Politics / My Experience At The UNCSW63 - Betty-anyanwu Akeredolu by Oluwamarc(m): 3:23pm On Apr 04, 2019
KEY NOTE ADDRESS BY HER EXCELLENCY ARABINRIN BETTY ANYANWU-AKEREDOLU AT THE STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON 63RD SESSION OF UN COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN (UNCSW63) HELD AT AKURE, ONDO STATE ON 4TH APRIL, 2019.
1. Protocols
2. To base my address on my experience at the UNCSW63
3. UNCSW63 was an event that brought together participants from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences and see how we could collectively improve our strides for gender equality.
This year’s 63rd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW63), the UN’s largest gathering on gender equality, took place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 11 – 22 March 2019. It focused on the theme, “Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls”.
4. A first-timer. Amazing experience and an eye-opener: Nigerians everywhere but not together due to lack of coordination. Present were: minister for women affairs, at least 5 first ladies of different states attended but I only met Mrs. Ambode on the queue. No preferential treatment for first lady there o! it was a very long queue. Spent over one hour before entering the registration room. While in the queue on the street i could chat on my whatsapp through free Wifi. Had one on one interaction with many Nigerian NGOs who attended my two presentations and at the cafeteria. The town hall with Sec. Gen. where countries with cohesion sang together brought to the fore the need for some coordination among Nigeria delegates at subsequent UN CSW.
5. Recommendation: Fed. Ministry of Women Affairs should have a desk officer provided with a computer/laptop, create a portal on Federal ministry of Women Affairs website for participants to submit a biosketch. Information is shared and those who are attending network among themselves, know their levels of participation- e.g. presentations at the general assembly or side events. So we get prepared and support each at such international forum. I hope to communicate my view to the ministry. In addition, it would be nice for the Nigerian embassy to host Nigerian participants to a cocktail or dinner. That's what other countries do to their nationals which elicits a sense of pride and patriotism. I expect no less from our embassies. Look forward to a coordinated Nigerian delegation to UNCSW64. Nigerians are there every year in large numbers. Lagos state delegation has been going for over 5 years with the state sponsoring civil servants and women led NGOs. Learned that the Lagos delegation at UNCSW63 could be up to 30 led by their 1st lady. I didn't waste time telling Arakunrin what I was seeing. Interestingly, I am aware that participants from Ondo State had participated in this meeting in the past but failed to share their experiences publicly.
6. My advice: is that when we have the rare privilege to attend such international meetings like UNCSW, and having been sponsored by government, we owe this country a duty to share information and knowledge for the benefit of the country and in the case of CSW, for the advancement of our women. The highest most civil servants do is to write a report, with file dumped on shelf and contents are never disseminated. A forum such as this where experiences and knowledge are shared after participating at international meetings must be encouraged and even made compulsory. An undertaking to share experience and knowledge must be signed before travelling is approved.
7. # My take home from UNCSW63:
7.1. On gender violence:
* UN women created a committee of experts on sexual harassment to deal directly with such cases thereby bypassing the bureaucratic bottleneck of the system
*The #metoo movement has given women a voice globally to kick against sexual harassment especially at work places
* "Boys will always be boys" is no longer acceptable
* Let's stop blaming the victim of rape
* Our society must to learn to accept NO! when a girl says NO! to sexual advances.
* Mothers must review how we raise our sons to respect and appreciate womanhood
7.2. On menstrual hygiene:
*Provision of WASH facilities in school is an essential commodity. The lack of infrastructure negatively impacts on the Girl-child education because she skips classes during her menses.
*Teenagers from poor families cannot afford sanitary pads. I did tweet: "Condoms are given free of charge. Sanitary pads are not. What is #OurPriorityInNigeria".
7.3. On ICT & Solar Technology:
* ICT is gender neutral. Let's encourage STEM in our girls and groom them to become technology leaders. It is doable. We have proved that in Ondo State with BEMORE summer Bootcamp 4 Girls Naija. We have proved that girls can #BEMORE than what the society ascribes them to be. We have measurable outcomes: #BEMORE girl Marvelous Jegede a 14 year school girl from Arigidi successfully installed solar panels to light up her home after two years in darkness. #BEMORE girl Tolu Ehinmosan former student of Stella Maris Okitipupa now first year student of computer engineering at Unilag built solar oven which she donated to the home economics dept of her school. She represented Ondo State with the nomination of our Solar for girls initiative at the Global Energy Awards held in Iran.
* Presently, four of #BEMORE girls present at this meeting (please stand up for recognition) are being groomed to compete for the Tec novation challenge holding at Silicone valley, California, USA. They are developing an app to solve identified in their environment a problem under the tutelage of our dependable partner Seed4DEV represented here by Kitan David. I wish them well.
7.4. On power balance at home, work and in governance:
* My favourite quote “Power is not given, power is taken” – UN. Sec. Gen.
* Female heads of states shared their experiences. Eastern Europe has a fair share of Presidents and Prime ministers.
* That we need more women at the decision making tables cannot be overemphasized.
*Here in Nigeria, we are embarrassingly too few considering our population and the fact that more women come out to vote. So we have the voting power. Let's use it and put more women in the legislative houses and in position of authority.
7.5. On economic empowerment:
* Economic empowerment brings about knowledge, financial stability and self-worth and gives a woman confidence. Concerted effort by government to encourage women engage in productive ventures that are women-friendly such as farming and agro allied business, cottage industries, trading, ICT and other skills acquisitions relevant to their immediate environment. Create access to micro credit. FOWOSO is paving the way. The impact is evidence based with measurable outcomes. Empowered over 2000 women and youth. Free medical services at all FOWOSO empowerment outreaches together with Breast Cancer awareness to over 20,000 people in the 18 local governments’ areas. Ondo State government has been a dependable ally in this regard and greatly appreciated for its supportive role.
7.6. Backward never:
Let me reiterate here that any government that is serious about uplifting her women from obscurity, ignorance and poverty must endeavour to provide the opportunity for them to participate in the annual UNCSW. It is a global gathering of women like no other. The exposure was fantastic. You need to experience the moment Ondo State women must not be left behind. Thank you.

A private firm, the Crown Refinery and Petrochemical Limited, on Wednesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ondo State Government on the establishment of a $500m modular refinery in the state.

The MoU was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Sunday Abegunde, and the representatives of the company.

The company’s major business is the refining of crude oil into petroleum products, and it had expressed its readiness to do business in Ondo State.

Receiving the signed documents from the SSG, the Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, said the government would create an enabling environment to ensure the successful completion of the project.

According to the governor, the door of the state is open to all genuine investors to do business with it, and his administration is committed to making the state a business hub for investors.

He said, “Ondo State is safe for investors; we will do everything to ensure that this project is successful.

“Ondo State is strategically positioned among the Niger Delta states and Lagos State, which is the nation’s economic nerve centre, to make all business-minded investors reap bountifully on their investments in the state.”

He commended Crown Refinery and Petrochemical for coming on board at this time to be a worthy partner with the government and assured the company and its partners a second-to-none atmosphere for their business deals in the state.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Crown Refinery and Petrochemical, Mr Kassim Adeleke, said the company had, before now, approached some states for the establishment of the project but was not welcomed.

He said in Ondo State, he found professionalism, swift decision-making, friendly communities and passion, such that in less than one year of opening talks with the state government, the coast had been clear for the commencement of the landmark project.

According to him, the proposed project will have an initial capacity to refine about 30,000 barrels per stream day but would later be scaled to 60,000 bpsd within the next five years, and it is expected to be completed within 36 months.

Adeleye said, “We are going into the business of refining crude oil; the government of Ondo State would provide the enabling environment and incentives to support us as we actualise this vital investment.

“Apart from the project having the capacity to refine crude oil, it will also be producing 120,000 tons of base oil and 25,000 tons of lubrication oil on a yearly basis.

“The company will also be providing several infrastructural projects in the states and would create about 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities for indigenes of the state.”

