Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) is a bacterial infection.it is not easily treated because it is resistant to antibiotics and many drug used against it.it is a common species of bacterium found on the skin and nose.it result in infection causing pimples,boils and minor skin infection.it could also cause dangerous health challenges like pneumonia,meningitis,heart disease and food poisoning.its death toll is said to be greater. AIDS,tuberculosis and hepatitis B. MRSA is described as a super bug,it has the ability to spread,inhabit a host and cause disease.it is transmitted by people that have weak immune system,open wound. This bacterial reproduce by binary fission in which the DNA of the cell replicate and attach it self onto the cell membrane.this bacterial carry gene encoding penicillin,ot breaks down penicillin and prevent it from killing the staphylococcus aureus bacteria.t hey do this Because they have the ability to modify their DNA by mutation or by acquisition of DNA from other bacteria.T he outbreak of MRSA can be epidemic l.e small scale or pandemic(large scale).it can be prevented by good hygienic system around hospitals or anywhere most likely to have MRSA,people going into hospital are cautioned to take precaution by washing there hands regularly with alcohol based gels which is effective in killing microorganisms than soap,staffs are to maintain a good standard of hygiene and to wear glove when they are in contact of patients mostly those with open wounds,keep the hospital clean and dry,avoid contact with patients especially of they have open wounds. Another way to stop MRSA from spreading is by doing MRSA screening. Above all better surveillance,early diagnosis and educating the patient and hospital staff is the only precaution that can prevent the transmission of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus
