At the age of 25, Alexandr Wang, the co-owner of Scale AI, became the youngest self-made billionaire in the world. While he is ranked third on the list of youngest billionaires, he stands out from the other two, who inherited their wealth. Dropping out of one of the most prestigious tech schools in the country, Wang’s success can be attributed to his intellect, timing, and risk-taking. From a young age, Wang excelled in mathematics and coding. By the age of 17, he had already landed a coding job at Quora, the leading question-and-answer site. He went on to be accepted into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), an accomplishment in itself, as it has an acceptance rate of only 6.7%. Wang’s IQ is unquestionable, and his self-taught coding skills have served him well. Wang’s success can also be attributed to his timing. In the world of technology, new concepts and ideas must be instituted immediately to prevent others from capitalizing on them. https://knowall.com.ng/school-drop-out-alexandr-wang-becomes-3rd-worlds-youngest-self-made-billionaire-at-25/ |

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has recently addressed the claims made by a female candidate who accused the institution of denying her admission despite scoring 326 out of 400 in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by JAMB. The university management clarified that the candidate’s claim is false and that she failed to meet the admission requirements due to her failure to upload her secondary school certificate result on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) before the stipulated deadline. The applicant’s viral social media message had called for help, but UNILAG has publicly stated that its admission process, guidelines, requirements, and timelines are widely publicized to guide every applicant. Therefore, it is the responsibility of each candidate to ensure that they meet the necessary requirements and follow the guidelines before applying for admission.