Celebrities / I’ll Make A Scapegoat Of Lil Kesh – Eleyele by Oluwamarc(m): 7:06am On Mar 31, 2019
Gospel singer, Busola Oke, aka Eleyele, is not pleased with secular artiste, Keshinro Ololade, popularly known as Lil Kesh, and she is not hesitant in making it known.
Oke has alleged that Ololade infringed on her copyright with the release of his song, Undertaker . Eleyele stated that elements of her 15-year-old eponymous single were used in Lil Kesh’s song which was released on February 29.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop , Eleyele fumed that she would make a scapegoat of Lil Kesh. She said, “His manager called me and told me they wanted to use my song and I told them I didn’t understand. I told them that they should discuss whatever they wanted with my lawyer. Later, my lawyer told me that they had called him and that he told them not to use the song. A week later, Lil Kesh’s song was released. I think they had already used the song before they called us. We have been trying to reach him since then. My lawyer wrote to them stating that we were ready to go to court, but we couldn’t find his office address; so, we had to post the letter on social media. Maybe he thinks I’m an illiterate that cannot do anything.”
Decrying the lack of respect artistes have for intellectual property, Eleyele said, “I feel very bad about it because it is getting too common. I think that’s what is in vogue now. But I’m going to end it. I will use Lil Kesh as a scapegoat; I will accept nothing but justice. He will meet me in court.”
Meanwhile, calls put through to Lil Kesh’s management team were not answered, neither were messages replied as of the time of filing this report on Saturday.

Receiving the leadership of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), led by Mr Obafemi Onashile, President Buhari, again, thanked Nigerians for clearly expressing their desire to move the nation forward.

‘‘Let me start by thanking you for your kind prayers,’’ the President told members of the Institute, who came to congratulate him on his re-election and pledge their solidarity with his administration.

‘‘Nigerians have clearly spoken of their desire for the country to move forward. On our part, we remain committed to the Change Agenda. By the grace of God, and with your continued prayers and support, the dark days of impunity are gone for good,’’ he added.

President Buhari used the occasion to highlight the administration’s achievements in stimulating the economy in the past three years, noting that growing the nation’s economy means ‘‘national growth must impact the silent majority.’’

‘‘This is why in the past three years; we focused on key job-creating sectors such as agriculture and infrastructure development.

‘‘You will all recall that our agriculture and infrastructure programmes contributed to our exit from recession. This is a clear example of how, if we push 'inclusive' job-creating policies, growth will follow.

‘‘We will remain committed to these and other programmes to ensure the success of our nation is felt by the majority of Nigerians,’’ he said.

On the incessant building collapses across the country, the President warned that those responsible for such incidents of professional negligence will feel the full wrath of the law.

He told members of the Institute that the recent tragic incident in Lagos, and many others across the country, were reminder of the need to strictly adhere to quality standards on construction projects.

‘‘Young innocent lives must never be lost due to incompetence and greed. Simply put, no corners must be cut. I want to assure you that those responsible for such incidents of professional negligence will feel the full wrath of the law,’’ he said.

The President welcomed recommendations and suggestions from the Institute on how to enhance the construction industry, directing that they make a formal submission to the Minister of Power, Works and Housing as soon as possible.

In his presentation, the President of NIQS, Onashile appealed to the Federal Government to create a Directorate of Quantity Surveying and Projects Costs Management to address the issue of unclear delineation of professional functions amongst construction professions within the Government.

Onashile also made a case for Quantity Surveyors to be mandated and allowed to undertake cost management of projects of all forms on behalf of Government, among others.

The Institute while congratulating the President on his well-deserved re-election, expressed its support and ‘‘total confidence in his administration and leadership direction which have brought hope, progress and stability to Nigeria.’’

A highpoint of the visit was the conferment of the Fellowship Grade of the NIQS-the highest cadre of membership- on President Buhari. The President was also honoured with the ‘‘Life Champion of Anti-Corruption Crusade in Nigeria’’ Award.

Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has said birth registration certificate would soon be a prerequisite for the registration of pupils into public primary schools in the state.

He said the birth registration certificate will also serve as ease of access for Children under the age of Five who are included in the free health care services of the state government.

Governor Akeredolu described the move as part of the efforts to collaborate with the Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu Foundation towards a better birth registration in the state.

The governor spoke at the one day stakeholders summit on Birth Registration in the state held at the International Culture and Events Center (DOME), Igbatoro Road, Akure.

Governor Akeredolu said correct birth registration will help the government plan for the future of the children and also engender development in the state.

