay in love.

googles: You can love as many times as possible I have come to learn. No such thing as "one true love"

Too many times is probably an infatuation . You can have a deep love for someone such that forever you have that bonding with them.

There is always that special love that shines above the rest !

Love is not stagnant. It's constantly changing as people change and at any one point in time the emotions will float between :

Love...........and/or........... Hate

It is written in the body of the law of the country. If you do the crime, be prepared for the consequences.

What is harsh about it? This is not Nigeria where the law is never enforced.

You are brainless and conceited. You lack insight and so that removes any hope of palliation. You are an obnoxious irritating little twit and would cause general relief and jubilation if you disapppeared never to be seen again

crackhaus: This message goes out to HOLLANDIS & Co.(You know yourself), why are you on this forum if you find your motherland & its people sickening? You have left the only country on earth that will accept you for you to be a 2nd class citizen in another country(mind you, there's no way on earth you'll ever be considered a 1st class citizen in your country of residence as long as your skin tone remains negro). Why do you feel the need to elevate yourself by calling africans/nigerians names? Is it that you suffer from so much low self-esteem? Yes, we got issues as a country but people like you should stay out of it if you're so angered and bitter about it. Please tell me the picture on your profile is not you cos if it is, I am sorely disappointed in you for your vile tongue and bad attitude. If the picture isn't really you, then I guess I'm right that you do suffer from low self-esteem...

Your name should be crackhead! grin

Intolerance is a prevalent disease on NL .

This is an international forum. Let people express themselves freely within reason.

Differences in opinion is what makes NL interesting. Lets enjoy it and not take comments personally.