He said :” Let me congratulate Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu Foundation for putting this together. I want to believe that as the UNICEF has rightly scored , this initiative is a great one and greatly appreciated

“I listened to the NPC and everyone who has spoken about this inalienable right of our children, the right to identity. The need for planning. The two work together . If we do not have good birth registration we can’t plan properly.

“One thing that’s very clear is that the government can not do it alone. Hence, the initiative of BAAF must be recognized and applauded. We must find of way of to collaborate with the foundation

“As a government I believe that part of our collaboration will be to have a policy statement. The time has come for all our children to have birth registration certificate before registration in our primary Schools

“Under our health policy, children under 5 are treated free of charge, we must insist that our children must have birth registration certificate or they are issued one at the hospital. As a government, it is important for us to assist, because this birth registration will help us in planning. For us to plan, we need to have correct figures and our population. We will henceforth encourage BAAF. “

Agriculture / Ondo Rice Farmers To Get Mills by Oluwamarc(m): 9:54am On Mar 27, 2019
The Chairman of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria RIFAN, Ondo State chapter, Prince George Oladapo has said that for the silos in Oda road to be fully utilised, there must be enough functional mills for the various commodities they are meant for.

Oladapo who said this in an interview with The Hope noted that the silos are of immense benefit to farmers in the state.

He said a bigger capacity milling machine for rice farmers will be ready this year at Igbara Oke and milling will start, so that the silos can be fully engaged

According to him, what is produced now is not enough for home consumption let alone storage, hence the need for a large and functional mill.

Oladapo stressed that the output of farmers would be greatly increased with large milling factories since they know that the problem of wastage is no longer there.

”Part of those things working against farmers from producing in large quantities is where to store it, supposing I can sell off what I produce, when we picked interest in rice production, we realised that there would be a reason for us to utilise the silos and store for the next season.

“Other farmers are taken advantage of it. If rice farmers are not using it this year, maize farmers can utilize it, cassava farmers can store garri. So by and large the silos have been of immense benefit to farmers in the state. Even the Federal Government sometimes makes use of it by storing grains and for other uses”, he said.

While saying that farmers have continued to increase their out put annually because of assurance of a place to store it, Oladapo said more people particularly youths are getting interested in rice cultivation, which he opined is better than civil service jobs.

When asked about the mill at Layere in Ogbese in Akure North local government, Oladapo said the capacity can not even take care of home consumption.

“The rice mill in Ogbese is a mini one of about 15tonnes per day, it can not even take care of home consumption, let alone preservation, but a bigger mill will be ready in Igbara Oke before the end of the year and the silos will be fully engaged”, he explained.

He called on the government to sustain the association and give them a level playing ground, will become accessible so that most of the things that are difficult for them to access will be easier.

The silos constructed long ago have not been put to use until recently.

Crime / Ondo State Government Set Up Taskforce To Curb Human Trafficking by Oluwamarc(m): 1:53pm On Mar 26, 2019
As part of the efforts to fight human trafficking in Ondo State, the State Government, in partnership with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) on Tuesday set up a Taskforce committee.

The committee is chaired by the State Attoney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adekola Olawoye and Co-chaired by the Zonal Commandant of NAPTIP, Mrs. Kehinde Akomolafe.

Members of the taskforce are drawn from a wide spectrum of key stakeholders in the state, including state government officials, law enforcement agencies, the traditional institution, community and opinion leaders, religious leaders, transport owners and workers, women and youth groups as well as other civil society and community based organisations.

Addressing the committee members, the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, described human trafficking as a modern form of slavery which he said is criminal and also against the will of God.

Akeredolu, represented by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, lauded NAPTIP for taking the bold step to set up the state Taskforce across the country.

He added that he believed the gesture will go a long way to open the eyes and minds of the populace to the inherent dangers in committing their lives to agent of darkness pretending to help them seek greener pastures outside the country.

The Governor lamented that the youths are the most vulnerable as they are often recruited unknowingly to become slaves and prostitutes once they are outside the shores of the country.

"The gory tale we get from individuals who have been victims of human trafficking about the indignity and deprivation they suffer should be eye openers to our youths who are still being deceived that the pasture is greener in those countries that provide the environment for the illicit trade to thrive.

"It is worrisome to note that the name of the country has been dragged in the mud by unscrupulous element through their nefarious activities in human trafficking.

"Aside focusing on trafficking of persons to overseas countries, efforts should also be made to look inwards as incidences of human trafficking abound within the country" Akeredolu said.

The Governor charged the taskforce team to direct its effort towards discouraging people from going into the journey of unknown while those already trafficked victims should be rescued and rehabilitated accordingly.

On her part, the Director-General of NAPTIP Dame Julie Okah-Donli said the purpose for the setting up of the taskforce was premised on the need to enhance state and non-state multi sectoral response towards combating human trafficking in Nigeria.

According to her, members of the committee are expected to develop strategies and state action plans on counter-trafficking issues. Carry out programmes for effective reintegration of trafficked victims into the society. Work with state Ministry of Justice on how to protect, assist and provide access to justice for victims of Trafficking.

“Commercial motorcyclists popularly known as Okada capitalised on the bad road to exploit people in the area who had no choice due to the limited number of Okada riders who managed to ply the Abusoro road but now, the story is different because the road had been fixed. So we really commend the Governor for paying salaries as and when due.
“I also want to appreciate Governor Akeredolu’s wife for her efforts at improving women standard of living in the state through her various skill acquisitions and empowerment programmes. She believes that women can do more if given the opportunity and financial assistance. Politics / Arakunrin Akeredolu Makes Giants Strides Admist Bad Press by Oluwamarc(m): 1:16pm On Mar 21, 2019
Written By Amudipe Opeyemi Marcus
Edited By Seyi ‘Mutumina’ Fasegha
Propagandas, sentiment and bad press are features that cannot be ignored, when it comes to the art of politics.
Against the objective definition of politics, the active bad blood and archrivals of the struggle for a true and progressive democratic system necessary for good governance has chosen to see politics in its true beauty but has instead chosen to coin new realities to its functions.
To them, the word politics is an archaic word in their realms, ‘POLITRICKS’ is the new cool, the mantra of their dealings, the mace of their internal workings.
The beauty and essence of good and progressive governance through a healthy politics seems a lost feature in their garrulous thought structure. And just like the lost city of Atlantis, their road to redemption might just be lost forever, buried under the seas.
The old weary but distinct voice of my grandmother still echoes behind the thin walls that enclose my mind, her tales of Ijapa, who the white man will called tortoise a prominent figure in her moon light tales.
Tortoise by all definition is a good representation of everything POLITRICKS in the discourse of our new age realities. Who does not know of the witty old bald hard-shelled fellow with a rich mind defined by everything cunning.
When he says, ‘Let us go’ speak to your heels without the slightest hesitation; less doom awaits you on the road. Adherent literature cum folklore lovers will find it no herculean task to know the end of the cunning and trickster called Tortoise in all his adventures.
Let me not bore you further my short reminisce of my Grandmother old tales, girdle your loins as I strike iron while its hot, less I put my anvil to shame.
It is undisputed that Ondo State from its inception has been blessed with amazing and credible figures who has graced the political scene of the state. In each of their odysseys as political figures, the road was never smooth for them, and uneasy was the crown on their head. Bad press, Propagandas and sentiments came into play, attempting to mar everything they have worked for in the growth and development of the State, but then, their sheer will and determination to see the state progress saw them trump their travails. Today we celebrate them, knowing fully well of their toils and travails, Just as we are witnessing right now.
After such a long time in the socio-political history of the state, a new ray of hope did arose in the form of a man whose sheer will and commitment to the betterment of the state fortune is unrivalled. A silent achiever who has dutifully worked his way into the heart of the good people of Ondo State, while others make noise over little strides, he silently continue to dispatch his duties, taking fulfilment and joy in putting smiles on the faces of the citizenry. Unlike the tortoise, he stays true to his words.
As stated in his inauguration speech on the 24th Of February 2017, ‘THE JOURNEY TO REDEMPTION’, Arakunrin Akeredolu has fastidiously held strong to the blueprint of his plan for Ondo State, which is anchored on the five cardinal programs, popularly known as our Platform For Change[JMPPR]. The present day new-look Ondo State is an evidence of his stand on keeping to the master plan.
Civil servants in the state need not worry about the payment of their monthly salaries.
The massive infrastructural development in the states, which has seen to the completion of many road projects in the state.
Opening of dead ends and inaccessible communities to the world; improved healthcare service delivery; and the tremendous move aimed at industrializing the state, by harnessing both the human and mineral resources available at the grassroots for even development.
Several schemes are being put in place daily to deemphasize white-collar jobs through Entrepreneurship training and development.
It is amazing to see how far Ondo State has progressed in just two years, thanks to a man who has chosen not to go by the way of the new age POLITRICKSTERS, who has chosen to ignore the bad press and propagandas that is often attached to his good thoughts and intention for the people of Ondo State.
Arakunrin Akeredolu has shown a high sense of mental strength in dealing with the constant attacks and negative press often thrown his ways, and has instead channeled his strength , time and resources to a more nobler act.

Politics / ODSG Stands By Kunle Adebayo by Oluwamarc(m): 10:21am On Mar 21, 2019
PRESS RELEASE
A campaign of calumny, maliciously peddled with relentless vigour, against the person of Mr Kunle Adebayo, the Senior Special Assistant, Research and Documentation, and the Chairman, OSRC/Orange FM, has caught the attention of the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi, SAN.
Some mischievous elements twist facts and disseminate falsehood to mask the dark intentions of their sponsors. The constant attacks on the person of Mr Adebayo has reinforced the confidence of the Government in his diligence, firmness and focus. The recent history and the current state of the two State-owned media organizations, currently under his able supervision, attests, eloquently, to the nature of his intervention.
The people of Ondo state are invited to cast their minds back to the inglorious era of incompetence, gross indiscipline and patent fraud which characterized the operations of these two media organisations. It is impossible for any honest person, who witnessed these deplorable acts of irresponsibility, to be deceived by the orchestrated noises devised to achieve a barely disguised end.
These media outfits were run aground by incompetent elements who harboured a curious sense of entitlement, despite manifest shortcomings. There was virtually no visible legacy of pride other than pervasive decadence. This was the state of affairs when the Governor appointed Mr Kunle Adebayo to oversee the organisations. The success story of the place cannot be written without an enviable mention of the name of this person.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Government of Ondo State will continue to support these media outfits and this outstanding performer to discharge his duties to the people of the State, in the same office, with its active encouragement. It is the most feasible path of decency to tread and we will proceed with courage.
While it is important to reiterate that any staff who merits promotion and support should have nothing to fear, this Government will not fail to sanction, firmly and promptly, any errant interloper deluded to believe in the possibility of employing the instrument of mischief to create disaffection in that establishment.

At Igbekebo and Igbokoda the headquarters of Ese- Odo and Ilaje Local Government Areas respectively, the accolades and warm reception didn’t dwindled in spite of the scorching sun.
The people love to see the Governor, not necessarily because of his clean-shaven white handlebars beard. But because Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN has turned Ondo state to one huge construction site. For instance, in the Southern District the ongoing construction of Ore flyover interchange bridge, the 12 kilometer Okitipupa /Igbokoda bypass and many more, all testifying to the singular fact that the Governor is relentless in his pursuit to transform the State.
Although, the Governor statewide tour was tagged a ” Thank You Visit ” it wears the significance of three togas. The visit provides an ample opportunity for Mr Governor to interact with the people -to say thank you for your supports. Not only that, Governor Akeredolu again has the chance to feel his people- their pains and gains
Extemporaneously, too, it presents an opportunity for Mr Governor on one hand to give account of stewardship and the people on the other hand an instant feedback. We saw yesterday, the Governor highlighted projects executed in the various domains visited and the people’s confirmation or observation.
Since assumption of office on 24th February, 2017, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has seen the state as one and thus treated it so. In other words, no part of the state has been neglected so far. The visit provides yet another moment to take midterm assessment of the social contract, vis-a-vis his performance, in terms of projects execution and good governance.
Most importantly, the Governor is at liberty to juxtapose progress reports on files and what is obtainable on sites. Further more, Governor Akeredolu will take a grandstanding areal view of the State as a whole. As the Governor and his entourage move from one Local Government Area to another he’s also on inspection tour of ongoing various projects awarded by his administration. He monitors the quality of jobs and its progress simultaneously.
The statewide tour of Governor Akeredolu is a win-win as it provides an ample opportunity for the people to point out areas where the Governor has faltered and applaud him where he has excelled, so far the approval rating is overwhelming.
